I just had the most amazing sleep ever. I almost smile at how refreshed I feel currently. I begin to stretch my arms and legs, making weird noises of contentment.

Huh. I pause as I hit something solid during my stretching. Opening my eyes, I glance to my right.

"Boo." Jacob smirks as he lies next to me on top of my bed cover.

"WHAT THE HELL?" I freak out due to the unexpectedness of his presence. Oh, and I tumble out of the bed unattractively. The damn sheets get tangled with my body so I end up dangling from the bed.

Great. I flush in embarrassment as I realize I only have a shirt and underwear on. He most likely sees what undies I have on. How embarrassing, I chose the wrong day to wear boring granny panties.

"Don't look." I try in a hurry to get out of my predicament, which succeeds but I fall straight on my head.

"Don't you dare comment." I huff as I stand up and glare at him.

"Wasn't going to say anything," he shrugs, still laying on the bed casually. The twinkle in his eyes suggests he has biting back laughter.

"What are you doing in my room?" I sigh in annoyance. It's more toward me since I figured I would have sensed his presence, but I guess I was very tired.

"Well, I wanted to see how the princess was doing. Also, you just looked so innocent I couldn't not scare you."He winks.

"I look terrible." I shake my hair and run through the tangles. "Now if you may, please leave me in peace as I get ready." I point to outside.

"I won't look. Your bed is quite comfortable." He rolls on his back and sighs comfortably.

"Yes, I know it is." I grumble. "Get out."

"Ah, so grumpy." He smiles.

I choose to ignore him and grab my clothes before heading into the bathroom.

It doesn't take too long, about ten minutes, to change and do my other necessary morning routines. I'm a night showerer so I just wash my face and do my hair. I do not wear makeup everyday, but today I gloss my lips and use eyeliner on my eyes to make them pop.

"Oh..." I trail off as I come out of my bathroom and notice Jacob on my bed. "You're still here."

"Kicking me out?" He looks at me.

"Yep."

"Ouch. Always so cold." He sits up and throws a pillow at me. I duck out of the way as it goes soaring through my opened bedroom door.

"Are you ready and all dressed?" He asks suddenly.

"Yes, why?"

"Great!" He beams as he jumps off my bed and scoops me into his arms. My first instinct is to get the hell out of the position, but he squeezes me tightly before throwing me over his shoulder.

"What the hell are you doing?" I kick my legs a bit before he stops me.

"Our date." He replies.

"Now?" I pause. "I'm not even dressed well enough to go out."

"You look fine to me." He compliments me, but what does he know?

"Well, I'm going to have to take back what I said yesterday. Right now is not a great time to go on a freaking date. We must go find Alfredo and end this all." I argue. "There's no time for romance or whatever we are calling this. We have to focus, or we will be dead."

"They can handle the situation without us." He rolls his eyes. "You worry and think way too much. Just live a little. And it's true, we might actually be killed today or even tomorrow, so why not take a break and enjoy the moment? You said so yourself: you've never been on a date! You don't want to die without experiencing life!"

I have to admit he makes a valid point. "Still, where are we going and how long will we be out?"

"Have some spontaneity!" He sighs dramatically.

"In these times, I would prefer not to in case we get murdered." I shoot back.

We stop. I got distracted so I did not notice we were in the garage.

"Don't you dare touch that." I warn Jacob as he lowers me down and creeps towards Dante's prized motorcycle. At my words, he edges towards Leo's Lamborghini Aventador. "Oh, you don't even want to breathe on that being." I warn him once again.

"These are all their prized possessions. If you want a transportation, look on the other end of the garage." I point to the opposite side. The garage has at least ten fancy/sports cars and six motorcycles. Wait, six not five?

I eagerly race over to the sixth motorcycle in surprise. "Dude." I touch the bike giddily. It's a brand new Kawasaki Ninja 1000, which isn't as awesome as my old bike, but it's still a beauty. I climb on and smile as it hums to life. The engine sound will take a while to get used to.

"Ahem," Jacob waves his hand. Whoops, forgot he was here.

"Well, we can use this for transportation." I grin. "But I drive."

"But you don't even know where to go." He frowns unhappily as he climbs behind me.

"Oh, I have a place in mind." I say. "Have you ever been to a planetarium or aquarium?"

"Honestly? I've never been to either." He chuckles a bit shyly.

"You've never been!" I look at him sharply. "No freaking way."

