"You know you shouldn't eat things with raw eggs." Jenna warned as Rana ate a spoonful of the cookie dough they were making. Rana scoffed, and dipped her spoon back into the bowl.

"I am a doctor, and I am telling you that's practically not true."

Jenna raised an eyebrow in amusement.

"Practically not true?"

Rana shrugged.

"It's all about the power of the mind. I am willing myself not to get sick from these raw eggs, and I won't!" she exclaimed putting the spoon in her mouth again, and Jenna shook her head, turning back towards the mixer.

Hudayfah and Rami had gone out for business after Fajr and had yet to return, and Hudayfah had put up Muhsin in a hotel room as Jenna had decided she couldn't face him right now. So the girls had taken advantage of having the house to themselves. First they had blasted the radio and danced all over the entire house, then they had played Dance Dance Revolution for about an hour until they collapsed on the floor in a fit of giggles, complaining how out of shape they were, and then proceeding to order Chinese food for lunch. After watching Pride and Prejudice which was the millionth time for both of them, (the amazing Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy BBC version not that Keira Knightley rip off), Rana suggested they make chocolate chip cookies, and after putting on Cake Boss to give themselves inspiration, they had begun to get out the ingredients, and now Jenna was attempting to place the mixture on the baking sheets.

"Well stop eating all the dough, we won't have enough to bake!" Jenna exclaimed slapping away Rana's hand, and she laughed, placing her spoon down before jumping up to sit on the counter.

"Tell me about your sisters." She said, and Jenna smiled, spooning out another clump of dough.

"Well, Emma is a year younger than me, and Maria is three years. They are the best sisters a girl could ask for, and I love them so much. Emma and I are almost identical in looks but polar opposites in regards to our personalities. She is loud and hyper and totally health and fitness obsessed, while I'm quieter and kind of shy and well, I eat cookies in the middle of the day!"

Rana laughed.

"Yes she is definitely your opposite." She teased, and Jenna kicked her.

"Be quiet!" she exclaimed, licking her finger. "Emma actually is a nutritionist and a physical trainer."

"Is she married?"

Jenna shook her head.

"No not yet. She's been so obsessed with her work that I think it is going to be awhile before she does."

"What about Maria?"

"No she isn't married either. She's only twenty, so she's the baby of the family. She's kind of spoiled but she's also one of the sweetest people you're ever going to meet. She's studying to be a veterinarian, though I don't know how she will handle when she has to put animals down with her soft heart!" she exclaimed, and Rana laughed again.

"I used to want to be a vet too until I found out you had to do that." She swung her feet back and forth. "And what about Muhsin?"

Jenna made a face, and added more chocolate chips to the bowl.

"Muhsin is the oldest, he's twenty six."

"Hud's age!" Rana exclaimed, and Jenna nodded.

"Yup. You know he went to ASU with Hudayfah right?"

Rana's eyes widened.

"I didn't know that! Wow that's...interesting."

Jenna laughed.

"Yeah I only found that out recently."

"What did he study?"

"Well he actually studied to be a lawyer."

Rana practically choked on her water.

"What!? Muhsin!? A lawyer!?"

Jenna nodded grimly.

"Yeah." She paused to put one of the baking sheets into the oven. "He passed the bar, but that was all before he got into...well you know." She said trailing off, and Rana nodded.

"I'm sorry."

Jenna shrugged.

"He made his choice in life. Now he has to deal with the consequences." She shook her head. "Hudayfah has been bailing him out for years now." She glanced at Rana a bit shyly. "Your brother is amazing."

"Have you told him that?" Rana asked teasingly, and Jenna flushed.

"I'm not exactly that good at expressing my emotions and feelings."

"You know I have two brothers, Hudayfah and Sami. Hudayfah was always the sensitive loving one, and Sami was the butch manly man who scoffed at showing any emotion. Whenever I fell off my bike, or someone was mean to me, or medical school would get too much for me, Hudayfah was the one I went to. Sami would tell me to just suck it up and be a man." She laughed. "But Hud would do everything in his power to ease my mind, even if I was being overly dramatic. He is the type who loves with all of his heart and soul, and he loves to show it." She paused, keeping her gaze on the ground. "He needs to show it. I know the two of you didn't start out your relationship in the traditional sense..."

