Chapter 16: Welcome to The Secret Swirl

~Riley's POV~

"Everyone get the hell up!" I heard someone yell causing me to quickly jump up. I looked at the clock and seen it was only 4 in the morning.

"This better be good." I grumbled to myself as I tried to walk to the door without tripping over anything since the only light in the room was the glowing numbers of the clock.

"Do you know what time it is?!" Rachel asked walking out of her bedroom.

"Yes it's 4 in the morning." Matt answered tying up his tie on his suit.

"Why are you all dressed up?" Emily asked.

"The bigger question is why aren't you? Why are you girls in just shorts and a tank top? Joseph why are you in nothing but boxers?!" Matt asked panicking while running a hand through his hair.

"Because its 4 in the morning. What is going on Matt?" I asked with a raised eyebrow while leaning against my door frame tiredly.

"Did you not get the message?Cole is coming today!" He almost yelled causing us all the stand up straight.

"When?" Joey asked now sounding wide awake.

"Who knows but his plan is to go out to dinner I think and talk with us how far along in the mission we are. He should be here as soon as his plane lands." Matt answered now pulling at his tie. I rolled my eyes and glared at him.

"Why the hell are we up at 4 in the morning then?"I asked irritated.

"We have 1 piece of information besides those case you guys got yesterday.Thats it. We have been here for over a month. If he comes here tonight and we have nothing then you and Joseph don't get your awards as Top Agents of the company but also one of you don't get to take over the company when its time for Cole to pass it down to someone and Emily, Rachel, you two will never rank higher up if this mission is not completed and finished." Matt said starting to pace.

"What's the one piece of information that we have?" Emily asked.

"That some of the people in that building are being threatened and forced to sell drugs." Joey answered before looking at Matt to see if he is right. Matt nodded confirming what Joey said.

"Well I guess the reason you woke us up is to get a few more pieces of information?" Rachel asked and he nodded.

"Yea so all of you get dressed because by the time you are done getting some new information we will all most likely be meeting up with Cole." Matt said before heading downstairs and I sighed.

"I actually thought I was going to get a full amount of sleep tonight I guess not." I said as I headed back into my room. I turned on my light and walked over to my closet picking out a pair of white ripped skinny jeans and a off the shoulder black t-shirt that has a fading red rosé on it. I ran a brush through my hair and then through it up in a bun.I picked up a cute black strapless cocktail dress and stuffed it into the bottom of my bag. I grabbed my black bag and put it on my shoulder before heading downstairs. I walked into the living room and opened the door that led to the office where Matt stayed.

"Ready." I told him and he shook his head at my outfit.

"You need something more formal tonight grab an outfit to bring along to change into later." Matt told me.

"I have one now what do we have to do?" I asked

"You just need to get as much information as possible while I get the other case open. If you need help then you should know to contact."Matt said before looking back at his computer screen.

"You ready?" Joey asked from behind me and I nodded. I put on my light brown fuzzy Uggs and opened the front door. I seen Emily already had the car on and was sitting in the driver seat with Rachel next to her. Instead of the normal dark cars we usually use for missions we had a cherry red 2013 mustang.

When I got in I noticed Rachel was wearing a white short sleeve blouse and black high waisted shorts with a pair of black flats and a necklace. Her usual long brown hair was in a cute fishtail braid to the side. Emily was wearing a pair of light blue skinny jeans and a pair of open toed white pair of flats and a blue jacket with a black tank top underneath. Joey was the only one not going with a casual look as he was wearing a pair of black pants and a black dress shirt that was rolled up to his elbows on top of his dress shirt he was wearing a black vest that wasn't buttoned. It may seem like a very dark look but with his hair in a sort of messy style he looked hot. But you didn't hear that from me.

"Where are we going?" Emily asked as she starting heading closer to where the plaza was and I shrugged. It was now 5:30 and the sun was starting to rise in the sky.

"Starbucks before school?" Rachel suggested but I shook my head.

"Nah everyone goes their before school." I told them and they nodded.

"Right, I forgot." Rachel said frowning slightly.

"How about that little diner called um The Secret Swirl." Emily suggested and we all agreed except for Joseph who had to complain.

