When you're suppose to be ignoring someone, it's suppose to be easy especially if you're mad at that person. Hence, thats why you probably ignore that person in the first place.

The difficult part about ignoring someone though is when they try to talk to you. That was my problem at the moment.

My mate had just stormed- OK I'm exaggerating- into the pack house, and even though I really didn't think he'd come for me, I wasn't really surprised.

Rose was right about him storming into the room. Moments before he arrived, Mason had been in here to collect somethings for the night. Even though it was just after six in the evening, he said he planned on going to sleep early. Rose and I obviously didn't believe him.

Anyways, the moment Mason left, was the same moment, I picked up on my mates scent. I guess Thaddeus had noticed a males scent with mine but hadn't noticed Roses. And with the closed door, I'm assuming he thought Mason and I were up to bad things.

When he stormed inside the room with eyes full of anger and surprisingly betrayal, I immediately stood up. When he glanced inside the room and noticed that it was just Rose (who was looking extremely pale) and I, he calmed down but not by a lot.

"What are you doing in here?" He asked with a hard tone.

"I should be asking you that," I retorted. "Why can't I converse with a friend?"

"What was the male doing in here?"

I rolled my eyes and huffed. "He shares this room with his mate," I say gesturing towards Rose who still looked frozen, "and he just came to pick up some belongings."

Thaddeus, I guess, seemed alright with my answer. I -on the other hand- was completely pissed off he would storm in here and not explain why.

"What are you doing here?" The question slipped out of my mouth.

"I'm going somewhere and I need you with me," he replied.

I admit I felt shocked by his bluntness and that he needed me. "Where?"

"You'll find out when we get there," he replies turning on his heel and leaving the room.

I turned to Rose who unfroze.

"Why are you still here? You heard him, he needs you."

I dashed out the room and after my mate.

"I didn't know the pack had vehicles they share," I mumble.

"Well, we need to get to and from places but we can't always be in wolf form," Thaddeus replies.

I nodded feeling absolutely confused. Wasn't he just mad at me this morning? Now here we were having a road trip to some place I don't know.

"Can I ask where were going?"

He didn't respond. The car ride was completely silent after I asked him about our location.

He sat in the drivers seat with one hand on the steering wheel and the other on the arm rest. I was sitting beside him moving around. It was hard to sit still when all I could think of where my emotions towards him.

When we neared our destination, I was relieved to finally be out of the car. I could see where we were clearly, but I didn't understand. I turned to him with a confused expression but he didn't look at me. He kept his eyes on the road.

When he pulled over, he sighed and ran a hand through his hair. He blew through his lips before turning to me.

"Do you trust me?"

His question caught me of guard. I hadn't really expected this from him but I thought over it. Did I trust him?

The answer was pretty damn obvious but I didn't know how he'd react. I played with my fingers for a few moments before answering him. "No."

His response surprised me. "I didn't really expect you to."

He opened the car door before climbing out. I stayed inside not really sure if I was suppose to follow him or not.

"Just trust me this once," he said as he watched me, watching him.

I reluctantly got out and slammed the door shut. I followed closely behind Thaddeus as he led me somewhere. I didn't glance down or anywhere for that fact. I kept my eyes on Thaddeus' tense back.

I was too afraid to speak up now. We were both surrounded by tomb stones, I had no idea if speaking about our problems would be pleasent to the dead.

Finally when Thaddeus slowed down, I knew we were here. He came to a complete stop and kept his eyes on the grave stone. I glanced at the name engraved on top.

Elena Petrova Knox 1957-2004 Beloved mate, wife, Luna and mother

I stared at the name in silence. It didn't take a genius to find out that the grave in front of me must have belonged to my mates dead mother.

Afraid of breaking the silence, I numbly placed my hand on his arm making him stiffen. He suddenly relaxed though before I drew back.

"You must be wondering why I brought you here," he says. His voice was blank of emotion. "This is my mother."

I nodded without really saying anything.

"How much of the journal did you read?" He asked turning around to face me.

"I read enough," I replied my voice coming out loud in the still cemetery.

He nodded and turned to face the grave.

"You know about my father?"

"Yes," I retorted weakly.

"About what he did?"

