The days that followed the attack were not easy on anyone that had to be within fifty feet of Elena. She was extremely pissed they were forcing her to move out of the house she had become accustom to living in and to top it off Lorenzo had not been home yet. When Elena asked to see him thinking he was still being watched over by the doctor the guys told her she couldn't. When three days turned into a week and that turned into a week and half she knew he was gone again despite the guys telling her otherwise.

The pattern was the same as if it were any other time and so were the response she had gotten when she asked about him...

He'll be home soon...

It'll be just a few days...

I talked with him earlier and he said he'll call you...

Every response she received was a lie, she knew it and the phone call from Lorenzo had never come.

The new house she was living in couldn't even be called a house it was huge and felt uninviting to her. Lorenzo's men moved about the house like they had been there many times before but this was the first time she had ever seen it or heard about it. It was in the back of a huge gated compound complete with its own private beach. She had seen so many new faces around her but all had seemed to know who she was.

Gino had taken her to the room that he said Lorenzo told him was hers when they first arrived. Elena had walked in the room slowly taking in the entire room in shock. There were huge windows with a beautiful view of the ocean and French doors that led out to a huge balcony that was shared with two other rooms she had yet to know what was in them. Her room had been decorated already but what shocked her most was that it had been exactly how she would have done it herself. The closest was almost the same size as the room but she was confused on why Lorenzo's things were taking up half the closest. It was big enough for the both of them but it was only accessible through her room.

Her first few days there Elena spent them trying to get a feel for the house she was told they now live in. Unlike the other house this one had a full staff and that seemed to be at every corner ready to serve her needs. Elena felt like she never had a moment alone when walking through it and most of the staff would scare the day lights out of her appearing out of thin air. After a week there she had gone about her life like nothing had changed other than her location. She did her best to take care of things on her own, having to shoo the staff away often. At the two-week mark of being there Elena laid next to the pool soaking in the sun with her sister Angel. Gino who was finally out of his sling sat near the house with Rob talking as they also enjoyed the easy going day.

"So why exactly did you move here?" Angel asked as she glanced over at the Gino and Rob then back at her sister. "It is beautiful and fucking huge but I thought Lorenzo had no plans of moving here anytime soon."

"You knew about this place?" Elena asked in shock as she turned her head to face her sister while lifting her sunglasses to the top of her head.

"Well... yeah." Angel said softly and Elena raised her eyebrow at her. "I was sworn to secrecy by Tony and Lorenzo, I wanted to tell you but they said I had to keep it quiet. Lorenzo wanted input on how to decorate the main bedroom and you wouldn't talk with any decorators on the other house so he knew you wouldn't on this on either."

"Oh." Elena said as she glanced over towards the guys and was shocked to see Lorenzo and Tony standing there with them talking.

The sight of Lorenzo always took her breath away, there was no denying that he was a gorgeous man that commanded the attention of all eyes when he was near. That was one of his flaws in Elena's eyes. She knew deep down he could and has had every woman he wanted even though everyone would deny it to her face. A man like him... the youth... the looks... the money... the power... has definitely not gone without sex for the last three years. Even though she wouldn't admit it to a living soul it bothered her knowing that he would never truly be hers alone.

Angel looked over towards the guys when she noticed Elena had tensed up. "Do you want me to go home?" Angel asked in a low voice as she looked between Lorenzo and her sister. "I know he's been gone awhile, maybe you guys want some alone time."

Elena had not told any of her family that life with Lorenzo wasn't what they thought and she didn't have any intention of doing it now either. "No." Elena said lowering her sunglasses and looked back towards the pool closing her eyes.

"Ok." Angel said hesitantly as she watched Lorenzo look over towards them, she gave him a small wave and he nodded his head.

Lorenzo had known he wasn't going to get a warm welcoming from Elena after being gone for so long again. The last time they saw each other didn't end on the best of terms either. He had intended to only be gone for a few days but that didn't happen like usual. Gino had informed him that she was pissed at him and had made being around her like they were walking on broken glass barefooted. When she didn't even acknowledge he was even there Lorenzo sucked in a deep breath as he began walking towards her.

Tony started to follow behind him but Lorenzo stopped him. "I need a few moments alone with her, have the higher ranks meet me in my office so we could discuss the changes I want."