"It sounds to girly." He said with a disgusted look.

"But it sounds delicious right with all the sweets and food inside?" I said looking at him sweetly and he was about to still disagree but I kicked his shin with my foot really hard causing him to wince a little.

"Yea, it sound amazingly perfect." He said putting a thumb up.

"I thought so too." Rachel said smirking as she noticed Joeys pained face through the mirror.

"This is the place." Emily said smiling as she parked and shut of the ignition. We all stepped out if the car and I smiled lightly as I smelled the sweet smell of coffee and sweets from outside. The building was very nice and looked a little like a cabin as it had smoke coming from the top and the building was all made of logs with a window on the side that had a pink checkered curtain covering it. Their were a quite a few cars in the parking lot so I was guessing it was kind of a popular place. We opened up the door and a little jingle sounded through out the medium sized diner.

"Hello darlings! I've never seen y'all here before so I'm guessing your new here. Welcome to the Secret swirl! You can all follow me to your table." A lady that looked to be in her late 20's maybe early 30's said smiling sweetly at us. I gave her a smile in return also and we followed her over as she grabbed a few menus and silverware.

"Do y'all prefer a booth or a table with chairs or maybe even right up front?" She said gesturing to the seats by the front.

"Uh A booth is fine." I said after a minute of looking at everyone to see they didn't really care.

"Okay darlin. Just follow me." She told us as she led us to a booth that had a red seats and a wooden table. I slid in first and Joey sat next to me as Rachel and Em sat across from us.

"I couldn't help but notice your accent are y'all from England?" She asked and we all nodded.

"Yea we're here visiting our cousins." Rachel answered and she nodded setting down our menus in front of each of us.

"Well I hope ya all have a great time here in Los Angles." She told us giving us all a warm welcoming smile.

"Yes it's very nice here. Always sunny, in London right now it would be snowing and 30 degrees." Joey answered truthfully and we all nodded agreeing.

"Well that must be awful. I have always lived in a warm climate before I moved her I lived in Texas which is also very warm."She replied.

"Why caused you to move?" Emily asked her as she picked up her menu.

"I was ready for a change. I didn't want to live in Texas my whole life. I wanted to experience new places and I wanted to get away from those nasty bugs. If you don't like bugs I suggest never movin their. Those things are huge." She said shaking her head as she grabbed her pencil from behind her ear and pulled out her notepad and flipped to a blank page. "Now what can I get y'all?" She asked us.

"I'll just take a cup of coffee with some French vanilla creamer." I told her and she nodded writing it down.

"I'll have a water." Emily told her.

"I'll take a glass of lemonade." Rachel said as she looked at the menu.

"Okay so one lemonade and one water and a coffee.What about you young man?" She asked Joseph as she scribbled all the orders down.

"Make that 2 lemonades." He told her and she nodded.

"Okay I'll be right back with yours drinks. Oh and my name is Bethany by the way." She told us before walking off.

"See this place isn't bad at all." I told Joey and he shrugged.

"I guess it's okay." He said and I rolled my eyes knowing he was fighting a smile and that he actually liked it here.

"I like this feeling." Emily answered suddenly causing us all to give her a questioning look.

"What feeling?"Rachel asked her as she looked up from her menu.

"This normal feeling. I actually feel like a normal teenager having breakfast before heading off to school or maybe even work. Its nice." Emily said. I couldn't help but notice the longing in her voice.

"Why are you an agent if you want a normal life?" I asked her curiously.

"It's a cool job and if I had a normal life things would get boring." She said shrugging causing me to let out a small laugh.

"Yea it probably would." I nodded agreeing with her.

"But in general I like the action and you lean to appreciate the small normal moments in your life 10 times more." Emily added and Rachel nodded.

"Some people just don't realize and appreciate how great life could be." Rachel said and we all agreed.

"How about this,when we end this mission and we all go out clubbing." Joey suggested and I smiled.

"That sound great." I said excited.

"That does sound fun but we aren't old enough." Em pointed out and Joey shook his head at her making a tsk sound.

"So? We'll be normal teenagers for a night and make fake IDs." Joey told her and she thought about it for a minute before sighing and agreeing.

