Several days later, I've finally realised why my parents, brother's and my name sounded so familiar.
It's because they were the names of the characters in an otome game called "Lovely Happenings" which took place in Deruria Kingdom's magic academy. There the children of nobility who can use magic would be enrolled at the age of 15 and learn how to control their magic and socialise.
Honestly it was something Hana-chan recommended, or rather forced onto me. Since she was adamant about it, I played it and now, I'm really thankful that I did. Because of that, I got information about what might happen to me in this world!
Thanks Hana-chan~
Firstly, I am the first daughter of Altair von Lorya, a duke and also the prime minister of Deruria Kingdom, and Lisa von Lorya, a real life princess from the neighbouring kingdom.
In the game, Altair was supposed to be a stern, ice devil of a prime minister. However, all I can see now was a man who's overly doting to his wife and children.
They were married because of political reasons, but after interacting more, they fell in love with each other. To be honest, now they're what you'd call an idiot-couple.
No matter if me, my brother or any servants were there, they would flirt and kiss. Honestly, how could you kiss in front of a baby?! Well that might be because they thought I don't understand anything yet but... It's still kinda weird for me to see.
Back on topic, the reason why I could remember who they were was because first, I completed the game shortly before I died, and second, because they were the parents of the most iconic villainess in the game. The main villainess of this game is Alterisa von Lorya, or in other words... Me!
......
Argh! Why can't I reincarnate into a more peaceful character?! Even a mob character would be better than a villainess and her thorny path of life. I mean, Alterisa either dies or gets exiled in the end you know?!
Hah... Well, I'm still grateful that I got to have such great parents and live comfortably.
Anyway, in the game, Alterisa was a transcendental beauty. And no, I'm not just saying this because I'm Alterisa now.
Honestly, she was the most beautiful character in the game. Smooth and shiny silver hair with a tinge of violet. Beautiful and alluring violet eyes that would make people drawn to and lost in them. Porcelain white smooth skin free of any blemishes. A goddess like beauty. And great big assets! Hehe~ you know what I'm talking about.
I'm kinda excited now that I got to become such a beautiful girl like her in the future.
But I don't want to have her personality. Nope. No thank you.
She's the most spoiled, rotten, unbearable girl, enough to the point that people badmouth her on the internet and I agreed despite me being a pretty tolerant person. Hah... It's such a waste for a beauty like her to have such ugly personality. Ugh... Just thinking about it makes me shiver.
Well, if anything, it wasn't entirely her fault. Because something happened to her mom that robbed her life when she was 5, her father ended up spoiling her too much and made her into that.
Hah... If only she didn't have that personality, the heroine, even with her beauty, cuteness, and incredibly rare magic power, won't even stand a chance against Alterisa.
Hm? Yes, I did say magic power.
This world is a world of magic where some people could use mana to cause a phenomenon. Some people would have affinity to one element. Two would be rare. Three would be called a genius. And four would be something unprecedented.
And as expected, the heroine has affinity to four elements, including fire, earth, wind and the legendary light element. Really though... four is... kinda op...
As far as I remember, affinities were divided into several ranks.
Common: Fire, Water, Earth, Wind.
Rare: Lightning, Ice, Telekinesis, Shadow
Mythical: Light, Dark, Nature, Space, Time.
Blessings: Spirit
Blessings ranked spells are something that you are not born with unlike the others. For spirit magic, it's something that you could learn if spirits give you their blessings. Without it, it would be impossible to use spirit magic. The form of spirit magic depends on the spirit that gave you their blessings, but it's most certainly more powerful than regular magic even if it's of the same element.
And the heroine has four of them... Although three of them were common, to have that much affinity was already unprecedented. That is also why she was able to be accepted into the academy, that mostly accept nobles, despite being a commoner as a scholarship student.
The in game Alterisa only has affinity to water and ice. And she never practice her magic at all so she's really weak in that department.
I don't understand her. There's still a lot of cool things you can do with water and Ice! Like healing water, water spear, extinguishing fire, cool ice spells, creating ice weapons, free ice cubes, air conditioning, free freezer and best of all, free cold drinking water~ I'll never get dehydrated!
Anyways, the capture targets, which includes my big brother, also has high specs just like the heroine.
There are five capture targets in this otome game. Firstly, the quintessential first prince of the kingdom, Alexus von Derium. Light blonde hair, golden yellow eyes, handsome face, smart, athletic, kind, and has affinity to lightning and Ice magic. Honestly I don't even know what his flaws are when I first played his route.
