"Gabbs you are not going to believe all the stuff they have in this house, I think I'm in heaven" Nessa yelled out, walking towards Santiago and I from the other side of the hallway.

Sofi, Alex and Daniel were right behind her, I could see Alex pointing out some stuff to the girls so I assumed the group were having small tour so the girls could find their way around the large mansion.

"You'll have to show me around so I won't get lost" I told her as soon as we reached the small group.

"It's already late and you girls haven't gotten any sleep, do you want me to show you to your room?" Santiago turned to look at me.

I shook my head. "No thanks, I think the girls and I will have a sleepover so we'll all stay in one room for tonight."

"We're staying in your room" Nessa pointed a finger at me. "Yours is the biggest one, we already know how to get there."

"Lead the way"

"I think we all need to talk about what happened, how bout' we arrange a meeting for tomorrow?" Daniel said, looking at Sofi with a hopeful glint on his eyes.

"A meeting?" she scoffed. "I can't believe we never figured out what you guys were. Who the hell calls for a meeting!?"

Everyone turned to look at her with a shocked expression, it was very rare of her to be rude to someone. This whole situation must have upset her a lot for her to be acting like this with Daniel, but in a way I'm glad she isn't okay with all of this. They all lied to us about something that's a big part of their lives.

He turned to her with his lips pressed in a tight line. "Please, just hear us out. If you decide to still be mad at us after I explain everything I'll leave you alone and respect your decision."

Sofi kept ignoring him, and me feeling completely tired with the thought of a comfortable bed in mind, had to step up and get this guy to shut up so we could be on our way. " Yeah, Yeah. We can all talk tomorrow lover boy." I waved my hand.

"Gabby!" she growled, shaking her head.

"Dude I'm tired. I just want to go get some sleep!" I whined, leaning my head on Nessa's shoulder. Santiago had a hand over his mouth, probably trying to keep himself from laughing at my actions.

Sofia sighed and nodded. "Whatever. Let's go."

"Thank you" Daniel breathed out a sigh of relief, sending a grateful nod my way.

Turning on my heel I followed Vanessa who was literally skipping all the way to my room. I didn't even bother to glance around at my surroundings, feeling totally drained out of energy. I walked into a large white door after my friends and found myself standing in the middle of a large gorgeous room, the walls were a light green color and there was a large king sized bed in the back center of the room. I also had a small living room area where I had a plasma T.V. and a small couch with a side table and a telephone on top which I assumed could be used to make calls but everything that was spoken through the phone would be supervised by some creeper who would immediately alert the bosses if we said anything about our location.

I know exactly how the minds of these drug dealers work.

"Oh the perks of being a rich ass" Nessa let her body fall on my bed.

I walked over to the bed and stripped down to my undergarments. My brother told us they had sent people to the hotel to get our stuff but they haven't mentioned anything about our belongings being here already, and at the moment I don't feel like hunting them down....so we'll just have to do with sleeping in our underwear.

I had to take the right side of the bed, Sofi was stuck in the middle and Ness had the left side.

"So how was it meeting the Big Boss?" Ness turned her body over to face my side, her eyes fixated on me with excitement.

"I was nervous and scared" I admitted. "He's actually a pretty cool guy, but you can tell when it comes down to business he's very serious about it."

"This whole situation makes me feel like we're part of a Godfather movie...except this is the Mexican Mafia version."

I rolled my eyes. Only Vanessa would make a comparison like that.

Except this is all real, which makes it a whole lot scarier.

"This whole thing sucks" Sofi pouted, banging her head on the headboard. "I finally meet a guy that I fall head over heels for only to find out he's part of a Cartel just like my ex-boyfriend."

"Oh!" her sister turned to Sofia looking worried. "How awkward is that?! You have Daniel and Alex here. This is two times worse for you, sis."

"Tell me about it. But I don't want anything to do with either of them, I just want to get out of here and go back home."

"About that" I said, biting my lip nervously. "The bosses told me that we'll have to stay here for a few weeks."

They both groaned.

"But the good news is that my mom will be here!"

"What?!"

I nodded. "My mom asked Dad to send someone to get her, she wants to be with us...you know, make sure that we're alright."

