The fight was interrupted by the sound of breaking glass.

I met the surprised stares, with a triumphant glare.... through the shattered remains of the glass wall.

Hands on hips, I actually looked like I meant to do that.

To be honest, I was just as surprised as anyone.

Jump Boots.

It was a long shot, but it was the only thing I could think of.

I knew they generated energy and used the pressure of that built up force to let me jump high up in the air.

So if that force was focused in a solid kick, I could potentially kick a heavy object such as a bed through a wall of cheap glass.

Which I just did.

... Greatest moment of my life and no one even saw it except me...

I was probably meant to say something cool at this point... but my next words came out before I could think of anything.

"How dare you talk about me like I'm not in the room?" I hissed, shaking with anger.

"I. Am. Not. An. Idiot!"

Alan and Apollo stared... Then simultaneously groaned, slumping as the tension brought on from the dramatic fight scene was drained from their bodies.

It was just that... pathetic.

"For the love of..." Apollo facepalmed, giving me an exasperated look.

He rose to his feet, releasing Alan but still standing over him. "Did you have to break the wall just to tell me that? It wasn't exactly easy to make you know..."

"Shut it you lollipop sucking shorty," I said, cutting off any indignation with a fierce glare. "Let's get one thing straight here."

I flung out a hand.

"No matter how stupid my choices sometimes are, I always make them for myself. Got it?"

.... No one jumped to argue with that theory...

"With my good looks, brains and talent, I could be doing anything I wanted right now."

The harsh truth.

"The fact that I still hang out with these losers is because I want to. So stop looking down on me as some sort of victim. And you..."

I pointed at Alan. "Skip the angst and get to the rescuing me part already. If I miss lunch because this dragged out too long, you will be held responsible."

My expression made it very clear he wouldn't want that.

Instead of leaping to obey my orders like they were supposed to, the two giants just... Stared at me.

Not really the reaction I was hoping for...

Still awkwardly pointing, I felt the urge to crawl back into the depths my prison and pretend I just hadn't said anything.

Then Alan cracked up laughing.

... Yea, still not the reaction I wanted...

Apollo raised his eyebrow as the boy on the ground rolled onto his side, clutching his rips with one hand and trying to muffle his laughter with the other.

"No fair...Maddison....! Don't do that... When I'm...Trying... to be... Serious..." He gasped through his fit of laughter.

He tried to say something else, but couldn't suppress his laughter long enough to do it.

I felt my eye twitch dangerously.

"Don't laugh at me!" I shouted, my hands clenching and unclenching with their desire to claw his eyes out. " You can piss right off now if all you're going to do is screw with me!"

"God... Why didn't... I bring... My camera..." Alan cut off with a yelp when Apollo grabbed him by his crimson hair, yanking his head back.

"I've had enough," Apollo muttered, using his free hand to reach for Alan's pocket, going for the King's card.

"That's a shame." Alan sighed, his voice finally losing its cheer.

"We're just getting to the fun part."

"What...?" Before he could finish, a foot connected with the side of his head.

Apollo was flung away with the force of the kick, rolling with the motion and flipping up to his feet a few feet away.

Alex stood over Alan, blood slowly dripping from his lowered face.

He was still, almost robotically so, his body tense with restrained violence.

Oh no.

I had only seen Alex like this once before...

It hadn't ended well.

Before Apollo had a chance to recover, Alex crossed the distance between them, slamming his fist into the other boy's face.

Apollo stumbled back, only managing to duck an instant before the next blow landed.

Apollo reached towards the outstretched arm, intending to pin Alex the same way he had just Alan...Making the mistake of lowering his guard to attempt the move.

Alex quickly turned the tables, moving past Apollo's raised hands and kneeing him in the stomach.

"Damn." Apollo gasped, winded by the blow. "He wasn't like this a moment ago."

Alex's attacks continued, brutally fast, and nothing Apollo tried worked.

Alex saw through every move, reacted instantly to every movement, and didn't hold back an inch.

Soon, Alex had the petite boy pinned against the wall.

Apollo hung limp, unable to do anything as Alex raised his fist to land the finishing blow.

"Alex."

Alan's quiet voice caused Alex to freeze.

Slowly, he turned to look at his brother.

Those cold, watchful eyes didn't hold a trace of the Alex I knew.

"He won't forgive us if we hurt him. " Alan murmured, a small smile on his face.

Just like Alex, his expression lacked all its usual warmth.

"Put the boy down."

After a tense pause, Alex did as his twin asked.

Apollo slid to the floor, watching Alex carefully through pain hazed eyes.

"Your temper has gotten the better of you again, brother," Alan said quietly.

Alex didn't look away from the boy crumpled at his feet... And Alan sighed.

"It isn't worth it, Alexander." He reached a hand out. "Come away."

This time Alex didn't hesitate.

With dangerous grace, Alex made his way towards Alan, abandoning Apollo, like he didn't exist.

"So, it was true." Apollo murmured, oddly calm, despite his injuries. "I didn't really think it was possible... when they told me you could do it."

"Compose yourself, Alex. This is hardly something to fret about." Alan quietly soothed, ignoring Apollo to smile at his twins Alex's blank expression.

"Besides, I know how you hate to seem so brutish in front of ladies."

There was a slight twitch in Alex's expression... Proving that Alan is just that annoying.

"I was warned." Apollo murmured, watching the brothers. "When he snaps, the Hill's sour puss loses his mind."

I cringed, wanting to deny it... but too scared to speak when Alex was acting cray-cray...

"He doesn't feel fear or mercy, able to react instantly to any attack or threat. He acts on pure instinct. " Apollo quoted with a sigh. "So If you have to piss Alex Floid off, make sure the brother is there too, otherwise your screwed."

Using the wall, Apollo slowly climbed to his feet.

Alex jerked at the movement, watching the other boy intently.

Apollo chuckled to himself, leaning against the wall to stay on his feet.

"The ultimate Queen, existing only to protect the King."
