Cordelia's POV

The way back to the group was mentally tiring.

It was also extremely awkward.

EXTREMELY awkward.

I couldn't talk to Ace and he never tried to talk to me. The eerie silence made me feel frozen like a rock.

Also...I just realized that the mysterious boy that I saved earlier probably saw the entire thing.

The boy said that he would be following me all the way back to my home...right?

...So he definitely saw the argument between me and Ace.

...How embarrassing...

A part of me regrets saving the boy from the two psychopaths. If I never attempted to save him, I wouldn't have needed to go through all of this trouble.

The boy wouldn't forcefully try to follow me home and I may have never had an argument with Ace...

Ugh...Why is saving people so hard...?!

...Even though I just saved a person's life...I feel worse. Saving people is not worth the effort.

I was tired physically, emotionally, and mentally after everything I had gone through.

...And at some point, I passed out.

.

.

A Little Bit Later

.

.

I woke up inside of a room full of fluffy beds and modern technology.

I was...in the room that the gods gifted me inside of my head.

"The Power of the Mind"

"You're finally awake, stupid," a familiar voice said from the corner of my vision.

"Clara! Do you feel any pain...?" another familiar voice said while using my past life's name.

"Ugh...I didn't want to wake up and see your guys' faces...stupid gods..." I muttered.

Shai and Gadia stood a few feet away from me with their shining aura.

Their aura was so bright that it was visible to the eye. They were literally glowing...

"Why am I here?" I asked them slowly.

"Well...you're not dead..." Shai said while trying to dodge my question.

"Why am I here?" I repeated again while being slightly sharper than before.

"Ughhhhh...This is why humans are sooooo annoying..." Gadia groaned with annoyance.

"You're here...because we don't want you to be awake in the real world right now..." Shai sighed.

"What the heck does that mean...?" I questioned them further.

"There are a few things happening in the real world right now that I'm sure you would get annoyed at..." Shai said quietly.

"...Like what?!" I asked them while being a little scared of what they would say next.

"Idiot. Did you not ever think about the consequences of your actions?!" Gadia scolded me.

"So...um...Clara...The prince, Florence, MAY HAVE...canceled the entire royal festival after the others found out...you were...hurt...?" Shai explained slowly with obvious hesitation.

"...What."

How...When...WHY?!

The royal festival only happens ONCE EVERY TEN YEARS during the prince's birthday!!!

Why the heck would they cancel everything because I broke my leg?!?!?!?!

Are they STUPID?!?!

"Why the heck would they do that?! I only broke my leg and stuff! We even caught the psychopaths!!!" I yelled.

I swear...the moment I wake up in the real world...I'm slapping that stingy prince right across the face.

"Ughhh...See, Shai?! I TOLD you that she was dense!" Gadia complained to Shai.

"I'm sure...she'll get it one day..." Shai muttered silently.

"What are you stupid gods talking about now?!?!?!" I screeched.

"Nothing," they both replied in unison.

"Uhuh...SURE," I said sarcastically.

"Yeah...so...do you just want to stay here and watch some anime with us...? The newest season of ______ is out..." Shai said with an awkward chuckle.

"Hmm...Your offer is extremely enticing...BUT I NEED TO WAKE UP, THANK YOU VERY MUCH???" I yelled at the gods.

At this point, I think Shai was used to me yelling at him, so he didn't OVERreact.

He just...uh...cried...

Whoops.

Ugh...whenever Shai cries...flowers bloom behind him. His tears literally shine like diamonds and his holy aura intensifies to the point where I can't handle it.

...I need to wake up in the real world before his holy aura exorcizes all the dark stuff in my soul.

"Fine. But don't go complaining to us when you get mad, stupid girl," Gadia said with a sigh.

"Okay!!! I get it already, okay?! Just let me out of my own head," I insisted.

In a flash, they did some of their voodoo overpowered magic and I blacked out again.

.

.

A Little Bit Later

.

.

This time, I woke up in the capital's center.

Instead of the sunny weather we had before, the sky was full of gray clouds that rumbled with thunder. In the distance, I could see strikes of lightning.

Florence...It seems that the prince's lightning magic was going out of control...Why the heck is he so mad?

Just so you know, depending on Florence's mood, clouds appear in the sky thanks to his mythical lightning magic. So, I could tell he was mad.

Around me, I could see hundreds of armed guards patrolling the capital. The medical team of healers was centered in the area near me.

...And unlike before, there were no food stalls, musicians and dancers along the streets of the capital.

Nooooooo...The food is gone!

I'm going to kill Florence.

How dare he get rid of the taco stall I was planning on going to!!!!

Grrrrrrr...

Thanks to him, I am hungry AND I have no way to get food...

Great.

My stomach began to growl out loud and I felt someone stir near me.

It was...Ace.

I guess he was asleep before my loud stomach woke him up.

"...You're awake," Ace said as he realized that I wasn't unconscious anymore.

