"A long time ago, after the great war of races, the first king of Slade Shin was said to have seen the future," he began, pausing to study my expression.
I sat there blankly, listening closely.
"He claimed that his words were a prophecy, that one day a great darkness would threaten our race, but before that, 5 warriors would be born, the most powerful beasts of their generation, to fight the darkness, one from each kingdom," he continued.
"And how did you come up with the idea that I'm the warrior?" I laughed quietly.
"He said that not only would they stand out in terms of power, they would be extremely different from the rest of their bloodline. I wasn't exaggerating when I said you are the only woman of your bloodline!" he explained.
This plotline was starting to sound painfully familiar... Leonard with his red eyes, Damien with his orange wings, and Harry with the strange markings in his eyes and on his back... That only leaves the heroine... Oh wait... Now that I think about it...
"If you suspect me to be a warrior, then what about the other kingdoms? Are there others in my generation who stand out?" I asked curiously.
"Fantasia has a red eyed prince when it is common knowledge that no beast has ever been born with red eyes. Flameheart's 8th prince has orange wings instead of red and...." he trailed off.
"What about Slade and Xander?" I pressed.
"It could be the prince of Xander... But they say it was the Princess that held the power. But she was kidnapped a long time ago," Minoru said sadly.
'Oh my gods, the heroine is the missing phoenix princess... This is the plotline of the second game' I almost cried at the thought.
I decided to mess around with the plot already, don't complain. I recited to myself.
"The people of Slade think of the warriors as bad omens, the bringers of darkness..." he grimaced.
"But I thought we were born to 'fight' the darkness," I said, baffled.
"It's just another scare tactic from the higher ups. Truthfully, they're afraid of the power of the warriors. They've gone so far as to tell my consorts to avoid giving birth... If a warrior really was born in Slade... They'd get rid of them... And what if... They've already succeeded?" he buried his head in his hands in frustration.
He doesn't even know that Harry exists... And he's not supposed to know until the second game.
And it was best that way, I'll bring Harry back when the power struggle within Slade has diminished.
"I see... And if you support a warrior like me... Then they'd have no problem getting rid of you," he nodded solemnly.
"I understand... I can wait... Just knowing that the truth is you want to help me is enough to call this trip a success," I comforted.
"You're very kind, Princess," he smiled, his tired eyes sparking with hope.
"Do you have to send me away in a more flamboyant manner? Or?" I asked with a small laugh.
"I'm afraid I have to," he chuckled.
"But before you go, I have a favor," he said, brightening up instantly.
"What is it?" I asked, getting a bad feeling.
"I want you to fix my sons," he asked calmly, as if just asking me to hand him a pen from the table.
"Hahaha.... You're joking... THAT'S YOUR JOB!" I whisper shouted.
"I can't exactly act like a good father with this many targets on my head! And since you're a princess from another kingdom they'll think twice about laying a finger on you," he whispered back.
"Then send a tutor or something! Why do I have to be your sons' therapist?!" I hissed quietly.
"Then that'll be too obvious! If their grandparents find out that I'm trying to straighten them up then they'll do something I regret! I need you to do it!" he complained.
"What do you mean FIX them?! Are they broken or something?!" I whisper screamed.
"Very much so, yes," he nodded.
"Don't nod! I have better things to do than teaching your sons the meaning of morality," I glared.
"Look, aside from my two sons with Aina the rest are douches! You've seen their sisters! Their mothers aren't exactly 'good people' in fact they're all malicious snakes!" he continued.
We bickered quietly for a while before he said something that actually made me think about accepting.
"If I send anyone else male or female, they'll be chewed and spit out, worse case they'll die, and I didn't want to do this but if they do, the blood is on you," he said threateningly.
He was desperate I could see that much. Trying to guilt trip me.
"If not all 4 then just Akihiko... He has the best moral compass compared to his other douche brothers," Minoru bargained.
As much as he wanted to be a good father, the mothers who are loyal to their families wouldn't let him raise their sons with a straight moral compass.
And if their grandparents found out that they were straightened up, they wouldn't hesitate to target their own flesh and blood.
It was a bad situation to say the least.
"... Fine... I'll be here for a week. If I can't 'fix' them then that's it, I'm done," I frowned.
"Really?! And what happens if you succeed?" He asked excitedly.
"We can tell them the truth, and you'll have a big family," I smiled tiredly.
He smiled brightly in return. That was what he wanted. To bond with his sons.
He quickly knelt and pressed his forehead to the floor. "Thank you!"
"Don't thank me yet," I sighed.
"So can I go now?" I asked irritated.
"One more thing," he smiled as I groaned in annoyance.
"I am well aware of what kind of father Victor is, so I'm going to have to write up a contract for you to sign so that he doesn't interfere with our plan," he said happily, scribbling runes on a piece of paper.
"Alright, alright," I agreed, snatching the piece of paper from his hand.
"Autillia," I chanted.
The runes turned into letters that I could read.
1. If Victor is to beat me up then Snow's magic will be restricted for 3 months.
I raised a brow at Minoru as he scratched his head sheepishly.
"I mean if you do get restricted then it would be your father's fault," he grinned as I rolled my eyes.
2. Snow will be in service for 1 week, any less, then her magic will be restricted for a year.
"You have got to be kidding me," I glared.
"Your father will try to pull you out early if I don't put in that condition!" he whined.
3. If Victor Sterling, in any way, interferes with Snow's work then Snow's magic will be restricted for half a year.
"I don't mind that one," I nodded.
"Right?" he asked brightly.
4. If Victor Sterling tries to lay a finger on any friend or family of Slade Minoru Snow's magic will be restricted for 3 months.
"If all the rules are broken the total amount of years without magic would be 2...." I frowned.
"Only if your father breaks them," Minoru smiled.
5. This contract ends in one week.
"I, Snow Sterling, agree to the terms," I verbally agreed and the paper glowed.
Now all that's left is to give something of value to Minoru.
My hand instantly went to my black snakeweed necklace that the twins gifted me, and Leo's pendant hanging on it.
But I wasn't going to give it to anyone. So I took off my earrings and gave them to Minoru.
The paper turned into a golden dust and entered the earrings.
"The contract is complete," Minoru smiled.
"NOW, can I PLEASE, go?" I asked again.
"Alright, alright, you're going to have to put on one last show," he said sitting down and clicking a button under his desk.
The guards instantly came in as I started my little act.
I glared at Minoru as he looked at me tauntingly.
"Show the little princess to her room. She's clearly tired from walking in her big girl dress," he mocked.
"Get your hands off me you imbeciles!" I screamed, stomping out of the room on my own.
"Don't touch me! What did I just say!? When they said walnuts were good for your brain, they didn't mean you could switch your brain out for one! So get your grubby hands off me, nut head!" I screamed and insulted the guards with whatever I could come up with.
They didn't hear over my shouting, but I could hear Minoru dying from laughter because of my behavior.