"I've just never had anyone to go with..." he trails off. I can see his eyes begin to close off.

"Well, first time for everything. It'll be fun!" I grin.

Since I'm the one who knows where the place is, I'm the driver, which works out great because I plan on making tons of detours.

I've pretty planned out everything. First, we will visit the Adler Planetarium to see the Galaxy Wall. Then, we can go to Skydeck Chicago, aka the tallest building in the Western hemisphere. It's going to look beautiful at night but I want him to experience Navy Pier. There is a ferris wheel to look at the city lights too. Plus, it has lots of attractions and food. I'm excited just thinking about it.

*****

"Welcome to the Navy Pier." I bow deeply and professionally.

"What are you doing?" Jacob backs up and actually pretends to look as me as if I'm a stranger.

"Oh, shut it." I punch his biceps.

"Cotton candy!" Jacob perks up suddenly as a man in a red and white striped uniform passes by the entrance. He actually chases after the man.

"Wow." I say though the pink cotton candy are ginormous and soft looking. They just call out to me so much.

And five seconds later we stand together with a huge cotton candy in each of our grasps.

"Oh my god," I gasp as I spot a huge ass minion hanging from edge of a game booth. It's as big as me. I MUST HAVE IT!

There's ten people either playing or watching the game. The game is that a person must aim at the targets across the booth with a BB gun. It's like a tic tac toe upright box but each square has something similar to a cardboard square to shoot. The squares are tiny. To win, he just has to make a diagonal, horizontal line, or vertical line.

It should be easy, but judging by the few observers and players, it is not.

It's probably rigged.

"Dude. That yellow thing is huge." Jacob notices the minion.

"The minion?" I clarify.

"That's what the thing is?" Jacob glances at the minion once more.

"Yes, from the movie Despicable Me. Don't tell me you haven't seen that movie either..." I almost drop my cotton candy in shock.

"Fine, I won't tell you." He takes a huge chunk out of the cotton candy and puts it into his mouth. Walking toward the game booth, he puts down his money on the counter.

Taking the gun, he checks it and tests the weight before lifting it up to position. In a rapid succession of gunfire, the pellets fly out quickly.

....and he fails to make any targets.

"What." He looks perturbed as he checks the gun once more. "This is rigged."

And he does something completely unexpected. He takes out his Glock and raises his arm. I stop him halfway before he shoots.

Glancing around, I sigh in relief as nobody but the game booth employee notices. His eyes widen as he reaches for a walkie-talkie behind his waist.

Picking up another BB gun, I feel the uneven weight and try to adjust to it. I can see why Jacob was off aim. Plus, I don't think he has much experience with BB guns.

I shoot all nine squares and the two other boxes next to it easily after a couple seconds of concentration.

"I'll have that minion please." I point to the one right in the center. The employee shakes as he almost chucks it at me.

"We gotta book." Jacob tugs my sleeve as we see two security guards coming from the right and two police officers from the left. We turn around and run in that direction, which so happens to lead to the ferris wheel.

"You! Stop now!" One of them orders as soon as we sprint.

Fast footfalls are heard as they all chase after us.

"C'mon!" I tell Jacob as we push our way through the ferris wheel line and leap right into an opened ferris wheel kart. We cut our way through right before a couple goes in.

"Sorry." I apologize as the door shuts and the kart starts moving. The couple outside look upset and angry from the window outside. Then, the security and police officers stand next to the couple all panting and pink, though by then we have already moved a few carts over.

"What the hell were you thinking?" I slap Jacob's arm.

"Living!" He laughs joyously.

"What type of an answer is that?" His laughter is infectious to the point I cannot stay mad at him.

"it's exactly as it sounds like." He says as he leans back into the seat.

"WHOA!" I wobble and fall towards his side as the entire carriage tilts toward him. Of course, I fall right on top of him.

We lock eyes as we realize how close we are. My hands pause on his chest as his face grows serious. I can feel his heart racing under my hand.

Are we going to kiss? I cannot help but think as my eyes dart to his lips and back to his dark eyes.

As our lips almost touch, the carriage jolts a bit as it starts moving once more. The minion hits me and then a shatter of glass totally interrupts the moment. We immediately crouch to the ground and scan carefully for the shooter.

I assume he's a sniper so I look far and make my scope large. Honestly, from this vantage point, it could be anyone. All the people look miniature, though we are coming down the circle.

