I sucked in a breath as the person who scanned the boarding passes took my stolen ones from my hands. The fact that I could get caught and thrown into jail was terrifying to say the least.
"Here you are ma'am. Enjoy your flight." The lady said to me with a smile, handing me back my stolen boarding pass and passport.
I internally relaxed and gave the lady a smile back, before following another flight attendant who was in front of me into the long narrow tube that connected to the plane.
"So, how's Devin doing?" The flight attendant ahead of me asked me as she slowed down to match my pace. I was surprised she hadn't noticed that I wasn't who she thought I was. But then again I had my hat lowered to cover half my face.
"Oh Devin? He's doing great actually!" I quickly replied, crossing my fingers that I had answered right.
"Ooh!" She shot me a small wink. "You two still hookin' up?" She asked me with a dirty grin.
I held back a gag as I realized this 'Devin' was my stolen identity's boy toy. What even made me want to gag more was the fact on how interested she was with this girl's sex life. I remember back when I was a kid, the adults around me would all avoid the 's' word itself and couldn't say it without whispering it discreetly. And this little attendant can go about throwing the word around loud for all to hear without the slightest bit of hesitation. Seriously. This world really bothered me at times.
But deciding not to gag and give this lady a whole rant on what I was thinking, I settled with a sad sigh. "No. I haven't heard from him in two days." I tried to say in my best depressed voice. In truth, I wanted to burst out laughing.
"Oh honey! I'm sure he can't stop thinking about you." The lady tried to comfort me as we slowed down once the entrance of the plane came into view.
"You really think so?" I asked her with a hopeful voice. How long could I hold this up until I burst into giggles?
"Sweetie, I know so." She winked at me, before turning to step aboard the plane and greeting the pilot.
I followed suit, doing the same as her. So far so good.
I followed the lady like a lost puppy as she walked down the empty aisle, not breaking her speed in those high heels.
I struggled to catch up. By the time she got to the very end, I was panting. These heels sure gave me a workout. Maybe I should start wearing them more often.
"Hey, Stacey and I are going out for a drink once we land, you wanna join?" The lady asked me as she put her small suitcase in a compartment inside a small space.
I did the same, sliding my victim's suitcase into the cubby next to the lady's. Although I didn't need it, I didn't want to look suspicious. "Oh actually I've got other plans." I said to her.
"That's too bad." She gave me a frown, before looking over my shoulder and grinning. Before I could attempt to move out of the way, she pushed past me with a squeal.
I grabbed onto the door of the washrooms to keep myself upright, before turning to see the lady hugging another flight attendant with platinum blond hair.
"Stacey!" The lady yelled in joy, before letting go of her.
"Hey Jen." She smiled back at the lady. So that's what her name was...
"Hi Debra!" Stacey said to me now, coming closer for a hug.
My name was Debra? Really? It couldn't be something badass like Violet or Scarlet?
"Hey Stacey!" I said with a grin, throwing my arms around her like I had known her my whole life.
"You look different." Stacey commented as we pulled apart.
I froze. Oh crap.
"Did you dye your hair?" She asked with a squeal finally, causing me to sigh in relief.
"Yeah I did! You like?" I asked in a girly way, before twisting around as best as one can possibly twist in five inch heels. Wow this new character really was bringing out the girly side in me.
"I love it!" Stacey praised, before sliding past me and putting her luggage away. "Five minutes until boarding starts." Stacey reminded us both, before turning to walk down the aisles, making sure everything was right.
I turned to see Jen was also gone, walking down the other aisle.
Well I guess I'll just hide out in the washroom for the next five minutes...
Looking both ways, I was just about to step towards the small washroom, before I heard a male voice call out.
"Hey Debs!" I turned to see a guy who looked to be in his early twenties walk up to me with a suitcase dragging behind him.
I studied his dark blond hair that was neatly styled, his tall broad shoulders and his friendly green eyes. I quickly checked his name-tag before smiling back at him. "Hey Johnny!" I said with a grin.
"Hey did you already organize the carts or do I have to?" Johnny asked me as he put his suitcase away.
"Oh, um... I just got out of the washroom actually." I quickly lied.
"This is the third time I've had to do your job." Johnny whined at me but I could see the light sparkle in his green eyes.
"Sorry Johnny! I promise to make it up to you!" I promised him. Although I'm pretty sure I'd never see him again.
"A nice latte date will do." Johnny waved dismissively, before turning to start organizing the cart.
"You look different." Johnny stated, turning back to look at me casually, causing me to freeze. "Did you dye your hair?" He asked, causing me to relax again.
