Morgan sat at a small round table, picking at her french fries. Beside her Wolf sat in a chair with Iris perched on one leg eating a sandwich, Wolf was drinking a beer, his arm lazily thrown across the back of Morgans chair.

Across the room Demon was downing his third shot and still trying to get Lacy to answer his calls.

Ty was playing pool and checking his watch every two minutes, probably wondering where Zeke and Becky were.

Sky and Jennifer were playing cards at a nearby table and seeming to have a great time doing so. Sky was most likely letting his little sister win.

"How much longer will we be here?" Morgan asked.

"Anxious to be rid of me already?" he teased.

"No, it's just....close company is all."

"Hopefully not much longer, Ivan is working now to try and find the man responsible for shooting Iris. Once we catch him, everything will unravel for King."

She glanced at Iris who was eating her sandwich while watching everyone, taking it all in like a tiny little sponge. Every swear word, every dirty joke, every argument and insult. Her baby girl was drinking it all up.

"I'm just worried about Iris being around all this."

"My men are harmless, they'd rather die than ever harm a child. I promise you that,"

"I know but....she's just a baby."

"I know it's hard, I know this life isn't what you wanted for her and it can be rough but, this is where you belong. You won't ever be safer or better taken care of."

His phone rang before she could say anything else and he answered it.

"Yeah?"

He paused for a minute then motioned for Morgan to take Iris. Once Morgan had lifted the child safely off his lap he stood and walked to the bar, speaking in a low tone.

She watched him lean against the bar, he was a handsome man. She couldn't believe he was interested in her. He had long, strong legs that were encased in tight blue jeans, a strong, muscular back under his leather jacket and his blue eyes were so piercing and bright.

When he came back to the table he didn't look happy.

"Is something wrong?" She asked.

"King is in the wind," He said.

"What does that mean?"

"He ran, he shook is tail, he's gone. Our only hope of catching him is to catch the one he hired to shoot Iris and see what they know."

"Do you think they'll talk?" She asked.

"No, I don't."

"I thought you had people watching him."

"I did, he got away some how. Hell if I know how he did it." He began shoving various items in his pockets, clearly preparing to leave.

"You don't think that Lacy...."She trailed off.

"I don't know, I hope not."

She glanced at the bar where Demon was downing another shot and dialing a number, most likely Lacy's. When nobody answered his call he grabbed the empty shot glass and spiked it into the floor. Wolf glared at him and he started towards them.

"Woah!" Wolf grabbed the larger man and stopped him.

"I gotta go find Lacy, I have to see her."

"You have a responsibility to this club first, we're leaving in five minutes."

"I have to see her, I have to know she's alright."

"You walk out that door, you're no longer under patch protection. You go out there and get hurt without my okay to leave and we ain't bailing your sorry ass out."

Demon clenched his hand into a tight fist, for a minute Morgan worried he was going to strike Wolf. Then he took a deep breath and glanced at where she sat, clutching Iris.

"What if she's hurt?" Demon asked.

"What if she's not?" Wolf countered.

Demon paled, knowing what Wolf was hinting at.

"No, she wouldn't." He said.

"This situation with her and King has to be dealt with and when it does you need to be prepared for what we find."

"When this is handled, I want to talk to her. One on One."

"You'll get too, I promise."

Demon didn't relax any but gave a nod, Morgan prayed they were wrong about Lacy. She didn't want to think that her best friend was playing both sides. She didn't know what happened to bikers who turned on their family, but it couldn't be anything good.

"She has always been your second hand and nobody respects that more than I do," Wolf said.

Demon sighed as Ty, Sky and Jennifer approached. Wolf turned to the other men.

"We can't sit on this any longer, we're going after the asshole that dared shoot one of our own," He said.

"Zeke and Becky aren't back yet, I don't know what's going on." Ty said.

"We can call him from the road, if he comes here before he hears from us Morgan can fill him in."

"Okay," Ty agreed.