"Found the bullet."Jacob says as he holds up the minion. He digs through the hole in the minion's back and brings his palm with the bullet up.

I examine the bullet and then the entry point. By the angle of the shot, it should have hit me. Yet, the jolt in the carriage must have made it miss as the minion flew in the air.

That was a close call. My skin breaks out in chills at whoever is out there still watching us.

"This is our last circle." Jacob finally says.

"Let's split as soon as the carriage's door swings open. I'll go right, and you can go left." I say. "We can use the minion as a distraction by throwing it out first."

"Sounds good." He agrees to the plan. "Where should we meet up?"

"The haunted house?" I can't think of anything else. Plus, the Haunted House was the first thing that came into my vision.

"Really..." he gulps. "There are clowns in there. I don't fear them, but they can be quite creepy..."

"House of mirrors then?" He suggests.

"Okay." It's right in the center of the pier. I glance at the audience below. It looks full of civilians except for the policemen crowded next to the employee who monitors and controls the ferris wheel.

I don't see anyone suspicious. Then again, who knows?

We reach the bottom. To the outside, it appears as if only the minion is left since Jacob and I crouch underneath the windows. The doors swing open and we throw the minions out as we split.

"Get them!" The policemen shout and make a ruckus.

I run as fast as I can and try to lose them. I don't really pay attention to where I am going as I shove my way through the crowd. My small size makes it easier to squeeze through, but I have already lost my sense of direction. I leap over some crates and hop a random fence. The fence leads to some trailer park. I assume it's the cast trailer park for the traveling circus I saw performing at the pier.

Yikes. I freeze as I realize I am on unfamiliar territory. I wish at this moment I brought some weapon. Stupid me. I have a pocket knife, which won't be much of a help.

I have never been in this area. "There she is!" I look over my shoulder at the voice. Nobody is there. Then, I look past the trailer to my right and see a stranger without a uniform. He's wearing regular street clothes. He is not a police officer.

I don't wait to find out who he is and if he is friend or foe. Instead, I turn heel and run in a different direction. I run straight into another dude. Again, i do not recognize him.

He grabs my forearm as I try to get past him.

I don't wait for a nice explanation to why he grabs me. No, my leg is already swinging towards his head. Yet, he blocks my kick easily with his other arm. I kick him in the jewels.

That does the trick.

I run away from whoever that guy is only to have more company. It must be the guy's friends. Two of them run towards me. I get into a defensive position, watching them carefully.

The two of them look trained. Unlike them, I am actually not in great shape to fight. My knuckles are still bruised, my body still battered. Running away from the policemen has already taken its toll. Yesterday's fight did too.

The two of them both attack suddenly. One looks experienced in boxing, while the other appears to be some type of experienced street fighter.

I duck as one of them aims a punch at my head, but as soon as I duck, the other kicks me in the stomach. My breath is forced out painfully as I am knocked back into a brick wall. Damn, they aren't going easy on me.

The boxer takes the opportunity to aim some clean hits at my abdomen. I grimace before dodging to the side and landing a clean punch to one of the boxer's critical points. He gets thrown off balance and I try to land another hit to knock him unconscious but the other guy punches me right in my cheek. There's a brief flash of black before I reorientate myself.

I throw a basket at the boxer, who catches it out of instinct before throwing it away. In that moment, I move closely and punch him as his eyes move to the basket. Then, I do a spinning kick and knock him out. I look at the second guy, who takes out a knife. Great. Fighting dirty.

I can fight dirty too.

I run behind a trailer and look for some sort of weapon. I spot a board with a bunch of knives sticking out it. Perfect, a knife thrower.

I use all my strength to pull the knives out and wait for the guy to come out. Poor unsuspecting guy.

As soon as he steps out, I throw a knife straight at his shoulder. I know it settles in quite deeply from his scream of pain.

Looking around, I notice nobody has popped up. Well, these guys weren't as hard as I thought.

With that, I walk towards Jacob and I's meeting place.

A/N

I totally skipped over the Planetarium and skydeck thing. Just imagine that it was awesome and beautiful. I didn't really want to bore you guys...

I honestly had a lot of difficult writing the chapter. A lot of writer's block, so it's choppy and not the greatest quality. There's also been some very frustrating things that has happened recently. It really has opened my eyes to when a friendship becomes poisonous weighs you down. Unhealthy friendships are not worth it. It's terrible to say, but honestly, don't force yourself.

This is also why I updated so late.

Thanks for bearing with me.
