"What the hell were you fucking thinking?" Lorenzo yelled as he paced in front of the spot Elena was sitting.
"Lorenzo relax." Tony said as he tried to calm him before something he knew Lorenzo would regret could happen.
As Lorenzo began yelling, this time at Tony, Elena thought back to how she got into this situation that changed her life forever.
It all started four years ago right after Elena Russo turn seventeen and her parents decided to lay some big news on her a few days later. She was the daughter of Antonio Russo the head to one of the six crime families of Southern Florida. The Russo Mafia had the largest part of Miami but business took a hit for the last few years and the only way out of his mess was merging with another family or going through a hostile take over from outside the family or within the family and that would surely end his life and possibly his entire family's life also.
When the word got around that the Russo family was in trouble and willing to discuss merging with another family things became a bit hostile. The only way to merge was through wedlock and his eldest daughter was just a year from being allowed to wed. Seeing her age was too young three families backed out in hopes a deal wouldn't be made so things could sway towards them again. After meeting the eldest sons of the two remaining families Antonio felt it would be in his daughter's best interest and his family's best interest to come to terms with the Moretti Mafia.
Soon after sealing the deal with Michael Moretti Antonio told his wife Camila what had to happen. To say that she was outraged that he had basically sold his daughter for his own life was an understatement. Once he laid out the outcome of other options they had Camila knew she had no choice but to agree. They both knew Elena wouldn't agree as easily so they decided to not tell her until after she celebrated her birthday that year.
Elena came through the front door laughing with a couple of friends from school when she was stopped. "Elena we need to speak." Antonio said as he stood in the entry way of the living room waiting on her to arrive. "Alone." Elena had looked at him confused before turning towards her friends.
"I'll call you two later." She said with a forced smile and they knew better than to question anything so they just nodded and quickly left the mansion. She knew she had been doing great in school and her grades weren't a problem so she was worried about the seriousness on her father's face.
Michael wanted to meet the young lady set to marry his heir so Antonio knew he needed to tell her before they made plans, to give her time to adjust to what was asked of her. He gestured for her to sit and watched as she laid her bag down by the door and slowly walked to the sofa. She hesitated a moment when she saw her mother sitting in there along with her father's right hand man. When Rocco Conte was there she knew something was bad. Elena slowly walked to the sofa and sat down as Rocco moved to stand near her.
"Sweetheart I need you to hear me out before you say anything." He said as he stood near where his wife sat. Elena nodded her head as she glanced between the three of them but settling on looking at her mother the longest who had looked upset before looking back at her father. "The family has been in a bit of trouble. I cannot tell why or how but I need you to understand that you are the only one that can help us."
"How?" she asked looking between just Rocco and her dad this time.
"The family cannot stand alone and survive any longer." Antonio said as he ran his hands down his face. "Our family must merge with the Moretti family to keep safe because of this I had to arrange a marriage."
Realization quickly hit Elena and her eyes went wide as tears began to cloud her vision and her heart beated faster than it had even done before. "No." she said in a low voice as she shook her head.
Camila let out a muffled sob when she watched the horrified look on Elena's face. Antonio laid his hand on her shoulder to silence her. "Three months after your eighteenth birthday you will marry the Moretti heir."
"You can't do this to me." Elena said louder this time as she shook her head and allowed the tears to fall. "This isn't the old country... you can't force me to marry someone I don't know. I won't do it!"
"If you don't do this everyone in this room and your two sisters could die!" he snapped at her. "I can and will force you to do this!" he yelled causing both Elena and Camila to jump in fear. "You will marry that boy."
"Mom you can't let him do this to me." Elena said as she stood up on her feet only to have Rocco step in front of her, the tears continued to flow and she didn't bother to wipe them away. "Get out of my way!"
"Watch how you talk to me little one." Rocco glared down at her. "Sit back down." He said sternly as he placed his hand on her shoulder and applied enough pressure to lower her back to the sofa.
When Rocco stepped away from her again she looked over at her father with hatred clearly in her eyes. "You ruined this family and now you want to marry me off to save what you did."
"You will mind you tongue when speaking to me!" Antonio yelled at her. "You know your place in this family and you will do as you're told. The deal has been made and you will meet the Moretti family tomorrow evening." Elena sucked in a deep breath and tried hard to stop the tears as she nodded at him. "Leave us." He said sternly.
That had been the day everything had changed for Elena. When she met the Moretti family she felt intimidate by all of them. Michael spoke to her parents like she had not even been in the room with them. His son Lorenzo barely even glanced at her, he didn't look thrilled by this business deal either. Lorenzo had good reason to be upset about it considering he was three years older than Elena. Of course the promise of power with this marriage had him agreeing to go through with it.
Elena and Lorenzo only spoke to each other a few times during the year before they married. The first time they had gone out with no escort had given her some insight about what life with Lorenzo would be like. He had left Elena sitting at the table with a guard as he mingled with others, mostly woman. When he returned her back home his guard was the one that walked her to the door as he talked on his phone.
