Emily's POV

"NYPD OPEN THE DOOR!" I froze in my spot. A hand grabbed mine and pulled me towards the end of the penthouse, closing the doors to what looked like a library. Logan left my hand and walked over to the last bookshelf, pulling one book down, causing the whole bookcase to turn around, opening to a secret passage. How cliché! It couldn't have looked more like a scene pulled out of an action movie! My eyes were still wide, debating weather I was believing my position at the very moment or not. The sound of the police was getting closer by the minute and my heart was sprinting in my ears.

"Come on!" Logan yelled, and I complied, not wanting to get caught. The entry led us through a weird, dark passage. Eventually we arrived another door. Logan stepped from behind me, revealing a small number pad before punching numbers onto it. The pad suddenly blinked green before the door opened. He turned on the lights, exposing a fine looking SUV. He hurried towards the corner, picking the keys and rushing to the car, I didn't waste my time and followed him inside the car. A lot of questions had penetrated my mind, but I couldn't focus on that right now. I had to focus on escaping the police. And there goes a sentence I never thought I would be saying.

Logan punched on the accelerator, getting out of the secret garage. I didn't protest, or talk, or move. I stood paralyzed and petrified in my place, with my mouth closed and my brain exploding with questions and worries.

What would happen to us now?

Was I in trouble with the police?

Would I ever get to see my family again?

Did I seriously have to pee now?

Was I going to die?

But I still didn't utter a word. Not for an hour. Nor for two hours. And certainly not for four hours.

For four hours, Logan was driving, and not a word came out of my exploding mouth. Surprisingly, neither did Logan. Until four excruciatingly long hours later, he spoke.

"You can talk Emily, I know you want to" I looked at him, and let myself empty my cage.

"Why do you have a secret passage in your house? How do you have a secret passage in your house? Why is your secret passage so cliché? Why am I coming with you? Are you going to kill me? I need to pee. Where are we going? Why have you been driving for so long? Where are the others? Do your crewmates know? Is-" well, more like rambled until he thankfully decided to cut me off.

"Stop. Calm down, I know this is really freaky and unexpected, but with the police after me and Deklan after you, did you really expect me to leave you back there? Besides, I'm a criminal; did you really expect me not to be ready for the worst? As the for the cliché stuff, it was all a gift from my mafia father. He provided me with my great escape just in case I ever ended up in a situation like this. I will call Austin and the others once we reach my other safe house, which is only a few more minutes away so please don't pee in my car." I was silenced after that, and not too long later, we pulled up at a small, crappy motel.

"This is your idea of a safe house?" I questioned as we stepped out of the car, walking towards the trunk.

"Well, when you're on the run, you can't really check yourself into a five star hotel now can you princess? It's called keeping a low profile." He said sarcastically. I decided not to reply and followed him as he carried two heavy bags in his hand that just happen to be ready in the trunk of his car. He passed straight by the lobby not once looking back at the lady on the desk, and surprisingly, the lady didn't object.

He continued walking until arriving room 301. He pulled out a set of keys from one of the bags and opened the door, revealing an amazingly bright room. There was a queen sized bed in the middle, snowhite sheets covering it, bright lamps located on every corner of the room and 2 chairs placed before the doors leading towards a balcony! It looked nothing like a motel room.

"Might want to shut that mouth princess, don't want to catch any flies do you?"

"This room belongs to this motel?" I asked very carefully. He slided past me inside the room, slightly stifling a chuckle.

"Yes princess, my mafia father had a business arrangement with the owner of this motel, he designed this room just for me"

"Seems like your mafia father loved you a lot" He froze in his spot where he was keeping the bags and turned around slowly.

"He did" he slowly nodded, resuming from his position. I could see a pang of pain flash through his eyes, so I avoided the subject, closing the door behind me.

He pulled out several technical items from his bag and started fiddling around with them, meanwhile I walked towards the doors of the balcony, gazing at the view outside. The glass on the door was frozen from the cold outside, and the breeze of the winter wind shook the trees from side to side. We were surrounded by nothing but trees and greenery. A wave of calm held me as I stood with my arms crossed, embracing the peace the area emanated. I could hear Logan talk on the phone and fidget with the laptop but the whole time, I ignored it, giving myself the feeling of liberty. Because I knew I was never going to feel it again. I knew that I was too deep with criminals and now there was no going back. So I allowed myself to feel free, peaceful, and happy. Happy that I was with Logan, the man I despised, I hated, I loved. I wasn't supposed to, but I did. After a long journey filled with determination to hate him, I could only love him. And I wasn't going to deny it now. Because just for the brief second I stood staring out that door, I let myself fall and accept everything, I let myself be honest with myself.

But the moment was over too soon, and too soon, I heard my name being called.

"Emily?" I turned around, to meet Logan's piercing blue eyes.

