Hello everyone,
As many of you already know, I've decided to work on publishing my Unexpected Series.
It's going to be hard work to make sure that I'm putting out my best work for all of you that have started with me from the beginning of this journey.
I'm fairly certain there will be many panic attacks along the way, but I'm determined to get my work out into the world so that many of you can hold in your very hands a copy of the first AND second book in the Unexpected Series.
Right now, it's still in the earlier stages, however, please sign up for my newsletters on my website: roxannseason.com
While I'm in the process, I do have to remove a percentage of the story so that I can publish it. I've decided to take out the last 20-30% of the story.
By subscribing to my newsletters, you'll get emails from me when I have secret news (such as when I'll publish Unconditional, Unbroken, His Forgotten Mate, Loving Ashlynn and Shattered) I only share with my treasured and enthusiastic readers.
Also be the first to know when:The Unexpected Series (Book 1) is going to be released and where you can pre-order/order your copy.

QUESTIONS/ANSWERS:
Can we smack Amelia? (most asked). No... but she needs that mom I saw on T.v. that was smacking her son in Baltimore... like that mom don't play...
THIS IS SUPER LONG BUT I HAD TO SAY THIS COMMENT WAS SO ENTERTAINING TO READ!!! Obviously if you meet a drunk man in a bar its not going to all be a fairy tale an you guys fall in love an livr happily ever after, everyone has a part to play in how everything is now, oakley sheade herself forget an then she found the tape an that was around the time pat brought sarah an amelia around an she saw how her treated an she retreated into herself, pat after norine disappeared or died (not to sure even though jay felt the bond disappear) he didn't even look for to find an explaination to why she left or if something else happened an he also retreated into himself, sarah basically railroaded him because she only let him know about amelia when she was in a tight squeeze to take care of herself an her child an then pat felt all guilty an they just crossed the finish line of the race before it even started an norine's things were thrown out an sarah an amelia were moved in without pat even finding out for ben an oak how they would feel about them moving in, then pat treated amelia with more loved than he ever showed oak, all the things he did with oak he started doing it with amelia an oak just got left behind in it all, amelia is behaving like this now because all the time is spoiling her an now that he is grieving an wanting answer about what really happened with norine as well she is feeling left behind an sarah isn't explaining that they are the adults an she is just a child an it doesn't concern her to know everything thats going between her an pat where money is concerned (amelia reminds me of rian sometimes wanting to know every little detail of whats going on) yes oak an ben went to private schools an had all those stuff but the thing is norine put all that into place for HER children not children that pat had outside off their marriage, sarah could have easily got a job when she married pat an even before an put things in place for amelia but sarah wants the easy way for evrything an she is teaching that same to amelia an i think sarah is having a miscarriage cause of all the stress lately.
So, this comment, the best part is the truth in it. Obviously, you're right. If you meet a drunk man in a bar it's not going to be a fairytale and you guys fall in love and live happily ever after. I mean in this scenario, I'm not sure Pat even remembered her name until she "randomly" ran into him. **Rolling my eyes right now**
Amelia isn't the only one hurt. She can't act like only she can be angry and hurt. What about Oakley? She was hurting and angry for so long and everyone acted like she needed to get over it. Like she was overreacting. What about now? What gives Amelia the right to act so betrayed and angry and hurt when Oakley was hurting for sooooo long? She only blew up once and when that happened she was told to stop. That get behavior was unnecessary and childish. Is Amelia not acting the same way? Everyone must pay for the mistakes even if it hurts.
Okay so my parents used to give my siblings and I money for good grades... I would get about $50 for a good report card, which was all A's and no like bad reports on my behavior. Anyways my older siblings, we had the same rules, but they didn't get that and they'd get super angry and even when I was ten and getting my little bit of money for my work I understood that I was getting it because I had put effort in ALL the time and when I got my reportcard, those letter grades were representing the work. THAT was why I was getting it. They could be getting it too if they worked hard.
Birthdays... so again, I have siblings and when I was way younger like three I can remember getting a small like gift so that I wouldn't feel "left out," but that stopped when I was like five lol.
