**Date night^^Anna's outfit^^**

I brush out my hair, braid both sides to pull them back and tie a small hair tie at the back of my hair. I apply some makeup, but not too over-the-top mascara, eye liner, and light eye shadow.

"You look nice. Goin' on a date?" I whip around to see Austin sitting on my bed.

"Actually, yes." I say matter-of-factly.

"With Matthew?" He smirks, wiggling his eyebrows.

I roll my eyes, and walk over to my dresser, grabbing my jewelry. I go back into the bathroom, and put my earrings in. I turn around to face my brother,

"Should I keep my cartilage ring in or take it out? I mean, I think we're going somewhere fancy. Maybe I should wear my diamond cuff that chain to my earring? Is it too over the top or just right?"

He stares at me with a 'deer in a headlights' look,

"I don't fucking know!" he says in a high pitched voice. I throw my hands up,

"YOLO bitches." I say, knowing he hates the term.

He rolls his eyes and perks up when he hears the door bell. An evil look comes across his face.

"Austin don't you dare." I warn him.

I take a step towards the door, but he's closer. He hops up and sprints towards the door as the doorbell rings again.

"AUSTIN!" I run after him, but I'm too late.

By the time I get to the door, Austin already has the door opened and is interrogating Matt. Although Austin is older than he is, Matt is pretty close to his size and height, but still smaller by a few inches. Matt is mid sentence when his eyes land on me. The conversation quickly comes to a halt. He looks stunned, and admirable, and I feel my cheeks heat up. I've never been stared at like this before.

"Wow." Seems to be all he can say.

"Wow yourself." I say back, admiring at how sharp he looks in his suit.

He smiles charmingly at me, and I return a sweet one back. Beside us, Austin gags,

"Okay. Gross." He turns to Matt, "Have her home at 9:30 on the dot. No later. Understand?"

"Yes sir." No hesitation. Austin seems taken back, obviously expecting an argument. Matthew seems dead serious.

"I was kidding..." Austin replies awkwardly, "this is her house, she can be home whenever, really." Matt's jaw clenches out of embarrassment.

I laugh awkwardly, changing the conversation, "Just ignore him, Matt. He's staying here until he goes back to Kentucky." I grab him on the arm to pull him out the door.

"Pleasure meeting you, sir." Matt says as I drag him away.

"Uhhh likewise Matthew." Austin is obviously not used to this much respect from my date. They give each other a nod before Austin exits the area.

I shut the door, and head out to the Range Rover sitting in the curb of my driveway. Shiny, black, and new, Matthew leads me around to the passenger side and opens the door. He places his hand on my lower back to help me up, and it rests there a little bit.

"Great to know chivalry isn't dead." I say, "Thank you."

"Of course it isn't. Not all men are lowlife jerks with no dignity." He jokes and shuts the door.

He gets in and starts the car. Obviously he won't tell me where we're going or what we're doing. I honestly don't care, I'm just excited. We drive for about 10 min, making small talk that isn't awkward at all. As we pull up to a fancy restaurant, I can't help but gawk at it. It's simple, but absolutely beautiful. We park, and before I get a chance to get out, Matt runs to the passenger side to open the door for me.

"You look ravishing this evening." he says, taking my hand and walking us towards the front. I blush,

"Thank you."

We walk up to the hostess desk,

"Starks, reservation for two." he says, ignoring the fact that she's totally checking him out.

'Uhh bitch! Do you not see he's on a date?'

She leads us to our table, back in a more private area. Matt sits down and she hands is out menus. As Matt's head is down, she continues to check him out until she glances at me. I shoot her a dirty glare, and she blushes and runs off quickly. I get a little more happier as I settle in and look at my options.

"Hello! I'm Mac, and I'll be your waiter tonight. What can I get you lovely couple to drink?" I hear a guy voice say soon after.

"I'll have a Pepsi. I can't have alcohol yet." He replies with a shrug.

I laugh and order a sweetened iced tea. The waiter, Mac, gives us a weird look

"Ok seriously. You take this beautiful girl out on a date to the fabulous restaurant and you don't even order champagne or wine?" We get taken back from his outburst.

"Well ummm....I don't really drink, and he just got back from Afghanistan a couple days ago, so he's not really allowed to drink alcohol at the moment..." I say awkwardly.

"Oh I won't tell!" Matt gives him a stern look, obviously a proud soldier, not looking to break the law or protocol anytime soon.

"What? I'm just saying, before my boyfriend turned 21, I made him do shots and drink alcohol so he wouldn't be so weak when we went bar hopping. It's perfectly normal!" Matt and I stay quite.

"Fine. Pepsi and sweetened iced tea." Mac reluctantly writes down our drink order, "I'll be back to get your order soon!"

"Oh! Four ice cubes in my tea please!" I tell Mac. He gives me a wink, telling me he understands my weird little OCD problem. Matt gives me a strange look.

"What? Look, if I get too many, then the ice melts and the tea gets too watered down. If I don't get enough, then the tea will get warm faster." I explain myself.

Matt bursts out laughing, until he realizes that I'm serious. That just makes him laugh harder. His laugh is almost music to my ears and super contagious, I can't help but laugh along. We laugh until we both have years coming out of our eyes and it hurts to breathe.

"I love the cuff earring by the way."

That made me laugh even harder.

"As much fun as I'm having with you, I think you should probably get back home. I've got work tomorrow." Matt says as we walk together down the sidewalk.

"What time is it?" I ask, not wanting this night to end.

Matt checks his watch, "11:38."

We get to his car and start driving, with the radio on softly and me drifting slowly off to sleep. Matt knows I'm falling asleep, but he keeps talking, telling me about Afghanistan, his life, random facts he knows. The fact that he keeps talking makes me smile.

"Anna. We're here." I feel a hand shake my shoulder.

I reluctantly get up and out of the car, that already has the door open. He walks me up to the door and stands there until I unlock it. I open the door, and before I get in, Matt grabs me around the waist and pulls me towards him. He gives me a quick peck on the corner of the mouth, and lets me go. My face stretches into a smile as he starts waking away.

"What about your jacket?" I call out after him.

He turns towards me, "Keep it."

My smile couldn't get any bigger as I watch him get into his car and drive away.