Jenna kept her eyes on the counter

"You know?"

Rana nodded.

"Yeah. I do. But I can see it in his eyes Jenna. He is falling for you. Just give him a chance."

Jenna nodded, feeling herself close to tears.

"I've been trying."

Rana smiled gently.

"Try harder. I want to be an Aunt." She teased, and Jenna gasped in shock before bursting out laughing. Soon she was laughing so hard that she slid down onto the ground, and Rana joined her. After a few minutes they were giggling so much that tears were rolling down both their cheeks, and Rana shook her head, nudging Jenna.

"I've always wanted a sister, and Alhamdulillah, Allah swt brought me the best one in the world."

Jenna smiled, before opening her arms, and the two embraced before getting back up, resuming their baking.

"Tell me about Sami. How old is he?"

"Sami is thirty four." She said, and Jenna's eyes widened.

"Oh wow. You two are a lot younger!"

Rana nodded.

"Sami is technically our half-brother. When he was six, his mom passed away from breast cancer Allah yerhamha, and two years later, Baba married Mama."

"SubhanAllah. That's so sad." Jenna said, and Rana nodded.

"Alhamdulillah Mama takes care of Sami just like her own son. We never think of him as our half-brother, we are all just one big family."

"That's so nice MashaAllah." Jenna said with a smile. "What does he do for a living?"

"He's a professor at ASU actually."

"MashaAllah!" Jenna exclaimed and Rana smiled.

"Yeah he's actually one of the more popular professor's, I think because he is so young. Here move that tray up to the top rack and we can squeeze this one in between." She said, and once they had arranged all of their cookies into the oven, they plopped down on the couches, Cake Boss still playing in the background.

"Tell me more about Hudayfah." Jenna said, and Rana grinned.

"What do you want to know?"

"Everything! I don't really know much about him."

"Ask him then. He would love it if you did."

Jenna nodded.

"I will, but I want to hear about him from your point of view too."

Rana smiled and leaned her chin in her hands thoughtfully.

"Well he is honestly one of the best men you are ever going to meet in your life. Every year he volunteers with Islamic Relief, he actually opened a few shelters in downtown New York, one for women and one for families."

Jenna's eyes widened.

"He opened the shelters. Like paid for them?"

Rana nodded.

"Yup. He loves animals."

"Aw he does?!"

Rana nodded.

"The house would be crawling with pets if you wanted. Do you like animals?"

"I love cats!"

"Ask him for one. He will probably bring you home a kitten tonight if he knew you liked them."

Jenna felt her heart melt at the image of Hudayfah holding a baby kitten.

"He wants four kids."

Jenna laughed.

"Really?"

Rana nodded.

"Yeah he's always been great with kids. He volunteers every few months at the Islamic School back home with the children. They all love him."

Jenna smiled. He was perfect. He was the perfect person and she had given him such a hard time. InshaAllah from now on it would be smooth sailing for them.

"Okay I have to ask because he won't tell me. What does he do for a living? I mean he you know has a lot of money."

Rana threw her head back and laughed.

"He's a mechanical engineer. But what made him so rich, and yes I can say that I'm his sister, is about four years ago he invented something and hit the jackpot."

"What was it!?"

"Okay you know how when someone goes to the hospital they have to type in their social security number so they can pull up their information and records?"

"Yes." Jenna said with a nod.

"Well Hud invented this device where all a person has to do is put their hand on it, and it will read their palm like a thumb print, and not only pull up their information, but their entire medical history. It is a huge help especially in emergency rooms. We use it in my hospital! Hospitals all around the world use it actually."

"Wow," Jenna said, totally impressed. "But why didn't he want to just tell me?"

"He gets embarrassed easily about his success, and he doesn't like to talk about his wealth. Plus he probably didn't want you to think he was a nerd."

"Nerds are hot." Jenna said automatically, and when she realized what she had said she turned bright red, and Rana burst out laughing.