"Is anyone else concerned that they killed each other?" Sky asked.

"He was taking her to an interview with channel 9. It's across town, I'm sure they'll be home any time now." Ty said.

"We don't have time to wait, we're riding now." Wold said.

Ty and Demon both obediently headed for the door, Sky took a minute to hug Jennifer close, dropping a kiss on top of her head and promising her he'd be careful. Wolf turned to Morgan who suddenly felt awkward, their relationship was different now and she wasn't sure how different.

He lifted Iris from her lap and have the small girl a tight hug, she giggled and hugged him back completely comfortable with the large man. Seeing Iris hugging his neck and resting her small head on his broad shoulder melted Morgans heart.

She stood and before he could process what was about to happen stretched up to her tip toes and kissed him. When he realized she wanted a kiss he leaned down meeting her halfway and wrapping his free arm around her waste pulling her closer. He pulled away first after a long, slow, toe curling kiss.

"I think.....you've just entered into old lady status." He said softly.

She knew what that meant, it meant that it wasn't casual sex. That if she was planning on kissing him in the daylight and showing affection then she was his. She belonged to him in no uncertain terms, she'd warm his bed at night and sit by his side at functions, he'd keep her safe and provide for her.

"I think that's what I want," She admitted.

"I won't push you into anything you're not sure of," he promised, stroking her hair from her face with his free hand.

"I know."

He kissed her forehead and hesitated a minute longer before sitting Iris on the table.

"Be careful," Morgan asked not able to hide the fact she was worried about him.

"I'll be careful I promise and when I find the bastard, you'll be the first to know."

She gave a nod and he smiled at Iris one more time before walking out the door, Iris waved happily at him and Morgan sank into her chair. She was slowly beginning to admit to herself that she was in love with Wolf.

He hadn't left yet when Zeke strode through the door, Becky on his heels. The two were obviously at odds again and Ty trailed the fighting pair.

"Just sit you ass down and stay out of trouble for five damned minutes!" Zeke yelled.

"I wasn't in trouble!" She yelled back.

"You were really so desperate for a job you were going to sit there and let that pompous ass talk to you like a piece of meat?!"

"I could handle it!"

"You were going to handle something!" He snapped back.

"Hey! We have to go, you two can fight about this later," Ty interrupted.

"He's right," Becky said.

Zeke fell silent as Becky hugged Ty close, Ty lit up when she showed him any affection and if she noticed she didn't acknowledge it.

"Stay safe?" she asked when she pulled away from their tender hug.

"Always." Ty replied with a cheeky grin.

She smiled back and he tagged Zekes shoulder.

"I'll be there," Zeke said.

Ty jogged out the door and Becky turned to Zeke. He stood their awkwardly for a minute, his size made him completely dwarf the small girl and though they were close they were always slightly awkward, unless they were fighting.

She watched him a minute before taking the two steps needed to reach up and put her arms around his neck, it took a small hop on her part to get high enough to embrace him. As soon as her arms reached his neck his locked around her waste, holding her close with her feet dangling a few inches from the floor.

This was different than the way she held Ty, more personal, almost sacred in it's appearance. When he set her on her feet he kissed the back of her hand, they stared at each other for a moment.

"Please, stay safe." She said.

"I will."

"Zeke....."She started.

"I don't have time for this shit," He said suddenly cutting her off.

She looked hurt as he moved passed her and out the door without another word. If they weren't fighting Zeke didn't appear to know how to handle her. He only ever regarded her with distaste and anything close to affection made him harsh.

She turned to watch him leave and a second later the sounds of bikes could be heard roaring to life in the parking lot.

Jennifer bit her lip and stared at the door where Becky stood, eyes closed head bowed as if in silent prayer. Morgan held Iris close, her heart in her chest, hoping that Wolf would come home alive.

"Lord, keep them safe." Becky whispered softly.

"Amen," Jennifer said with a sigh.

Morgan closed her eyes, hoping they all came home safe, even Lacy.
