My morning was the same as yesterdays. I woke up, though I cried myself to sleep last night, and did my morning routine. Once I was downstairs, Ari made the same breakfast from yesterday except with chocolate chip pancakes.

Let's just say it was delicious.

But this time Ari sat across from me with curious eyes. I knew she was wondering what had happened last night and why my eyes were painfully swollen. After a while though, I got tired of her watching me.

"You can ask you know," I stated noticing the way her cheeks turned red.

"I'm sorry I don't mean to pry," she began, "it's none of my business."

Shaking my head, I snatched some bacon shoving it into my mouth. I gave her a look to spill, which she did.

"How did it go?" She was hesitant as if she already knew how it went but was asking so I could prove her wrong.

"He was not hungry."

She nodded taking in my answer before giving me a sympathetic glance. I did not like it one bit. I spoke up wanting to change the subject.

"Remember, the Run?" I asked her making her nod. "You were about to say something to me but we were interrupted."

She needed along with my words before realization dawned on her. "Oh, I was going to say that the Alpha is a hard tough very closed up person. I kind of knew of how he'd treat his mate."

I shrugged sadly. I had so much questions I wanted to ask, but I had no idea how to. I guess she saw how uneasy I was which is why she changed the subject.

"Where is the left over food?" I pointed towards the fridge in the kitchen. Ari immediately dashed for it and quickly opened the fridge and reaching inside. From where I was sitting I could see the whole thing. She came back, confused.

"I thought you were going to save me some?" Looking up confused, she showed me the empty pan. I stopped eating immediately.

I didn't eat it.

"I-" I was at a loss of words so I just shrugged helplessly.

"Is that your way of telling me you ate it all?" Ari questioned raising an eyebrow up.

I shook my head staring at the pan in wonder.

"I'll make this again next time," I stated nibbling on my fruit. Ari sighed.

"Alright," she says snatching a strawberry off my plate. "I have to go now, but I'll see you later."

I nodded and waited for her footsteps to disappear. Once the door was closed behind her, I jumped from my seat to inspect the pan.

It was totally empty. Not a piece or scrap left.

Was it possible that he ate it? I stood in the middle of the dining room in wonder. Breaking away from my thoughts, I threw away my breakfast, not feeling hungry anymore.

Cleaning the table, I made my way to the pack house. I was planning on seeing the others today and try to forget about everything with my mate. I was just tired of it.

Not many people were near the Alphas home, which really sucked. I really needed some company.

I continued walking with a skip towards the direction of the pack house. Don't ask me why I was suddenly in a good mood. But I think it had to do with finally getting to see my parents, Mason, Beth and Savannah.

A few moments into the walk, I then realised I had taken the wrong path and I was heading into another direction. I continued on walking though curious of where I'd end up.

A few moments later I was approaching a very wide low building. It wasn't as big as the pack house or even the alphas home. There had to be at at least two floors inside.

I hesitated at the front wondering if I should go in or not. Taking a deep breath, I opened the door curious of what was in here.

I peeked noticing how some people were bustling about trying to go where ever. Of course everyone was busy so they didn't notice me walk in.

I don't know why I was so curious but I forced my legs to take me farther than this.

Walking through the busy crowd, I hesitantly walked down the long hallway. There were three doors on my left side and two on the other. The hallway ended and I was left staring at the door in front of me.

For some unknown reason I felt like I was being pulled into the room. Like I was suppose to be here.

I pushed the door open only to be stared down at by almost twenty pair of eyes. The pair of eyes I tried to ignore was staring me down on the spot. He was probably wondering what I was doing here interrupting what seems to be a meeting as everyone was standing around a table.

I opened my mouth to say something but at the last second I shut the door. I instantly turned around, my face heating up from the embarrassment. So that's why I wanted to go into that room; Because my mate was there.

Before I could register what was happening, the door opened making me jump. I turned around expecting my mate but instead was greeted by Jay.

"Oh hi?" I'm guessing he knew I wasn't expecting him.

"The Alpha told me to go see what you needed," Jay replied.

I tried not to show my disappointment but I guess I wasn't much of a good actor.

"He is really busy right now," Jay continued as if that was important.

I nodded with a grim plastered onto my face. "I was just curious what this place was, sorry to disturb."

"Are you sure that is it?" He didn't look like he believed me. He seemed to think there was more to this.

"See you later," I said before dashing out the place. I pushed past a few people who in return glared at me.

Mumbling a few apologies, I finally made it outside. Not wanting to waste anytime, I made a break for it towards what I think was the pack house again.

Too bad I didn't get far.

A hand clamped down on my arm. Instantly knowing who it was, I refused to turn around. But of course my mate had other plans. He spun me around almost ripping my arm out of its socket.

"What was that for?" I snapped suddenly fed up with him. He doesn't want me and then he acts like he does. Why couldn't I get a better mate? Why would fate put us together?

He threw me a cold icy glare making me remember that he was still my Alpha and I did say I'd be loyal to him. "You will not speak to me with such disrespect," he said menacing taking a step forward.

Unknowingly, my jaw fell open as I took a step back. "Well I'm sorry, my arm was about to be ripped out of its socket."

