Mason
"I can't believe you guys left her!" I exclaimed.
"We thought she came back," spoke up Keith who had a very scared expression on his face along with the rest of the group.
"We need to go back for her," I stated gently removing Rose from my lap.
"It's twelve in the morning," says Rose. "What about the Alpha?"
I thought hard about telling him. The alpha and I were obviously not on good terms since day one. He did have a right to know about his own mate, even if he was a jerk.
I watched the fear cross the guys faces as they thought of what the alpha would do.
"Hey," I turned my head to see the person who was speaking, "for all we know she could be in her bed at the alphas house."
Ari. I was feeling quite annoyed with this girl. First, she wants to go to the club with Anna. Then she gets drunk with her. Lastly, she leaves her behind. All in all, I was furious with her.
"I think-"
Rogue alert! Rogue alert! Everyone remain indoors as the guards scour the area.
My head whipped over to Rose. She had the same expression on her face as I did. Horror.
If Anna was still somewhere outside, maybe even in the city… I don't even want to finish that sentence.
"I don't care if we have to stay inside," I stated, fear growing inside of me at what Alpha Thaddeus might do to me if he found out I disobeyed,"I'm going to go find her."
Rose grabbed onto my hands. "There is a rogue alert at the moment Mason. Anna could be on her way here or one of the guards could find her."
"Don't worry," she continued cupping my face in her hands and gently pressing her lips to mine.
Oh God, I love this girl.
"What if they don't find her?" I ask her.
"They will." The determined look in her eyes made me believe that they could find her. That they will find her. -
Boy was I wrong.
The next morning Alpha Thaddeus requested everyone to attend a pack meeting. That was how I knew they hadn't found her.
The people in the pack house -especially the ones that went to the club, had nervous looks on their faces. We all knew this wasn't going to be good. Rose squeezed my hand, telling me how she felt through that one squeeze. I returned the same thing wanting her to know I was very scared too.
As we entered the meeting hall or whatever it was, I noticed how the Alpha and the Beta both looked equally troubled. Even though Alpha Thaddeus was better at hiding it, you could still see the anger in his eyes.
When the last of us arrived, he began to speak.
"Last night," he begins looking at everyone, "we had a few rogues in the city most of you went into. We got there late and because of that, they got away. Now it isn't very clear what they came here for, but one thing for certain is they took my mate. The Luna of this pack."
There was a chorus of gasps and angry shouts. I murmured a few cuss words. I fucking knew it.
I glanced at the guys and girls who were with her last. If I thought they looked afraid before, it was nothing compared to how they looked know. Even Ari looked like she was going to piss her pants. I liked that.
"As we continue to search for her, I want everyone to stay indoors just for safety reasons," he adds, "and I want everyone who was with her in the city to stay behind. Everyone else is dismissed."
Rose and I couldn't really stay as we weren't with her in the city. The Alpha used a command anyways so anyone who tried to lie couldn't. I left with Rose last, to see who was with Anna yesterday. There was a very large group.
The door was shut before I could hear what he was about to say to them.
Beta Jay
I looked around at all the faces of the teenagers who were with Annabel last. This was a pretty big group. I knew most of them since I taught them fighting techniques in the afternoons.
Alpha Thaddeus stood at the front of it all. He had his hands crossed across his chest and a composed face even though I know he wasn't even close to that.
"This group is mainly of teens," he starts, "am I correct?"
A few slow nods here and there but no one dares to speak.
"How is it that this large group of werewolves manage to lose their Luna's whereabouts?!" He loses his composed face and now he just shows how he feels like at the moment: pissed off.
The teens begin to shuffle uncomfortably but I don't blame Alpha Thaddeus. His mate- our Luna- was just kidnapped by rogues under many werewolf noses. Even I was pissed off that they didn't watch her carefully. Whether she knows or not, she is Luna, or soon to be Luna. People are going to be targeting her just like last night.
"Everyone who was at the club with her stay behind. The rest can leave unless anyone has any information," he commands. The majority shake their heads and rush towards the door. That was the easy thing for them. I was beginning to sort of feel bad for the ones staying behind. They haven't seen anything yet.
"Now," he says observing the fifteen or so teens, "who's idea was it to attend the club?"
No one spoke up or stepped forward for a few seconds until an all to familiar person stepped forward with her head down. The Alphas face changed into full out fury.
He wasn't the only one furious with her. Arianna. The same girl who tried to leave with Annabel so late at night. I always knew she was trouble for Annabel. The stupid thing is, that she didn't even learn from her first mistake.
"Because of your reckless suggestion, my mate, your Luna, is currently suffering in the hands of rogues!" He probably screamed only to frighten her but he didn't need to seeing as she was already shaking and crying. Pathetic.
"I remember this group arriving at the pack house, but I hadn't seen my mate, thinking that she would have been back at the house." I listen to how he says the house instead of our house. I can still see he hasn't accepted her then.
Alpha Thaddeus isn't a bad guy. I've grown up with him. He just has a very bad past that makes him like he is now. He hasn't had the best role models to guide him into the right direction.
"Why wasn't she with you?" This question was directed to everyone. Yet no one wanted to answer, in fear of ticking off their alpha.
"Why wasn't she with you?" He demanded but this time he added much more force to his words.
One of the males, Daniel, stepped forward. He coughed before answering the question.
