"Gone?! What do you mean she is gone!?" Jenna demanded, and Maria let out a sob.

"As soon we got into the store, she went off on her own!"

"Jafar let her?!" Farris asked in disbelief.

"He tried to stop her, but you know Emma how stubborn she can be. She had found a dress she liked and I guess wanted to try it on. After about a half hour when she didn't come back, Jafar said he was going to check on her, but he never returned. And I wasn't paying attention to the time, so it wasn't until an hour had passed that I realized I hadn't heard from her. But I can't find her anywhere!"

Jenna felt her heart constrict, and she shared a glance with Farris, who had a worried look on his face as well.

"Are you sure she's not in the dressing rooms trying on clothes?"

Maria nodded.

"I'm sure! I went in and looked, all the rooms are empty!"

"Did you try calling her!? Maybe she went to another part of the store and forgot to tell you?" Jenna asked, and Maria nodded.

"I called her like seventeen times, and it rings once, before going to voicemail! Jenna where is she!?"

"It's going to be fine Maria," Jenna said, trying to sound comforting and calm, though she was the furthest thing from calm.

"I'll call Hud." Farris said pulling out his phone, and Jenna nodded.

"I'll try Emma again. Maybe she just didn't have a signal?"

Maria shook her head. .

"I hope that's it!" she dabbed at her eyes with her sweater, her eyes red, and Jenna dialed Emma's number. The first few times it went straight to voicemail, but on the fourth try, to her surprise, someone answered.

"Hello?" She asked, and there was a brief silence, before a raspy male voice filled her ear.

"Well, well, well. If it isn't Jenna. Or Jen as you are listed here in the contacts. What a cute nickname. It suits you love."

"Who is this!?" she demanded, her heart beating in overtime.

"Oh that's right. We haven't been properly introduced have we? You probably don't remember me from when I delivered your precious flowers." She felt her stomach sink. "But why would you pay attention to people who actually work? Hud must be spoiling you rotten."

"Where is Emma?" she asked, trying to keep her voice steady, and he made a disapproving sound.

"When you call someone, you should greet them properly when they answer the phone. Especially if you don't want your sister to get hurt."

"You wouldn't dare!"

"Oh I wouldn't?!" he laughed. "You obviously don't know me very well. Come now love, say my name."

She swallowed deeply.

"Hello Jamaal."

As she said his name, Farris let out a gasp, staring at her in horror, and Maria looked between them in confusion.

"Oh what a wonderful sound!" Jamaal crooned, and she shivered slightly.

"Where is Emma!?"

"She is safe for now my lovely."

"Let her go!" She exclaimed, and he laughed again.

"Yes, because I'm just that kind of person. Now are you calm enough to hear my proposition? People who aren't calm annoy me, and when I get annoyed, people get hurt."

She was silent for a second, trying to get her breathing under control.

"Wait Jenna, I want to hear." Farris whispered, unwinding a pair of iPhone headphones from his pocket, and she plugged them into the phone, handing one of the earbuds to him, and slipping the other under her scarf.

"Okay, I am calm."

"Good girl." He said in a mocking tone, and Farris rolled his eyes. "Now, I have no interest in your sister whatsoever. She means nothing to me, which in all honesty if you think about it could be either good or bad, but I'll let you mull that over." He chuckled.

"Then what do you want?"

"I want Muhsin."

"What?"

"You heard me love. I know you have him hidden in that house of yours. You give me Muhsin, I'll most probably give you dear little Emma back."

Jenna felt her heart constrict, and she shared a panicked look with Farris.

"Most probably?"

Jamaal laughed again.

"We will see how easy you make things. I'd advise you to hurry home now and tell Hudayfah of what's going on. Tell him I am eagerly awaiting his call to work out the details."

"Don't hurt her." Jenna whispered, her voice choking up.

"Oh now you aren't crying love are you? I am a sucker for teary women. Fine, I will allow you to speak with her for a moment." There was a sound of a door opening and closing, before she heard her sister.

"Jenna?" came Emma's whispered voice, and tears sprung to her eyes.

"Oh Emma."

"Jenna I'm scared."

"It's going to be okay. We will figure it out. What happened Emma?"

"About five minutes after I left Jafar and Maria, two men came up behind me, put a gun to my back, and told me to walk and not scream otherwise they would shoot."

"Oh Emma. Don't worry, we will come get you!"

"Hurry Jenn..."

"Okay that's enough." Jamaal said, his voice filling her ear. "There see, I'm not such a bad guy!" he teased.

"Why are you doing this!?" she exclaimed.

"Oh it's so much bigger than you think it is. Now I'm bored of this conversation, no offense to you of course. It was a pleasure speaking with you Jenna. Now give me a proper farewell."

She swallowed hard.

"Goodbye Jamaal."

"Such manners!" he exclaimed, and she put a hand to her head. "Oh and love? You have until midnight on Thursday to answer my demands, or Emma dies."

As the click of the phone sounded in her ear, she put the phone down, staring at it before looking up at Farris.

