"Revenge. It's my need to quench the thirst of my sweet revenge." Alvin squeaked, pacing slowly in front of me.

I stared at him in confusion, that still didn't explain why I was here.

I didn't know what my stepfather had done to that chipmunk, but if he wanted revenge, why the hell would he kidnap me? It wasn't like I was close to him or knew anything about him.

"I'll never forgive him for what he did. That man deserves worse than death." Alvin said in a scary tone, the squeak slightly gone. "And not just him, but your whore mother and failure of a brother too."

His words made me freeze in my spot. The last word especially.

"Now, here's how this next part works." He dragged on, looking like he was having the time of his life.

I was reminded of my kidnapper's presence as I felt his grip slightly tighten on me.

"I'm going to ask you some questions and if you answer all of them correctly, I'll explain why I'm doing all of this and nobody gets hurt." He said in a wicked manner, reminding me now of a crow rather than a chipmunk.

"Do we have a deal?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.

I knew better than to make a deal with this excuse of a devil, but I saw an opportunity. I had the upper-hand here because the chipmunk thought I would have information on my brother and the other two people mentioned. If I wanted to protect my brother, I knew I could feed this guy false information and use it to my advantage... Plus, lover boy behind me seemed pretty willing to help me out.

So I found myself slowly nodding with wide eyes in agreement.

I was only doing a better job of selling my act.

"Don't you worry, I will make sure of it." He gave me a smile which I think was meant to look comforting.

This guy was truly an idiot.

"Untie the rag." He ordered the kidnapper.

The kidnapper did so in a swift motion, letting the material fall loosely around my neck.

I had to bite my tongue back from letting out the pent up profanities I had for the balding man in front of me.

In due time.

"First question." He barked, causing me to slightly jump. His high pitched voice was very unsettling.

"Are you a man?" He asked seriously.

Was this guy for real?

"Why would you-" I started.

"Answer, the question." He said eerily, with a smile like the joker on his face.

"No, I am one hundred percent female." I said firmly. Maybe he was just confused. Hell, I was the one confused.

I heard a ding go off and looked up to see Alvin pulling out a small machine from behind him.

I wonder if he had had that stored in his pants this whole time. I really hoped not.

"Good, now we know that the lie detector works." He said, looking up at me with a smug look.

My eyes widened. Nobody had said anything about a lie detector. I wasn't even aware that those things actually existed until a few months ago from some Tom Cruise movie.

I felt the kidnapper's body freeze from behind me, indicating he was taken by surprise too.

"Are you ready?" He asked, not waiting for an answer. "Good. Now, what is your stepfather's mother's name?"

The answer to that was I don't know. But I knew if I'd reveal that, he'd see that I had no value to add to his grand scheme of plans. If I had no value then it would mean that either my body was getting disposed of, or my brother would be put at risk of getting kidnapped as another attempt to get to my stepdad.

"Margret." I answered instantly, making the name up. I had thought maybe if I spoke the first thing that came to mind with full confidence, the lie detector wouldn't have time to pick up on any prolonged pauses filled with betraying emotions.

I was probably wrong and I doubted it would work, but it was a very improvised decision as I had little to no time for thinking up a plot on the spot.

I did my best to keep up my poker face, repeatedly reminding myself that this was just a measly chipmunk that didn't know what a lie was.

After he examined my face for a good two minutes, he finally broke away his beady gaze to look down at his lie detector.

"I see you're smarter than you look. That honest answer just saved you a black eye." He smiled up at me, looking like a penguin now. And I didn't mean cute penguins, I meant like the Penguin from Batman.

Wait, the machine hadn't caught my lie! Was it broken or was it just my pure confidence? I doubted the latter, as I caught on to one detail which revealed the man's bluff.

I had to bite back a smirk, realizing I had just gained even more leverage.

"When was the last time he traveled?" Chipmunk asked his next question, his beady eyes trained on me.

I really didn't know which answer would work to my own benefit and was contemplating if I should just straight up tell him to go back to his two chipmunk brothers, but I wasn't taking any more chances. Regardless of the fact that the guy looked more of a Disneyland security guard than some mafia leader.

"Two years ago." I replied.

He stared at me, then glanced down at the 'lie detector'.

He nodded slowly, before raising his eyes up to mine.

"I will ask you once more, and I want a real answer this time." He said, slowly dragging out his words to minimize his high-pitched voice.

Great, I was caught. I had taken his idiocy for granted and was getting too relaxed with my answers. I guess I should be showing more emotion if he really thought I was on good terms with my stepdad.

I let out a long sigh, slowly raising my head to meet his dark eyes.

"What if I don't tell you?" I asked, throwing in a glare to really sell my emotions.

"Then this happens." He said with a large grin, reminding me of a shark.

I barely had time to blink before I was knocked to the floor as I felt his fist connect with my right cheek.

