Father told me many stories about Slade, and little of them were actually good...

A kingdom full of entertainment and wealth, but corrupted by greed and selfishness...

I imagined it to look a bit like our kingdom or Fantasia, but mother warned me that it looked like no kingdom I'd ever expect.

"Honey, did you know I met your father in Bonhall?" Mother laughed lightly.

"Bonhall? That's the 5th town under Slade right?" I asked curiously.

"That's right, I was on a mission at that time. Like your father said, Slade is crawling with assassins, thieves, and--," Our talk was rudely interrupted by the carriage suddenly jolting up.

"--bandits..." Mother continued, as we heard the coachman knock twice on the door.

"Speak of the devil... You girls stay here, I'll handle this," Father said bravely.

"Alright, father. Make it quick!" I beamed.

"And be. Careful. Got that? Victor?" Mother emphasized.

"Of course, Lili. Who do you think you're talking to? I'll handle this," he laughed confidently, kissing her forehead snd closing the carriage door.

Not even 10 seconds later we heard chains rattling.

"Lili! I can't handle this!!!" Father screamed, as I struggled to hold in my laughter.

"For goodness sake--! Snow, stay in here and don't look out the window, understood?" Mother said sternly.

"Y-Yes, mother-- pfft, s-sorry, I shouldn't be laughing," I struggled to get my words out due to choking and wheezing.

"I would be mad if your father wasn't so confident," she sighed.

I pressed my ear on the carriage wall to listen in.

"Hello, Lilian,"

"Oh gods... Not you again..." mother groaned.

Aaaand things just got intresting, my cue to look out the window.

A handsome roguish man with long red hair held my father, our coachman, and knights hostage.

"When are you going to give up on this absurd obsession with me? It's extremely problematic..." Mother scowled, taking out her daggers.

"Oh, don't be like that, Lili, you know I love you, and I know deep down, you still love me too, if not why would you come back to Slade? To me," he cood.

"Blegh! Ew, 10 in looks but 0 in personality," I said to myself.

"Who's in the carriage?" the red head asked angrily.

"You wouldn't want to know," Father responded before he was kicked in the stomach.

Without warning, the door of the carriage suddenly flew open and I was greeted by a young man who seemed to be 15, give or take.

"Snow!" mother screamed, being attacked by 16 bandits.

He froze when he saw me.

"Hello," I greeted.

"Spencer! What is it?!" the red head asked irritatedly.

He seemed to be in a daze as I realized he might be charmed by me.

"Do you mind?" I asked, putting my hand out so that he could help me out of the carriage.

He snapped out of it and helped me down hurriedly and awkwardly.

The red head approached me then went down on one knee, and squinted his eyes as if to examine me.

"You look like Lili," he realized.

"Yes? Are you a friend of mother's?" I asked, cluelessly.

He let out a small chuckle the put a knife to my throat.

"Hey, Victor. This yours?" he taunted.

Father couldn't do much since he was trapped in magic restricting chains.

"What do you think?" Father said darkly.

"She's kinda cute," he said as I smiled.

"Thank you! You're quite handsome as well!" I beamed.

"I like you," he smiled, removing the knife from my throat.

"I like you too!" I hugged him, sneakily taking his key in the process.

"Knock out Lilian. We're taking this one," he commanded, carrying me.

"Gah! Wait! I'm already 13! I can walk!" I flustered.

"Adorable. Hurry up over there!" he barked, as mother's workload increased from 20 to 26.

"Where are we going?" I asked cheerfully.

"To a place full of gold, jewelry and dresses. Now doesn't that sound nice?" the red head asked, stroking my head.

"Will we take mother and father?" I asked innocently.

"No, but you'll be with me. Call me Devon," he smiled.

"Alright! Can I go say bye to father?" I asked cheerfully as Devon smirked and looked at father tauntingly.

"Sure, go ahead. And tell him bye from me too," he smiled as I nodded and went to father.

"It seems I'll be going somewhere, father. Bye!" I said then hugged him.

"Where's the lock?" I whispered.

".... Give me the key..." he growled, a murderous aura surrounding him.

I dropped the key in his hand and turned to Devon.

"All done there, sweetheart?" Devon asked lovingly.

"Yes! You're definitely done," I grinned as I heard father free himself from his chains.

Devon went pale and initiated a retreat.

"Ursa..." Father summoned as the giant brown grizzly hunted down the bandits.

Mother finished her share of bandits, panting.

"Ugh, it's been so long since I've fought this many people... Wait... Is that... Ursa? Oh no..."

She walked over to me and sighed.

"Where's your father?" she asked with a hand on her hip.

"On a killing spree hunting Devon I think," I smiled as she rubbed her temples irritatedly.

"Why? Should I stop him?" I asked worriedly.

She thought about it for a moment.

"... Nah. Let's get back to the carriage and wait for your father," she sighed wearily.

"But what about the knights and the coachman?" I asked pointing to them.

They were still a bit shocked and looked at me weirdly.

"I don't think I can break those chains... You?" She asked as I nodded.

"Go ahead and rest, mother, I'll handle it," I smiled as she pat my hand.

"What a good girl," she laughed.

I turned around, "So who's first?" I asked as the knights flinched in fear.

"I'll go first, your highness," the coachman said calmly.

It took me a while to figure out how to break a chain that nullifies my magic every time I touch it.

Wind doesn't work too well with these chains either.

But with the help of Alistair's claws and Phen's fire we got it off of the coachman.

"Thank you, princess. Please forgive the behavior of these knights, it seems that they have yet seen the royal family in action," said the coachman who's clearly seen far worse.

"It's no problem, Barry. Do you want help now?" I asked the knights.

"Yes, Princess," they all responded.

After 30 minutes or so, father finally came back from the forest, blood splattered on his face.

"Your majesty," Barry greeted, handing father a hankerchief.

"Ah, thank you, Barry," father thanked, wiping his face.

"So did you catch Devon?" Mother asked bored.

"No... That stupid weasel got away again," Father growled as the carriage started moving again.

"It's alright, Victor. How did he even get out of jail? I thought he got a lifetime punishment?" Mother asked irritated.

"You know how easy it is to get out of prison in Slade... The knights are practically taught how to take bribes or die," father sighed.

"And, Snowflake, your behavior was quite.... Um, I just don't want you acting like--,"

"A shamless hoe?" I asked as father looked at me in shock.

"What?! No! Where did you hear those words? Was it Bellatrix?" father panicked.

"Surprisingly no, I heard Eliza say it. She was apologizing to Mary again for acting like a 'shamless hoe' and I put two and two together," I said a matter of factly.

"That's not what I meant," father sighed.

"Alright, let me rephrase that, you don't want me acting like a prostitute," I stated as father panicked even more.

"That's even worse! I--,"

"So back to hoe?" I asked as he just gave up.

"I give up... Thank you, Snowflake, for saving us," father sighed.

"Ah, there it is," I smiled as mother laughed.

"Lilian.... Why is she so hard to deal with now?" he asked tiredly.

"Hm? What are you talking about? I was way worse at her age, you should be thankful that she's only like this. Do you really think this is bad? Just wait till her red moon rises," mother said seriously as I burst out laughing.

"Oh, yes..." he groaned fearfully.

"Oh, don't worry father, it's perfectly normal for me as a woman," I said calming myself down.

"Oooh, I see, now when you put it like that... I'm even more scared than I'm supposed to be," he deadpanned.

Me and mother laughed our heads off and when we finally stopped I asked him the million dollar question.

"How did you even get caught?"