He kept his narrowed cold eyes on me and surprisingly took a step back. "What did you need?"

I shrugged before answering. "I was just wandering about until I saw this and was just curious."

His dark eyes made me squirm a few times. He watched every one of my movements before leaning back onto a tree with his arms crossed over his chest. His muscles suddenly became so much more prominent through the long sleeve he was wearing. I had to keep the lustful thoughts away.

He continued to observe me. It made it slightly worse for me because we were all alone and my wolf was placing images in my head. I forced myself to say something but he beat me to it.

"Some of my guards told me they saw you and another female near the borders yesterday," his face was expressionless which made me wonder what he was thinking, "you can not be near the borders. It is dangerous."

Without meaning to, I scowled. "So what it's not like you care about me," I said bitterly.

I met his cold eyes before turning away and running towards the pack house. I didn't turn back to see if he was still leaning against the tree, because I could feel his eyes boring into me as I ran.

When I finally arrived at the pack house everyone was having lunch. A very large table stretched across the room and it had almost fifty chairs or even more. I noticed how these were adults and elderly. The teens and children were nowhere in sight.

The good thing about this though, was that I spotted my parents who were gathered around speaking to Masons parents and a few other adults. I immediately made a bee line towards them. Before I could wrap my arms around them though, my dad spun around.

"You can't sneak up on me Anna," he says as a smile takes over his features. My mom spun around at the sound of my name and immediately tackled me into a bear hug.

"Mom," I groaned as the adult watched on, "you're killing me."

"Well I'm sorry I can't hug my daughter after not seeing her for so long," she jokes pinching my cheek as if I was a little pup.

"Hey," I looked back at my dad, "don't leave me out now."

He wrapped his arms around my mom and I. A smile made its way onto my cheek as I felt so thankful to have my parents alive, here with me. It felt like forever since I've last seen them.

The moment was immediately interrupted when I realised my mom was inhaling my scent.

"They haven't done anything and its been almost a day and a half," my dad speaks up lifting my hair up to show my mom my neck.

I scrambled back realizing what they were hinting at. "Please that is private," I retorted placing my palms up.

"Right after I met your mother we-"

"Where's Mason?" I said cutting him off. I did not need to know what they did.

Chuckles erupted from behind my parents. The other adults were finding this whole thing interesting while I found it mortifying. Especially because we were having this talk in front of other people.

"He is with the other kids your age in the back yard." I gave Masons parents a quick hug before going to the back yard.

It took me a few moments to find where Mason was, seeing as there were a lot teens and even some pups.

I noticed how the back yard was very huge. In fact I think this is where Alpha Thaddeus might do pack meetings seeing as this might be able to fit everyone.

Glancing around, I saw a few guys throwing around a football. Taking a deep breath I stepped towards the guys and unsurprisingly found Mason. He always had a thing for football.

He was playing with a few guys but they took a sudden water break. I took that as my cue to go. Staying a good distance from him, I broke into a run and jumped onto his back finally catching him by surprise.

He stumbled but caught himself as I climbed off. He turned around and once his eyes landed on me, they widened in shock. He dropped his water bottle and wrapped his arms around me crushing me to his chest.

"Anna!" The sudden shout got the boys attention as they eyed me and Mason.

"You're actually here," he commented as he put me back down. "It feels like I haven't seen you in ages."

I grinned at this and was about to say something, if one of the guys hadn't interrupted.

"Damn Mason stealing all the cute ones? At least share one of the girls."

Mason smirked before flipping whoever said that off. "I can't help it. I'm just so selfish."

The guy Mason was facing was built and tall. Not Thaddeus's height though. More like Masons. His very bright blonde hair made his green eyes more prominent. He was kind of good looking actually.

"You're drooling there," I wiped around my mouth only for the guys to start laughing. Mason bit his lip to hold it in when he saw my glare. He then gave me a cheeky grin.

"So…" he slung an arm over my shoulder steering me away from the guys. "Anything interesting you wanna share?"

His hand immediately went to one side of my hair and lifted up the strands. I sighed as he took his time observing my neck.

"Well that's interesting," he mumbled making that face he always made when he was thinking hard.

"How is my neck so interesting?" I blurted out.

"Most mates finish the mating ceremony in the first few hours they've met each other," he replies arching an eyebrow up. "Which leads me to ask, why haven't you guys done anything yet?"

"We aren't very close right now," I mumbled.

"He is a very closed up person, I'm guessing, right?" I nodded and leaned into him. He rubbed my back softly.

"I want a mate like you," I said through his shirt. "A mate that cares for his female and comforts her and makes her happy. Not the opposite where she locks herself in her room and cries herself to sleep."

He didn't say anything in return. Instead something began tugging at my sweats. I glanced down and a smile burst onto my face as I saw who was doing the tugging.

"Hi," Beth cheerfully chirps. Mason lets go of me but the exchange. "Where did you go?"

"I have to stay somewhere else." I noticed the way Masons eyes narrowed and the way he clenched his fists.

"I missed you," I awed at her before wrapping her in my arms.

