"Next week I plan on having the pack go into the nearby city if all seems safe," Alpha Thaddeus began, looking at everyone in the eye. I glance around and see men, about seven of them, nodding their heads. "We need to make sure he is away from this area."

I look at my mate in confusion; he notices this but doesn't glance my way.

"Robert, any leads your group has found yet?"

I follow his gaze and watch as 'Robert' straightens up in his seat. He coughs nervously before meeting my gaze and going back to the Alpha. What is going on?

"We haven't tracked him down yet Sir, where ever he is hiding, we're very certain he doesn't want to be found."

Alpha Thaddeus slowly nods before glancing at another man, who might be in his early thirties. There is no way of knowing so as werewolves tend to age slower than humans by the time we hit age twenty-five.

"And what about your group, John?" This time 'John' didn't display any look of nervousness or fear on his face. He calmly responded.

"No leads at the moment but I must agree with Robert, wherever he is hiding he doesn't want to be found."

Again, Alpha Thaddeus nodded slowly taking these all in. I absolutely don't know what was going on at the moment but I wouldn't want to miss out on whatever they were talking about.

My mates sonorous voice brought me back to the meeting, again.

"We need to keep looking for him. Robert, your group look in this area," he said pointing at a location on the map in front of us. I knew the outline of it; it was the entire pack grounds. I looked on amazed because I hadn't known the pack was this big. I found where we were at the moment and from here it seemed about twenty miles from the city.

"John, your group look near the city, he could be blending in with the humans for now."

Kind of feeling fed up with not knowing anything besides a male in this, I awkwardly coughed. Big mistake. Because everyone had their eyes on me in milliseconds. Not about to chicken out, I asked my question.

"Who are you looking for?"

An awkward silence descended on us all after my words were out. I was currently scratching my knuckles nervously, before meeting my mates gaze. His answer didn't help make me any less nervous.

"Someone who should have been dead a few days ago."

Figuring that's the only response I'll get, I kept my mouth shut. I wasn't satisfied with that answer, because there was no name.

"According to the information from last week, the rogue attack happened around the time of seven in the morning. We won't get any leads unless we check up with some of the human witnesses," spoke up another man. I was starting to feel like women weren't usually allowed into these types of meetings. But for me to be here, I felt incredibly special.

"No, she doesn't know anything," my mate suddenly spoke up glaring at John. John sent Alpha Thaddeus a look which I couldn't understand. But that didn't surprise me. It was the courage John had to stand up to his own Alpha. It was as if Alpha Thaddeus wasn't even considered an Alpha to John.

I glanced in between them noticing how I was the only one blocked from this conversation. I could have tried forcing myself into the mind link but it'd be impossible to do so, especially if it involves the Alpha. The Alphas - being much stronger and smarter than the rest of the pack- are the toughest werewolves in the world. It'd take more than 10 normal werewolves to take one down.

I continued glancing between the two but accidentally let out a sigh which got everyone's attention. I sunk lower in my seat but I could still feel everyone's piercing gaze on me.

"Annabel," I sat frozen for a few seconds trying to understand what I just heard. My name? Yes. But my mate... saying my name. This was a first.

I faced him with a slightly confused look on my face. He didn't wait for me to answer though.

"Did your old Alpha have any connections to other packs, werewolves, or even humans- that you might know of? "

The wind was knocked out of me at that question. Why was he bringing Alpha Braytons name up into a meeting if he was dead? By the looks on everyone's face- Alpha Thaddeus had a stone cold expression- I was missing something huge. And as the seconds ticked by, my mind was going on a wild journey.

"No..." I trailed off still wondering why he was suddenly bringing this up. I had an idea but it couldn't be true, right? "Why?"

He just continued looking at me making me all the more nervous. It was as if he didn't hear me and was now staring right through me as if I were glass. His dark eyes and the way they would narrow made me feel as if he was trying to intimidate me. If that was his goal... he achieved it alright.

Trying not to show that he was winning, I put on an emotionless front. He probably already noticed what I was trying to do, but I didn't stop.

"Why are you asking me about him if he's dead?"

"We don't know if he is actually dead," he replied calmly.

I -on the other hand- almost choked on my saliva. Rising up from my chair slowly, I raised my eyebrows at him.

"What's that suppose to mean?" I kept my gaze on him, forgetting about the people leaving the room in a hurried manner. I guess no one wanted to see what would happen next.

Thaddeus sighed running a hand through his hair. I have to admit that was a picture perfect moment because his muscles flexed when he did that. Forgetting about the matter at hand, I unconsciously checked him out from head to toe. Just like the first time I met him.

A loud sound had me jumping back into reality. I glanced up at Thaddeus who was now standing over me. Unconsciously, I flinched back. Thaddeus, wore a closed off expression. I knew I just made things even worse than it had to be.

