I stared in shock while my mate fell into his arms. "What did you do?" I growled, narrowing my eyes at him. He hurt my mate. And only-
His hiss brought me out of my thoughts. "Do not go there," he said, as if he had heard my thoughts. "You have only caused her pain. I just made her take a nap before she did something stupid." He lifted her gently, causing me to growl out protectively. "I don't know what games you are playing, but you lost her when you started to beat her." With that, he turned towards the pack house and walked, ignoring me.
I followed grudgingly, glaring at him. He had my mate in his arms. My mate, the female that I had had feelings for for who knows how long. The mate that I had hurt because of something that had happened a long time ago.
And the truth was, I regretted it. I regretted hurting her. I regretted standing up for everyone else and not the person that I had feelings for.
"What happened?" Liam asked, breaking me from my thoughts. He looked at me, frowning. Mistrust and dislike filled his eyes. "Did he hurt her, again?" Dislike filled his voice, causing me to growl slightly.
"You are still on my land, Alpha Liam," I said. "I suggest that you do not act like that."
Liam and his friends growled, while Rhett stared blankly. He didn't come to my defence like I thought he would. "It is because of Rylan we are here," he said. "If it wasn't for her then we wouldn't have came. She comes first." He turned to Vulcan. "What happened?"
"Skylar," he replied. "He has threatened Wafilia. We will be leaving for a few days."
"You are not-"
Vulcan hissed turning to look at me. "And why do you care?" he asked. I could feel his glare on me, which caused me to shudder. "You haven't cared about her back then, so why now? She is going, and you can not say a word. You lost her, so I don't know why you are fighting so much."
I blinked back some tears and cleared my throat. I didn't say a word because he was right. I did lose, however I could win her back. Right?
I cleared my throat before walking back to my pack house. I didn't even hold back the tears that were starting to fall. I picked up my pace and ran to the training room. When I got there, I started to punch a punch bag, ignoring the fact I didn't have the proper protection for my hands.
I lost her. I lost her even though she was the only one that I had wanted. However, I knew that it was too late, and it was almost time for me to let her go.

"Hey, Li- oh, uh. Are you alright, Alpha Cooper?" I heard a voice ask from the door.
I looked up to see that it was Becca, Liam's mate, clutching a book. "Cooper," I said, my voice hoarse. I looked back down at my hands which were cracked with dried blood around the knuckles.
"Excuse me?" she asked.
"You don't have to call me Alpha Cooper," I replied. "You can just call me Copper. We are the same rank now, Becca."
She sighed and walked forward, cautiously. Her blue eyes stared into my brown ones, having this slightly suspicious look in them. "Who are you and what did you do to my old Alpha?"
I sighed and shook my head, chuckling. "I am still me," I replied. I moved a hand through my hair and sighed, again. "Well, kind of. I... guess I kind of changed because I had pushed my mate away and am seriously thinking of accepting her rejection."
"You can't!" Becca blurted out, causing me to look up at her surprised. She blushed and cleared her throat, clutching the book tighter. "Well... I don't think you can. I need to talk with Rylan and others."
"Why?" I asked, confused.
"Is your wolf color blue?"
"Yes..."
"That's why," Becca replied. There was a smile on her face, but it quickly turned into a frown. "I can't say anything right now. I still need proof and stuff, but let's just say that it will be bad if you two did not get together."
I blinked. "So I have a chance?" I asked.
"Well, you need to get your act together, but yes, you do have a chance."
"I guess that means I have to apologize to people, huh?"
Becca blinked and gave me a look. "You are definitely not my old Alpha."
I snorted. "Can you blame me?" I asked.
Becca shook her head, her blonde curls bouncing, before shrugging. "I guess not." She smiled. "Well, I need to find Liam. You should probably get changed before starting to apologize to everyone," she advised.
I nodded my head while she started to walk towards the door. "Thanks, Becca," I said. "For everything."
She smiled, cheekily. "Anything for a friend." With that, she left the training room.
I took a deep breath and ran a hand through my hair before leaving the room. If love could change a girl who was all about make-up to an all natural female, then I was sure that it could help me with changing to being the man that Rylan needed.
***
"Why did you even go talk to him, Bec? I thought I told you to stay away from him," I heard Liam said when I walked into the house that they were staying at.
