Claire's POV

Ew, there is school today.

I mean, it's not that bad, since I'm homeschooled. Well, it's technically called cyber school. Mother didn't want other kids to influence me badly. I don't want to wake up.

I mean, I'm obviously awake at the moment, but I feel like today is gonna be a good day. How do I know that? Well, it's raining. In any other circumstances, I would hate rain, but today is different. I love waking up to the relaxing sound of rain. Usually it casts this gloomy feel over me, but this is different. Either that, or it's the fact that I'm burning with blush. Do I feel butterflies in my stomach? No, it feels more like fire. Is that normal?

Geez, relax Claire. He gave you a chocolate bar, not a wedding ring.

"Don't lose hope yet child."

Merlin's teasing voice sounded throughout my mind. I groaned and squeezed my eyes, hoping to shut his voice out.

"You're annoying in the mornings. Why don't you just text me like a normal wizard?" I asked out loud, kind of croaking in my morning voice.

"Well, good morning to you too. And nope. This way you can't ignore me like you ignore text messages."

Again, his voice seemed to be teasing.

"What do you want?" I asked, sighing. Couldn't a girl enjoy the bliss of memories without a nosy wizard teasing her about it? Is that too much to ask?

"You wound me. Aren't BFF's supposed to enjoy each other's presence?"

He asked, sounded a bit offended.

"The opposite, really." I murmured. "Anyway, what do you want?" I asked him, hoping to get a couple more minutes of shut eye.

"To teach you. " He replied. I furrowed my eyebrows, feeling a bit relaxed now that I had my fellow tweezers back. Back in holdrex, I had bushes as eyebrows.

"Teach me?" I asked. I waved the question off. "Cyber school does that for me." I said smiling, and snuggling up to my silk pillow. I heard Merlin sigh, was he impatient?

Suddenly, the blankets were ripped off of my body, and freezing cold water splashed on me. Gasping and springing out of bed, I opened my eyes wide. Nobody was in my room.

But yet- there was a bucket hovering in the air, and my comforter on the floor. I was frozen in fear.

"Merlin, please tell me that's you." I pleaded. I heard him snicker, and I automatically knew his response. I placed a hand over my heart, and soaking wet shirt.

Now get up, time for lessons.

His voice rang out in my head again. I quickly looked at my alarm clock and saw that it was seven AM. I winced.

"Class doesn't start until eight." I pointed out, a bit aggravated that I was soaked head to toe in ice water. I was shaking a bit at the cold feeling. As I child, I wasn't really good with cold things. Does that explain why I didn't get along with mother? I'm kidding, I hope that mother didn't hear that. Wait, it's not like she can read my thoughts. Real dumb moment Claire. I massaged my temples as Merlin's voice rang out again.

Not those classes you idiot. You have no more of those idiotic classes. They don't matter to someone like you. He stated.

"Someone like me?" I asked. My mind automatically went to Adele's song, and I had a strong urge to sing. I winced. Do I always ask this much questions? Must get annoying.

"An elemental." He clarified.

If that cold death water didn't wake me up, those two words surely did. My eyes widened and a grin lit up my face.

"Is this like cool training?" I asked, imagining those movie scenes with intense ninja fighting.

"Get your heard out of the gutter girl! Meet me in the fields in about twenty minutes." He instructed as my grin dropped.

"I can't get ready in that little amount of time!" I exclaimed scrambling out of my soaked bed. (And yes, still kind of upset that it's soaked.)

"Well, you better learn." He said, no concern in his voice. I nodded and rubbed my hand over my face.

"Okay." I agreed. He didn't respond.

$$$$ (HAPPY HALLOWEEN GUYS! And no -.- this chapter isn't over yet. Geez, I'm not that lame guys.) $$$$$

After a five minute shower, I got dressed in what I believed was a training outfit. Running shorts, a tank top, a pony tail, and some nike running shoes. Was that okay? I mean, the whole outfit was color coordinated in black and white. That's stylish, right? Why did I care, it's just an outfit that I sweat in. Should it be heat proof? If I know anything, it's that things may set on fire like the last time. Hopefully I don't faint like a wussy. By now, the rain has stopped, and the sun was out.

I jogged down the stairs, hoping that my mother was still asleep. Atticus the vampire is probably asleep too. Or atleast, I'm assuming from that time that I woke up in his bed. What was up with that? I never even asked! Don't tell me it slipped my mind? Anyway, he was asleep that day, so why wouldn't he sleep any other day? I wonder if he has a coffin. Again, why do I care? I sighed and jogged out of the door.

