Angela woke up in Adriano's arms. She savoured the moment, knowing she would be returning to Miami later today and that this might be the last time she was like this for a while. She sighed and moved closer to him in bed, lying there, thinking about everything that had happened last night. It didn't seem real.
Angela needed an answer and when she got the one she was hoping for, Adriano opened up completely and fully to her. He told her everything that needed to be said. He told her about in the beginning and how she had begun to warm on him. He mentioned everything leading up to and during his birthday party- the kiss they shared on the piano stool that night, when he saw her hurt on Christmas, the first night they shared together and how he ran away from that.
Adriano was afraid, as much as he didn't want to admit it, he had told her that. He didn't want to ruin her, he didn't want to ruin what they had and he felt like the best way to do that was to stay away but it had become increasingly difficult for him to do anything without thinking about her when she went back to Miami. But what was keeping him from contacting her was that he wanted her to move past everything in New York and forget the terrible memories she had here- he was a part of her time in New York and he thought it was for the better.
The pair had worked things out after Adriano's confession and Angela ended up staying the night with him. Adriano began to move a little beside her and when she looked up at his face, she noticed his eyes cracked open.
"Good morning." He said quietly. His hair was messed up and he had a big grin plastered on his face.
"Morning." Angela smiled back. Adriano moved his face closer to hers and began planting soft, sweet kisses on her neck, making his way to her mouth.
"I miss waking up with you." He confessed and she giggled a little at him before snuggling closer to him.
"What time is it?" she groaned, remembering the day she had ahead of her.
"Hold on...It's ten thirty." He said, looking at the clock on the bedside table.
"I have to go back to Mike's soon." She sighed and he turned to look at her in bed. There was a silence for a short while until he spoke again.
"I'm going to miss you Angie." He had a sad look on his face and his tone was full of sorrow.
"I'll miss you too." Angela gave him a sad smile.
"I promise I'm going to come out there as soon as I can, whenever I can. How is moving in going for you?"
"Almost everything's sorted now. Kenny and Santino and my family really helped me a lot."
"I can't wait to see it." He smiled at her before stretching out.
"C'mon, I'll make you breakfast before you go." He kissed her on the lips before getting up, the pair of them heading to the kitchen.
Adriano made breakfast for both himself and Angela. He drove her back to Mike's apartment where her guards were waiting for her. Angela still needed to get the last few things packed and Adriano stayed with Mike until she went to the airport. Kenny and Santino drove in the car they had got for New York while Adriano drove Angela in his own car. He wanted to spend the last bit of time they had together before she went back home to Miami.
"It won't be too long before I visit you, I promise Angie." He whispered to her once he handed over her bags to the guards. The pair were standing there in the airport as she waited to go through security and catch her flight.
"I hope not." She chuckled a little and smiled. Adriano caressed her cheek and then kissed her on the forehead.
"I love you." He said as he kissed her lips.
"I love you too, but I have to go now." Angela laughed again before he stole one last kiss and hugged her goodbye.
The flight to Miami this time around, was definitely not as bad as the last one, Angela thought. She had a clear head and felt content after fixing things with Adriano. When she arrived home, her family had instantly noticed her cheerfulness. She was at her parent's house one night, they were all having dinner, when her sister, Lucy mentioned it.
"You seem a lot different since you've came home from New York Angela, anything we need to know about?" Lucy laughed after gulping back a mouthful of her food. Her mother and father chuckled along and looked at her.
"No, nothing really."
"So that's a yes then?" Lucy teased her and Angela rolled her eyes before smiling at her sister.
"Not yet anyway." Angela grinned.
"Do you think you'll be going back to New York again any time soon?" her father asked, curious.
It had been just two weeks since she had come back home but she had kept in contact with Adriano. Every day, they would either talk on the phone or text. It helped a little and she didn't miss him as much as when she first arrived in Miami. The contact helped a lot.
"I don't plan to go back yet but I'm not sure."
"What's making you go back?" her mother was also intrigued, Angela hadn't mentioned much about that Adriano guy who had made contact with them right before Angela came home. Her mother was surprised by this but left it as it was. She was unsure as to whether he was really just a friend or not but didn't want to intrude on her daughter's business, well... she did a little.
"Just... friends. The last few months I lived there, I met some really nice people." Mike, Trisha, Franco and Maria came to mind at her words and she hid a smile to herself.
Angela's parents went in to the living room while the two sisters cleaned up after dinner. The girls were chatting when Lucy brought up Angela's meet up with Nick.
"So how did your lunch with Nick go in the end? You never told me how you got on after you mentioned you were going to me?"
"Um... It was good in the beginning, but when we were about to go he asked me out again."
"And what's the problem with that?" Lucy laughed as she reached up into the top cupboard to place the plates inside.
"Well, I don't think that's a good idea."
"Why not? Didn't you two used to have a thing?"
"Yes, but then I wanted to just be friends. I don't see him like that anymore. That was a long time ago and well..." Angela hesitated.
She didn't really want to tell her family about Adriano yet. She knew she would have to eventually but she felt if she said too much now she would jinx everything. Adriano and Angela had just mended things after all and now she was reluctant to share much with her sister.
"Go on... I'm waiting." Lucy turned and looked at her sister, a huge grin plastered onto her face.
"There's kind of someone back in New York."
"Kind of?" Lucy sniggered.
"Okay- there is someone back in New York. Someone I care about a lot. I don't want to say too much right now though so please don't ask." Lucy rolled her eyes at her sister's last words.
"Fine, fine. But you'll have to tell me some time, okay?" Lucy wiggled her eyebrows and the two girls laughed.
