"Squeak, squeak, squeak!!"
The fluffy creature, failing to bite anyone and taking quite a hit in return, screamed furiously. Who would have thought that even after knocking her unconscious, leaving her defenseless, something like this would appear to foil its plans?
It raised all the spikes on its body and rammed into the protective barrier several times in quick succession.
Panting heavily, it found that no matter how hard it tried, the barrier seemed rooted in place, unbreakable. It could only watch helplessly as the female cultivator lay there, unable to take another bite.
Naturally, the creature had no idea how powerful Zhang Yiyi's life-saving jade talisman was, a protection that automatically activated when she was in danger. As the prized disciple of Jiang Heng, there was no shortage of life-saving treasures for her.
As the creature grew more frustrated, almost on the verge of exploding from anger, it decided to unleash several powerful bolts of lightning, hoping to finish off the female cultivator swiftly.
However, things didn't go as planned. Watching the female cultivator still lying there unharmed, the creature was so enraged it almost fainted, jumping and stamping in frustration.
But in truth, Zhang Yiyi had already woken up.
The moment the strange fluffy creature had lunged at her to kill her, triggering the talisman, she had regained consciousness.
Still, Zhang Yiyi didn't rush into action. Instead, she calmly remained in her spot, pretending to stay unconscious, all the while using her divine sense to observe the strange creature.
After all, the talisman from her master had already been triggered, and it could hold for at least half an hour. Anyone below the Great Ascension stage wouldn't be able to harm her in that time.
That thought pained her.
The talisman could only be used three times, and who would have thought that her bad luck would lead to it being wasted on this weird fluffy creature, causing her to lose her self-defense capabilities for a moment.
"Squeak!! Squeak!!! Squeak!!..."
Out of ideas and still unable to touch even a hair on Zhang Yiyi's head, the fluffy creature finally sat down on the ground in frustration.
The more it thought about it, the more wrong it felt, so much so that its usually explosive temper lost all steam.
Strangely enough, although the sound it constantly made was always the same "squeak squeak," Zhang Yiyi inexplicably found herself able to understand the different meanings behind each "squeak."
After eavesdropping for a while, she was certain that this fluffy creature was the same thing that had hidden in the shadows and ambushed them over the lotus pond.
She also knew that it was this creature that had taken advantage of the special properties of the lotus pond water to interfere with her senses and used space manipulation techniques to bring her here.
It was clear that this creature had been trying every possible way to kill her, only to fail repeatedly, growing increasingly frustrated, even to the point of being on the verge of tears!
Ugh, Zhang Yiyi found herself both amused and speechless. This ferocious yet childish creature really was, as Zhou Yi had said, just a young beast—not mature at all!
A spatial thunder beast, even as a cub, was still a legendary fierce beast, yet here it was, almost crying out of frustration. Where was its dignity?
"Alright, stop crying. Even if you cry yourself to death, you still won't be able to touch a single hair on me."
Having seen enough, Zhang Yiyi decided to stop pretending. She flipped over and sat up, giving the fluffy creature a disdainful glare with her large, beautiful eyes.
"Squeak!"
The creature, crying in frustration, was startled by her sudden voice and instinctively jumped back a great distance.
When it realized that the female cultivator had woken up, its small eyes glared at her fiercely, as if ready to attack her on the spot.
"Not crying? Who are you trying to fool? If you're not crying, then what's that coming out of your eyes? It can't be drool, right?"
Zhang Yiyi found it even more amusing when the creature instinctively denied crying.
"Squeak!!Squeak!!Squeak!!!"
The creature, angry at her sharp words, bared its teeth and cursed at her furiously. It looked fierce, but Zhang Yiyi wasn't intimidated in the slightest.
"Oh, you're going to bite me to death if I keep talking? Ha! Big words! You've already tried biting me and striking me with lightning, but after all that, you couldn't even touch a hair on my head. And now you're still talking tough?"
Zhang Yiyi bluntly called out the creature's bluff, not worried at all about provoking it.
Despite its injuries, the creature had used up a great deal of energy to bring her here with spatial magic and had attacked her impenetrable protective barrier for so long. Now, with its remaining strength, it probably couldn't even summon another bolt of lightning, let alone perform spatial techniques again.
Zhang Yiyi suddenly found the creature's stupidity somewhat endearing. It was so dumb that she almost felt bad about bullying it further.
"Squeak!!Squeak!!Squeak!!!"
The creature, enraged by Zhang Yiyi's words, nearly passed out again. Without thinking, it began shouting back: "You foolish human! When has this young master ever spoken big words? Don't think that just because you're hiding behind that turtle shell of a talisman, I can't kill you! Just wait, I'll show you soon enough, I'll—"
"Stop, stop, shut up. You calling yourself 'young master' is ridiculous."
Zhang Yiyi wasn't having it and immediately threw two punches at the fluffy creature. "You're a spatial thunder beast. What are you doing pretending to be some bigshot? Have some self-respect! Weren't you just crying in front of me a moment ago?"
Caught off guard, the fluffy creature, already exhausted, couldn't dodge in time and was hit square in the face by Zhang Yiyi's punches.
"Ahhh! You lowly human! How dare you hit this young master's face! I won't let you get away with this!"
Enraged, the creature used the last bit of its strength to charge at Zhang Yiyi once more.
"Bang!"
Yet again, the creature crashed into her protective barrier and was thrown to the ground, writhing in pain, nearly losing half its life.
"Hahahaha, hahaha..."
Zhang Yiyi couldn't help it. She laughed loudly, pointing at the fluffy creature as it lay on the ground, struggling to get up.
"Can't you give it a rest already? You've crashed into it so many times and still want to keep trying. Are you stupid or what?"
"You! You..."
The creature wanted to shout back, but its strength was fading. Its once fierce demeanor had almost completely vanished, though it didn't seem to realize it.
Suddenly, the creature froze, its small eyes widening in realization.
"You—you—you..." After a long pause, the fluffy creature finally raised its little paw and pointed at Zhang Yiyi, astonished. "You—you can understand what I'm saying?"
