Florence van Gloria POV

"Prince Gloria is truly a genius! Your magical power is the miracle of the century!"

"You are a miracle child! Not even the Commander of the Royal Guard can beat you now!"

"There is nothing more I can teach you now, Prince! You have already learned all that I know!"

Everything is just too easy.

Magic comes naturally to me.

Focus and you'll be able to do it.

Martial Arts is simple.

Hurt your opponent before they hurt you.

Academics permanently stay in my brain.

Memorize it.

But for every talent and ability I have, there is a downfall.

Since my magic is too strong, people fear that I may lose control.

Since I am too strong, many of the guards like to gossip behind my back.

Since I am too smart, nothing surprises me anymore.

And due to my social status, I have no friends.

But inside, I like to think that I don't need anyone.

Everyone else is like mice when they are compared to me.

But here's the problem.

I am only four-years-old.

People say that it is a miracle that I can do everything. From my perspective, I think it is a miracle that only I can do everything.

But even though I am a genius among geniuses, my parents have not talked to be in the past few months.

Their excuse is that they are too busy.

But if they are too busy, why don't they talk to me during dinner when we quietly eat together?

We could talk about things like my debut.

Speaking of my debut, it was utterly traumatizing.

Although we were all extremely young, the noble girls all wore layers of makeup that made it seem as if they grew another layer of skin.

They wore dresses made with expensive gems that hurt my eyes to look at.

The noble boys weren't any better. They walked up to me under the influence of their own parents in order to gain my favor.

They all crowded around me while spitting compliments out of their fake smiles that they inherited from their parents.

How boring.

They should just leave me alone.

However, there was no doubt that my parents would expect me to act kindly to them all, so I treated each of them as well as I could manage.

But their attitudes became even worse after my magic testing.

My two elements were lightning and fire. Of course, the lightning element was a mythical element.

According to our nation's legends, lightning magic is given directly by the gods to those who were "worthy."

Also, it was apparent that I had the highest amount of magic ever recorded in our kingdom. It was nearly three times the amount of the first hero.

The average person had around 5,000.

The first hero's had around 5,000,000,000.

The amount I had was 14,530,700,000.

Yeah, it's a lot.

Now a month has passed and the castle servants are busy preparing for Duke Cyllia's daughter's debut tomorrow.

It would be the first debut that I would be able to attend.

Apparently, Dutchess Cyllia attempted to poison her daughter a week before my debut.

I had heard the Duke family had marital disputes over their child, but I never realized it was that bad.

The news was quite shocking to the castle, but my father and Duke Cyllia seemed quite happy discussing Dutchess Cyllia's imprisonment.

They were best friends after all.

The next day, my maids woke me up to get ready. The Duke's daughter's debut would begin at exactly noon and end a little after midnight.

When noon arrived, I was already dressed in ridiculous clothing.

People began to enter the ballroom until it was crowded. After greeting everyone at least once, I found the perfect chance to escape.

I left before the Duke's daughter was introduced. I didn't need to see her anyway.

I walked around the usual old castle walls.

The castle layout was complicated, but it was memorizable after living here for four years.

Also, if you are wondering, I remember every single detail since my birth.

Although, the castle servants think otherwise.

During the party, I wanted to go to my favorite place to rest. It was the castle's secret garden. It took me months to find the perfect place, and once I did, I quickly got attached to the place.

But before I even neared the place, I sensed the presence of two beings.

No one else knew about the garden except for me, so who could have found it? I erased my own presence until it was nonexistent.

Even if a whole country wanted to find me, it would be impossible with my skills.

I walked for a bit until I reached the garden. I hid behind some bushes and looked into the garden. (A/N: He sounds like a stalker...)

Casually sitting on a tree stump, I saw the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. She quietly sat while staring out to the pond in front of her.

Her blue hair flowed with the breeze and her sapphire eyes glimmered from the pond's reflection.

...So she was from the Duke family. Only the Duke family had sapphire eyes and assuming by her age and gender, she was the Duke's daughter.

So she's the birthday girl...

To be honest, I expected a spoiled brat with a caked face full of makeup and a shiny expensive dress.

But the girl before me only wore minimal makeup and a simple dress that could be found in commoner stores.

After a while of being entranced by her beauty, I noticed a small dragon by her side.

So she had a contracted dragon?!

Only a handful of people had ever seen a dragon in this kingdom and this girl was casually walking around with one.

The girl broke the silence in a silky smooth voice.

She sounded so innocent.

"Hey, do you think the nobles think I'm weird? They keep staring..." the girl said in a completely serious tone.

"Hmm...I don't know. You probably shouldn't ask me," her dragon said, obviously not knowing any better either.

I laughed to myself. So dragons can talk.

I was surprised, but I was more surprised at the girl's innocence.

Was this girl that dense?! They were obviously staring because she was beautiful.

When she grows up, I can nearly guarantee that she will have many marriage candidates. There will be a long line of noble boys after her.

...?

That's strange.

For some reason, my chest hurts and I feel irritated...

Perhaps my chest hurts because this innocent girl will be subjected to a lot of things in the future.

"Humph! If they have a problem with my face, I can break their own face," the girl said with a fire in her eyes.

"I will never doubt your resolve to punch a noble," her dragon said in a grim tone.