"I would tell him that."

Jenna shook her head, her face still red, before she leaned her cheek against the side of the couch.

"Now what about you Rana?"

"What about me?"

"Tell me about you. I know you are a doctor, a surgeon, but what else?"

"Um, well I like to read and bake. My favorite color is green. I love to surf, but am terrified of jellyfish."

"You surf?!" Jenna exclaimed and Rana nodded.

"As often as I can! We will go to the Jersey shore someday, and I will teach you how."

Jenna smiled.

"InshaAllah. Now about the good stuff."

Rana's cheeks reddened slightly.

"I'm not sure I know what you mean?"

"Okay, I'll make it easy for you. Rami?"

Rana groaned, and buried her face in the couch cushion.

"Rami." She said her voice a bit muffled, before she pulled her face up. "Rami has been a pain in my side my entire life."

"So you love him a lot."

"With all of my heart." She said with a sigh, and Jenna grinned.

"And why aren't you together yet?"

Rana shrugged.

"I don't know. You know it's like we fought desperately against the attraction between us. Part of me thinks it was because our personalities clashed, but a bigger part was because of Hudayfah. You know? We weren't sure how he would handle it, and we didn't want to risk going there if he wasn't okay with it."

"Aw Rana!" Jenna exclaimed putting a hand on hers, and Rana laughed.

"You know it wasn't until he got shot that he started to show a different side. A side where I guess we kind of realized we couldn't skirt around things anymore, and we had to just lay everything our on the table and just face Hud's reaction. It's like we realized that if he had died, we would never be together."

"So what now?"

Rana shrugged.

"I think he just needs some time to heal first."

Jenna smiled.

"How horrible was it giving him his shots?!"

Rana groaned again.

"Well you know I've given a million shots to patients before but this was so embarrassing! I would have had Hud do it, but it has to be given a certain way."

"Hudayfah wouldn't tell me where it was given." Rana laughed loudly, and Jenna scowled at her sister. "What? Where is it given?"

"The upper thigh." Rana said, her face reddening again, and Jenna giggled.

"Well I hope you two settle things fast. I'd like to have Rami as a big brother."

Rana shook her head in amusement.

"And I hope you and Hud do too."

The sat for another pleasant half hour watching Cake Boss until their cookie were done, and they were just putting them on a rack to cool, when the sound of the door opening made them jump from their seats.

"Is it safe for Rami to come on?" Hudayfah asked as he came into the room.

"No!" both women squealed and as they started dashing towards the stairs, Hudayfah grabbed Jenna's arm as she rushed past him, spun her around so she was tucked into his body, and kissed her nose.

"Hello." He said, and she laughed.

"Hello."

He grinned, and pushed back a lock of her hair.

"It smells wonderful in here."

She beamed.

"Thank you. We've been making chocolate chip cookies all day."

"Yum, my favorite. I can't wait to eat them." He kissed her forehead. "I missed you." He whispered, and she blushed prettily.

"I missed you too." She said quietly, and the look on his face was such one of pleasure that she threw her arms around him and he caught her, tightening his grip, and burying his face in her hair. After a few moments he let her go.

"You should go get your scarf on, Rami could smell the cookies from downstairs, and it's going to be hard to keep him back any longer." He said running a hand through the length of her hair.

She laughed.

"I actually was prepared unlike Rana, and I put my scarf in the kitchen." She said, walking a few steps to where he scarf was laying across one of the chairs.

"Good girl. I'm going to go change, I'll be back down in a second. Just let Rami in when you're ready." He said kissing her on the cheek before skipping up the steps. She watched him go, her heart beating furiously, before she quickly wrapped her scarf and pinned it into place. Once she had it secured, she went to the front door, opened it, and let out a piercing scream.

Slumped against the doorframe was a bruised, bloody, beat up man, and as Jenna continued to shriek, Hudayfah came dashing down the stairs in only an undershirt and sweatpants.

"Jenna? Jenna darling what is it?!" he exclaimed, and as he came to a halt next to her, he gasped, and his mouth fell open.

"Omar?!"