And what's more, he's actually a pretty normal guy unlike what I thought real life princes would be.
Yes I act like a "prince" but that's a fantasy prince. A real prince is someone who shoulders the future of the kingdom. And if a little child was already been pressured to do such a thing, it wouldn't be strange if he would develop some twisted personalities.
But, Alexus understands his role as the crown prince and would always work hard in his lessons. Although he was a genius, he wasn't arrogant and would always be kind to his subordinates.
If I would give out a flaw then it would be his habit of scheming. Although no one would get hurt by his schemes, it would still make you apprehensive of what might happen. That and his possessive and sadistic tendencies towards the heroine that awakened after he found her interesting and fell in love with her. He was a borderline yandere...
Okay... I take back what I said about normal...
This is where villainess Alterisa came in. She's the villainess for Alexus's route and will become the most annoying hindrance.
She fell in love at first sight with the first prince and she pestered her father to have her engaged with Alexus when she was 5. Although forced, he thought it wasn't a bad political marriage since Alterisa was the daughter of the prime minister who's also a powerful duke.
But then in time, he also got annoyed by her attitude. Hah... even the tolerant prince was annoyed, as expected of the most iconic villainess...
Then when he met the heroine, he found her pleasant since she was the opposite of Alterisa and got friendly with heroine. But of course, being the obnoxious person she is, Alterisa would always abuse her power to bully the heroine and get him away from Alexus, which didn't sit well with him.
Although he was tolerant, Alterisa would cross the line, making him hate her and fell in love with the heroine as they face her together...
This actually ended up with Alexus either executing her for killing the heroine in the bad ending, exiling her out of the nation in the good ending or ordered her assassination in the normal ending...
Well... On that morbid note, let's move on to the second capture target.
He was the son of Duke Varion, Keith von Varion. He has affinities to fire and telekinesis magic. With his dark red hair and similarly red eyes, he exuded a lot of sex appeal and was called a playboy by the game's community because he would flirt with many women before meeting the heroine.
Even after meeting the heroine, he would be overly touchy-feely with her. Well, there's actually something that trigger that behavior.
Because he was often compared to the overly perfect prince, he had some sort of an inferiority complex towards him, even though he was also far above average in terms of looks, intelligence, athleticism and magic.
That's why in order to be his equal, he would try to gain attention and popularity from noble ladies even though he wasn't interested in them. Though the heroine would later pique his interest and made him fall in love with her.
With Keith's route, Alterisa wasn't the main villainess. The main villainess is another daughter of a duke who's engage to him called Evelyn von Silium.
She's an incredibly beautiful girl with flowing light blue hair and deep blue eyes. Though not at the level of Alterisa, her personality was better so she became that much more beautiful.
Evelyn fell in love with Keith when she saw him in Alterisa's fifth birthday and luckily got engaged with him due to political reasons. Keith would flirt with her at first to see if he likes her, but unfortunately, he didn't found her appealing since she would just follow him blindly.
Deep inside, Keith held great admiration towards the prince, thus he wanted to find someone who's similarly independent, shining and strong just like him, not weak girls who only know how to follow a man. Because the heroine has that quality, he would later become interested in her.
Of course, Evelyn would become blinded with jealousy and Alterisa would help her bully the heroine.
Though, Alterisa was the one who planned everything and actually bully her since she hated the fact that a commoner like her would have the same standing with her as a prince's fiance.
That's why when it was revealed that Alterisa was using Evelyn as a cover to bully her, Alterisa was the one punished. Her engagement with Alexus was annulled and she either get exiled or killed... Yeah, I really can't comment anymore with her behavior...
Hah... Why are you so stupid, Alterisa?
The third capture target is my big brother, Lucas von Lorya. He's actually the second most popular capture target after Alexus.
Not only because of his silver shining hair, handsome face, icy look and having affinity to telekinesis and wind, his slightly sadistic personality towards the heroine which was revealed later on in his route shot him up the ranking list. He, who had to put up with Alterisa's rotten attitude, ended up being as cold as his father, hating any women who came up to him.
However, he got interested in the heroine because she was different from everyone else. As the son of a great prime minister and the heir to an incredibly powerful duke's house, he got to see many nobles who tried to butter up to him.
Each and every one of them all did the same pleasantries and scheme to get to his side. In addition to Alterisa, it made him hate them even more. But the heroine was different, her straightforward personality was a breath of fresh air to him, and he got interested in her since then.