For one tiny man, he sure packed a lot of power. It was probably due to all the frustration that had developed and consumed him over the years of having to deal with being tiny. Plus, being at his height he was probably exposed to a lot of bad air...

I gritted my teeth hard to keep from wincing at the stinging pain on my cheek. I glared up at the small man, and pushed myself up. Although it was fun to joke about this pathetic man, I really wished I didn't have to be here right now...

"Answer the question!" He yelled in frustration.

I fought back the urge to knee him in the stomach, since he was too short for my knee to damage his male area.

"What was the question again?" I asked, feigning innocence, just to get back.

I watched his eyes smolder up, before cooling down, a smug look in its place now.

"Answer." He squeaked, raising a hand. "The fucking." He took three steps towards me. "Question!' He practically screamed, irritating my ears.

I just winced at the leftover ringing in my ears from his squeaking.

"Rela-" I started to say, but was cut off when his hand swung down and smacked my face, this time on the other side.

I felt a large source of anger course through my body before his hand had even touched me, and as soon as my head snapped to the side, I opened my eyes and snapped it right back to face him, barely feeling the pain in the moment.

I gave him the dirtiest glare, before spitting on his face. Twice.

I watched his face transition into that of an angry chipmunk in a matter of seconds. I watched his shaking fist raise up once more, and before he could move it back I spoke with a sadistic smile. "You can keep hitting me all you want, but know that it only aggravates me and makes me feel more inclined to not tell you the truth."

I knew it was worth it when I saw anger, frustration, helplessness, desperation, and then anger again all flash in his eyes.

"We'll see about that." He gave me a twisted grin now. "Guess we'll have to experiment with some other toys."

I really did know how to dig my own grave.

"Bring her!" He barked at the kidnapper, before storming off into the dark.

"Hey, are you okay? I'm sorry I wish I could have done something, I really wasn't expecting it." He whispered softly, concern shining through his eyes as he lightly touched my face.

"I can handle myself, plus it was my fault for not staying cool." I shrugged.

"I'm sorry." He spoke quietly, before taking my arm and guiding me after Alvin. I looked up and examined his guilt-ridden face.

I would forgive him, but he was the one who had brought this fate upon me when he had taken me away.

We stopped in front of the metal chair, concealed by the darkness as we stood a few steps outside of the dimly lit spot. The kidnapper pulled me closer into him, as if trying to protect me from the inevitable.

"Come forward and sit down you brat." Alvin ordered.

I was about to protest, but was cut off when the kidnapper squeezed my hands in warning.

"Trust me." His lips grazed my ear, before he walked us to the chair and gently pushed me down in a swift motion.

"Tie her up." Alvin said, turning to face the kidnapper.

He dropped down by my legs, lifting a pile of rope off of the floor, and began to wrap it around my ankles.

I saw Alvin storm off, probably to get my saliva off of his face and bring in his torturing devices.

"What were you thinking!?" My kidnapper exclaimed all of a sudden as soon as Alvin was out of the vicinity, making me jump in my seat.

"What?" I asked, looking down at him in alarm.

His eyes cooled down instantly and he let the rope around his fingers slip through them and fall to the ground. He stood up on his knees, his soft eyes slowly grazing over my face.

"I'm so sorry this had to happen." He whispered, his eyes filled with guilt. I watched as he raised a hand up slowly, extending it towards my swollen bruised face but stopping midway and letting it drop to his side instead.

He looked down for a second, before placing his hands on my knees and looking at me with nothing but seriousness now. "So I need you to use up as much time as you can, okay? Start talking about your stepdad and really drag on the stories, but don't say anything that could lead back to you or your brother." He instructed, his green orbs fixated on me. "And please, also do refrain from saying more provocative things that will get you more hurt."

"Okay, I can do all those things. But where will you be?" I couldn't help but ask. I'd be lying if I said I was okay being left alone with that crow.

"I'll be creating a distraction, something that will get him to cut this thing short." He explained.

I nodded. He was risking his job and life here for me, crazily enough. My own kidnapper.

"And by the way, how did you bypass the lie detector?" The kidnapper asked in amazement.

"It wasn't a lie detector, it was a silly bluff." I stated evidently.

His impressed expression only deepened and I bit my lip. Wow, look at me go; gaining appraisal from a kidnapper in a dark and abandoned concrete basement.

"Anyways, I should go now." He snapped out of it and backed away, starting to leave.

"Wait..." I called out softly, not sure of what to say next but feeling dread begin to enter me as I was reminded of the stinging pain all along my face, as well as in my stomach.

He stepped back up to me and leaned in close. "Don't be scared, I'll only be gone for a few minutes." He promised, giving me a reassuring look.

"You're right. I'll be fine." I said, trying to exhibit confidence, except my shaky emotion clad voice betrayed me.