Their wedding night had been no different, once they left the reception Lorenzo escorted Elena to the penthouse they had for the next couple of evening. She had been nervous about that night considering their first kiss was at the alter and knew he would expect more when they were alone. He had given her a tour of the penthouse and Elena noticed he had not once loosened his bowtie. When he concluded the quick tour Lorenzo excused himself leaving her there alone not returning until dawn. The union between the two families was made knowledge to all that was necessary but Lorenzo continued to live as if he did not get married.
The last three years had been basically the same, Elena spent most of her time with guards while Lorenzo conduct business and other woman. The house they lived in had been filled with tension since day one and the two only talked when it was absolutely needed. The two didn't even share a room, he treated the whole marriage like business and she made it known that it wasn't her choice. Elena had only attended everything she was not given a choice about but mostly stood her distance from his life.
His possession over her didn't go unnoticed especially when he took over as head of the family when Michael stepped down. Lorenzo's men had strict orders to keep all men away from his wife and to eliminate any that didn't listen. They may not have been intimate or even friendly with each other but that didn't change the fact that she was off limits to any and all male counterparts.
That was what had caused her to be in her current situation, Elena had left the house without two very important things... a guard and her wedding bands. To make matters worse it was their third wedding anniversary. When she was finally located by Tony and a few of Lorenzo's men she had been drunk and leaving the bar with some random guy. Elena could barely stand on her own so Tony had the men handled the situation while he took her home. Once Lorenzo forced enough coffee down her throat and she was sober again he began laying into very loudly.
Elena was snapped out of her daze when Lorenzo yanked her to her feet by her arm then released her. Elena quickly noticed that Tony was no longer there and they were standing there alone. "Are you fucking listening?" he snapped at her as she focused in on him again, the menacing glare on his face scared her and her heart began racing but she was too stubborn to show it. "You're my fucking wife!"
"You're my husband but its ok for you to sleep with every damn tramp that prances in front of you."
"Act like my fucking wife and I wouldn't have to go elsewhere!"
"Act like my husband..." she started to say but was instantly cut off by Lorenzo.
"And!" he growled as he stepped closer to her and she took a step back almost tripping over the chair but maneuvered around it. When she placed it between them he quickly yanked it away and flung it across the room. "Have you slept with another man?!"
"No." Elena said shaking her head as the two continued to move, he went forward and she moved back.
When her back hit the wall Elena quickly braced her hands on his chest hoping he would stop and he did. "You're lying to me." He snapped. "Is this what you want?"
Lorenzo crashed his lips into hers... kissing Elena for the second time since they married. This time around the kiss was anything but gentle, in fact it was demanding and aggressive. She pushed against his chest and he quickly took a hold of her wrist and yanked them high above her head pinning them to the wall in one of his hands. Lorenzo felt the tension building in himself as he pushed his body against hers and held on tightly to her hip with his free hand.
He wanted her...
He wanted all of her...
Lorenzo was determined to have his wife right there and then, he waited three very long years to claim what rightfully belonged to him. This wasn't the way he wanted to do this but he was not going to wait any longer. She struggled against him trying to break free but her strength was no match to his own.
Lorenzo released her lips and began kissing and nipping his way down her neck. He squatted down to be leveled with her chest as he forced her legs to part with his own giving her no choice but to straddle his hips. With Elena now suspended between him and the wall Lorenzo released her hip as he sucked at the skin above the strapless black dress she had on. All of her protest and pleads fell on deaf ears because he had only been focusing on her body and nothing else.
When he hooked his fingers over the top of her dress and was about to yank down on it she began thrashing against him that was when he finally heard her words. "Lorenzo... please Lorenzo... don't..." she cried out.
"It's what you want!" he snapped as he released both of her wrists and her hands instantly went his shoulders.
"No, not like this." Elena said shaking her head as the tears fell and his hands went to her bare thighs lifting her higher as he stood straight. "Please let me go."
"No." he said pushing himself against her again.
"I never slept with a man." Elena quickly cried out and Lorenzo froze at the way she said never. "Please don't do this."
He sucked in a deep breath and slowly exhaled, repeating the process a few times before speaking to her. "Never?" he asked in a strained voice as he pulled back again to look her in the eyes. Elena nodded her head as she sniffled successfully making him feel like a shit bag for attacking her like that.
Lorenzo moved his hands from her thighs to her hips and pulled the both of them from the wall. Holding her gently he pulled her body from his and set her back down on her feet. "I'm so sorry." She said softly as he looked down at her.
"Put your rings on and never take them off again!" he growled at her and quickly walked out the room.