"Here you go, One water and Two lemonades plus a nice fresh cup of hot coffee with french vanilla creamer."Bethany said placing each of our drinks in front of us."Do y'all know what you want to eat?"

"Yep! I will just take a piece of chocolate chip coffee bread." I told her and she nodded.

"Can I have the number 4 meal the one with, 3 blueberry pancakes 3 sausage links and 2 pieces of bacon with toast?" Joey asked her.

"Yes of course." She told him writing it down before looking up at Emily and Rachel.

"It was hard to choose from all this good food but I'll just have a slice of apple pie." Emily told her.

"Can I have the number 1 meal of 2 pancakes and some scrambled eggs." Rachel asked and she nodded.

"I'll be back shortly with your orders." She told us all whole putting her pencil behind her ear before walking off to the counter.

"Your such a pig." I told Joey and he laughed lightly.

"How am I such a pig? I am a growing man." He said patting his stomach and I rolled my eyes.

"Your stopped growing a long time ago Joseph."I told him and he gave me a playful glare.

"It's Joey to you." He said trying to puff out his chest to look more intimidating. I laughed at that due to the fact that he may have muscles but he will never be intimidating to me.

"Yea, yea." I said patting his chest with a smile. About 20 minutes later Bethany returned with all the food and told us to call her over if we need anything else before rushing off to a couple coming in.

"This smells delicious!" Joey moaned and we all nodded.

"Joey you just may have to give me a bite." I said shrugging while looking innocent.

"Oh? says who?" He asked with a smirk.

"Says Agent Scotts. Ever heard of her?" I asked him.

"Oh you mean that really sexy agent that is madly in love with me? Yea I think so." Joey said and I felt my cheeks heat up a little and slapped his chest.

"Ha. Ha. Yea Your real funny." I told him sarcastically.

"Hello. Still here." Rachel said waving her hand across the table and in front of my face.

"She knows. She just couldn't get enough of the Joseph train." Joey said rubbing his stomach trying to look sexy before adding,"Choo! Choo! " He almost yelled causing a few people to look over as he lifted his arms up making them move. We all almost chocked and died on our foods at this but we ended up managing to live.

"Never. For our sake and Gods sake and for everyone else's sanity, ever do that again." Rachel said seriously and Emily and I nodded.

"Please."I told him and Emily repeated after me.

"Please."

"If you say train I will cut off everything on your body that proves your a man." I threatened him.

"Not little Joey!" Joey said loudly causing more people to look over here.

"Shut the hell up! Are you trying to cause a seen?!" Rachel whispered-yelled.

"No." He whispered-yelled back, mocking her, causing her to give him a fierce glare.

"Okay! Okay! Jeez I'm done!" Joey said raising his hands in surrender. Once I had finished my delicious chocolate chip coffee bread I grabbed my untouched fork and stabbed into one of the sauces Joey had on his plate.

"Thanks Love!" I said winking at him. Bethany walked by and I quickly called her name making her face us and walking over.

"What do y'all need?" She asked us.

"Can we have 2 to go boxes and the check please?" I asked her and she nodded. When she came back a few minutes later everyone put the leftovers in the boxes and we payed before heading out.

"Why are we even going to school today? We need to focus on our mission and get more juicy details." Rachel said rolling her eyes as she started the car.

"Well if we all don't go to school it would be pretty suspicious." Joey pointed out and Em and I nodded.

"Yea, yea." Rachel said before turning up the music. I smiled as I recognized the beat.

"You have an All Time low CD?" I asked her and she nodded.

"Yea! I love them!" She said and my smile widened who knew we actually had more in common then working at the EA. I nodded my head singing the words to weightless but my singing was cut to a end a minute later when we arrived at school. Sadly school had to be so close to the small diner. My eyes widened when we got out of the car as I seen Taylor making out with Lilly against the school. Is that the same sweet Lilly I met on the first day warning me to stay away from them?

Sorry this chapter was rubbish and took so long. I've have been busy. The musical I'm in is coming up in 3 weeks. Besides all that yes this is more of a filler chapter.As usual this chap is Unedited. You all Will NOT get an update next week since Next Sunday is my birthday(: But anyways you all know the drill,