The villainess for Lucas's route was a Marquis' Daughter, Illya von Luminum. She's a nice, hardworking girl who's always trying her best to become a worthy wife to Lucas. However... She came to love Lucas too much that she began getting jealous of the heroine who's close to him and began bullying her.
And of course... Alterisa aided her since she found the heroine not worthy of her brother who was the heir to a powerful duke's house and to be her sister in law. So she made sure to break them apart every time they meet. And of course, she did with any means possible.
Unable to take it anymore, after becoming the head of the household, Lucas banished Alterisa to a countryside mansion and live there forever. Though not even a month later, no news about her came ever again.
Illya, on the other hand, was sent to a church to become a nun.
(Edit: Added a Villainess for Lucas's route. I already made a future chapter about her but forgot to add it here... My bad.)
...
My brother is scary...
The fourth one is the royal guard commander's son, Luke von Raeven. In addition to having affinities to wind and earth magic, he's also incredibly skilled with swords and really smart.
Though in a glance, he looked a bit intimidating. Raven black hair and similarly dark pupils, in addition to his expressionless face, it was understandable why people would be scared to approach him. I actually didn't find him that intimidating when I played the game since one of my friends also had an intimidating look.
And just like him, Luke was really kind and gentle on the inside. He has a little sister called Noir von Raeven who's the villainess in the game (Wooo It's not me this time~).
She had the yamato nadeshiko look with her black hair and eyes. Needless to say, her outer appearance and inside were similarly cute.
I can understand why he would always be kind and gentle to her. He would even smile at her which was incredibly rare for his taciturn nature and shocked many people who played it.
Because he would dote on his sister, Noir eventually develop a brother complex and would become a hindrance to the heroine when she wants to capture Luke. Honestly, this was the route I enjoy the most.
Seeing Noir cling to her brother cutely like that was really cute and Hana would often imitate her by clinging onto me. And yes, I enjoyed it because of Noir's cuteness. Luke is not bad and his rare smiles were always a treat for sore eyes, but as expected, Noir really steals the spotlight for me.
Lastly, we have Wilhelm von Orythium. He's the son of a marquis who had incredible magic power. He has affinity towards Earth, Wind and Shadow. Yes, affinites to three elements and two of them were rare.
(AN: Changed one of Wilhelm's elements from Lightning to Earth. I just realized we have no one with earth as their main element (Luke is his secondary element) which is the straight counter to Alterisa's water magic. Becuase of his character's appearance and personality, I think Wilhelm would be the most suitable for it.)
It was no wonder that he would be considered a prodigy child. However sadly, he was shunned by his family because of his incredible magic power, especially his affinity to shadow.
He would always be called a monster and would be disowned immediately if the house had another heir. In fact, he would be sent to the palace's magic department to be trained. Though in reality, it was just like saying "If he could be useful then we'll take him back, else, stay there." It's honestly horrible...
Though the heroine gave him hope. Although she had greater magic power than him, she would always smile and face life up front without fear. She was just like a beacon of light to him and he would eventually fell in love with her.
In his route, Valerie, the daughter of the leader of royal court magician will be the villainess. She's a really cheerful and good girl who wanted to help Wilhelm with his magic. She used to practice her magic alone to try and become as great as her mother, but later on, her reason would be to try and help Wilhelm.
She's genuinely in love with Wilhelm, that's why when the heroine got close to him, she got jealous and a bit hotheaded.
Unfortunately, Wilhelm was in an unstable state of mind that time, so he wasn't able to see the real reason behind her action. He started avoiding her, and because she would still force her way to get close to him, he ended up hating her. Poor girl...
Again, Alterisa also made her appearance here and got killed or exiled again for the same reason as other routes...
Hah... Why is Alterisa the only one with the bad endings?! Honestly, if she didn't act like that, it would've probably been okay. Hah... I don't want to die and leave my parents early again...
I need to set a countermeasure against this. First, I don't want mother to die so I need to help my mother out and also get along with my brother.
Next, learn swordsmanship and magic so I can protect myself even if I'm exiled.
Third, learn everything you can from the education you get from being a duke's daughter so I can get a job in other countries.
Fourth, don't bully the heroine and get along with the capture targets! This is the most important! To prevent my destruction end, I can't aggravate the capture targets!
And yes, I said the capture targets, because even though they have other villainesses, Alterisa still somehow die or get exiled... This girl's luck is all over the place.
I will work hard to avoid these death flags!
Well... That's for when I can do literally anything on my own except for crying, eating and sleeping... Hah...