Damn, I wish I had vocal cords like Whitney Houston: strong and confident.

"Just hold on, I'll rescue you soon." He whispered, leaning in closer. "Just trust me."

I gave him a soft smile, but then rolled my eyes. "I don't need any Prince Charming okay? I'm like Mulan and you're like Pumba-"

"We can talk about Disney characters later princess, he's coming back now." He cut me off with an amused smirk.

I just huffed immaturely and looked away, only to be greeted by the sight of the guy that I so badly wanted to flush down a toilet and send somewhere deep under the sea, only to get sexually assaulted by a shark, before getting chopped into a million squares and get fed to his ex-girlfriend-shark.

Was that too mean?

"Finish tying this bitch up then leave." Alvin barked out to my kidnapper.

Nope, definitely not too mean.

I felt his fingers brush my left arm as he tied up the last knot, his touch lingering for a few long seconds. Then before I knew it, he was standing up and turning to leave, but not before giving me an alluring smirk as if to say 'I got this shit under control'.

Yum.

I heard the door shut, then silence.

I looked around to see where the creepy chipmunk had scattered off to, probably to go store some acorns and--

Oh lovely, he's right there. Luckily his back was turned towards me.

I glanced down at my wrists to see the knots, which looked pretty complicated. I still gave them a small tug and was surprised to find them come up quite a bit from the chair's arms. The kidnapper had made my knots easy to get out of, which was pretty sweet.

There was no way he wasn't being forced into this work. Otherwise, why else would he so happily let me get exposed to countless escape routes and opportunities.

"Skylar." Alvin started, walking towards me slowly.

Oh right, I had to distract this guy from torturing me.

"Alvin." I said on instinct, before mentally slapping myself.

"What?" He asked confused.

I opened my mouth, about to explain, but quickly shut it as I realized he would probably scratch my eyes out with his sharp talons if I told him he was the spitting image of Alvin from Alvin and the Chipmunks.

"Never mind, continue." I said, nodding my head.

He shot me a glare. "Don't fucking tell me what to do." He spat out.

"Sorry." I said over dramatically.

"Don't talk unless I tell you to bitch!" He barked out.

"I was just apologizing!" I protested.

"Are you trying to be wise with me?" He asked, leaning towards my face.

The line reminded me of The Outsiders, causing me to suddenly change my accent.

"No sir, I don't want no trouble." I said in an accent similar to Ponyboy's.

I didn't know what else to stall him with, so why not use 'The Outsiders'? I had no information on my stepdad and I'd rather not get tortured because of it, but I'd bet I could stall the overly sensitive and unstable chipmunk.

"Fucking hell, what are you trying to do here?" He asked, after a long pause.

"Can you stop cussing please?" I asked politely.

"I said don't fucking tell me what to do!" He squeaked.

"I will if I want to! Stay gold!" I yelled out, remembering that important piece of advice which I never would have thought I'd be repeating in a live conversation. To my kidnapper's boss of all people.

Sarcasm and disregard did tend to take over in situations like these in my recent cases.

"Shut up!" He yelled, looking like he was seconds away from exploding.

"I'm only quoting Ponyboy! I didn't know it was a crime to quote a greaser!" I yelled.

"You better shut up right now before I- wait, Ponyboy was a Soc! Get it right bitch!" He suddenly said.

Yes! My plan was working. I knew no one could ignore any discussions on The Outsiders.

Except this guy clearly hadn't read the book or seen the movie to know that Ponyboy was not a Soc.

"Have you even read the book? Everyone knows he's a greaser! That's why he had the leather jacket and all in the movie!" I argued.

"I know what I'm talking about bitch! He was a fucking Soc." he argued back.

"He was a greaser!" I yelled back.

"You know what, you're not worth my time. So shut the hell up before I beat you up." He said in a frustrated tone.

"Alright fine, but just know that I am right." I said in a cool tone.

I knew I should've stopped after that threat, I knew I should've found better ways to stall him, which included not pissing him off, but I had the huge need to prove myself right.

"I'm right, you're wrong!" He yelled, suddenly raising his fist.

"Greaser." I said softly.

"Soc!" He yelled back.

"Greaser." I said in between fake coughs.

"Maybe this will help refresh your memory, that he was, in fact a Soc." he said slowly.

I looked up to see his fist raised up and ready to attack.

Just as I prepared myself for the blow, I heard a throat clear loudly.

We both snapped our heads to the door which I had come in from to see my kidnapper standing there, looking very confused.

"Um, boss... Jared's on the line." He said awkwardly.

I looked up to see Alvin's hard exterior crumble away and he let out a sigh.

"Untie her and bring her back tomorrow." He ordered. "This isn't over." He shot me a glare.

"Go do some research so we can debate on something better next time." I ordered.