"I missed you too," I replied. "And your sister."

Looking around for the usual bundle of joy, I couldn't find Savannah anywhere.

"One of the care takers are feeding her and the other pups."

"So how are you? Made any new friends lately?" She looked up at and nodded with a smile stretching across her face. Without a word, she pointed towards a group of girls that were clustered together talking and giggling while occasionally waving at Mason.

I looked at him to see his reaction but he didn't seem to acknowledge that. In fact he was frowning at me.

"You have to live at his house?" He asked incredulously. I shyly shrugged before turning back to Beth.

"I have to speak to Mason about something right now okay?"

"Okay." I watched her hurry back towards the group of girls but Mason brought my attention back to him.

"You have too?" He still sounded shocked. I shrugged before taking his hand in mine and pulling him down so we could sit on the grass.

"I haven't really checked-"

"Did he ask you to stay with him?"

I shook my head. "Ken, the third in command, told me that the Alpha had requested I stay at his house. Nothing else."

"Hey Mason," one of the guys called out. "We're starting."

"I'll be right there," he replied. He stood up dusting his shorts and then pulled me up too.

"We'll talk about this another time, alright?" Mason looked like he was going to object which he might have done, if I didn't interrupt him.

"I know you want to be with the guys right now so go play football," I urged trying to push him towards the boys.

"Will you be alright staying here?" I quickly nodded.

"It's not like I'm going anywhere." He exhaled in relief before patting my head and then jogging towards the guys who've already started the game.

I sat down and watched the way they moved. They could be professional football players if they wanted to. But that wouldn't be fair to the humans. After a while they took another break where Mason and a few others sat beside me.

"You want me to introduce you guys?" We all rolled our eyes at Masons question before I spoke up.

"I'm Annabel but you can call me Anna."

"Well Anna," said the blonde green eyed guy. "Did you find your mate? Because I think I found mine."

His friends, excluding Mason, began chuckling. I found nothing funny about it.

"I did find my mate actually," I said after the stopped giggling. The blonde glanced up at me with a curious look before smirking.

"I knew we were made for each other when I laid my eyes on you," In return for the wink he sent me after saying that, I gave him a flat almost bored like stare.

"Her mate is our Alpha," Mason spoke up before I could do anything about it. "Show some respect that's our future Luna."

At this new information, the boys all gave me a once over and then looked back at Mason. They burst into wild laughter while I kept my glare on them. Was it that hard to believe?

"Tha- that is the b-best joke e-e-ever," said another guy as he tried to control his laughter.

Mason and I both watched with unamused expressions. By the time they were done, they looked back at us.

The blonde spoke up. "You're serious?" he asked eyes wide.

I slowly nodded and watched as he scratched the back of his neck. The other boys glanced at each other, nervously.

"I think it is almost time for our training session," the blonde spoke up. "Catch you later Anna."

They left leaving me dumbfounded. Mason bit his bottom lip almost as if he expected that to happen. "What was that for?"

Mason shrugged before getting onto his feet. "I'm suppose to head to the training session too," he says stretching his arms. "The Beta would kill me if I'm late."

"What training session?" I ask confused. "And what was that all about?" I added gesturing to where the boys disappeared off to.

"The pack kids between ages ten to twenty are required to go train with the Beta everyday for two hours."

Why wasn't I informed of this? Seeing the look of confusion on my face, he quickly added on.

"It isn't any fun anyways," he says. "And it is only for the males."

I nodded trying to hide the way my shoulder sagged down. "You should go before you're late."

Mason sighed before glancing at his shoes. Something he did when he was uncomfortable. "I'll see you later." He walked away after giving me a quick side hug.

Walking back inside, I nudged my mom on the shoulder. She looked up startled. "Do you know where Rose is?"

"They all went to the training grounds," she replied as if it was obvious, before helping someone who dropped some utensils in the kitchen.

"There are separate trainings?" At the look of confusion on her face, I felt my heart drop.

"The Beta trains the kids," she said. "Females and males."

I stepped out the kitchen breaking into a run.

And it is only for the males.

Why did you lie to me, Mason?

Hurrying past people, I stopped when two young girls conversation caught my interest. I interrupted them quickly.

"Are you two going to the training grounds?" They both nodded before one spoke up.

"Why do you ask?"

"Can you show me where it is?" Both nodding again, I followed them. It turns out it wasn't that far from the pack house.

When we arrived everyone was around Jay, forming a semi circle. And by everyone I mean Mason, his friends, Rose, Ari and many others. As we stepped forward all heads turned to us.

I ignored the looks from Rose and Ari, keeping my gaze on Mason who was glancing at anything besides me. Jay walked towards me scratching the back of his neck. Why are guys constantly doing that?

"Luna-"

"Anna," I corrected. He coughed again and this was when I finally glanced at Rose and Ari. Rose began squirming under my gaze while Ari picked at her fingers.

I'm sorry An-

I blocked Rose out and diverted my attention back to Jay. "You are not to be here," he stated bluntly.

Without asking for a reason I turned on my heels and left feeling the gaze of many people on me.

I knew exactly why I wasn't wanted there.
