Thaddeus left me at his house to speak with some people about the rogue. Apparently, it must've been huge because when he dropped me off, he left A.S.A.P.

Rose was giving me a headache at the moment. She kept asking me through the mind link if I was OK. She even went as far as to say she would ask Thaddeus to tell her the truth since she he was nearby.

I giggled because from her earlier reaction to him bursting into her room, I doubt she'd be able to make eye contact with him nonetheless ask him something.

I blocked her out and layed back on the couch. I couldn't believe Thaddeus and I... we kissed. How was that even possible?

A grin crept onto my face as realization finally dawned on me. Thaddeus wants me. He wants me as bad as I want him. Maybe even a bit more if that was even possible.

I glanced outside through the window nearby. I really wanted him back so we could resume our previous actions. Maybe even do a bit more, my wolf said.

I blushed thinking of that. What if that makeout we practically had was going to lead to... mating? My heart hammered away in my chest as my thoughts clouded my brain.

If this was going to happen tonight, I should get ready. And by ready I mean, shower, shave and put on the lingerie Ari had made me buy from Victoria Secret.

I suddenly snapped out of it. I doubt we were going to get it on. Thaddeus- obviously would want to- but I think his family curse would prevent him from mating with me until he was sure he wouldn't hurt me. My heart pummeled to my stomach at the thought of that.

This wasn't fair, I thought sadly. My mate finally expresses why he didn't want to get too close to me and I find out its because he's cursed. Great.

I try to think of all the signs that could have been there but I come up with none. Being cursed? That was totally unexpected.

I was so lost in my thoughts I hadn't realized the time had went by and that Thaddeus was close by. I shifted on the couch only to sense that he was at the front of the door. Not inside, just outside. He was speaking to the guards outside but I couldn't hear what it was they were speaking about.

When he came inside, I laid down and pretended to sleep. Thaddeus entered the room, where I could feel his gaze burning holes into the side of my head. Good thing I was sleeping with my hands over my face or he could see the twitch of my cheek. His penetrating eyes, even though I couldn't see them, had me wanting to fumble around.

When the uncomfortable stillness became too unbearable for me to handle, I pretended to turn around and let out a fake yawn.

I could feel Thaddeus moving around but it took me a mere few seconds to find out where he was. He was sitting directly in front of me now. I found it odd that he was watching me sleep but I didn't move a muscle... I thought.

"Why are you pretending to sleep?" I gave up on the act and sat up staring at my mate who was back to his blank facial expressions.

"How do you know I was pretending?" I asked a bit haughtily. "I could have been actually sleeping but you disrupted me."

His eyes darkened at my tone before he let it slide. He simply leaned back on the chair and watched the way I was acting.

Avoiding his gaze I suddenly whispered softly. "What did you find out from the rogue? Did he have information of Braytons whereabouts?"

Thaddeus took a deep breath before exhaling slowly. "We still don't know where he is, but we will find him."

The confidence in my mates tone had me sitting up straighter. He seemed on the verge of giving up but he managed to pull himself together. The way his eyes darkened when he said he didn't know where Brayton was, was enough to tell me that he wanted nothing more than to torture the guy so he could see what I felt. I -for some reason- really wanted Thaddeus to hurt Brayton, even if he was my past Alpha or not. He had done such cruelty in a short span of time, that I can't believe there was ever a time I called him Alpha. I can't believe there was ever a time where he led a pack. It was completely disgusting now that I think of it.

"Um so..." I trailed off remembering what I was planning on doing, "what now?"

I had asked that question so desperately that I cringed at my own obvious forwardness. Thaddeus immediately caught on but he did nothing but stare at me.

"You know we can't do this right now," he replied as if he was growling. "I need you to remember that I didn't just spill my life out for you to not understand anyting I was saying."

"I was paying attention its just..." again I trailed off.

Thaddeus sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose and spoke with a growl. "If you keep this up, I won't be able to control myself."

I immediately shut up. Even though I didn't want to, I knew I had to stop to prevent myself from making him break his self-control.

A sudden thought came to me. "I don't know anything about you."

He raised an eyebrow at me.

"You know, we're mates and we don't exactly know anything about each other," I awkwardly mumble.

Thaddeus sighed and got to his feet. "Next time."

"Thaddeus if we're giving this a go the least you could do is give me some answers," I state.

"I did!" He argued.

"Not those answers!" I suddenly shout. "I mean simple basic answers like what's your favorite animal, color, etcetra."

Now Thaddeus looked at me as if I had suddenly grown another head. I know those are horrible examples but that's usually how you start a conversation-with basic topics.

Thaddeus suddenly grew quiet.

"If it helps, I'll go first."

I chewed on my bottom lip before coming up with something. "Alright, my favourite color is purple. My favourite meal is chicken wings. I'm nineteen years old but soon turning twenty in a few weeks time. Um, I love wandering around-"

Thaddeus mumbled something under his breath making me freeze. "What was that?"