"We thought she came back without us sir," he said in a quiet voice.
"Well you thought wrong!" He exclaimed. "I want to know how you all turned a blind eye on her."
"Well, we went to the club," Dan swallowed, "and we all split up. Last person who was with her was Ari."
My fists clenched and unclenched seeing Ari stand there still crying.
The alpha walked to her. "Of course. Of fucking course!"
I decided to step in before the girl was physically hurt by the Alpha. Even though our pack was known for being violent and pretty damn scary, we never hit females at all. That was one of the biggest rule Alpha Thaddeus made, when he first became Alpha.
"Arianna," she looked at me at the sound of my voice, "what were you and the Luna doing? Tell us exactly what happened."
Even though I was using a calm voice, I was far from that.
"We were drinking," she began instantly making the Alpha growl in anger, "and then she told me she had to use the washroom. I stayed behind but went to one of the girls that were dancing and asked for the time. Seeing the time, I rushed to get everyone so we could leave but Annabel still wasn't back so I checked in the washroom but she wasn't there. I left and even went outside but she wasn't there. Her scent was strong outside so we assumed she left us, so we… came back here."
I thought over what she said. I know she wouldn't dare lie especially with the Alpha watching her every move at the moment.
"My trackers found blood and three different rogue scents five minutes away from the club," spoke up the alpha, "they found a lot of blood. Her blood. And many humans report seeing a large number of very large dogs entering the woods, and hearing a female scream near the area we found her blood."
"So not only did you manage to lose the Luna, but you all managed to send the humans suspicions about the woods," he growls. I knew he was close to shifting so I mind linked him.
Alpha, I could handle this, you might want to go cool off a bit.
Alpha Thaddeus turned around and nodded once before leaving the room.
I don't want to see the girls face for a while.
And then he blocked me off.
I turned back to the teens who were now looking at me.
"I want her out of here," I said to the guards, motioning to the still crying girl. She was quickly removed from the room.
"Where do you want us to take her?" Asked one of the guards.
"She's on lock down for now," I retort looking back at the group of kids in front of me.
I heard her faintly cry out. I internally sighed. She shouldn't be crying over lockdown that is not the worst thing to happened. She could be taken to the cells. Anyways lockdown is just being kept inside your room with one guard stationed outside for a very long period. Like I said, it wasn't really bad.
"As for the rest of you," I state, "each and everyone of you will be cleaning whatever is necessary for the next month and a half."
I was slightly more kinder than Alpha Thaddeus. Its just always been like that ever since we were kids. He was always the more tougher one while I was much more quiet and laid back. Knowing him though, he might have sent them to cells for a maximum three days. I'm letting them do chores and one girl on lockdown.
As they walk out, I try to mind link the Alpha but he still has me blocked out. Instead I head to the building where all the trackers are at the moment.
Hopefully we'll find her soon.

"What happened?" Was the first thing I asked as Keith and the others walked through the front door of the pack house.
Keith looked shaken up and so did the others. "The Alpha is pissed off, if it wasn't for the Beta we would all be in cells."
"So no punishment?" I ask bewildered. Keith shook his head.
"We do get punishments," he states, "chores for the next month and a half."
"Bullshit!" Rose put a comforting hand on my shoulder and was whispering into my ear trying to comfort me. Unfortunately, it wasn't working. Much.
"Hey!" Keith shouted back. "I'm feeling fucking guilty and so are the rest of us, don't keep screaming at us. As if we hadn't had enough of that."
"Boys," one of the older ladies says stepping in between us, "there are children here and it would not help anyone if you both stand here cursing at each other."
I look around noticing a crowd around us. I sigh and apologize as Keith apologizes too.
Rose pulls me to our room. That is when I start to feel guilty. While Anna was out there not knowing that she was about to be kidnapped by rogues, I was here going at it like crazy dogs with Rose. If I hadn't of insisted on a day with just Rose and had just gone with Anna to the city, she would still be here.
Rose shuts the door and cups my face in her hands. "I know you feel guilty, but Mason if wasn't your fault. No one knew Anna was going to be taken by rogues."
I shake my head and remove her hands from my face. "If I hadn't insisted on a day with just you, I would have been there with her, protecting her, dammit."
"You regret having sex with me don't you?" I sighed and shook my head.
"I don't regret it," I tell her wrapping her in my arms, "I'm just scared of what the rogues are planning to do with her."
"Probably use her as bait," she murmurs against my neck. I was about to ask her how she knew but I remembered that she once was a rogue."How do you think her parents are holding up?"
"Oh shit," I say stepping back, "I totally forgot."
I pull open the door, interlacing my fingers with Rose, and rush to find her parents. I knock on Anna's parents bedroom door. There is shuffling around inside and sniffles but the door is eventually opened.
"Oh Mason, Rose," says Anna's dad, "we're not doing so good at the moment."
I looked past him to see his wife bawling her eyes out on the bed. Kleenex tissues lay scattered all over the bed.
Rose lets me go to comfort Anna's mom. I focus on the way she sits beside Anna's mom as if she was her own mom and softly rubs her back mumbling soothing words to her.
I watch as she continues to do this. My mate. This was just simply Rose. Even though her own parents were most likely murdered, she still put on a brave face for others no matter what. Rose taught me that you could get through the difficult situations no matter what.
"The Alpha will find her," I say to Anna's dad.
"I hope so."