Nevermind. I change my mind. She is not innocent.

"In the future, I decree that every single noble will be required by law to kiss my feet," she said with a smirk.

She punched the air while smiling and giggling.

I smiled myself. She was acting so hyper, it was almost cute.

It was refreshing.

"I agree...nobles will definitely...have some trouble with you" the dragon said while flying around.

Even her dragon was graceful and beautiful in its movements.

"I'm not scared of any of those nobles! I'm not even scared of that smelly, stupid prince!" she screamed in an incredibly loud voice.

I smirked. Did she just call me a "smelly, stupid prince" inside the castle?

Although she probably didn't mean to say it too loudly, her scream could be heard very far away.

Personally, I think I have good hygiene. Although it is embarrassing, I am not stupid either.

According to law, insulting the prince could lead to a death sentence.

Was she brave? Or was she just stupid?

She froze for a bit and then began to laugh alongside her familiar. They continued to laugh for a while before I decided to interrupt them.

I changed my previously neat clothing into a messier and more childish style.

I had some blue contact lenses that I stole from my aids' office. I decided to use them now to cover up my green eyes.

There was no doubt I didn't look like the crown prince anymore.

I disabled my presence nullification and stepped out in front of them.

The girl and her familiar froze for a bit until they saw my appearance. I feinted innocence and confusion in order to lower their guard.

To be honest, I just wanted to see how the girl would react.

"U-umm...h-hi! I got lost...so can you p-please help me?" I said in my best smile.

What I said was a lie, of course. I knew this castle like the back of my hand. There was no way I would get lost.

Judging from the girl's reaction, I had succeeded in fooling her. She quickly accepted to help me.

"Yes! Of course! I'll walk you back to the ballroom," she said while jumping up and down. Her eyes shone and her lips formed an adorable smile.

Huh. Her excited face is so cute.

I wonder what other faces she can make.

While I was in thought, she brought her hand to my cheek and squished it. She was treating me as she would with a baby.

Although I was technically a toddler, I was still the crown prince of this nation and the genius of this century.

But even though I should have been upset, all I could think about at that moment was that her hand was on my face.

She had almost impossibly soft and delicate hands.

I normally don't express any real emotions on my face, yet I could feel my face getting redder by the second.

I wonder why.

She stopped after a while and grabbed my hand. We walked back to the castle's ballroom together.

As we walked, she suddenly froze. She stared at my face and then I realized that she was probably suspicious of me.

"I-is there som-something wrong?" I said while cocking my head. My attempt at tricking her again worked.

Whew.

She stopped her suspicions and quickly let them go for now.

"Nope. Nothing is wrong. No. Nope. Never. So...uhhh...how old are you?" she asked while resuming to lead me back.

She was terrible at lying.

Her attempts at covering up her suspicions were so comical that it almost made me break character.

"Uhh...I'm four years old...my debut was a month ago..." I said. Since she had not debuted yet during my debut, she could not attend it.

My words brought her some joy since I was the same age as her.

But just as I was enjoying her happy face, she quickly froze and gave a downcast look.

Was she sad that she couldn't attend my debut?

How cute.

Her expressions changed with every thought she had. Whether she realized this or not, it was funny.

"You're the same age as me then! I can't believe that you're older though," she told me with some disbelief.

"R-really?! P-people do-don't often s-say that t-to me..." I muttered.

Throughout my life, I was told by the adults that I was very mature for my age.

In fact, sometimes, the castle servants forget my age, which is weird since my physical build is small.

"Really? I guess you act more mature than other kids?" she said again with disbelief.

As we neared the ballroom, I quickly said my goodbyes. If I entered the ballroom with her, rumors would start and she would notice that I was the prince.

"Goodbye! Umm...thank you for guiding m-me!"

"Your welcome! I hope I can see you again soon," she said while patting my head.

...?

It feels as if my chest was being warmed...Her gentle pats are quite nice though.

I looked up and gave her a genuine smile.

I wonder how its been since I was able to smile naturally like this.

I left her alone with her dragon and walked away. I quickly removed my contacts.

I don't believe that I'll need my contacts anymore.

I also fixed my clothes and hair a little before I stepped into the ballroom.

A while later, I saw some of the castle servants rushed towards me. They quickly told me to follow them to meet the birthday girl.

Heh.

I wonder how she will react when she sees me...

I'll assume that her face will be fun as always.

I followed the maids to the throne in the back of the ballroom. Many of the noble girls and boys stared at me along the way.

Some girls grabbed my arm and tried to get my attention. They began to talk about incomprehensible things such as the weather and gems.

The boys walked up to me and began to talk about their favorite expensive toys.

I smiled, told them I had things to do, and left.

They were all disgusting.

None of the noble children had any real emotions. They were too spoiled to have any.

The maids escorted me to the back of the ballroom.

As I neared the steps, I saw her.

She also saw me.

Her face was in shock, which earned her a chuckle from me.

How cute.

She jumped background and she widened her eyes.

Unlike the fake expressions that the noble children always gave me, this girl always gave a genuine look.

I wonder how many faces she could show me.

I have decided.

This girl is fun.

She is also interesting.

She doesn't seem to be spoiled either.

Maybe she could be my new toy.

I won't share her with anybody.