"Alright... do me a favor?" Tony asked and Lorenzo raised an eyebrow at him. "Can you try to go easy on her if she snaps." Tony said as he nodded towards Elena and Lorenzo just smirked. "It's been a tough few weeks for her and it's bound to happen."

"I'll do the best I can." He said walking away.

When he was just a couple feet away Angel was the one to acknowledge his presence. "Hello Lorenzo, I'll give you two some privacy." She said as she stood up.

"There is no need for that." Elena said looking over at her sister.

Angel stood there confused on what to do, she didn't want to piss Lorenzo off but at the same she didn't want to piss her sister off either. "I'll appreciate it." Lorenzo said in a calm voice as he smiled at Angel and she nodded.

"I'm just going to go get a drink." Angel said quickly walking away before Elena could respond.

"What do you want now that you chased her away?" Elena asked as she looked back at the pool.

"Elena I didn't chase her away, I just wanted a few minutes alone with you." Lorenzo said as he stood there watching her but she didn't bother to face him. "Would you look at me." He said trying to control his temper and she slowly turned her head to face him. "Without the sunglasses."

Huffing out an irritated breath Elena lifted her glasses to the top of her head then forced her signature fake smile to her face. "Happy?"

"I'm not sure if you know this but most people would have a broken jaw by now if they spoke to me the way you do." Lorenzo said placing his hands in his trouser pockets as he watched the smile fade from her face. "I put up with it because I know you're in an impossible spot with the way you've been forced into this life but I will end up drawing a line one of these days."

"I'll try to control my attitude." She said in a low voice and he just nodded knowing that wasn't going to happen. "What can I help with you with?"

Lorenzo could hear the sarcasm in her voice but decided to let it go for now. "I wanted a few moments alone so I could see how you were doing."

"I'm doing just fine." Elena said as she stood up. "Glad to know that it only took you two whole weeks to even care."

Elena started to walk away but Lorenzo grabbed her arm stopping her. "I have always cared Elena." He said as they stood shoulder to shoulder with each other. His hold on her could barely be called a hold and she could have easily pulled away but didn't. "I knew you were safe and I had business to handle."

"You were shot three times Lorenzo; could you not take a few days to heal." She said trying to mask her concern with anger but he still noticed it.

"I am healing but I couldn't let these assholes think they got the best of me." Lorenzo said in a low voice. "I have a few things to handle with my men after that I want to talk with you." Elena nodded as he released her arm and he watched as she started to walk away. He stood there mesmerized by the sway of her hips but quickly snapped out of it when he realized her body was on full display to everyone there not just him. "Elena!"

"Yes?" she asked turning to face him and watched as he walked towards her while removing his suit coat.

"Put this on." He said holding his coat out to her, it took her a moment to take her eyes of the gun holster he wore that held two guns. "Here." He said snapping her from the slight daze she was in.

Her eyes snapped from the holster to his own quickly. "Why?" Elena asked as she took the coat and began sliding her arms through it.

Lorenzo moved closer to her as the coat covered her body. He reached up and held on to the lapels of his suit coat that she now wore. Holding them between his fingers he slid his hands down then back up. Elena's breath had hitched at the light touch that gave her a sensation she wasn't quite familiar with, this was the second time she had felt this way with him and her body was screaming for more.

Lorenzo worked hard to keep the smirk from forming on his face. He enjoyed knowing the effect he had on her and didn't want her to know what she did to him. Since the night of their anniversary when he felt what it was like to have her wrapped around him he has been going crazy with want. Whenever they were in the same area of each other he couldn't keep his eyes off her.

"Not everyone that walks through the mansion needs to know every curvy to your body." He said in a low husky voice and let the smirk finally spread across his face as her breathing picked up enough for him to notice. "I'm rather fond of the number of men I have and I prefer not to have to kill any of them because of roaming eyes."

"Lorenzo..." Elena said in a shocked voice and couldn't believe the smirk he had stood untouched on his face.

"You may see this marriage as just business between our families but you are still my wife and if any man ever thinks he even has an inkling of a shot with you..." Lorenzo said as he leaned in closer to whisper in her ear, the scent of coconut invading his nose. "I will kill him."