"That's so like your mom." Nessa chuckled.

Sofia yawned and closed her eyes. "I feel a lot better knowing she'll be here."

"Me too"

"We need to get some rest" I whispered. Putting my hands under my head and turning away from them. "Goodnight girls..."

"Good Night"

"Buenas Noches"

*~*~

I woke up again at around 2 am in the morning to the sound of my stomach growling, I pushed my hand down hard on it trying to make the sound less noisy. Pshh no use.

I hadn't eaten anything since yesterday afternoon, no wonder my stomach was going crazy.

Deciding to go to the kitchen and get a glass of milk, I pushed myself out of bed, slipped on my clothes as quietly as I could and tip-toed way to the door.

The hallway outside was really dark with only the light of the moon coming in from a few of the windows. I walked down the familiar pathway, knowing that the staircase was on the right side. I hurried down the long stairs but as soon as I reached the bottom I had no idea where to go. After a few minutes of debating which way to go I decided to take a left, down by the end of the hallway I noticed it was really dark but I could also make out the outlines of the counters and a few cabinets.

Bingo.

As I got closer I could hear noise coming from the kitchen so I immediately got on my knees and crawled my way over to the entrance. I was surprised to find someone standing in front of the fridge, searching for something to eat. It was obvious the person was a man, judging by the muscular back and short light brown- blondish hair, and if I say so myself a very firm looking butt.

He turned around to throw a pack of ham on the counter and my eyes widened when I saw who it was.

Santiago.

Thankfully he hadn't noticed me so I stayed glued to my spot on the floor as I watched him pull out food from the fridge.

"Si no le contesto se desespera." he started to sing quietly but still loud enough for me to hear him.

I nearly burst out laughing when he began doing a few dance moves as he opened a bag of bread.

Who would of though Santiago Bustamante likes singing and dancing while he makes himself a sandwich!

"Piensa que con otra estoy, haciendo lo que hacia a ella. Ea, ea, ea!" he continued to sing, having no idea that I was watching him.

When he finished making his food he took a seat in one of the stools and switched over to humming the tune of the song.

"That was a nice show" I spoke out loud, making my presence known.

In the blink of an eye he stood up from his seating spot, the stool he was sitting on fell to the floor with a loud bang and my hand flew up to my chest when I saw the gun in his hand...pointed straight at me.

He immediately put it down when he realized it was me. "Don't ever sneak up on me like that!" he growled, his eyes blazing with anger.

"What the hell!?Who in the hell carries a gun with them into the kitchen?"

"Drug dealers do" he growled. Bending down to pick up the stool and taking a seat again.

"That was scary" I put a hand on my forehead, taking a step forward to lean against the counter. "You scared the shit out of me!"

"Like I said" he spoke in a dangerously low voice. "Don't ever sneak up on me like that, I have fast reflexes. You could have been dead right now."

"I'm sorry, I had no idea this would happen."

Santiago stood up from his chair and walked slowly over to me. "Don't apologize, I should apologize for pointing that thing at you."

"O-Okay"

He gave me an apologetic look. "You look a little pale, I did scare the shit out of you, didn't I?"

"I don't know" I shrugged, trying to make a joke out of the situation. "I'll have to check my pants."

That made him laugh. "I really am sorry, Gabriela"

"I'm fine"

"What are you doing down here so late, anyways?" he raised an eyebrow.

I smiled sheepishly and walked to the other side of the counter. "I was really hungry so I came down here to find something to eat."

"Want me to make you one?" he motioned to his plate.

"Sure"

He walked around to stand next to me and started working on my sandwich.

"I had no idea you liked reggeaton" I smiled up at him innocently.

"I like different types of music" he shrugged trying to play it cool. But I knew he was embarrassed by the way he kept his eyes from meeting mine. "My brother is the one who only likes corridos."

"You remind me of your dad a lot" I told him, checking him from head to toe. Even though they have different colored eyes their facial features were the same, sure Don Bustamante looks way older but I bet he looked like Santiago when he was his age.

That made him smile a little. "We get that a lot, the only difference is our eyes...I have my mother's eyes."