"I promise Lucy." Angela smiled at the thought of Adriano and then went back to work.
It was late when Angela got back, she said goodbye to her parents and sister and made her way home with Kenny and Santino following behind her car in their own. She got home and looked at her phone, noticing Adriano hadn't replied to her text she had sent him earlier. She frowned but figured he was probably busy. She took a shower and then headed to bed.
It wasn't until an hour or two later, Angela was woken up by the sound of her phone ringing. She felt around for it on her bedside table and answered as soon as she picked it up, not looking at the caller ID.
"Hello." She said groggily, she was half asleep and felt like she was dreaming.
"Angie, I have a surprise for you!" Adriano's familiar voice came through the phone. As much as Angela missed him, she wasn't in the mood for him right now at two in the morning.
"Adriano it's two in the morning, on a Thursday night. I have work tomorrow." She groaned at her end of the phone, yawning before lying back down and getting comfortable, ready to go back asleep.
"But it's important."
"What the hell could be that important that you have to wake me up at this hour?"
"God you're like a grandma. Jesus Angie, what's happened to you?" Angela let out a loud laugh that filled her empty room.
"I'm not quite sure." She yawned again.
"Open your front door." Angela furrowed her brows as soon as she heard his words.
"What? Why?"
"Just do it, hurry up."
"The things I do for you." Angela rolled her eyes before throwing the covers back and getting out of bed. She made her way out into the open planned living room and kitchen and opened the front door, almost dropping her phone in the process.
"Oh my god!" she said excitedly before hanging up the phone. "I can't believe you're here?" she said before Angela scooped her up into a tight hug, lifting her up off of the ground. She squealed with laughter as he squeezed her.
"You don't seem so tired now." He said before putting her down and kissing her passionately on the lips. He broke away before it deepened and picked up his bag before going inside and shutting the door. He leaned on the back of her sofa and crossed him arms.
"Because you're here?!" she exclaimed and ran towards him to hug him again. He loved seeing the smile on her face, and watched how her eyes lit up. He chuckled as she tried to wrap her arms around him, she felt the vibrations of his laughter and turned her head to look up at him. "I missed you." She admitted before smiling.
"I missed you too."
He kissed her then, putting one leg between hers and wrapping his arms around her waist. They took the kiss further and further. Adriano picked her up and carried her.
"No, no." she said between kissed as he turned on a light switch and opened the door he though lead to her bedroom. "Wrong way, that's the bathroom." She mumbled causing him to laugh into the kiss. Her apartment was quite small, so he guessed the only other door, left slightly ajar, was where her bedroom was situated.
"Oh, sorry." He murmured and began walking again. "Nice room." He said, not seeing much. "And nice bed." Angela giggled as the two fell down onto her bed. "Nice-"
"Oh shut up now, you can look around tomorrow." She laughed as she undid the buttons of his shirt and he helped her out of her t-shirt.

Adriano woke up the next morning to find the other side of the bed empty. He could smell foo from the minute he woke up and heard Angela humming something in the kitchen. He stretched and put something on before heading out to meet her. She was already dressed and ready to go to work but decided to make breakfast for the two of them before she headed off.
"Moring."
"Good morning." Angela smiled brightly at him before turning back around to the sizzling frying pan full of bacon.
"Smells amazing." Adriano wrapped his arms around her waist and rested his chin on her shoulder.
"You aren't the only one that can cook you know." She grinned before turning her head and kissing him on the cheek. Adriano chuckled warmly and squeezed her waist. "It's just ready." Angela added before placing the bacon on two plates already full with food.
"What time does work start at?" He asked once they sat down and began eating.
"In half an hour, it's not too far away from here though so it only takes two minutes in the car. So how long are you staying for?" she asked, hoping he would be staying for quite a while.
"Just the weekend I'm afraid."
"Aw, I was hoping it would be for longer than that." Angela sounded disappointed as she looked across the table at him.
"I wish I could stay for longer too piccolo but work's been... difficult lately and I can't stay for too long. I will be back soon though."
"Good." She smiled at him before easting another mouthful of food.
"I fly home on Sunday night."
"Well tomorrow, I have something the two of us can do."
"What is it?" he asked.
"You'll have to just wait and see." she wiggled her eyebrows as she spoke.

They spent the next day at the beach together. Angela wasn't in work on the weekend so they left early. Despite that, the beach was already full of people. They set up their things and got in the water a couple of times. It was the middle of summer, and the sky was clear. The breeze helped cool the pair down but it wasn't enough. The scorching sun beamed down at them and everyone else on the beach.
They spent the day together and planned to go out for dinner when they arrived home at her apartment. Angela yawned once she closed the front door and dropped her bag to the floor.
"We can stay in tonight instead if you're tired Angie."
"No, I'm fine. I better go get ready though."
The two got ready and went out for dinner near where Angela lived. The place was full and extremely busy, considering it was a Saturday night. After dinner they took a walk along the pier.
"Sei bellissima." (You look beautiful) He whispered in her ear and placed a hand on her waist. They were standing at the end of the pier looking out at the sea. The sky had already began to darken and it was beginning to get cooler.
"I wish you didn't have to go tomorrow." Angela said, there was sadness in her voice Adriano could clearly detect. She hadn't yet looked at him and was still looking out at the water, listening to the soothing waves. She was trying to transport her mind and thoughts somewhere else because of this feeling in the pit of her stomach.
"So do I. But I promise I'll be back soon." He turned her around and kissed her on the lips.
"Promise?" she raised an eyebrow.
"Promise."
