-------------------------------------------------------------
This morning, I woke up to a headache. It was a terrible headache.
Imagine getting hit by a truck, which has happened to me before, and then turn the amount of pain into a number greater than 10,000.
Then, multiply the amount of pain by 1,000.
Next, add 100,000,000 to the number that you get.
Lastly, multiply that number by itself.
What number did you get?
The number you got was the amount I felt from the headache I got this morning. So to conclude all of the math, IT HURT A LOT!
You may be wondering why I have such a big headache. The answer to that is "the power of the mind."
Before I was born, Gadia, the god of this world, promised to give me "the power of the mind" when I became four.
I guess this power is too much for my head. So, now I am laying down on my bed in utter pain.
Every inch of my body is stiff and there is nothing I could do. It feels as if my head is disintegrating...
Ace was in the room with me and stared worriedly at me.
His look is very refreshing.
If only everyone was as pure as Ace...
...I bet Gadia, the stupid god, is enjoying the sight of me being in pain.
I can picture him laughing wickedly right now...
My father panicked when he realized how much pain I was in. He brought some mages to reduce the headache.
I told them that I didn't want to be put to sleep though. After all, I didn't want to imagine Gadia's smug face as I go to dreamland.
But to be honest, I still feel unimaginable pain. If it were any other kid, they would be crying or passing out.
However, I am mature enough to remain calm.
...
That was a lie.
...
I am not calm.
Currently, I am crying my eyes out. IT HURTS!
OWWWIIIIIEEEE!!!!!!!! DADDY HELP MEEEEEE!
Tears stung my eyes and my body twisted and turned uncomfortably on my bed. I wish someone would blow up my mind...but I don't want to die again.
I think someone knocked on my door, but my throat was too tight to say anything. So, I just groaned instead.
The door opened and Florence, the prince I met yesterday, walked in calmly.
I wonder why he is here. He should be busy as the first prince of Silverbell, yet he was casually walking into my bedroom.
I wonder if he had some business near our estate and decided to visit for fun.
There's no way he would come all the way here because he heard that I was sick after all.
I winced in pain as he knelt by my side and touched my forehead. He frowned.
He definitely saw my tears. So, I ducked under my blankets to hide them.
"Hey, Ace. I know you can speak our language," the prince said with a blank face.
I gasped a little under the blankets.
"Don't worry. I won't tell anyone. But can you leave this room as a favor? I want to talk to Cordelia," he said calmly.
Ace hesitated a little.
Honestly, I wanted Ace to stay here but Florence seemed to be serious. Besides, he was a four-year-old, so there wasn't much he could do.
I slowly uncovered my head underneath my blankets to look at him.
Ace nodded to me and began to leave.
Once Ace left the room, Florence used some of his top-notch senses to figure out if Ace really left or not.
Once he confirmed this, he turned to look at me straight in the eye.
I wondered what words of comfort he would tell me.
But suddenly, his serious face quickly changed into a happy smirk.
Wait...What?!
He chuckled to himself and I felt shivers down my spine.
"So...you can't move?" Florence said with an unnerving gleam in his eye.
With my tight throat, I was unable to say anything besides a small whimper.
"Hey...if you can't move, you can't run away, right?" he said with a grin that I couldn't comprehend.
At this point, my headache was not my biggest problem.
The fact that this kid is in the same room with me alone is the biggest problem I'll ever have.
"Can you become my cute little toy? I've been bored with the lack of entertainment in the castle..." he said with a scary expression on his face.
I need to run away from this boy.
"Since you're in pain, I bet it is difficult for you to escape-not that you could've anyway," he said with his lips curving to form a small smirk.
I tried to yell for help but he trapped my mouth with his hand and held one finger to his lips to silence me.
No.
This is the worst possible scenario.
He took one of my limp hands and pinned it down on my bed.
Since he was technically strong enough to be a military commander and I was an ill couch potato, I wasn't able to shake him off.
He took my other limp hand and kissed my ring finger.
"One day, I'll place a ring on this finger. Then, you'll be mine forever," he said with a sort of twisted smile.
My mind was blank throughout all of this, of course, and my face was an unmistakable shade of pink.
At the sight of my embarrassed face, he just became even happier.
He smiled and without a doubt, he was staring at my face.
He whispered into my ears softly.
"All of you belongs to me. Remember that."
And then I shivered.
I could feel impending doom.
His face moved closer to mine and I struggled to break free but I couldn't escape.
Just when I thought he was going to kiss my lips, he stopped and started laughing instead.
"Jeez, lady! Stop taking this so seriously! Hahaha!"
What.
"I wanted to test out some things out. I didn't realize how well it would work!" Florence said with nonstop laughing.
...what.
"...Do you want me to do it again?" he said, cocking his head sarcastically to the side.
This boy...is truly a sadist.
The fact that I was toyed with by this kid me even angrier.
I kicked him as hard as I could in his head. He fell off of my bed to the ground.
Contrary to my hopes, he did not cry or get angry.
He just stared at my face for a while and examined how I looked.
I stared back at him with anger and he began to smile.
"Hey...so...is...Does your head still...hurt?" he asked awkwardly.
Huh?
I gave him a questioning look.
"I'm asking you...Do you feel better?" he asked again seriously.