"Y-Yeah..." I replied awkwardly.

Wow...I never thought that there would be a day when I find that talking to Ace was awkward.

"Are you okay? I could bring some healers here if you still feel hurt," Ace said with obligatory worry.

His lack of care in me twisted my heart.

Is this karma for messing up earlier...?

"N-No. I don't feel any pain right now," I replied truthfully.

My leg was already completely healed...probably thanks to some sort of magic.

"...Are you sure?" Ace asked again.

"Y-Yeah. I am definitely sure that I am not dying right now," I answered sarcastically.

"Alright then. Just tell me if there is anything wrong. I'll go bring your father here, so just sit and wait for a little bit while I'm gone," Ace sighed as he flew away.

...Ugh...Why is talking to Ace so hard now?!

Aren't we supposed to be best friends or something?! Also, why the heck do I feel so guilty when I didn't do anything wrong?!

"OAHFISHJXHIAWUFPAWJMAUZIQPLXNZ!!!!" I internally screamed inside my head.

All of my dumb problems are giving me a headache.

In the meantime, I decided to check my status using the "power of the mind."

——

——

I scanned my status slowly to take in all the new changes.

...First of all...It seems like my list of skills has increased...again. Is it just me...or are my skills...kind of becoming a little too...mean(?)

...At least I am super overpowered for my age thanks to Sir Maddy's relentless training! All of my blood, sweat, and tears actually paid off...Thank the gods.

In case you were wondering, elite warriors and mages are usually around level 150 or so. Currently, I am at level 72, which is unheard of for my age. Most kids my age are around level 5.

The person with the highest level in the entire kingdom is the king. Uncle Gloria is around level 875 right now, which makes him literally unkillable.

The only things that haven't changed about my status are my titles. They've stayed the same for as long as I have been alive.

After a while of waiting and looking at my status, I finally found out that I had ZERO patience to wait for Ace to come back!

Yay!

Anyway, I decided to stand up and walk around. My leg was healed and my MP was completely replenished.

I was only a little fatigued, but I wanted to move around.

Besides...I think Ace won't be back for a while. I have a feeling that he is struggling to get the whole group together to CALMLY come and get me.

In fact...I think I saw some more lightning bolts shoot from the sky earlier...Florence is probably getting worked up over something right now...which is a good indicator that I need to leave.

Thus, I decided to use my only opportunity to escape the area as soon as possible.

But...

...It was too late.

In the corner of my eye, I could see dust clouds rising as a certain group of people that I wish I didn't know ran through the streets toward me.

My father was sprinting toward me with his monstrous strength. My maid, Sophie, was also sprinting along with my father using the muscles she gained from years of work.

From my point of view, my father and Sophie looked like demons as they sprinted toward me. They were blowing everything around them away as they sprinted toward me.

It was honestly kind of scary to see them act like this...

Behind my father and Sophie, the male leads were somewhat speed-walking toward me. They weren't as insane as Sophie and my father, but they were definitely walking a lot quicker than their regular pace.

As soon everyone saw me, the stormy clouds in the sky disappeared in a flash and sunlight shone on every inch of the capital again.

Florence seems to have finally calmed down.

Ace, on the other hand, just followed them slowly.

...The only thing I didn't understand was that...Mattius, the fourth male lead I had just met, was gone.

Uh...Did Mattius get lost or something while I was gone?

I wonder why he isn't with the others anymore...

The moment I was going to think about why Mattius was gone, my father finally reached me. He grabbed me and held me straight up into the air.

"Cordelia! You're finally awake, my sugary little fairy!" my father exclaimed happily as he swung my body around in circles just like a rag doll.

Um...Excuse me, father...But I am currently a PERSON RECOVERING FROM INJURY.

"I'm s-so happy to see you too, Dad! C-Can you...um...put me back down...pretty please?" I said as sweetly as I could.

"Oh! Of course, sweetie!" he yelled as he gently placed me back onto the ground.

"Thank you, Dad! I'm feeling perfectly okay right now," I described my physical state to him.

"Aww~ My little angel is just too cute!" my father squealed as he grabbed me into a hug and squeezed me until my consciousness almost left my body.

"I-I g-get i-it, DAD! I-I N-NEED AIR!" I yelled as I suffocated in his grasp.

"Oh no...I did it again...I'm so sorry, sweetie!!!" my father cried out as he let me go.

He looked just like a sad puppy when he realized his wrongdoings.

"It's okay, Dad...I'm sure one day you'll remember," I said with a slightly forced smile.

"Yes! I will definitely try," my father said loudly with a newfound determination as he punched the air.

As he was firing himself up, Sophie interrupted him.

"How many times have I told you to not suffocate the young lady...?!" Sophie said as she smacked my father in the head.

"I'm sorry, Sophie...I keep forgetting..." my father replied with a look of embarrassment.

