Rafe's father's eyes narrowed in on me. The same shade as his son's, but somehow at the same time, it was nothing like his.

"You hit him?" He asked again, speaking slowly as if I wouldn't be able to understand.

I crossed my arms and tipped my chin up.

"Never seen a girl fight before?" I asked.

I heard a few snickers around me, which quietened when the other C'Riel next to Rafe's father barked something out in their language.

Rafe's father's eyes perused me.

"There seems to be no evidence of a fight on you." He stated.

He obviously knew I wasn't the one who fought Wolf, but he was humouring me anyway.

I shrugged, "I broke a nail." I said.

No one dared snicker this time. They knew I was attempting to enrage him so that he would stop digging.

Rafe's father's glared into mine.

"Who hit him?" He asked again, his voice a little louder. He was asking the people around us but his eyes were trained on me.

I gritted my teeth hoping no one opened their mouths.

No one did. A few beats later I heard Wolf take a breath in as if he was going to talk and I turned to look at him, glaring.

His mouth snapped close and his lips pursed, unhappy with what I was making him do.

I looked back at Rafe's father, glaring into his black and amber eyes. A shift in movement caught my eye and I looked to his right and met calmer black and amber eyes of Rafe's mother.

She murmured something to her husband and he relaxed a little when he looked at her. His gaze softened and the way he stood became more relaxed.

Clearly he had immense affection for her.

After he finished listening to her a small smile lifted his lips and despite his golden hair colour, for a minute, he reminded me of his son.

I blinked, trying to dislodge the picture from my head.

He turned to look at me again and his posture straightened and gaze hardened.

"Follow me," his gaze flicked to Wolf, "Both of you."

The other two C'Riel, both dark haired men, started to usher the other kids back to their classes with sharp words and glares.

Nice. Great bedside manners.

Wolf and I exchanged looks before following Mr. Grumpy and his wife like he'd asked us to.

We stayed a few feet behind them, but kept pace with their brisk walk.

Both of them stopped and Rafe's father ran his bracelets over the Identity Screen and they stepped into the room.

Wolf and I followed them in silently.

They went to stand behind a large marble coloured round edged desk and Wolf and I stood on the opposite side.

The room had nothing else. Literally nothing else. I would know; I tried looking real hard.

Rafe's father cleared his throat and I looked at him.

"Are the both of you still sticking to your ridiculous statements?" He asked us.

Wolf and I stayed silent.

He waited to see if we would say anything.

"I am willing to give you one more opportunity to divulge the truth." He said

Wolf and I maintained our silence.

"Your nutrition privileges will be revoked for today." He informed us, "You will be detained to your rooms for the next week and will leave only for Education and work. Your work on Day Seven, Eight and Nine will be doubled for the next three weeks. You will be monitored and if you do not adhere to the punishments you have been given, the measure then taken will be further severe."

He looked at us, "Is that understood?" He asked.

We nodded.

"I do not wish to see this repeat." He told us and we nodded again. Then he dismissed Wolf and me with a flick of his wrist.

Wolf and I left silently walked.

"Seems awfully punishing given that I was the one beaten up." Wolf grumbled next to me.

I threw him a sympathetic glance.

"Where can we get you fixed?" I asked, stopping and turning to him.

He stopped too and shrugged and I felt guilty for not having taken him immediately to a nurse.

"Let's go find someone who can help you, come on," I said, gingerly taking his arm.

I messaged Freesia on the way and asked her if she knew where the nurse room was.

All the stars were on my side today because she replied immediately.

Where are you?

I let her know we were right near Rafe's father's room or whatever it was and she said she would join us here. So we stayed in place waiting for Freesia.

"So.." Wolf said with a sheepish expression.

"So?" I asked, strapping my communication device into my suit again.

"You're not going to ask me what happened?" He asks, looking down.

"I'm not sure I want to know." I said.

Wolf opened his mouth to say something when Freesia walked to us quickly.

"What the hell happened?!" she asked throwing her hands up.

"Dimwit here got into a fight with a C'Riel. And I saved his ass by taking the blame for it," I explained, "Now we have to get him fixed."

Freesia snorted, "I don't think they have people who can do that." She said even as she started to lead the way.

I snickered as we followed her while she asked around a few times for the nurse room.

The C'Riel were a little confused before they saw Wolf and they nodded and told us the way to the Health Care Centre.

Of course everything had a fancy ass name.

When we finally made it to the Health Care Centre, Wolf let out a breath saying he would more likely die than be able to wander through the maze that was this institution and make it to the Health Care Centre.

When we entered, Wolf was immediately ushered to a tilted back chair and immediate assistance was being provided to him by C'Riel standing around him.

Freesia and I were standing a few feet away unsure of what to do.

A minute later I all but felt the air in the room shift. I looked to the door the same time everyone else did.

Rafe stood leaning against the threshold with his arms crossed. Dark eyes, a bruise on the side of his forehead and one near his jaw and a cut on his lip.

I looked away, dismissing him.

The C'Riel who were standing near Wolf dropped their gloved hands as if waiting for Rafe to give them the go.

My anger flared at that. I was just about to open my mouth to let go a few choice words when I saw Rafe nod his head in my periphery and the C'Riel immediately got back to helping Wolf.

I let out a breath and drew one back in to help control myself. I ran my fingers through my hair, pushing it away from my face.

Out of nowhere, Freesia pulled the lobe of my ear.

"You have a hole in your ear, how come you don't wear earrings?" Freesia asked.

I blinked at her wondering why she was talking about my ear hole. She gave me an awkward smile and I realised she was trying to distract me.

I smiled at her and laughed softly.

"The pair of earrings I had broke, so..." I shrugged, trailing off.

"You had only a single pair of earring?" She asked me staring at me.

I nodded, wondering why this surprised her so much.

She leaned back from me as if to look at me properly.

"Who are you?" She asked me.

I blinked at her wondering what the hell she meant.

I opened my mouth when a very familiar voice said, "Ms. Williams."

Freesia's head whipped to look behind me and her eyes widened.

He knew her second name and I didn't?

Freesia swallowed and continued to look at him. My back was to him, so I couldn't see him and nor did I turn.

I don't know what he said but Freesia muttered, "I'll be right back." and left.

I watched her walk towards Rafe and saw them both step away from the door.

I turned to Wolf and saw his head had lifted and he was throwing me a what-just-happened-right-now look.

I shrugged my shoulders in a I-have-no-freaking-clue way.

I wanted to know what the hell was going on with them but I didn't want to see Rafe so I waited.

When freesia came back two minutes later, I didn't look at her or ask her anything, because Rafe followed her in and went to stand near the C'Riel who stood over Wolf and was fixing him up.

I saw him ask her something and I saw her hesitate before answering. He rubbed his middle finger against his forehead as if he found something very stupid.

Then he spoke quickly to her and she swiftly moved around, flustered, looking for something.

She brought a small tube filled with translucent thick liquid and started administrating it to Wolf. Though where she was administrating it, I had no clue. I couldn't see Wolf.

Rafe stepped back and looked at me. I met his eyes and remembered something.

Mr. Mysterious didn't like it when I put my hair up.

While maintaining eye contact I pulled the strands of my hair up into a bun at the top of my head.

Rafe's nostrils flared and his jaw clenched. I looked away.

Asshole.

Wolf finally sat up and I gasped.

Healed.

His face had completely healed.