Speaking of which, thanks to his stupid stunt, I forgot about my headache...
Huh?
I sent him another questioning look.
This time, he just sighed and then smiled.
"Nevermind. At least you are feeling better... Goodbye, my future wife," he said with a chuckle that didn't suit a child.
Humph.
I want to kick his head again. If I was able to move, the crown prince would be dead.
Seriously, this kid does not act like a kid. Sometimes I forget we are only kids.
I wonder what he was talking about though...
He left my room with a small wave of goodbye as he exited.
I was alone and my whole head was filled with thoughts about what had happened before.
I blushed again and hid underneath my blanket.
WHY?!?!?!? Why did this child do something unnecessarily embarrassing?!?!?!
Each time I tried to think about something else, such as my splitting headache, the thought about what happened flew back into my mind.
GAH! I WOULD RATHER THINK ABOUT THE HEADACHE I HAVE NOW THAN THAT STUPID BOY!
I hate him!
I hate him!
I hate him!
I couldn't keep what happened out of my head, so I rubbed the small dragon's mark on my ankle.
The mark changed from black to gold and Ace quickly came back.
Ace added some sort of tracking magic on the mark so I could call for him if I needed to.
It's a little secret that both Ace and I share.
Once Ace flew into my room, I grabbed him from the air and hugged him as a stuffed toy.
Seriously, I WANT TO SLEEP NOW!
He didn't fight back...probably because I always do this.
Ace quickly rolled over to a more comfortable position and did some sort of weird sleep magic on me.
We both fell asleep.
.
.
1 Day Later
.
.
Darn it.
I still remember everything after waking up.
I looked outside my bedroom windows and estimated that it was noon.
Inwardly I was crying. I had hoped that I would forget everything once I woke up.
But I didn't.
I checked my room and it seemed that Ace had escaped.
My head didn't hurt anymore so it was okay.
I left my room and walked to my father's office. Before I entered the room, I heard some talking inside.
"You'll need some time to get used to this place, but feel free to do what you like."
"U-umm. Thank-you sir."
"No problem! I should be thanking you for your help."
"N-no! I-I should b-be thank-king you, sir. I w-would be d-dead wi-without you..."
"Please don't worry about it. Also, don't be so polite! Please feel free to act as you wish."
"O-ok..."
Huh?
I wonder what is happening inside.
I decided to leave my father alone and go to the large living room instead. There, I found Ace.
He quickly flew toward me.
"Cordelia, are you feeling better yet?" Ace asked.
"Yep! I feel better now. What happened while I was sleeping?" I asked him.
"Hmm...Not much. Your father went to the town for work," he said a little slower.
"Anything else?" I asked again.
I want to know who my father was talking to in his office.
"...In your sleep, you were muttering about killing your fiancee," he answered.
Hmm...that sounds about right.
"Alright. It's fine then," I told him.
I sat comfortably on our couch. I was definitely bored.
I don't know how to do magic yet and learning martial arts as a lady would be considered wrong in this world.
Jeez. Gender differences are tough here.
I wish I had manga to read. Perhaps a TV to watch anime would be nice too.
I sighed.
There was no technology here and I hate it!
...Could I create some with magic once I learn how...?
But...it would probably be better to learn some self-defense before I become a full-on otaku weeb couch potato.
To be honest, I wanted to use "the power of the mind" right now, but I wasn't sure about what would happen if I did. What if I get another headache?
While Ace and I were just laying around, Sophie, my maid, came into the room.
"My lady! Excuse this servant, but your father requests your presence right now! Where were you?! I checked in your room but you weren't there!" Sophie said while smacking my head.
...Does Sophie realize that I'm the Duke's daughter?
Oh well.
I would never give anyone the death sentence unless I really hated them anyway. (a.k.a my mother)
Besides, Sophie has been my friend since birth. So, she can do what she likes.
"I wanted some fresh air, so I left my room...s-sorry, Sophie!" I said while grabbing her shoulder. I cried some of my specialty fake tears and I could feel her soften.
Heh. My fake tears always work.
I could feel Ace sighing in the corner.
Ace is the only one who knows my real personality other than that stupid prince.
That stupid guy caught me in the act of non-cuteness.
"It's alright, sweetie! You are too cute!!! Okay, let me lead you to your father," Sophie said with joy in her voice.
We walked to my father's office and Sophie left me at the front door.
I knocked on the door and entered.
When I walked in, I was face-to-face with my father and a beautiful boy.
He was wearing tattered clothes that didn't suit him well.
"Hi!" I said sounding cheerful.
"H-hello! S-sorry for getting in your way!" the boy replied back.
He stared at my face and the blushed. He quickly stared at the floor afterward.
Wow.
This kid was definitely older than me, but he was treating me as if I were the older one.
I like this kid.
"Cordelia, meet your new older brother!" my father said with a cheerful smile.
Huh.
Huh?!
HUH?!
This kid is my older brother?!?!?!?!
He's my older brother known as Ash de Boren Cyllia?!?!
He's my older brother known as the second capture target of "Love, Love in the Super Cool Magic Academy of Hot Guys?!?!?!"
He's my older brother known as the one who uses an official duel as an excuse to kill me?!?!?
...I'm starting to get another headache.
