Time went by quickly for Lily in the last year. She had gotten closer to Beatrice and the other young ladies. They ended up having tea together at least once a week. Sadly sometimes Elizabeth was there and made rude comments, but Lily never thought too deeply about it and just enjoyed her time. The fiery redhead had some weird personal vendetta towards her and Lily just couldn't understand it.

She didn't take magic lessons anymore but instead spent those days of the week spending time trying to come up with different enchantments. She already had plenty of money and didn't see the need to sell more, but had made it a hobby of hers. She loved experimenting with different enchantments. It was an easy way to pass the time.

Unfortunately Lily still didn't like the idea of meddling with politics even though Chris told her he would handle that. She would feel useless if the time ever came when she was needed for such a discussion and wouldn't be able to handle it. She had decided to read as much as she could and often followed her mother around to observe her duties as the lady of the house. It wasn't the same as a queen but it was good enough to get a picture of how it all worked.

The queen had even sent a few letters and invited Lily over for tea and chats. She was terrified at first, but the queen simply wanted a daughter to dress up and dote on. She had grown to love the girl as her own in such a short time. When she had seen her son and Lily dancing and the way her son looked at her, she knew she would be queen one day.

The wolves had grown large enough to be labeled as protectors now and would often be seen walking alongside her family members in and out of the estate. Due to the many sightings, especially with the duke walking around with Lillith. She was very large and intimidating. The Duke's family was quickly recognized as beast tamers even though only Lily herself could tame them.

When Lily finally reached the age of sixteen she was granted permission to start school. There was a school in each four kingdoms. Although commoners were allowed to go, they had to either have the backing of a noble to join magic classes or they had to be strong enough to be considered knights. Most of the time it was only nobles that took the actual magic lessons and commoners who were trained to use weapons to protect their own lands and kingdom if the need arose.

Lily was ecstatic about getting to go to school. She had never been given the choice in her past life and had always been home-schooled. She was nervous but knew she had befriended most of the young noble ladies and that her brother and Chris would be there too. Since Chris was her age she would most likely be put in his classes, but her brother was a year older than her and would only remain at the academy for another year before he would start taking up some of the duke's duties.

The duke had sat down with her in his office as he explained to her that there was no reason to hide her blessing, but to try and be discrete about the amount of mana she could use. All the nobles were already aware she had more than one attribute, so she shouldn't try hiding it, but she also needed to not come across as overly powerful. Even though that was exactly what she was. Overpowered.

Lily was given multiple necklaces that contained the same jewels she used for enchantments. She enchanted them to steal a portion of her magic constantly so that she wouldn't have to continuously use magic to keep it calm. Unfortunately, the design had a small flaw. They had a limit to how much magic they could hold. Once they were full she would have to switch them out, but this idea was still better than the alternative of using magic like she usually did in front of her new classmates.

Finally, her familiars had to stay at the estate. While contracted familiars were allowed on the grounds and they could still visit her, there was simply nowhere they could stay. It saddened her, but she knew she would still be coming home often and would still get to see them. Alex's wolf shadow attended school with her brother. He was still not fully grown and only the size of a large dog so he would sit in classes with him and accompany him to wherever he went.

She even got used to her new elemental spirit familiars. She found that they love it when she calls for them to ask for assistance. She had her fire spirit light all the candles in the dutchy every morning and her water spirit to make sure the gardens and her vegetable garden were always watered.

She tried finding even the smallest of things to call for them as she could see how happy it made them all to be asked for favors from her. She didn't fully understand why they wanted to help her so much but accepted it nevertheless.

Tomorrow, Alex and I will be taking a carriage to the academy. They would sleep there in dorms and come back to visit home on weekends and days off. As they were nobles and had their duties to take care of, the academy was very understanding and often let students leave if important noble matters came up.

Her mind drifted to what her academy life would be like. She had her brother and Chris, so she knew she would be fine, but that didn't mean she didn't feel anxious still. She already had a reputation according to Chris, the biggest question is what would that reputation look like.