"Yeah I did!" I lied smoothly.
"Looks good." He winked at me teasingly, before bustling around and making things proper.
"Boarding has started! Come on Debra!" I watched as Stacey and Jen strutted up to the front of the plane where the pilot was standing. Wasting no time, I quickly all but ran after them, trying my best not to trip and die.
"Welcome aboard!" Stacey greeted a wealthy looking man as he stepped onto the plane just as I managed to step next to them. I remembered that first class would be boarding first, which meant Ryland, Tyler, Landon and Max would be walking past any time soon. Which meant that Nathan would be walking past me.
Every time someone would step onto the plane, I'd hold my breath in anticipation. I'm not sure if it was because of fear from getting caught by Ryland, or anxiousness to see Nathan. Ha, what am I saying? I'm not going to get anxious over that stupid boy. At least, I hope not...
I let out a breath as I finally saw Landon step onto the plane first, his eyes frantically searching for mine. Once our eyes locked, he gave me a small smirk as he walked closer.
"Welcome aboard sir!" I decided to play around.
"Sir? I could get used to that. Now go get me some root beer lady." Landon said aloud to me, forgetting that there were others around. I bit back a laugh as Stacey and Jen looked at Landon and I with their mouths agape.
"I'll get you your root beer once we start serving out drinks, sir." I replied with a straight face.
"What a jackass!" Stacey whispered in my ear as Landon disappeared, off to find his seat.
"Oh I'm sure he'll get his karma." I waved off to her, but was fighting off an evil grin.
I looked up just as Tyler stepped towards me, looking at me in relief. He really does worry too much about his gorgeously amazing little sister.
"Yo, sneak me some extra peanuts once we're up in the air." Tyler muttered under his breath as he walked by.
I rolled my eyes at him as he left. At least he hadn't said it aloud for all to hear, risking me getting caught.
I watched as Ryland stepped onto the plane next, a natural instinct to glare at him appearing. But I held it back, instead looking down at my feet to avoid any eye contact.
I watched as his small shoes came into view, passing by me in what seemed like eons but was only mere seconds.
I let out a sigh of relief and relaxed slightly.
Next, I saw Max walk onto the plane, his eyes catching mine quickly, a grin appearing on his face.
I swear, all the grins and smirks that these boys kept sending me were surely going to get Stacey and Jen suspicious.
"Good day ladies." Max greeted Stacey, Jen and I as he walked past, sending me a secret wink after.
I shook my head as Stacey and Jen giggled like young school girls, both lightly blushing at Max. Silly boy.
Well that's all of them. Now there's just him left.
And just as I looked up, he stepped onto the plane. His eyes were looking down as he walked on, not bothering to look at anyone.
I held my breath as he walked past me and held my breath in anticipation as he stopped in front of me for a second too long.
Staring straight ahead, he shook his head, before walking off to find his seat. I guessed that Landon, Max and Tyler had told him that I wasn't on the plane.
I let out a huge sigh and was just about to walk off, before realizing I still had to greet like a hundred more passengers. Oh joy...
"Did you see that guy? Oh my gosh he was smokin'!" Jen said to Stacey, referring to Nathan.
I clenched my hands into fists, anger suddenly filling me. Wait, hold on there. Have I become an overly-attached girlfriend? Oh no...
"I know right! I'd definitely tap that." Stacey agreed, staring down the aisle at him longingly.
"Aren't you two a bit too old to be saying that about a nineteen year old?" I couldn't help but let out bitterly at the two girls that were becoming two tempting punching bags real fast.
I relaxed slightly as they looked down in shame, realizing I was right. After all, they were like eight years older than him. And he was mine. He was being an ignorant idiot, but he was still mine...
It felt like years once the last person finally stepped onto the plane, causing me to fight back the urge to do a happy dance. I probably would've if Dustin were here...
Just as I turned to face Jen and Stacey to see what to do next, they were already walking down the aisles, helping people with their luggage and fixing seats. I noticed Johnny doing this too.
Deciding not to stand around and attract unneeded attention to myself, I walked down an aisle and started doing the same.
After about ten minutes of this, a voice overhead spoke out.
"Attention all passengers, we will be taking off in about seven minutes. Please take a seat and fasten your seat-belts. Thank you for choosing Coast to Coast."
I followed Johnny, Stacey and Jen to a little area for the flight attendants and watched as they each pulled out a seat from the wall and strapped themselves in. I quickly followed suite.
"Another day, another flight." Jen said in an unenthusiastic tone.
"Oh cheer up would ya?" Johnny teased.