He raised an eyebrow but I swore I saw amusement in his dark eyes. It must have been from something I said. "Continue."

"As I was saying," I give him a curious glance, "I love exploring and my favourite animal is a wolf, obviously."

Thaddeus took these all in thinking them over. A small smile made its way onto my face and soon I was asking for Thaddeus to do the same thing I did.

"I like the color blue." I nodded, blushing softly at his intense gaze and motioned for him to go on but he simply shrugged. I blinked before rolling my eyes.

"That cannot be it Thaddeus," I said moving to sit criss-crossed on the couch. "Why is it so hard to just tell me these simple things?"

I waited for a moment just to hear him speak. He didn't. Disappointed, I got to my feet. I mumbled a goodnight and head towards the stairs.

"I like the color blue," Thaddeus' sudden voice repeated. I stopped on the spot. "I'm twenty-six years old. I enjoy running in wolf form and I don't exactly have hobbies considering the work I need to finish."

A smile stretched across my face. With a visible skip in my steps, I went up to my bedroom and fell asleep with a big smile on my face.

-

"Chocolate chip pancakes, cheeries and whip cream?" I state in shock. "Mary you are amazing."

Mary simply chuckled before motioning towards it all. "It's better when you actually eat it."

"Ha-ha," I teasingly reply. Mary has a twinkle in her eyes while watching me.

"Luna-"

"Anna," I quickly corrected.

"Anna," she starts, "forgive me for asking but when will you produce a child?"

I immediately choked at her words. My eyes bulged out and I immediately began taking sips from my cup of orange juice. I glance at Mary who was amused.

"What?" My voice came out squeaky.

"Well not to pressure you or anything but I'm getting old and I'd love see the Alphas pup or pups before I pass along." She said that so simply while I was still having a hard time digesting what she wanted. Pups? How?

I think I felt my wolf eyeroll at my question. You obviously-

I immediately cut her off. I know.

"Um, well... we'll try?" I awkwardly stated.

My face turned bright red while Mary laughed.

"I apologize dear," she retorts after chuckling for what felt like forever.

-

"You guys... kissed?!"

"Keep it down," I hissed glancing at the people who were watching Rose and I now.

Rose gripped my wrist and tugged me to her bedroom shutting the door with a loud slam. She didn't stop there though. She tugged me towards the bathroom and turned the tap on.

"The tap on isn't necessary," I stated.

Rose rolled her eyes before fixing her gaze on me."Don't change the topic," she retorted.

I shrugged and began awkwardly whistling. Rose, fed up, punched me.

"Ow," I groan holding onto my left boob. "OK, now that wasn't necessary."

Rose immediately gave me a sharp glare. I gave up trying to stall because it was my fault I told her in the first place.

"I want details now."

"We kissed," I blankly stated. Seeing Roses face turn red with anger, I quickly added on. "We talked for a while before something came up and I kissed him first. But then he didn't return the kiss so I left to head back to the car when he suddenly turned me around and kissed me."

"And what did it lead to?"

My face turned bright red. "Nothing."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes Rose, that was it!" I burst out. Rose only smirked directing her gaze towards my neck.

"I don't believe that because my eyes see a few lovebites," Rose says trailing off.

I immediately faced the mirror pushing my hair to the side revealing my neck. How could I forget about that? I groaned silently before covering the area with my long hair and leaving the bathroom.

I could hear Roses laughter even as I exit the room. She was having a blast out of this while I was completely mortified in a sense.

As I was descending the stairs a thought came to me making me slap myself. The marks were probably why Mary told me about pups. When she saw these, she obviously thought Thaddeus and I were getting it on.

When I went to leave through the backdoor, a small body instantly tackled me. Startled, I glanced down omly to see a famililar face I haven't seem for some time.

"Hi Anna," the young girl greeted.

I smiled down at Beth before picking her up and squeezing the daylights out of her. "Hi Beth," I replied cheerfully.

"You never come and see me anymore," she says. I could detect the sadness she was trying not to show.

Guilt hit me hard. I got eye level with her and pulled her in for another hug. "I'm sorry Beth. I've just been really busy these past few days. How about I make up for not spending enough time with you?"

"How?"

"Do you want to see where I sleep?" Beth nodded excitedly. I took her hand in mine and set off to the Alphas home.

"Is it pretty?" I nodded at her question.

"The house is almost like the pack house except there isn't that much people living there. It's only the Alpha and I."

At this, Beth stopped in her tracks. Her face went from excited to frightened in a few mere miliseconds.

"He won't be there right?" Her question came out hesitant.

I rubbed her shoulders soothingly. "He won't be there," I assured her.

She mumbled an OK as we continued our walk. I broke the silence a few moments later since it was almost impossible for me to be quiet.

"How's Savannah?"

"She's better," she retorted with a smile. "I mean at first she never liked leaving my side but there's this lady that Savannah likes. I like her too. She's really nice to us."

"That's great."

