ROB DIXON POV

I leaned back on the leather desk chair, nursing the glass of brandy in my hand as I smirked to one of my associates.

“Holly actually came through?” I asked in disbelief, a swell of pride building up inside of me for the girl “She managed to kill an agent?”

I let out a laugh at the thought, junkie Holly had actually proven to be useful. I always thought she was a little clingy, looking at me like the father she probably never had just because I took her off the street with some bullshit about a better life. Truth be told, I needed dealers and she had hit rock bottom in her life. It was a win win situation.

Jeremy, one of the managers for this operation who made sure that the dealers were getting the gear on a regular basis, smirked back at me.

“Yeah I just watched the footage from the CCTV in that room, she shot the bastard in a room full of his friends. Bled to death while the others cried over him. I made a copy you can watch it later, it was quite amusing.” Jeremy let out a laugh, before he looked at me gravely “The footage shows Holly getting killed as well.”

I took a drink of the Brandy and waved my hand dismissively, the fact that she was dead not effecting me in the slightest “There’s always more helpless junkies where she came from. What’s the news about locating where the agents are?”

“They are still in their house.” Jeremy informed me, and I widened my eyes in surprise.

“They went back there? They know we know where they live. Are they stupid?”

Jeremy shook his head “Their security has been upped to the max. They have kitted the entire house up with trip wires, security codes and fingerprint authentication. We have more chance of breaking into the white house than getting in there again.”

I scowled in annoyance that those children seemed to have outsmarted us. “What about Jace? Is he still with them?”

Jeremy nodded his head “He left with them and I doubt he will leave them. He seems to have quite a torch for the little blonde one.”

I rolled my eyes in disgust at the thought “The idiot always did. When he was younger at least he was man enough to fuck her about a bit, but now he actually seems to be in love with her. Make’s your breakfast want to come up.”

The idea made me sick. I never liked that girl even before she turned into an agent. I met her a few times since she was always around our house, but hardly saw her because her and Jace would disappear up in his room. I was quite proud of the boy because I thought he was using some shy girl for a few quickies, but the more she kept coming back and the look in his eyes whenever he looked at her got me worried she meant more to him than just a quickie.

Then I found out they had split up cos he had cheated on her, I was so relieved because I thought he had come to his senses. But now she was some little murdering outspoken mouthy bitch and her and Jace still seemed to be together. What the hell is it going to take to make that boy forget about that tramp?

“Sir, we seem to have a problem.” The intercom spoke, breaking me from my thoughts.

I was currently in one of my offices where I kept up my front as a bar owner. The whole building was the main office, where the files and gear was kept before it was delivered to the dealers. Few people knew about this building and what happened in it, that’s why there rarely were any problems. Security also made it impossible for problems to happen.

So what the hell was going on?

I leaned forward and pressed the button to speak to my receptionist “What is it?”

“Guard 1 and 2 have left their posts at the back door.” She informed me, and I furrowed my brows at Jeremy as he gave me a confused look. Security just doesn’t leave their posts.

“Why have they left their posts?” I asked her, my voice growing annoyed at the defiance of my staff.

“They seem to have disappeared; we don’t know where they have gone.”

I twisted my chair around to face the monitors on the wall behind me which showed the entire buildings CCTV on a live stream. I looked at the camera which showed the back door and noticed that the guards had indeed disappeared. Their machine guns however were both on the floor outside the door still.

A sudden movement on one of the screens caught my eye, but when I focused my attention on it there was nothing there. Then, on the same camera screen, I saw a black shadow dark across the screen again behind one of the other security guards. As the shadow ran across, I saw their arm dart out and the next thing I knew the security guard dropped to the floor clearly dead.

My eyes widened as I suddenly realised we had an intruder.

“Jeremy is the door locked?” I asked him, not taking my eyes off the screens.

I heard him move behind me obviously going to lock the door, and I heard the security code go in as well as the noise the padlock made once Jeremy did the fingerprint lock to make sure no fucker was getting in here. He was one of the few who could get into this part of the building because it is fingerprint protected.

“It is now. Do you know who it is?” Jeremy asked as he walked back over to me and began to look at the screens himself.

My eyes were on the camera for the hallway that led to the room outside. One of my other associates was walking down it oblivious of what was going. He walked past one of the statues that decorated the hallway, and because the camera was positioned at an annoying angle all we were able to see was someone throw a chain around his neck from behind the statue and pull him towards them, choking the life out of him.

His body thrashed and all that was visible was his torso and legs, but pretty soon his legs stopped kicking as all the fight had been choked out of him. The person behind the statue let go of the chain and he dropped to the ground lifeless. My eyes squinted as I kept my eyes on the statue, not being able to see who was behind it but trying my damn hardest.

An arm came out from the statue, and the next thing I knew I was being flipped off by whoever was behind it.

My jaw clenched in anger as I realised this person was on my territory. They were in my building and they were giving me the bird?! Who in their right minds would be that disrespectful and stupid…

My mind wondered away as it came to me, the only person I knew who would even think about defying me and giving me the one finger salute while they were at it was the little tramp who I had been mind ranting about less than 5 minutes ago.