I grinned at the two, before leaning back against the wall and closing my eyes. Time to catch up on that sleep that Nathan had interrupted. And of course as his name came into my mind, my thoughts drifted to that son of a gun boy that had managed to kidnap my heart.

TYLER'S POV
"How much longer till we get there?" Landon whined for the billionth time from my left.
"Dude, it's only been like fifteen minutes." Max replied back from my right.
I had been stuck sitting between these two idiots unfortunately. We were in the middle aisle, while Nathan and Ryland were to the right of us, sitting where there were only two seats.
"And how long is the flight?" Landon proceeded his question.
"Like three hours." Max shrugged.
Landon let out a groan, leaning back in his seat.
"Yo have you played Flying Bieber yet?" Max asked Landon now, leaning forward so he could see him.
"No, but I've played Flying Cyrus." Landon shrugged.
"Dude! You are totally missing out." Max shook his head, before pulling out his phone.
"What's so great about it?" Landon asked back.
"See for yourself." Max said as he handed his phone to Landon, reaching over me.
"Have you played--" Max started asking me but I cut him off.
"No. And no I don't want to play it." I answered with a scowl.
"Such a Debbie-downer. It's not good for you bro, you need to live." Max shook his head at me.
"I'm sorry that I don't find it entertaining to tap a phone to make some ridiculous celebrity hop through objects." I rolled my eyes at him.
Max just glared back, not having a come back. "Psh." Was all he settled for, shaking his head.
"Dude, this does not even look like him." Landon said as he continued playing.
"Uh, yes it does. Turn up the volume." Max ordered.
"Why?" Landon asked as he did so.
I rolled my eyes as the game went 'swag' each time Biebs' head went through the microphone and pole.
"Awe man! That's sick! I'm downloading this for sure." Landon exclaimed with a grin as he continued playing.
"Try to beat my high score." Max challenged him.
Before I could hear Landon's reply, I pulled on my headphone's and blasted some nice dubstep, muting out the whole world.
******** NATHAN'S POV ********
I stared out the window, letting out a sigh. I had been trying so hard to get her out of my head, but it wasn't really working. I knew I had to be focused one hundred percent for the plan to work out, but I couldn't ignore the pain in my chest right now. I had been disappointed when I saw Tyler, Landon and Max come along on board, but they had insisted to fight alongside me. A small flicker of hope in me had died down when they'd told me that Skylar was already on her way home. But it was for the best, so I refused to be a selfish jerk and wish that she'd be on this plane. She had her own life to live and I couldn't keep her away from it. But on the other hand, having Tyler, Landon, and my brother with me still didn't erase the guilt and fear of having one of them hurt as it would fall on my hands. I knew I could protect them all though, and they were pretty capable themselves.
I looked up abruptly as a flight attendant walked by quickly. I narrowed my eyes as a sense of familiarity took over me.
Could it be...
No. I was obviously missing her too much, there was no way she could have knocked out a flight attendant on her own.
I relaxed back into my seat, looking out the window. My eyes uncontrollably swept back to her and I watched as she walked on ahead and froze as she stumbled slightly in her heels. Something suddenly snapped as I watched closely. That little stumble had triggered something.
I had been right.
~~~~ SKYLAR'S POV ~~~~
Taking in a deep breath to calm my nerves, I started walking in what I hoped was a human pace. Johnny had told me to go down to the front of the plane to get a basket of headsets. I had been chosen to hand them out unfortunately.
I tensed up as I quickly recognized Nathan's head. He was seated on the right side of the plane and had the aisle seat. As I came closer, I recognized Landon, Tyler and Max, seated in the middle row.
Just walk normally. Just walk normally...
I held my breath as I reached Nathan, and didn't relax once I'd passed him. I could feel his burning gaze on me.
Did he know?
Right foot. Left foot. Right foot. Left foot.
Even if he did, he couldn't do anything on the plane, right?
Heel, toe. Heel, toe. Heel, toe. Toe, heel, twist.
Dammit!
I sucked in a breath as my foot twisted onto its side and I stumbled. I quickly regained my balance and continued walking down the aisle, relaxing once I'd gotten behind the closed curtain. I stood in front of the cart that was locked in place in a large rectangular cubby.
As if I didn't already have too much attention from people, I'd just stumbled in front of everyone. That would have surely caught Nathan's attention.
But he hadn't seen my face. He didn't know it was me for sure. I could still be seen as an air hostess that was just simply a klutz, right?
As I realized that all this worrying would get me nowhere, I took a deep breath, placing my hands on the cart and leaning forward.
