The next morning Lily's maids took full advantage of the chests that had been enchanted to hold much more than normal items. They had packed over half the dresses she owned, including matching shoes and jewelry for every dress. Although Lily didn't fully understand why since they had to wear a school uniform. Nobles should always be prepared she guessed. They had managed to fit a variety of her favorite perfumes and soaps along with it, all in one chest.

Another chest contained different magic orbs gifted to her by the king and her family. Anything she thought she would need for her enchantment experiments, and plenty of her favorite books. She was well aware that the school had a library, but she wanted to take them either way. Thankfully both chests had been enchanted to stay light as if filled with air instead of heavy gowns and crystals, or the maids wouldn't have been able to lift them afterwards.

Alex and Lily said their goodbyes to their parents and staff members before climbing into their carriage and heading off towards the school campus. Opening the small box of cookies one of the maids gifted her before they left, she lifted it towards her brother.

"Thanks."

He said as he smiled at her and grabbed a cookie. Lily grabbed the cookie that she had eaten as she watched the trees pass by them.

"What's school like?"

"It's different for commoners and nobles. We have had tutors for different studies and magical attributes so we aren't technically on the same level of learning as they are. Because of this the school decided to test every student every year and put them in classes based on their level. If you score high enough on the entrance exam then you could be excused from some classes." Lily nodded her head as he continued.

"We should have at least a day to settle in and for me to show you around before the test though, so don't worry." He said with a smirk.

She rolled her eyes at him.

"I'm not worried, I've just never been to school before. I don't know what to expect."

"The basic classes students take consist of history, math, magical science and theory, battle strategies, and a few others. There are also clubs at the school that students are encouraged to join. In a few months, the school will be hosting a tournament against the other schools in the other three kingdoms. You have to have at least one teacher's approval that you're at a high enough level before you can enter."

Her eyes sparkled at the news.

"What kind of tournament?"

He laughed as he watched his little sister barely contain herself in her seat. She looked ready to jump from her chair and shake him until she got her answers.

"It's pretty much just a tournament for the schools to show off their strongest students. There are sword fights and magic displays. It's all about raw talent so magical objects are not allowed."

"And the winner?"

"They usually announce the prize the day of the tournament. Although I think it's been different every year. The kid that won last year was given a silver sword I think."

He continued to explain what he could to her about the school and any rules she may need to know. Lily had always been composed and ladylike in social gatherings so he didn't need to worry about that. He is more worried for anyone who dares to anger her.

When they made it to the school, someone had moved their chest to their rooms for them. He had done what he said and showed her every room she would need to know. The cafeteria, the training grounds, the library, and even some of the classrooms even though they didn't know what classes she would be in.

She made it to her room just as the sun began to set so she quickly put a few necessities away and went to bed. Her bedroom already had similar furniture to her bedroom back at home. Her mother made sure to order everything she would need to feel at home there and had some staff members set it up before their arrival. She knew how to think of everything.

Lily was awoken by one of her familiars the next morning. Her wind spirit floated above her head tickling her nose with her feet.

"It's time to wake up mistress. Your first day of school is today. We must get you ready."

"Yes, mistress needs to look her best for today!"

Lily turned her head and noticed her water spirit standing on her desk watering a small plant that sat there. She smiled at them before getting out of bed and putting on her school uniform.

Each noble had their family crest on their blazer but besides that, all the student's uniforms were pretty similar. Red was the school color after the kingdom's main attribute, fire. Her spirits helped braid her long black hair to the side as she got dressed. When she was satisfied she left her room with both her familiars sitting on her shoulders. She enjoyed their presence as much as they did hers.

She had met her brother waiting for her outside of her dorm building. He had explained that he didn't want to risk her being late after getting lost. Lily thought he had just missed her while being away so much for school the last year. Not questioning him out loud she looped her hand in his arm as they went to the maid auditorium.

A man looking in his sixties or seventies greeted all the students and explained what was going to happen. They would be separated into groups for the entrance exam and then given a schedule the next day for their classes based on how they did. He seemed tired and in pain from how he walked back off the stage. Lily wasn't given much time to try and asses what was wrong with him before she was being guided into a new room for her first test.