"Yeah?" He paused for a moment, a debate was clear in his eyes, but he finally seemed to make a decision as he straightened up.

"I talked to Austin, they will be here tomorrow, for now, we will stay here the night, and leave in the morning." I nodded.

"Where will we go tomorrow?"

"San Francisco"

"For how long?"

"As long as it takes to get the police and Deklan off our backs. I know it sounds like a lot, but-"

"It's alright" I cut him off, surprising him and myself. My life was already fucked up; it wasn't going to get better. He nodded, and started stripping from his clothes. Huh? "What are you doing?" I asked in horror.

"I'm stripping?" He responded vaguely.

"No shit Sherlock! Why are you stripping?"

"This suit is too expensive to be slept in" My eyes widened in alarm as I realised my situation.

1) Logan Miller, FBI's most wanted, was stripping in front of me.

2) He was really hot

3) There was only one bed!

"Where are you sleeping?" I asked a bit too fast.

"On the bed" he replied simply, by now he stood in only his dress pants.

"Where am I sleeping?" I questioned very slowly.

"On the bed" he responded equally as slowly. A laugh erupted from me as I stared at him in disbelief.

"Something funny?"

"Oh nothing, it's just that you know you expect me to sleep on the same bed as you" I said sarcastically.

"Look Princess, I didn't ever know that I would be on the run with company, so either you sleep on the bed or the freezing floor, or don't sleep at all. Suit yourself. I'm going to sleep. Goodnight" He said, slipping into the bed. I stood at the foot of the bed for exactly 2.5 minutes before he spoke again. "It's been a long day Princess, just sleep." I sighed and reluctantly walked to the other side of the bed, slipping in the corner.

Logan's POV

In no time, we were back on the road, heading out of a small town, into another one. Emily was seated silently in her seat, her gaze focused out the window and her mind deep in thought. My lingered on her every now and then for a brief second, and then back to the road. I didn't like the way our lives had taken a turn for the worst. I could sense the pain in her eyes as she accepted the situation and moved on. Yet there seemed to be nothing I could do except drag her further into a life she didn't want to be on. It was ironic how I was doing it only to save her life, but I wasn't so sure it was even saving her or killing her.

I avoided the subject in my mind, and skimmed through the small, narrow streets of the town. A blue SUV came to sight behind me whilst in an isolated street, and before I could process anything, it bumped into my own SUV purposely, dragging me through the street. My eyes quickly scanned the face of the driver in the car behind mine to clarify my suspicion. Deklan. I took control of my car again, speeding it so he wasn't pushing it anymore. I ignored my GPS, accelerating out of the street and taking a sharp right. But he wasn't slow either, he followed me. Emily was now wide awake as she tried to process the scene.

"What's going on?"

"Deklan is behind us." Her eyes held panic as her hand arrived her mouth to cover it. "Don't worry about it"

I followed another small lane, punching the horn to scare the people away. They jumped out of the way after seeing my speeding car. Emily's shrieks were constant, but I ignored them for the time being, thinking about her safety first. All hell would have to break loose and go through me if they wanted to get to her.

I took a sharp right, falling upon yet another narrow lane, which I sped out of quickly, arriving an intersection. I turned left at last moment, but the blue SUV was still tagging along. I pulled the GPS out of its holder and quickly passed it to Emily.

"Look for the closest train station" I commanded. She did so, silently, without questioning me.

"Turn right" she said, and I did. I knew that Deklan wasn't going to lose me that easily, so I decided to lose him. Emily continued giving me instructions until we arrived an opening of a train station. There was a barbed wire fence blocking the way, but I ran my car straight through it, causing the gate to fall apart easily. My tires were now running through muddy grass, and so were Deklan's. I could see the faint image of a train from far. Emily's eyes widened as we got closer to it.

"LOGAN WHAT THE FUCK? WE ARE GOING TO DIE, DON'T YOU DARE THINK ABOUT DOING WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO DO!" she yelled, but I ignored it. I knew what I was doing. The train was coming closer and closer, it was only a few seconds before I did it.

I took a deep breath before focusing.

I punched on the accelerator as much as I could, the train as close to me as ever. I could see Emily's eyes shut as we went right through, causing the train to fly by us just as we got to the other side. The horn of the train was persistent. I watched through the rear view mirror as we disappeared whilst the train was still moving. And just like that, I knew we lost Deklan.

I drove and drove, for a good fifteen minutes before I stopped in the middle of nowhere. Emily still looked like she had come back from the dead. And as soon as I punched on the break and the car stopped, she stepped out of the car.

"ARE YOU INSANE? DID YOU WANT US T DIE? WE COULD HAVE BEEN DEAD RIGHT NOW! WHAT WERE YOU THINKING-" she went on exploding, but I was having none of that now, I marched up to her as she continued talking, and in that moment, I did it. I pressed my lips to hers, silencing her.