The point of these little things? By the time I was Amelia's age I understood that my older siblings had a job therefore they had more spending money than I did. Do you know what I did the first moment I could? I went and got me a job at Barnes and Noble the minute I got a work permit LOL. (I spent my checks at the store so that was plan...SMH) but still... you don't hear her saying that she was helping out and getting less than Oakley in fact pat was just GIVING her money to make up for something that was not in his control. I mean... honestly there's a part where Pat is like if I had control I could share it... I wrote that and I still laughed, just saying.
Amelia, she's a teenager I give her that but she's a brat and her parents didn't teach her right....but damn don't bratz have sympathy for other people because clearly she doesn't and that makes her just evil in my book... did she even care about Oakley, Ben dying? RIGHT! They died and they found out their alive and she's still thinking about money. But, again, I will say in her defense (scary right!?) she did some serious struggling with Sarah and when she found Pat that changed. I don't know if anyone has ever experienced this or heard of it. For example say you have someone who didn't have a lot of food... starved and then they finally get food. I know some may believe that they eat everything in sight, but most times, they hoard their food. They are so used to being hungry that they hide food for later. Then after that, they check the food, like they have six packets of chips, and they keep checking over and over again to make sure that they have those six packets. Amelia is like half that when it comes to money, and half spoiled. Sarah made her struggle and I use that term loosely but they were like on the brink of homelessness and hungry when Sarah "ran" into Pat. (She played him. Lets just get that straight.) Anyways, Pat goes into total overcompensation and then things are built with no foundation.
I was reading this book about how to make blended families work, for this book, and like it said that you don't rush people, you try to make things balanced and equal you show that love isn't being necessarily taken and given away but shared. There was a bunch more but I'm not going to mention it all, anyways... Pat and Sarah... they did none of those things that are recommended. And what strikes me as not really funny but have a shake my head moment is that it says that even with following those step/ those instructions... things will still be bumpy. Pat had Grant whispering those things in his ear... and didn't listen.
The fact that sarah was confused that Amelia was mad at her it feels like she thinks she did no wrong i mean hello pat may be a horrible father but sweetheart you're right there with him! Hmm... Amelia has always been a bit clear about her feelings with everything. I know it's sucks cause this is a work in progress story and even though I update often, so many could read this book in one sitting lol and waiting for updates sucks. I know.
But if you guys go back, to when they are having the therapy session – Oakley isnt' there – Amelia has issues with Sarah. Sarah from the moment she moved in wanted to mother Oakley and Ben, she bashes Norine but still brags about Oakley's intelligence and accomplishments like she is responsible for it. Amelia HATED THAT. It's in the session. Go there... and well... it's one big mess which is why I won't blame the kids, I think Sarah and Pat and Norine all made bad decisions.
Then when people tried to step in, there was nothing they could really do, it wasn't like Grant could just take Oakley and Ben from Pat, yes he was emotionally neglecting them, but he had them fed and warm. Which not many have. Instead family tried to help where they could, but Pat was the conductor of this crazy train that was bound to crash and Sarah was right there along with him.
You can't raise a spoilt brat and expect her to NOT be one... Any one watch 2 Broke Girls? With Kat Dennings and .... The blonde chick? Her name slips my memory but look at her... she had money and then it wasn't until she had it taken away that she had a wake up call. This is Amelia's wake up call. I still have hope for her to grow... which is why I'm keeping her with grandma and grandpa. **wink wink**
I love how you gave us your opinion instead of ignoring our little debate. Your right blame can easily be pushed around, but I feel it would be more towards the adults. In this chapter to touched upon, when Oakley realized her mom wasn't coming back - which I believe you mentioned that she was around 8 yrs old; which was a year, probably less, of when Amelia and Sarah came into her picture. That's when she put two and two together and most likely realized that it wasn't as easy to hand off that recorder. & like you mentioned I don't blame Pat for retreating, when something happens, that can make a huge impact in your life (specially a negative impact), many people (including myself) handle it differently and just shut down. It hurt him to loose the love of his life. But I blame him, because instead of coming back to his two kids, he came to back to (practically) complete strangers. It seems as if Pat saw Amelia and Sarah, as a new fresh start.. A new family, in which, he was never left and he didn't do wrong regarding his children. Because Pat never did wrong regarding Amelia - his only wrong was over compensating (but who hasn't seen parents out there who spoils their kids rotten), compared to Oakley and Ben, Amelia was never abandoned purposely. SO FIRST, THANK YOU, I read ALL your comments. I know writers say that and before I couldn't think of a way to go around and answer someone and not others and whatnot but then I just figured that doing it the way I am now, going in and just picking like up to 15 comments and replying it's better than not even trying to show that I am reading what you guys are saying and what not.