"Yes."

"What about how she died?" I felt my heart reach out for him. Obviously this was a hard topic but he didn't want to show it.

"Um, she was in a coma," I trailed off. He turned to me, a dark look in his eyes.

"And?"

"That's all I know," I weakly replied turning away from him.

"She was in a coma for five years until her heart stopped working and she passed away."

I wasn't sure what he wanted me to do. My wolf on the other hand wanted me to comfort him but I couldn't bring myself to do it.

"Anyways if you didn't know about that, I'm guessing you don't know about the curse?" He said this nonchantly that I thought he was lying.

"What curse?" I ask taking a bold step forward.

"The reason why he acted that way," he says, "the reason why he repeatedly hurt his mate to the point where she passed because of him."

"Curse?" I softly echoed.

"Family curse from my fathers side," he retort.

Curse? I didn't believe in such things. I wasn't sure what to think of this new information. It was hard to believe for me.

"Are you sure? " I hesitantly asked."How do you know that you're... cursed?"

Instead of speaking up, he rolled up the bottom of his trousers. I watched him nervously. When he turned to me, I saw what was on the side of his right ankle.

A small pale circle surrounded three long pale lines that seemed as if they were cut into his skin and healed. I knew this had to be made by something strong because werewolves hardly get scars. In the middle of this though, another line- unlike the other ones that were at a forty-five degree angle- went straight across the other lines.

I sucked in a breath suddenly very nervous.

"Joseph, my father, had the same scar as did my grandfather and before him and so on," he muffled. "My grandfather had hurt his mate but she didn't pass. He died from hunters after Joseph turned sixteen."

"This curse was placed upon one of my ancestors for something he did. I don't really know the details but the curse works like a lightswitch. The moment we mate is the moment where it begins. The problem though is the timing. Joseph hadn't started hurting my mother until I was ten. My grandfather started right after he mated with my grandmother. If we mate, I don't know when I'll begin changing."

"The reason I'm telling you this is because I'd like to try this out but you need to know what could happen." His words had my head spinning around. I looked at him for a few moments before finally finding my voice.

"You want to try?" I asked my voice slightly shaking.

He nodded looking extremely uncomfortable. "If you want to anyways. I just came to a conclusion that you don't deserve the way I've been treating you and my mother wouldn't be too pleased of how I've been treating my mate lately."

A small smirk made its way onto my face but I kept quiet.

He murmured something that even my wolf ears couldn't catch. He noticed my raised eyebrow before turning away and sighing.

"We're done here," his husky voice spoke out.

He stood up and began walking towards the car. I took one last glance at his mothers burial before following after him.

"You said your grandmother didn't pass," I say. "Is she still alive then?"

Thaddeus merely glanced at me. "What I meant was she didn't pass like my mother. She is most likely dead now anyways."

"What if she's not?"

"I wouldn't care," he flatly replied.

I stepped in front of him stopping him from continuing on. "How could you say that? She's your grandmother!"

"No she's not. I don't remember her at all," he said stepping to the side to pass by me.

"Maybe she could help you with your curse if you sought her out."

"Drop it."

"Thaddeus she-"

"Annabel stop!" He demanded, eyes blazing. "There is nothing I can do about this."

I took a bold step and continued. "How do you know?"

He narrowed his eyes at me. A warning growl came out of him and this time he stepped towards me.

"Drop. It." My mouth dropped when I noticed the Alpha command behind his words.

Turning around, I headed towards the car planning the way I was going to ignore him now. I don't care now that he wanted to try the whole mate thing out. OK, maybe that was a lie. But this was not a good way to start.

I heard him sigh out before he gripped my wrist and spun me around. Me, being stupid, I flinched away from him. Again.

This has got to be the fifth time, I thought seeing the frustrated expression on Thaddeus.

"I'm-"

"I knew this wouldn't work," he said.

I pulled away from him, hurt by his words. "Didn't you just say you wanted to try the mate thing out?"

"I can't do that when you constantly move away from me as if I'd hurt you," he retort. I wasn't sure but I thought I detected a sad tone in his voice. "Admit it: you're afraid of me."

"I'm not afraid of you," I shakingly answered.