Elena walked over to the kitchen counter where he had placed her rings and just as she picked them up she heard Lorenzo scream fuck followed quickly by glass shattering then more. Elena gasped as she clutched her rings to her chest and watched as Tony and two other men came running in the house with guns drawn. Tony pointed over at her and one of the guys instantly went to her side as the other one followed Tony to find Lorenzo. The guy with Elena stood in front of her as he wildly looked around for any signs of trouble. She was too scared to say anything or move, she didn't know if there was trouble or not.
Moments later Tony came calmly walking back into the room she was in. "Rob everything is clear, go wait outside." Rob nodded his head as Tony looked over at Elena. "I'll escort you up to your room."
"Is everything ok... is Lorenzo ok?" she asked with a concerned voice that shocked both of them.
"Yes... Lorenzo wants you to go up to your room." When she went to take a step he placed a hand on her shoulder and stopped her. "Where are your rings?"
"Right here." Elena said pulling her clutched hand from her chest and opened it.
Tony looked down at her open hand and quickly noticed that the large diamond had dug deeply into her palm from how tight she held the rings. Shaking his head he placed his hand on her back and led Elena to the stairs blocking her view of the dining room. "I'll send some ice up."
"I can get it." She said turning to go back but he quickly stopped her and pushed softly towards the stairs.
"I have it." He said sternly and she nodded as she went up to her room.
Elena slowly lowered herself to sit on the edge of her bed, everything that happened that night was a lot to take in. She had drank so much while out with her old friends that if Tony didn't show who knows what would have happened. The fight with Lorenzo was something that was seared into her brain. It wasn't his words or the way he roughly handled her... it was his mouth. How it felt against her own lips, the way it moved along her skin leaving a burning sensation behind its trail. She had never felt that way before and her body was screaming for her to let it happen again.
She opened her fist once more revealing the wedding rings again just as she ran her finger over them she was startled. "Those are supposed to be back on your finger." Lorenzo said from the door and she quickly balled her fist shut and looked up at him in shock.
"I was just going to..." she began saying as she opened her hand to put them back on.
"Don't." Lorenzo said as he moved closer and she froze at his words. Her eyes followed his every movement until he stopped and held his hand out to her. "Let me." He said placing the small bag of ice he had down on the bed then picked the rings up from her palm. Flipping her left hand over Lorenzo slowly slid them back in place just like he done three years ago when he married her. He turned her hand back over and inspected the palm of it. "How did this happen?" he asked running his finger over the large indention that was now on her palm.
"When I heard the glass shatter I was scared and must have squeezed my hand closed too tightly."
"Hold this on there for a while." He said lifting the ice bag and placed it on her palm. "Get some rest."
"Are you ok?" she asked still concern with what had happened.
"Perfectly fine... go to sleep." He said walking to the door and closed it behind himself as he walked out to the hall and stopped when he saw Tony leaning on the wall across from her door waiting for him. "What?"
"What happened when I walked out?" Tony asked in a low voice.
"Are you questioning me about my personal life?" Lorenzo snapped at him.
"As your friend not your employee." Tony said sternly. "I knew something would happen."
"I was alone when I smashed everything in the dining room if that's what you're asking." Lorenzo snapped as he walked back down the stairs and over to the bar. "I no longer want Rob detailed to my wife, he let her slip away. Tonight could have turned out bad and I would have had to end his life." Lorenzo said as he poured himself a drink."
"Alright." Tony said nodding his head. "Who do you want me to send over?"
"Gino." Lorenzo said as he looked up to catch Tony shaking his head no. "Are you now telling me no?" he snapped at his oldest, closest friend. "I said I want fucking Gino detailed to my wife."
"Come on Lorenzo." Tony said shaking his head. "This will piss off Stefan, your dad has had Gino detailed to Stefan's wife for six years now."
"Who is the fucking boss here... ME or my cousin?" Lorenzo snapped at him. "Right behind you Gino is the best we have and my wife will have the best."
"I'll do it but first you have to tell me she didn't cheat on you." Tony said crossing his arms over his chest. "The family will not be happy if they find out she crossed you in anyway."
"She didn't." Lorenzo said looking up at him with a tired expression.
"How do you know?"
"Because she is a fucking virgin." Lorenzo snapped as he slammed his glass down on the bar.
"Fuck, Lorenzo." Tony said as he glanced around the room. "You haven't..."
"No and I don't want to talk about it."
"It's been three years and you haven't consummated your damn marriage yet." Tony said shaking his head. "You gotta do it."
"I can't after what I fucking did to her tonight." Lorenzo said walking away from him. "I'm going to bed, take the guys with you when you leave and send Gino here in the morning."
"You don't want protection tonight." Tony said in shock.
"No." Lorenzo said as he went up the stairs.
Tony didn't feel right leaving the boss unprotected even if it was for just one night. When he went outside he looked over at Rob and pointed at the car for him to get in. once Rob was in the car he looked over at Sal and told him to take the car and parked out view of the house but to make sure he had eyes on it. When he knew things were under control Tony headed out.