"Constantly saying 'sorry' isn't going to help you! You actually have to try to keep the young miss alive. Humans need oxygen! I don't understand why you keep forgetting," Sophie said sharply.

"I-I'm sorry..." my father murmured quietly.

To be honest, over the past few years, I had forgotten how undeniably handsome my father was. Thanks to his puppy-like display, I have now realized that his face was probably irresistible to other adults.

In fact...I think Sophie was having a hard time handling his puppy face.

"J-Just...remember to not hurt the young lady, okay?!" she said with a burst of emotion.

I don't think Sophie noticed the blood that was streaming down her nose.

Wow...I'll remember this moment for the rest of my life in case I need to blackmail Sophie.

While Sophie was scolding my father with some serious blush on her face, the male leads walked up to me.

It was at this moment that I could feel my approaching doom.

"Cordelia, are you okay?" Ash said with a worried attitude.

"I'm alright. I don't feel any pain," I replied to him with a sigh.

"Are you sure? Is there anywhere that aches? You know...I can kiss it better if you need me to," Florence said with a smile as he slid his arms around my waist and held my chin upwards to his face.

"N-No...I think I'm fine. So let me go," I said as I slammed my foot down onto his.

Florence let go of me and held his hands up to surrender.

"There's no need to be so violent, milady. The prince was merely trying to make sure you were okay," Grey said with a chuckle.

Oh no...

What was Grey thinking now?!

"What do you want, Grey?" I asked with a sigh.

"Nothing at all," Grey answered with an eerie smile.

I shuddered.

I have a hunch that...Grey is lying...

"...Ugh, what are you two doing here?! Let me have some time with my sister. Go away," Ash said with a groan as he faced the other two male leads.

"Heh. Excuse me...?! Who cares if she's your sister...? I'm her fiance," Florence retaliated.

"So what?! I'm always closer to her than you," Ash retorted.

"The fact that you take pride in seeing your step-sister every day is creepy," Florence said with a dark smile.

"Are you kidding me?! The fact that you consider your fiance to already be your wife is pretty scary in my opinion."

"Let's be honest here. I'm not the one with the sister-complex."

"...I DON'T HAVE A SISTER-COMPLEX!"

"Yes. Yes, you do."

"We have already talked about this, you little brat. I don't have a sister-complex."

"Pfft. If you don't have a sister-complex, then who does?"

"UGH! This is why I find little brats like you extremely annoying."

"I think you're forgetting something..."

"What?"

"Today's my birthday..."

"So what?!"

"I'm turning 10 today..."

"Everyone in the entire capital knows, idio-"

"Just listen to me and don't interrupt. Look, I'm the same age as you right now. You're ten and I'm ten. You can't call me a little brat."

"I'm turning eleven in a few months."

"So what?! I'm still the same age as you right now..."

"That doesn't matter."

"Yes, it does."

"No, it doesn't."

"Yes, it does."

"I'm still older than you."

"No one cares. I'm the crown prince and you're the adopted son of the duke."

"Ugh! No one cares about your position!!!!!!"

"Actually, you're wrong. I think the entire kingdom cares about my position..."

"YOU STUPID BRAT! I AM SO DONE WITH ALWAYS ARGUING WITH YOU! DO YOU WANT ME TO FIGHT YOU RIGHT NOW?!" Ash screeched as he began to activate his plant magic.

"Oh...I think you're ready to get burned," Florence said as he activated his fire magic.

...These two idiots.

"You two! Sto-" I tried to say before Grey interrupted me.

"Wait, milady. Things are about to become interesting. We shouldn't try to stop a duel between men," Grey said with a smirk.

"Did you just call them 'men' right now?!?!?! Those two are definitely not men!!!!! Also, we need to stop them before they start an official duel and actually kill each other!" I yelled.

"But letting them fight is a good thing, milady. Think about it. If they fight, I'll make us some popcorn and we can watch them fight. It will be a lot of fun," Grey responded with a glint in his eye.

...Grey really wants them to kill each other.

"No. We are going to stop them. I can't let the only prince of our kingdom die thanks to my stupid brother..." I sighed.

"...Are you sure you won't change your mind...?" Grey asked again.

"YES! I AM VERY SURE THAT I DON'T WANT TO SEE MY BROTHER AND FIANCE FIGHT A DUEL TO THE DEATH IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CAPITAL!!!" I yelled extremely loudly.

Florence and Ash heard my yelling and immediately stopped what they were doing.

Ohohoho~

First, Florence cancels the entire royal festival because I broke my leg which, by the way, healed in less than a few hours.

Then, Ash is causing a giant ruckus and is attempting to kill the first prince of Silverbell, who is also my fiance, in a duel.

Not only that, but Grey is encouraging them.

Thanks to the male leads' stupidity, I'm going to have to punish them thoroughly...

Ugh...Now I kind of wish that I stayed with Shai and Gadia when I had the chance...