"Yes you are," he prodded towering over my small height.

"No I'm not!"

"Prove it!"

And that ladies and gentlemen, is why I- Annabel Hastings- wrapped my arms around my mates neck and kissed him.

-

-

I pushed myself away from him, cheeks a rosy red. I wasn't sure if it was because I had just kissed my mate or because he didn't kiss me back.

I meant to prove that I wasn't scared of him and without a thought, I lunged at him pressing my lips onto his.

I didn't want to look him in the eye in fear of seeing disgust in his dark orbs. Turning around hastily, I blinked away oncoming tears.

After a moment of awkward silence, I began walking towards the vehicle.

"Fuck," I heard Thaddeus mumble before yet again he turned me around just as I opened the door.

"Please-"

He cut me off by placing his lips over mine.

Sparks instantly erupted all over me. I couldn't think or process what was happening. I actually thought I saw fireworks. Everything just felt surreal.

I realized I was standing like a statue as my mate expressed what hopefully was desire. I stood on my tippy toes and wrapped my arms around his neck like how I had done previously. I don't know why but this felt natural to me.

It took me a while to keep up with Thaddeus' lips. He had a sort of hunger for mine which had me thinking he truly wanted me.

I hadn't realized this until I felt it behind me. Thaddeus had pinned me up against the side of the vehicle but before I could dwell on it, he somehow managed to press his lips even harder to mine.

His hands found my sides as I intertwined my hands into his hair. I hadn't thought of this now, but he had extremely soft locks.

His hands went from slightly hovering over my sides to clutching my waist as if I'd run away. I had not plan on running from him though.

His actions had emitted a moan from me. He pulled his lips from mine, growling. His eyes held lust which made me gasp. Without wasting any time, he went back for my mouth. One of his hands fisted a handful of hair while the other stayed wrapped around my waist.

I felt intoxicated with a hint of something else I didn't understand. Thaddeus was my drug, my addiction that made me satisfied. I was on a high and I never wanted this to stop.

Thaddeus moved his lips to the side of my mouth and then my jawline and finally where he placed them over the spot he planned on marking. These actions of his had me running my hands up and down his back and unfortunately he was stilled clothed.

My hands crept up the inside of his shirt as he groaned against my neck. The vibrations from that had me shaking before he repeatedly kissed the side of my neck.

I dug my fingers into his hard chest which must have been painful but all Thaddeus did was growl lowly as he continued to leave marks on the side of my neck.

I guess Thaddeus had the same idea I had about wanting the clothing off because in seconds, my top was off and his rough yet gentle hands explored the exposed area.

I moaned aloud and arched into him. I felt something hard pressing up against me and it took me a few seconds to understand what it was.

Somewhere deep down, I remembered we were basically going at it in a cemetary with my mates deep mother buried less than a few feet from us.

I think Thaddeus had the same thought because with what seemed to be a lot of strength, he ripped himself away from me. I closed my eyes trying to calm my breathing and when I did open them, Thaddeus was standing almost ten feet away from me. I knew instantly that he was doing it for our sake.

I noticed the look in Thaddeus' eyes. He wanted nothing but to continue what just happened. He was breathing hard- actually we were both doing so. Without consciously knowing I let my eyes wander towards his swollen lips.

"We need to stop," his deep voice came out husky which had me wanting to resume our previous actions.

But I agreed with him. We needed to stop unless I wanted to lose my virginity in a cemetery near his dead mother on a vehicle. "Um yeah."

His eyes flickered to my chest briefly and I instantly knew what he was hinting. With the blood rushing to my cheeks, I picked up my shirt that somehow managed to land on someones newly placed grave stone.

I cringed at that. I quickly put on my shirt and got into the vehicle where Thaddeus had already placed the keys into the ignition.

I refused to look in his direction at all afraid of acting on impulse. My hormones were everywhere and all I wanted, no needed, was him.

I could tell that he knew I was embarrassed because he kept glancing at me throughout the whole drive.

As we neared where we had gotten the vehicle, Thaddeus stiffened. That got my attention and immediately, I snapped my head to his. He abruptly stepped on the brake making me jerk forward while he hardly moved.