Almost immediately, I was greeted with a breeze which kind of made me feel better. It wasn't as cold as that day a couple weeks back at the ball. I wonder where the cold had gone? Maybe it's just a warm morning, aside from the previous rain. Even the damp feeling was gone, which was probably the work of Merlin. The sun was brightening the fields up, casting a glow over everything. The pink flowers that spread across the field still stood strong, even throughout the winter. They looked especially beautiful in this morning glow. My jogging came to a stop as I observed my surroundings.

The field was huge, but at some point, it stopped and turned into woods. Mother owned this land, and I'm pretty sure she boasted about this place at social parties. A smile lit up my face as I remembered memories from this place.

I used to pick flowers from here and give them to my mother as a gift, only to get scolded by her. She always said that nature was a gift, and to leave the flowers alone. I mean, ripping flowers out of the ground wasn't such a cruel thing to a five year old, but I remember being sad at the fact that she hadn't accepted my gift. She had seemed so butt hurt for those flowers. I let out a chuckle at my memories.

I stared over the field in content, and felt relaxed. I almost forgot what I came to the fields for. I must've looked like a weirdo standing around staring at a bunch of flowers, but I honestly didn't care. I was brought out of my daze as I sensed someone approaching me. I spun around in time to see two people approaching me.

One was Merlin, the wizard that apparently doesn't exist in Valdus's mind. And the second person? Well mr.King himself. I gave them confused looks. I mean, if Valdus didn't believe in wizards, what are the chances that Atticus did? I glanced at Merlin, seeing him in a weird get up that almost made me laugh.

He was wearing a hat. Not just any hat, no, he was wearing a wizard hat. What kind of hat is that you ask? The type that Mickey mouse wears. A blue, pointy, star filled hat. He had the robes to match it too! To that, a rumble of laughter escaped me. He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion.

"Halloween must've came early this year!" I teased, as he looked down at his attire in confusion.

"This?" He pointed at what he was wearing. "Well this actually shows my wizard placement. How strong I am." He stated with pride.

"Which is?" I asked, wondering how strong this playful old man is. He laughed, wiggling his eyebrows.

"You'll find out." He stated. I shrugged.

I switched my gaze to Atticus to find him already staring at me. I didn't look away, but did something that almost seemed normal to me. I 'inspected' what he was wearing today.

His hands were in his pockets of his Nike running pants, not really joggers. He was wearing a white V-neck, not surprising me. He liked wearing those. Usually he wore black V-necks, but this white one matched the two white stripes running along the side of his pants. His muscles looked absolutely delicious in that shirt, not to mention his tattoos.

His tattoos were pretty interesting, but I didn't have any time to ask what they meant, because his throat cleared. I snapped my eyes up to his eyes, but they automatically dropped to his grinning lips, noting out the dimple. His eyes were still staring at me intensely, as I observed him.

"I brought water bottles." Merlin said out loud, pointing at a pack of water bottles a couple feet away from him. Did he say that in a suggesting tone? My eyes snapped to Merlin's wiggling eyebrows and I felt myself scowl a bit. He let out a boom of laughter as Atticus stayed silent, although I did see the corner of his lips twitch.

I glared at both of them, keeping my mouth shut.

"So-" Atticus started, and both me and Merlin stared at him. It's strange how with just one word, he got our attention. Merlin stared at him respectfully as I just stared.

"Are we gonna train?" He asked, smirking. My expression automatically brightened as I wondered what this day would bring.

"Hey!" I heard a shout. I snapped my head over to the woods to see a figure walking out. Valdus?

"You guys weren't gonna start her training without me, were you?!" He shouted out to us. I immediately felt Merlin's mood drop. He scowled.

"Who invited him?" Merlin asked in distaste. I stifled a laugh as Valdus didn't stop walking.

"I invited my damn self old man!" He shouted towards us. He lifted his arm and jiggled something wildly.

"I brought the beer!" He shouted out, I could hear the grin in his voice. I wrinkled my nose in distaste at the beer. I could hear a sigh. I glanced towards Atticus to see him rubbing his temples.

"I told him to bring deer. Not beer." He said, sounding a bit frustrated. I raised my eyebrows as Valdus finally reached us. He put the beer pack down and grinned at us in accomplishment.

"What an idiot." Merlin muttered. Valdus chose to ignore him. He looked at Atticus for approval of the beer. Atticus stared at him.

"I guess if you want something done the right way, you'll have to do it yourself." He muttered, eyes turning red. He looked at me, frowning a bit.

"I'll be right back." He told me as I nodded, feeling displeasure at the fact that he was leaving. To this, he glanced at the woods, and disappeared. Did he do that fast running thing? Merlin rolled his eyes and walked away from Valdus. To this, Valdus frowned and looked at me.