"I'm sorry, I just-"

He pushed past me without a word. I stumbled a bit from his rough push and rubbed my shoulder. Sighing, I left the building aware of the stares I was now receiving.

And I thought this day might actually be good.

-

I don't know what I was doing or even where I was going. I just kind of let my legs take me where ever.

They guided me towards the pack house and from there I went on a search for Rose or Mason. Sighing, which is what I've been pretty much doing these past few days, I let myself inside the house. It wasn't much different from the first time I walked in. People were bustling around trying to get to wherever.

I first checked the kitchen but they weren't there. I tried sniffing them out, but it was almost impossible to do so with different scents everywhere.

I debated going upstairs. I wasn't really sure which room was who's, but I guess I was willing to try. No matter how embarrassing it may be.

I knocked on the first door I saw and waited patiently. Even though waiting 'patiently' was the last thing I wanted to do. No one answered or opened the door so I let myself in. I glanced inside but to my dismay, they weren't there.

Shutting the door, I turned to face a familiar looking guy. I backed up but remembered I had a door behind me. My luck.

"Is there a reason you where in my room?" He crossed his arms over his chest making his muscles bulge out. I refused to look at him which probably made him angry but I didn't care; I really just need to find Mason.

Suddenly his hand went out and gripped my chin forcing me to meet his gaze. His narrowed brown eyes looked me over before a bewildered look crossed his face. He dropped my chin in a hastily manner.

"You're the Alphas mate," he wasn't questioning me. He was stating it.

Taking this as a great advantage I stepped forward making him back up a few steps.

"Yes I am," I retorted. "And that means that I'm your future Luna as well. "

The guy physically gulped. I hid the smirk on my face very well even though I was slightly feeling smug at the moment. But the task at hand didn't leave my mind.

"I apologize, Luna-" I held a hand to shush him up.

"Just forget it," I reply. "But never lay a hand on a female like what you just did to me, or there will be consequences."

"Yes, Luna," he stammered.

"Now," I began getting back on track. "Where is Mason and Roses room?"

His eyes widened. I guess he probably thought I hadn't recognized him. But I did.

He was one of Masons friends that left the day before to go to training; the boys that were playing football.

After guiding me through countless halls, turns and rooms, I finally found their room.

"Thanks," I muttered to whoever the guy was. He stiffly nodded and when I gestured for him to leave he left in a hastily manner.

I slammed the door open for dramatic effect before slapping my hands over my face. I heard movement and a groan but moments later, they were both completely dressed.

"Having to walk in on my two best friends getting it on like wild dogs is something I never want to see again." I gave them both the evil eye watching as Mason rolled his eyes and Rose blushed until she resembled a tomato.

"Well, knock," Mason says leaning back onto the bed. "Is that so hard to do? Like, can't I make love to my girl without being interrupted?"

"You didn't say you were going to make love to me," spoke Rose with a weird look on her face. "You said by the end of the morning I'd be sore and-"

"Shut up please!" I exclaimed covering my ears.

Mason smirked and reached to grab a shirt and put it on since he didn't have one on.

"Your innocence scares me sometimes Anna," he mocks. "You're nineteen and have never engaged in sexual intercourse."

"She will if Mr Alpha finally comes around and slams some sense into her. Literally." My face went hot from what Rose just said. Mason howls in laughter and high fives Rose who has a smirk on her face.

"I went on a search to find you guys and now you guys are just making fun of me," I say with a little pout.

"Sorry Anna, but why were you looking for us?"

"Because I have absolutely no one to talk too. And today wasn't as bad as yesterday because my mate actually included me in something this morning even though it didn't end well."

"What happened?" Rose asks with a curious expression. Mason had the same expression on his face.

"He wanted me to accompany him to a pack meeting," I reply nonchalant. Roses eyes bulge out while Mason raises his eyebrows.

"And?" They both ask glancing at each other.

"It's a meeting," I shrug. "I can't tell."

Rose nods in understanding before slapping Masons wandering hand away from her thigh.

"Anyways," I start, glancing at the clock beside on their nightstand. "It is eight and I was wondering if you two wanted to hang out but I see I interrupted something so I'll just go."

I sigh dramatically and make a grand show on opening the door. Turning back I toss them a quick glance before slowly closing the door inch by inch.

Mason sighs dramatically too before saying, "stop."

I fling the door open and turn around to make sure he is talking to me.

"Alright, let's do something," I say clapping my hands together. Mason gets up sluggishly and pulls Rose right up, off the bed. "What do you ladies want to do?"

"Don't you think we should eat first?" Rose answers putting on mismatched socks.

"I was about to get my breakfast," Mason mumbled looking at Rose. A moment of silence passed as we tried to make do his words. But then it came all too fast.

"Mason!" Rose exclaimed disapproving. Although her tone told me she didn't appreciate the comment, her eyes shone with amusement.

I stood near the doorway watching the two mess around and ... just be themselves.

Someday I'd love to have that.