It couldn’t be though. They had no idea where we were, and she would have to be extremely skilled to be able to get into this building. There was no way a little bimbo like that would outsmart-

“Oi, Dickhead you going to let me in or am I going to have to do the door in?” The voice on the intercom spoke, and I knew straight away that definitely was not my secretary anymore.

I couldn’t help the smirk that tugged at my lips as I realised it really was her.

Guess I underestimated the girl. I was actually slightly impressed.

I turned to the intercom and pressed the button.

“Faith, what a lovely surprise it is for you to grace us with your presence.” I spoke, the humour clear in my voice.

“I know, my presence is like a ray of fucking sunshine. Now, are you going to let me in or do I have to make an appointment?” She asked sarcastically, and I shook my head at her arrogance.

She really has changed from the girl who blushed when I first met her and made a comment about not wanting to be a granddad so young.

“Tell me, are you with your friends and my defiant son?” I asked, my smirk widening as I said the next bit “Actually, I guess not all of your friends could make it.”

She didn’t reply for a few seconds as she clearly understood the dig I was making at her dead friend.

Finally, the intercom came back on “You’re a dead man Dixon.”

The tone of her voice knocked me back a little. The sarcasm from before was gone, and there was nothing but hatred and anger in her tone. I smirked as I got the reaction I wanted, but I am not going to lie I did start to panic a little because the girl seemed to know her stuff. Hell she had managed to even get in the building, I wouldn’t be surprised if she managed to get into this room.

I made the decision I was going to the panic room that was behind this office. I got to my feet and looked at Jeremy, and he immediately realised what I was doing. The panic room was like another office, but to get in it you need to know the code, as well as have fingerprint authentication and even have your iris scanned in order to get in. Only few people could do it, two of them being in this room now. So unless the girl had the same fingerprints as us and the same eye, she was shit out of luck of entering that panic room.

I was halfway across the room when the intercom came back on.

“I’d cover your ears Mr Dixon.” Her voice spoke again, and I froze as I began to wonder in my head what her words meant.

That’s when the door to the office blew up.

The force of the explosion knocked me against the wall, and I covered my head with my hands as a reflex. Jeremy had also been knocked off of his feet and was currently on the floor with his hands over his head to protect him. My eyes went to the thing that was once my office door, and once the smoke from the explosion began to lessen, I saw a figure appear over the rubble.

I didn’t even blink before I ran towards the panic room door, entering the code as quickly as my fingers could and almost messing up because I was in such a panic. I knew I had to get into this room and fast, because this girl was on a mission. And this mission seemed to end with me being dead.

Once I had pressed the code in I flung the door open and slammed it behind me, the last thing I saw was Faith walking over to Jeremy and yanking him to his feet by his hair while her right hand held a knife that I knew she was itching to hold against my throat.

As soon as the door was closed I entered the code again, activating the lock on it so that the only person who was able to get in would have to have the right iris and fingerprints, and even though Jeremy had both of those things and was on the other side of the door, he would not give into that woman and let her in. One thing I had to give to Jeremy, he was loyal and would die protecting his friend.

Foolish man.

I breathed a sigh of relief as I stepped back from the door, looking around the room and instantly relaxing as I knew this was my refuge. Getting in here was impossible, even for little miss Lara Croft outside who seems to be surprising me more and more by the minute.

“Sit tight in there Dixon, I’ll be with you in a minute!” I heard her voice yell from the other side, and I let out a laugh at how confident she sounded. Even if she pulled another bomb trick on the door, there was no chance it was budging. It was called a panic room for a reason. No bombs, guns or bulldozers were getting in here anytime soon.

“If you say so love.” I called back out at her in a laugh, getting cockier because I knew that I was safe.

I walked over to the desk that was on the other side of the room and took out the pager that was there for emergencies just like this.

I had a small army of people willing to protect me, it was time I called some of them in to finally finish the little tramp outside because I had no doubt she would stay out there until I came out.

And let me tell you, with her outside with that itchy trigger finger of hers I was not leaving this room anytime soon.

Once I made the call for the back up, I breathed a sigh of relief and sat on the chair, relaxing as I knew all I had to do now was wait it out.

It was barely 5 minutes before the beep of the lock on the door rang around the room, and the door of the panic room flew open.

My eyes widened as I saw her stood in the doorframe, shock overcoming my face as I realised the room that was impossible to enter had just been entered by little miss Lara Croft herself.

She took a step in, her jeans and arms were covered in blood which was also smudged on her cheek as she strolled into the room like she owned the place, dusting herself off casually.

She threw something in my direction, which I caught out of reflex. I looked at what was now in my hand and almost gasped as I saw the eyeball that was staring back at me. I threw it onto the floor like it was on fire, having to hold down sick as I realised I was just holding Jeremy’s actual eye in the palm of my hand.

So she had managed to get into the room by just simply doing the usual process of scanning the iris, and she did that by taking Jeremy’s eye ball out of his head. My mind wondered how she had managed to get past the fingerprint part of the code, but that question was quickly answered as I looked up at her again.

“Howdy.” She greeted with a smirk, waving at me casually with the dismembered hand that Jeremy’s corpse was now obviously missing.