"What's going on!?" Maria asked tearfully, and Jenna shook her head.

"She was kidnapped."

Maria's face paled, and she put her hands over her face.

"Farris what do we do?" Jenna asked after a few moments.

"We need to get home. Let's go." He said standing up, and as the two ladies followed suit, they heard running feet, and Jafar appeared before them.

"She's gone! Emma's gone!" he exclaimed breathlessly, and Farris glared at him, standing possessively in front of Maria and Jenna.

"We know. You were supposed to be protecting her. Where the hell where you!?" he demanded.

Jafar hesitated, running a hand through his hair.

"Jamaal took her."

"How did you know?" Jenna asked, and he shook his head.

"We need to get home, and figure something out. Let's go." He exclaimed, and as they followed him, Maria tugged on Jenna's sleeve.

"Why did he avoid all of our questions? Do you think he knows something?"

Jenna stared at the back of Jafar's head, dread sinking in.

"I don't know Maria."

***

Hudayfah slammed down his phone in frustration, not fully believing what Farris and Jenna had told him.

Jamaal had taken Emma?!

He didn't see that coming.

What were they going to do?!

He began to pace up and down their bedroom in agitation, his heart beating to be near Jenna and confirm that she was safe, despite Farris's reassurances, and hearing it from her own lips.

He made another turn around the room, his mind racing. He knew Jamaal well enough to know that he was going to want to play games, and mess with their minds. He wouldn't go down easily, and getting Muhsin was probably not the only thing he wanted. Jamaal loved to have the upper hand, to be in control, and he would do anything to accomplish it.

Ugh what was he going to do!? He knew that everyone was going to be looking to him for what do to, and he had no clue. Oh he wished Rami hadn't gone to Jersey. He needed someone he could trust fully to figure this out with...

Suddenly someone knocked on his door.

"Hud?"

Oh how Allah swt plans!

"Rami?!" he exclaimed opening the door, and as he saw his brother standing at the door, he gave him a hug. "I'm so happy to see you!"

Rami laughed.

"I've only been gone three days! I know we've spent almost our whole lives together, but if we can't be away from each other for that long, I think we have a problem."

Hudayfah rolled his eyes, and motioned Rami inside, closing the door behind him.

"No that's not it. We have a big problem, and I don't know what to do. Where is Rana?"

"She's downstairs waiting for the moving van to get here. I know the honeymoon was supposed to be at least a week, but we packed up her apartment pretty quickly, so we decided to come back today, and go to Florida tomorrow."

"Um, that's nice, but I'm not sure if you can leave now."

"Why? What's going on?"

"Jamaal took Emma."

Rami's mouth dropped.

"No?! Ya Allah, I did not see that coming!"

"Yeah me neither."

"When did it happen?"

"Actually they just told me right now. They were shopping, and she went missing, then when Jenna tried her cell, he answered. They are on their way home right now."

Rami frowned.

"Who was with them?"

"Farris and Jafar."

"And they couldn't stop her from being kidnapped?"

"You know Emma, she went off on her own." He waved a hand in the air. "I couldn't get all the details, Jenna was in hysterics, and Farris was just trying to get them home."

Rami rubbed a hand over his chin thoughtfully.

"Well you're going to have to tell everyone what is going on."

Hudayfah nodded.

"I know. But I just don't want to divulge anything that the traitor could take back to him."

"I agree."

Both men were silent for a few minutes, before Hudayfah sat forward.

"Okay, here's the plan..."

***

It was cramped inside the family room where everyone was gathered, most of the men having to sit on the ground, but no one seemed to notice, as they were all quiet, staring up at Hudayfah where he was sitting on the couch, an arm around a crying Jenna.

"So what's going on Hud?" Ramzy asked, and Hudayfah sighed, putting a hand to his head.

"Alright. Thank you to all of you for coming. We have a big problem." He took a deep breath. "Jamaal took Emma."

A shocked murmur went through the room, and Maria gave a choked sob from where she was sitting next to her brother. He put a hand on her shoulder, his own face drawn with worry.

"When did this happen!?" Hassan exclaimed.

"Earlier today." Jenna whispered.

"Did she not have anyone with her!?" Ali added, and Jafar stood up, walking over towards the window.

"Um yeah she did, but she wandered off, and had two men take her away at gunpoint." Hudayfah said, watching his cousin, and Rana sighed.

"How are we sure it's Jamaal?"

"He talked to Jenna." Farris said, "I heard part of the conversation, and he definitely took her."

"What are his demands?" Ramzy asked, and there was a beat of silence, before Hudayfah sighed again.

"He wants Muhsin."

Muhsin's head snapped up, and his face paled as all eyes turned to look at him.

"W...what?!" he stammered, and Jenna nodded, wiping at her eyes.

"It's true. He said we have until midnight on Thursday, otherwise he is going to kill her." She whispered, and Maria let out another wail.

"Okay habibti, why don't we go get something to drink?" Rana said taking Maria's hand in hers, and leading her out of the room. Once they had gone, Rami cleared his throat.