"Get down!" He suddenly exclaimed just as the front glass shattered. I didn't know what was happening but when I reopened my eyes- I don't remember closing them- Thaddeus was hovering over me.

The worry in his eyes made my heart ache. I should be worried. He was the one who shield me from all that glass. I couldn't imagine the pain he was probably in right now.

"Are you OK?" He asked.

I nodded."Are you?"

He sighed and pulled away from me. "I'm fine. "

He glanced outside and I followed his gaze. The guards on patrol immediately rushed towards us and some were running somewhere else. They seemed to be following a scent.

Just as patrol reached us, Thaddeus and I were already getting out. A sudden whimper of pain escaped from me making Thaddeus' attention snap to me.

I gripped his arm as I suddenly felt dizziness wash over me. My attention was on the large shard of glass in my thigh. How had I missed it?

Thaddeus got onto his knees and I knew what he was going to do. The guards around us where apologizing to Thaddeus and I about not being careful but we both blocked them out.

Thaddeus instructed me to sit down slowly. I did so and he sighed sending me an apologetic look.

"Just do it," I say through gritted teeth.

I hold onto him just as he grips the shard and rips it out. A cry escaped my mouth just as pack doctors came. He growled when they came near me and held me towards him refusing anyone from coming near.

"Thaddeus," I quietly say trying to get him to calm down. "They want to help."

I don't think he was even paying attention to me.

"Alpha," a brave doctor says, "we need to check both of your injuries."

I stared into his eyes and I could swear he was about to shift. "Thaddeus," I snapped taking hold of his face and making sure he was staring into my eyes. "Calm down."

He slowly seemed to calm down but then his eyes glazed over. His eyes refocused onto mine before he stood up.

"They found whoever did that," he stated looking at my wound.

I sighed and let the doctors surround me. I glanced back up at Thaddeus who seemed conflicted.

Go, I'm in good hands.

He sighed and asked me if I was sure just by the way his eyebrows went up. I rolled my eyes and nodded.

He stayed in his spot before reluctantly turning around and heading towards the others.

I sucked in a breath when I took a glance at his back. Thaddeus had saved me by taking the glass into his back. I felt immediately guilty as his bloodied back was out of view. The good thing was that one of the doctors were following him so I knew Thaddeus would be all cleaned up.

As I was staring after my mate, the doctor was trying to get my attention. I turned to her with a dumb expression on my face.

"Is there anywhere else that hurts?"

I shook my head and immediately stood up just for me to sit back down. I was forming a headache and getting up that quickly hurt me.

"Let me clean the blood Luna," she says. Surprisingly, she did so very quickly. "You should rest."

"No," I say struggling to get up. "I need to see-"

"The Alpha told us to make sure you stay here," someone says, "please stay down."

I growled but it affected no one. I had to wait an agonizing long time which might have honestly been more than five minutes before Thaddeus returned.

I felt myself burst into joy when I saw his handsome face. He immediately reached for me and without pausing he picked me up into his arms. I was blushing madly at the way everyone was looking at us but then diverting their attention when Thaddeus saw them watching.

I covered my burning face into my mates chest. I didn't want anyone watching me at all. I sighed pulling back and let my eyes wander over my mates facial features. Sensing my gaze, he looked at me curiously.

"How did the day go from you yelling at me and me wanting to avoid you, to this?"

His eyes narrowed before he sighed.

"I don't know."

-

-

"Who did you send to do the deed?" Asked Brayton.

"A nobody," replied Ethan.

"Was it done properly?"

"Both were slightly injured nothing serious," he retorts with a scowl.

"And what about the nobody you sent?"

"Might as well be dead," Ethan simply replied with.

Brayton nodded with a grin on his face. "Soon, child, that pack and its bastard of an Alpha will get what they deserve."

Ethan nodded feeling rage burst into his veins. "They will pay for hurting Blake and my father."

Brayton nodded not really paying attention to what the child was saying. He just wanted him out of the room.

"When do we leave?"

"When I say so," Brayton all but growled.

He dismissed Ethan with a wave of his hand. When he left, he leaned back in his chair with a grin as scary as the Cheshire cat.

"Soon. Very soon."

Happy Easter to those that celebrate! To those who don't happy sunday!