He glared at me. "Don't fucking-"

"Tell me what to do." I finished for him.

He just gave me one last glare, before storming out of the room.

"Well that went smoothly." My kidnapper commented once the door slammed shut, bending down to undo the knots.

"Told you I was like Mulan." I mumbled.

"I thought you were Ponyboy." He said, raising a perfectly arched brow.

I wonder if he got them waxed or threaded...

"You heard that?" I asked, staring up at him.

"All of it. I was done in two seconds, but you guys were screaming too loud to hear me." He explained.

"Wait, so you agree he was a greaser right?" I asked him.

"Never seen the movie." He answered, now working on untying my wrists.

I gaped at him for five straight minutes.

"Close your mouth, you look like an ape." He muttered.

I glared at him.

"You look like Pumba." I shot back.

"Come on, I think it's time to go now." He said, holding out a hand with amusement dancing in his eyes.

I gave him a grateful smile, then took it in mine. We walked back to his apartment again, hand in hand. It was somewhat comforting.

"Can we watch Disney movies?" I suddenly asked, turning to face him with wide, pleading eyes.

He let out a chuckle. "Sure."

I smiled at that. I had turned my kidnapper into my friend who was going to watch Disney movies with me.

"Can we watch The Outsiders first though?" I asked, looking up at his tall frame.

"I thought you've already seen it." He said, turning to me confused.

"Yeah, but you haven't." I explained.

He stared down at me with a small smile. "If that's what you want."

"I need at least someone to see that Ponyboy's a greaser." I muttered, remembering Alvin.

"Hey, does Alvin scream in your face too?" I suddenly asked, wanting to know if he did that to everyone just to feel more intimidating.

"Who's Alvin?" He stopped, staring at me with slight concern.

"Your boss." I said in an obvious way.

"His name's Ryland... Where'd you get Alvin from?" He spoke, looking slightly amused now.

Ryland? That sounded too sweet to be his name.

"Doesn't he remind you of Alvin from Alvin and the Chipmunks?" I asked.

He burst out laughing in the middle of the living room.

I watched him laugh with a small smile and waited for him to contain himself.

"I've never met anyone quite like you Skylar." He said softly.

"I'm amazing aren't I?" I asked with a smirk.

An idea suddenly popped into my head.

I slowly walked over to him, his eyes trained on me.

"I can't blame you." I started, using his own words against him. "I have all the boys falling to their-" I stopped.

"This is where you punch me." I said with a smirk.

"I was thinking of something else." He said softly, closing the gap between us in two strides.

My breath hitched as he slid one arm around my waist.

"Kidna-" I started.

"I have a name, princess." He spoke lowly, his deep voice resonating through my body.

He slid his other hand up to gently touch my cheek, the one that was not injured.

"And what is it?" I asked quietly, subconsciously leaning into his soft touch.

"I'll tell you, on a condition though." He said with a light playful smirk.

I nodded my head for him to go on, too much in a trance to speak now.

"Kiss me." He whispered, causing my stomach to jump.

I found myself leaning in slowly, my eyes fixated on his full smooth lips that seemed so inviting.

Just as his mouth was about to close the gap, we were interrupted by a voice.

"I'm hungry somebody make me a sandwich!"

I slightly jumped and was about to move backwards, but the kidnapper kept me in place.

I couldn't take my eyes off of him as I was frozen in shock.

I had almost kissed him!

But it had only been to find out his name right? Right?

I knew deep down that I would've kissed him either way, and damn did that scare me.

"I'll make you one, just wait in your room for a minute." The kidnapper said, looking at him with a soft gaze.

He nodded and ran off to his room without question.

"What's his name?" I asked after a long silence.

"Dustin." He said, the name leaving a smile on his lips.

"He's cute, why wasn't he weirded out by this?" I asked, motioning to how he was holding me in his arms still.

I should probably push away and get back to being kidnapped...

"What's weird about it?" He asked instead.

I just shook my head, his striking green eyes holding me in place.

"Can you make grilled cheese?" I suddenly asked, pushing myself away now and regaining my priorities.

He laughed. "Go put on the movie and I'll bring the food, and some ice for your face." He said, turning to leave towards the kitchen.

"Can you call Dustin too please? Oh and don't tell him I kidnapped you please?" He called out from the kitchen.

I rolled my eyes.

Here I was, doing favors for my kidnapper and his little brother and about to watch Disney movies. It was certainly bizarre and probably not okay. I should probably try to get help.

I shrugged off the warnings though and turned to walk down to where Dustin had run off a few minutes ago. If I had to pick between being locked in that underground area and getting my face more damaged, or watching movies with my kidnapper and babysitting a cute little kid, I'd be crazy not to pick the latter.

Well it was time to make a new friend. Hopefully he wouldn't be afraid of me like most kids were...