"Is that all he said Jen?"

Jenna nodded.

"More or less. He also said if we don't cooperate, that he might not even let her go."

"Hmm," Rami began, but he stopped, staring at the table thoughtfully.

Hudayfah motioned towards his friend.

"What is it Rami?"

"I don't think we should give in to him."

There was a brief moment of silence.

"You think he is bluffing?" Farris asked.

Rami shrugged.

"I think he is."

"In what regard?" Hudayfah asked.

"I don't think he is going to give us Emma even if Muhsin turns himself in. He already admitted that he may not, and you know him better than anyone Hud, he probably won't. I say we wait it out until we can think of something else."

"That isn't good enough!" Jafar shouted, and to the astonishment of everyone, he kicked the table, causing it and its contents to fly across the room.

"Jafar!" Hudayfah exclaimed, and his cousin rubbed a hand over his face.

"We cannot leave her with Jamaal." He shook his head. "We just can't. I don't care what it takes to get her back, we should do it."

"So you think we should just give Muhsin up?" Farris asked, and Jafar shrugged.

"He got everyone into this mess. Because of his screw up, his sister is being held for ransom." He spat out angrily in Muhsin's direction, and everyone turned to look at him.

"Muhsin?" Hudayfah asked gently, and he sighed.

"He's right. This is all my fault, and I have to own up to it. If anything ever happens to Emma, I wouldn't be able to live with myself."

"Is there anything else we can do where Muhsin doesn't have to give himself up, but we can save Emma?" Jenna asked worriedly, and Hudayfah patted her leg, staring at the ceiling absently for a few seconds, before looking about the room.

"Okay. I will call him, and hear what he has to say, and if anyone can think of anything, please let me know." He stood up, pulling Jenna with him. "Rami, we haven't given you a tour of your home yet, let's get Rana, and do it now. If everyone else can decide what to order for dinner than finish packing upstairs, we will join you momentarily." He said, and as he started to leave, Jafar put out a hand to stop him.

"Get her back Hudayfah. Please." He pleaded, and Hudayfah nodded.

"We will Jafar. InshaAllah we will."

As they approached the kitchen, Rami closed the door behind him, and leaned against the counter.

"So did I play the part well?" he asked, and Hudayfah nodded.

"Yes. Good job Rami."

"What's going on?" Jenna asked, and Hudayfah put his arm around her.

"I am going to agree to whatever Jamaal has to say, and then we will have Omar lead us to his house, and get her back. We just needed to act like we were still making a plan so whoever the traitor is he doesn't go running off to Jamaal."

"Won't that be dangerous to go to his house!?" Jenna exclaimed in concern, and Hudayfah shrugged.

"We will hire help, I can't trust the men out there because any one of them could go to him with what I am planning." He raked his hand through his hair in frustration. "I hate that I can't trust them!"

"I know Hud, but this is Emma's life at stake. It's the right thing to do." Rami said, and Hudayfah nodded.

"Why don't you go check on Rana and Maria?" he suggested, and once Rami had left the room, he pulled Jenna to his chest, wrapping his arms around her.

"Oh Hudayfah." She choked out before a sob escaped her, and he held her tighter.

"I know darling. I'm so sorry."

She lifted her face away from his chest, staring up at him.

"Do you think it will work?" she asked tearfully, and he bent to kiss her, before placing his forehead against hers.

"InshaAllah."

***

Hudayfah closed the door of his and Jenna's bedroom, pressed the lock, and made his way towards their bed, dialing Emma's number along the way. After a few rings, he heard someone pick up.

"Hello?" he asked, and laughter filled his ears.

"Hudayfah?! Man it's been too long! To what do I owe this honor?!" Jamaal crowed.

"I'm not interested in playing games. Name your terms."

"Tsk tsk Hud. Like I told your lovely wife, when you talk to someone on the phone, you greet them properly."

Hudayfah clenched his teeth.

"Jamaal."

"See that wasn't so hard! Now I'm glad you called, we have some business to take care of! If you are willing to cooperate of course."

"Whatever it takes to get Emma back."

"Good, good. Now it's quite simple. Hand over Muhsin, and you'll get Emma back."

"Fine."

"Fine? Well that was quick. Man Hud, you take the fun out of everything, I wanted to play around for a little bit first!" Jamaal said in a huff, and Hudayfah rolled his eyes.

"Is that all?"

"Well you know I have been wanting to redecorate."

"Name your price."

"A hundred thousand dollars in small bills." He said almost tauntingly.

"Fine. But in return, we get your word that we will get Emma back."

"Since when do you trust my word Hudayfah?"

"I don't. But Jenna needs it."

"Ahh Jen. What a lovely girl. Quite pretty if I do say so myself."

"Your word Jamaal." Hudayfah said through clenched teeth. He knew the man was just trying to rile him up, and he wasn't going to fall for it.

"Fine. If I get Muhsin and my money, you'll get Emma."

"Deal."

"And Hud? If you try anything, know I won't hesitate to kill her."