I remember the talk we had on the carnival day, he had mentioned his mom died when he was just a ten years old but he never mentioned how she had died. What would his reaction be if I asked him what happened to her? Would he be mad? No, I can't risk it. I've already made him angry after my little gun stunt.

"I figured you got them from her."

He finished the sandwich and handed it to me on a plate. I thanked him and took a bite out of it while he watched me with eyes of a hawk, I kind of felt like laughing out loud at his face but I kept from doing so, in fear that I would probably all the food out of my mouth and make myself look like a fool.

"What about you" he spoke as he cleaned the small mess he had made on the counter.

Wow. A guy that actually cleans up after himself. Hot!

"You're probably very excited about your mom coming to visit."

"Oh yes" I grinned happily. "It makes me feel a bit better to know that she'll be here during our stay, and there's also the unsolved issues we have as a family, ya know? We need to get together and solve them."

"Your dad is still crazy in love with her"

"I know"

He finished cleaning around and took a seat across from me. "How would you feel if they decided to get back together?"

"My parents?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Yes"

"Well I wouldn't have anything against it" I shrugged. "I know my mom still loves my dad and if she wants to get back with him then it's fine. I know that part of the reason my mother left him was because she didn't want me to grow up in this kind of life, but now that I'm older and have my own life.... I'm not going to keep her away from her happiness."

"What are your reasons for not wanting to be part of this?" he motioned around the fancy kitchen and expensive stuff. "What do you hate about it so much?"

What is there to like about this fucked up life?

"I don't want to be part of this bullshit." I leaned back on my seat. " I want to be normal, to be able to go out without having to watch my back every second. And I don't want my future kids to live the sucky childhood I had."

"You want kids?" he smiled.

"Yes, I love kids. I want my kids to have a good life,"

"How many do you want?"

"I want two kids" I held up my fingers. "That's all I'm having...so my future husband better not want any more."

The smile on his face fell and he looked away from me.

"Santiago, is there something wrong?"

"No" he coughed, I could tell it was fake but he slowly turned back to look at me. "Not at all, I just...um...I just think that your future husband will be lucky to have you."

I laughed "Am I supposed to say thank you?"

"I'm not sure" he laughed leaning in closer to me. Whoa, he is getting dangerously close to my face!

"You're a very weird guy Santiago Bustamante." I whispered looking into his eyes.

"The bad kind of weird or the good kind?" he raised an eyebrow at me, his eyes going from my lips and back to my eyes.

I could literally feel his breath on my face, which gave me little butterflies in my stomach.

How corny am I?

I smiled. "Definitely the good kind"

"That's what I thought" he mumbled. His lips were brushing against mine, only a few more inches and we would be kissing. My heart jumped in excitement just at the thought of kissing him.

"What is going on here?"

The sound of a new voice snapped us out of our little moment and we leaned away from each other to look at Joel standing by the kitchen entry, his eyes blazing with anger as he stared us down.

"WHAT WERE YOU TWO DOING?" he yelled.

"Joel you don't have to yell at us" Santiago rolled his eyes at his brother.

"You're going to wake up everyone else!" I said in a hushed whisper.

"You two didn't answer my question." he growled.

"I got hungry so I came down to get something to eat" I explained in a hurry. "Santiago was already here so we decided to eat together, you need to calm down."

He scoffed. "Well it didn't look like you two were eating to me!"

"You know what?" I raised up my hands in annoyance. "I don't feel like dealing with this right now, I'm going back up to my room. I'll see you two in the morning."

"Gabby wait up!" Santi ran up too me as I walked out of the kitchen. There's no way I'm staying in the same room as Joel while he's acting like a total psycho.

"Please don't listen to my dumb brother" he shook his head. "He's being stupid."

"It's no big deal, I'm going back to sleep."

He smiled. "I'll see you in the morning, goodnight."

"Buenas Noches!" I turned around and headed back up the stairs and into my room.

Stupid Joel just had to come into the kitchen right when we were about to kiss, I won't probably have the guts to get that close to him again.

This is dangerous territory for me, I can't do this. I can't get involved with a Mafia boss! I've always wondered why my mother put up with all this Cartel crap, does she really love a guy who sells drugs for living?

The answer is yes. Yes she does! Because when you're in love nothing else matters.