I greeted the guards outside the house before entering. Beth gasped the moment she stepped inside. Her small hands covered her mouth in shock as her eyes widened.

"This is really pretty," she said after a moment of silence. "Where's your room?"

"This way," I state waving for her to follow me.

We head upstairs where Beth asks me another question. "How many floors are here?"

"Theres actually another floor upstairs," I reply. "I don't bother going upstairs though."

I enter my bedroom followed by Beth who immediately jumps on my bed. I chuckled at her antics as she continued to jump. Finally, as she settled down, I nestled next to her.

"I'm guessing you like?"

"Yes, its so big. I like the color too. "

Afterwards, we both spoke about random topics. We laughed a lot and I could tell she was having fun. Eventually, we both got hungry and made our way downstairs.

I pulled out some frozen pizza and instantly heated it up. By the time it was done being heated I pulled it out from the oven and let it cool off.

"Hey," I speak up suddenly. "How old are you again?"

"Eight," Beth replies. "Why?"

"I thought you were of age to get your wolf. You usually shift around the age of twelve."

Beth and I then descended into silence. It wasn't long though because the front door opened making Beth tense up. When footsteps came into our direction, she moved closer to me.

"He won't hurt you," I murmur into her ear. That doesn't seem to help her at all. In fact, her heart beats faster.

Thaddeus, can you stay by the door please?

His response came short and simple as he stepped into the room. "Why?"

Beth keeps her gaze on the ground. Thaddeus on the other hand, pauses at the entrance and leans against the wall. His eyes stay on Beth before diverting to mine. The question he holds in his dark eyes is bright as day. Instead of answering though, I nod towards the front door. Thaddeus stays where he is before begrudgingly leaving.

When he is gone, Beth lets out a relieved sigh. "He wouldn't do anything to you or anyone in the pack Beth." I tuck a strand of hair behind her ear.

"I want to go back to the pack house," she says not looking at me.

Sighing I nod and take her back.

-

-

"Did you need me before?" I ask Thaddeus after dropping Beth off. My mate and I are just walking to wherever now.

"Are you feeling better?" He asks in a quiet tone.

Though his question did slightly surprise me I answer anyways. "Yes, thank you by the way."

I'm sure he knows what I'm referring to because he just nods once.

"I know I don't really know you that well but I can tell when someone is hiding something," I muttered waiting for a reaction.

Thaddeus being himself, stays emotionless. Sighing, I wait for a while until I press myself against him soon getting a reaction.

He growls lowly but I know he just doesn't like what I'm doing.

"I went to get you," he speaks up moving away from me, "because I need to speak about something."

"And?"

"Sooner or later Brayton is going to try and do something stupid like attack this pack. He probably already knows what to do in order for this pack to surrender."

"And what is it exactly?"

Taking a deep breath, he exhaled slowly. "He might try and get to you. He tried it already and probably knows how the pack reacted from the first time."

I felt sick to the stomach all of a sudden. All of this, just to get his pack back. There must be something else here. I mean it probably could just be his Alpha pride getting in the way but my gut tells me there's something I'm missing. I'll have to find out later.

Glancing at Thaddeus, I notice his hands are clenched into fists. Hesitantly, I grab his closest fist making him tense up. Gently, I massage his still clenched fist before he begins to relax. Just when he isn't tense anymore, I shock him and myself by pressing my lips to his rough knuckles. He tenses up again but only for a few seconds.

"You need to be careful for the next few weeks until I know for sure you won't be in danger," he says suddenly interlacing our fingers together. "I'm assigning a few guards to stay close by. They'll be watching in case something happens again."

My heart flutters at his action. I don't think he knows the affect he has on me from this. I turn away blushing before I feel his fingers tightening on mine.

"Be careful," he murmured.

"I will," I replied softly, glancing at our clasped hands.

"I spoke with Jay by the way," he says suddenly changing the topic. "We think- we know, that there is someone in this pack we cannot trust."

I glance at him confused. "What do you mean?"

"There is someone working with Brayton here," he says coolly, making me shiver.

"Thaddeus, you're the most feared Alpha in this country. No one would dare to try and go up against you unless they're Brayton or just plain stupid," I stated annoyed with the thought of someone that was suppose to be loyal to the pack go and make plans with someone else to kill our Alpha. It was unbelievable. "Are you even sure about this?"

Thaddeus growled lowly. "Who else knew that I was letting the pack go into the city and town? Who else knew that I was coming to get you? Who else placed that body so far into the pack?"

"So then we have a two-faced guy or girl on our hands. Great," I say sarcasm dripping on my last word. "Do you have anyone in mind right now?"

He shakes his head before he suddenly tugs me into his hard chest. He wraps one arm around my waist while our fingers stay together. We stay like this for a while, inhaling each others scent before I feel Thaddeus' arm become loose. I pull away without another word but keep our hands interlocked.

Afterwards, we walk around in silence, lost in our own thoughts and worries but somehow finding comfort in each others presence.