The basket full of head sets suddenly caught my eye, and I remembered that I had yet to hand out the head sets. Glaring at the basket in distaste, I pushed myself away from the cart and straightened up.
But before I could grab the basket, I felt two strong hands grab my waist and just like that I was being pulled into the small, cramped washroom.
I opened my mouth to scream but my captor covered it with his hand, pushing me against the counter. I could see a faint outline that looked familiar, but I couldn't be too sure.
Just as I got ready to bite this little son of a gun's hand, the light above us suddenly flicked on, revealing Nathan. He took his hand away hesitantly, watching me closely to make sure I wouldn't start screaming at him.
My eyes widened as he stepped closer to me, only a few inches away. I put my hands behind me on the counter and leaned away, not knowing what to say.
"Skylar. What the hell are you doing on this plane?" Nathan asked in a deep, threatening voice that was anything but nice. His eyes looking so cold, I suppressed a shiver.
"Skylar? Who's Skylar? My name's Debbie." I said in a deep voice. I don't know why I used a deep voice considering that it sounded nothing like a girl's, but I just didn't want him to recognize my own voice. If he asked, I could quickly make up a story about being a heavy smoker.
"Don't play games with me Skylar. Didn't I tell you not to come? You should have been well on your way back home by now!" Nathan scowled at me, anger rolling off of him.
I let out a defeated sigh. It was worth a try.
"You don't get to decide that Nathan." I said slowly, trying to make him calm down.
"Yes I do! I'm the one who kidnapped you! I dragged you into this big mess! I'm the one that ruined your life and I think I should be the one to give that all back to you." Nathan growled at me.
I suddenly became frustrated at this and used my hands to push him away. I was surprised with myself when he stumbled back into the wall behind him. Wow, I must be pretty pissed...
"You're also the one that taught me what true love is. The one who made me stronger and braver. The one that promised to never leave me. Or did you forget all that when you decided to push me away?" I asked him angrily.
I watched as his eyes slightly softened. "But you don't deserve this Sky. I can't let myself drag you into my life and put you at risk. You're not safe with me. You'll never be." Nathan said to me softly. "It's for the best Skylar." He muttered softly.
I let out an angry cry and ran a hand through my hair, facing away from him. Was he literally that dull? "Will you just stop being selfish and think about me for once!" I yelled, facing him again.
"What do you mean by selfish? I'm doing this for you Sky." Nathan tried to reason.
"No, you're not. Did you even once stop and think of how I'd feel if you pushed me out of your life and sent me back home to nothing? My home was you." I pushed my finger into his chest. "Did you even think of how much you'd hurt me? How selfish you were to make this decision without me? You're just pushing me away because you're scared!" I yelled at him. When he remained silent, I continued. "You're scared of losing me yet that's what you're doing right now. If I had gone back home, do you think that I'd just smile and move on? That I'd easily get over you and find someone else? Now do you understand? I don't care what you say or do, I am not backing down. It's not that easy to get rid of me like that Nathan." I gave him a bitter smile at the end, tears burning in my eyes.
I studied his handsome face once more. How his eyes were filled with sadness and guilt. How he looked torn as if having an internal battle right now. How his mouth was set in a hard line. And how he was looking at me right now. Realizing that I couldn't handle all this right now, I turned away from him and walked out the door.
Wiping my tears quickly and adjusting my hat so that no one could see my tear stained eyes, I grabbed that basket full of headphones, put on a stony expression, and started walking down the aisle, offering strangers to buy them for two dollars.
I noticed a figure I knew all too well walk by on the aisle to my right but kept my gaze on the basket as I handed a man his head phones and collected the money.
I was still pissed at him and felt like curling up in a ball and crying. But I forced myself to be strong. I only had two priorities that I was here for. Save Hanna and bust Ryland. Once this was all over, I wasn't sure what would happen. But I stopped my thoughts right there. I couldn't get all this emotion in the way and get distracted. No, I was going to complete these tasks and get on with life, with or without Nathan.
Ignoring the pain in my chest that came at that last thought, I continued down the aisle and went on almost mechanically as I handed the headsets out. When I came to Nathan's seat to offer him, I did all it took to keep that stony face on and act normal. I didn't miss the heart-broken look on his face as he stared at me, waiting for me to look his way. But I didn't. Once Ryland declined my offer, not even looking up at me, I continued on as if that boy had no effect on me. Like that was possible...
It hurt when he couldn't just accept my decision. But I reminded myself of the end goal, and once that was reached, there would be no danger. I just wished Nathan would be able to see it too.