So yeah, the debate... I'm not quick to put it all on the adults but there is just so much that they could have done better, and I'm one of those like it's never too late to try people which is why people are like that Pat seems to be two different people. Ben and Oakley dying was a you know moment for him, it's like you're faced with that fork in the road and you just before running down the one that looks easy you have to think about how you're living and where you want to go and if that path will take you there or not. Pat's failing BTW. Like he's in a tough stop with Sarah pregnant but still... he needs to take this time that Oakley and Ben are away and while I'm saying this like I'm NOT the writer lol, I will say when I write I take a step back, keeping as much of my own belief's out you know? Which is why even though I'd love for Pat to just put Amelia in her place and leave Sarah, SUPPORT HER, but take a step back and just figure him out, I won't write that because he's weak and wouldn't do that.
See I think you're saying it perfectly, it's okay that he checked out for a bit, I get that, grief and all, but at some point lets say a year, yes it still hurts, but you come back for your kids, you be the parent that they need. You don't just walk around half there, in a fog and when you finally do come back it's like let me try to use super glue to build this new skyscraper.
THANK YOU!! Sarah... the lies... Pat was overcompensating for something that didn't even happen!! AMELIA WASN'T ABANDONED AT ALL or PURPOSELY!
wow I wish Sarah would own up for her actions and as the adults in a child's life you as a parent owe that child to make the best choices for them you as they would say a daughters role model is her mother and her father is how she betrays men so basically Amelia and Oakley are screwed I think Amelia is being the way she is because she is role modeling her mother Oakley luckily has Grant that can be her role model male but how does Amelia have? so I'm not surprised by these feelings I wouldn't be surprised I'd she does something drastic as for the babies I sorta hope there ok but it would be a great life lesson for the 3 if they were premature or if they passed. The thing about it is, Sarah doesn't have to admit that she did anything wrong, I mean Oakley and Ben are gone, right now it's just about Amelia and well she was selfish and she isn't apologizing... but sometimes I guess I want readers to keep in mind... that after doing so much, eventually if falls on deaf ears and well I just give you that little clue.
How many chapters left?? JUST TWO/Three (so four/six posts) AND THEN EPILOGUE... (five/seven total posts) I think this whole book has been me trying to get you guys to the epilogue. I really hope I do it justice but, I know some people are going to be REALLY REALLY blown away! but yea... I'm setting up for the fourth and most likely FINAL book...
(I have one last bang, but it depends on readers, like I don't want to give it away but with how I want everything to end, there may be a fifth... then I'll have to say goodbye to Chelsea and Gabriel... maybe focus on some other characters lives, like JUST Oakley/Ben/Kieran/Kayla – the younger characters... Ava and Casey... or Cody and Livvy...)
I do plan on tying up a few loose ends here in this book... hint hint... but the fourth book there will be a time jump.
Anyways... that's all for now folks... I have to go study so I can watch Grey's Anatomy later... I mean I just don't know where that show goes on from **last weeks bomb** but I'm willing to give them two hours for the season finale while I work on my new story:
"Loving Ashlynn." {posted a preview chapter on my Facebook page so if you want to check it out: www.facebook.com/newxseason or just search for Roxann Season.}
All you Scratch fans... I'll post soon, probably Saturday, maybe much sooner but I'm not making promises.
Bye,
roxann :)