"Well, I needed to. It was the right thing to do," Becca replied. "'Sides, he was crying."
"Cooper doesn't cry," Rhett said. "I think you were seeing things."
Becca growled out at him. "I wasn't seeing things," she insisted. "He was actually crying. He, also, said that I didn't need call him Alpha Cooper."
"He always has us call him that," Rhett said. "The only reason he doesn't get mad at me is because I am his Beta and was his best friend."
"And I thought you still are," I said, stepping into the lounge area. I folded my arms across my chest and looked at him. "I thought you trusted me with your life."
Rhett turned to look at me, and I was shocked about how much hatred was in his eyes. "The only reason that I hang out with you is because of Rylan," he replied, coldly. "She still believes that you are the best person in the world."
"She does?" I asked, hopefully.
He sighed and nodded his head. "Ya, she does." He shook his head and smiled, slightly. "You can see it in her eyes even though her whole body and face is guarded. When she found out that she was your mate, she was happy as well as scared."
I glanced down, feeling guilty. "I know," I replied. I ran a hand through my hair and sighed. "And I want to apologize. I let the power and the popularity get to my head. I should've listened to my instincts when they had told me that she was innocent of the crime that we had blamed her with." I shook my head and snorted, disgusted with myself. "A five year old killing her parents. That is the stupidest thing that I've ever heard, but I believed it, because I didn't want to look like an outsider."
Rhett opened his mouth to speak, but I quickly cut him off with a look. He huffed but stayed silent.
"I know what you are going to say, Rhett," I said. "You believed it for a little while but quickly changed your mind. Some people wanted to start treating you badly, but I quickly ended it saying that he was still going to be my Beta, and if they started to pick on you, then they had to deal with me." I glanced at Gigi. "The only reason why you weren't attacked either was because Rylan had beaten me up when she saw that I was picking on you and told me that if she ever found me or anyone else picking on you, then she would kill them." I shuddered and rubbed my jaw. "I believed her, so I made sure that no one would beat you up and just beat up Rylan."
"Why are you telling us this?" Luke asked.
"Because," I replied. "I don't want to lose Rylan. And the only way that I know that I can even try to get her back is to apologize to those that I had hurt." I turned to look at my mother who had tears in her eyes. I took a deep breath before I walked over to her and kneeled down in front of her. I grabbed hold of her hands before taking a deep breath. "Mom?" I asked my voice hoarse. "I don't know if you can ever forgive me. Not only have you lost your daughter and niece, but you had also lost your son. I know I was power-hungry and that it had changed me into someone that you were not proud of." I took a deep breath and looked down. "I'm sorry. For everything."
Everyone stared at me shocked. There was no sound, and I was sure that they were not breathing.
"Wo-ow..." Rhett said, clearing his throat. "That was unexpected."
I sighed, knowing that what I was about to do was more unexpected. "Not as unexpected as this," I muttered before standing and walking to Rhett. "I want to step down from my position as Alpha and let you have it. You will make a better Alpha than I could ever do."
Rhett cleared his throat before shaking his head. "I am not taking your position," he said. "If Rylan leaves, then I am leaving with her. I can not stay away from my little sister any longer. Knowing her, she wouldn't want you to give up your position. I don't know what she sees, but she sees something good in you. That is why I haven't killed you yet."
I relaxed slightly. "So are we good?"
Rhett stood. He looked at his mate when she placed a hand on his arm and just smiled. He walked over to me and grabbed me by the shirt before he punched me in the stomach and in the face.
I bit back a growl, because I knew that I had deserved it. I knew that I deserved a lot worse from him, but it was because of Rylan that he didn't do what I knew he wanted to do.
"Now we are," he said, making sure that I was steady on my feet. "If you want to give up your position, then give it to Rylan. She will make a good Alpha."
"M- our pack will not like it," I said.
"So? You are the Alpha. You want something done, then it can be done. Don't let others control how you take care of your pack or mate," Rhett advised.
I nodded my head. "All right," I said. "Let's go get my mate." I wanted to show her that I can change from the power hungry male that I was.

A/N: Well, how was that? Surprised about how Cooper acted. I'm thinking about having Rylan beat Cooper's ass before she fully forgives him? How does that sound? Anyways, I hope ya'll like this chapter.
So, ya,
Peace out Fluffy Munchkins.