Lorenzo placed a small kiss to the side of her neck, just barely touching her neck with his lips. He couldn't resist himself, her scent and the innocence he knew she had caused his groin to twitch in a bit of excitement. Lorenzo knew he had to put some space between them quickly. He pulled back smirking down at Elena as she looked up at him with wide eyes. He released the lapels of the coat and walked away leaving her there staring at his retreating back.

Elena barely felt it but she knew his lips grazed her neck, while watching him go in the house she brought her hand up and lightly touched where his lips had been. He had woken something up deep inside of her the night of their anniversary. Elena wanted to feel his lips trailing kisses down her neck as his hands roamed her body. She wanted to know what it was like to have his full attention on her, to have him look at her the way he looked at the other women in his presence. Elena had no idea how long she stood there in her trance until Angel's voice broke through.

"Mrs. Dreamy are you there?" Angel sang to her sister as she bumped shoulders with her.

"Huh... what?" Elena said shaking her head clear and looked over at Angel.

"You have this look in your eyes." Angel said moving to stand in front of Elena. "Like you're falling in love with your husband again or is it lust."

"It's neither." Elena said pulling Lorenzo's coat closer to her body and discretely inhaled the scent of his cologne as she began walking back to the house. "I need a drink and you should be going before your father sends Rocco looking for you."

"I am twenty-one and he is your father also." Angel said following behind her sister.

"You maybe twenty-one but you still live in his house."

"Hopefully that changes very soon." Angel said with a smirk when Elena turned to look at with wide eyes.

"What are you keeping from me?"

"Nothing dear sister." Angel said walking faster and Elena tried to keep up with her. "Like you said, it's time for me to go."

"Angel..." Elena began to say but was cut off by one of the staff when she entered the house.

"Mrs. Moretti?" the maid said stepping in front of her.

Elena watched as Angel grabbed her bag and ran out the front door. "What do you want?" Elena snapped at her as she looked from the door to the maid who now looked nervous.

"I... I was..." she said stuttering over her words and Elena rolled her eyes. "I was sent to ask if you had any preference for dinner."

"I keep telling you people I don't care."

"Just tell Martin I trust his choice." Lorenzo said from the side of them and they both turned to look at him. "I also want dinner served no later than six."

"I will do so, sir." The maid said then looked over at Elena again. "Mrs. Moretti should I have your dinner sent up to your room?"

Before Elena could answer Lorenzo did. "No, she will be having dinner with the rest of us." Lorenzo said and the maid nodded while quickly walking away. "Elena can I have a word with you upstairs." He said nodding towards the stairs.

"Yes." She said following him up.

Lorenzo walked up the stairs and went straight for the room she had been staying and opened the door gesturing for her to enter first. Elena walked to the center of the room and stopped turning to face him as he came in closing the door behind him. He didn't venture further in wanting her to remain relaxed so they both could control their tempers. Elena stood there holding his coat closed around her body making her appear naked underneath even though he knew she wasn't.

"You need to go easy on the staff, they are here to make shit easy for you." Lorenzo said shaking his head at her.

"I don't need a staff... I actually like doing things for myself." Elena said shaking her head back at him as she walked towards the closet.

Lorenzo closed his eyes for a moment taking a calming deep breath before following her. When he walked in there Elena had removed his coat and laid it on one of the islands that lined the center of the room. Her back was to him and the skimpy black bathing suit bottom caught his attention instantly. He wanted so badly to go over and pull her back against his body but he fought the urge. Clearing his throat caused her to turn and she was a bit shock he had followed her in.

"This house is too large for you to maintain on your own and the staff has been doing it for years now." Lorenzo said as he walked over to his coat picked up. "It's like living in a palace."

"Your palace." Elena said grabbing her robe and slid it on.

"Ours... everything in this house is just as much yours as it is mine." Lorenzo said as he slid his arms into his coat and adjusted the collar. "You're my wife and the sooner you start to accept that the better things will get with us."

"I accepted that three years ago."

"Saying it doesn't make that statement true." He said walking back towards the door as his phone buzzed in his pocket. He knew the men were still waiting on him in his downstairs office. "Dinner will be at six don't make us wait for you."

Not wanting to fight anymore that day with him Elena made sure she was dressed and downstairs by six. When she walked into the dining room the table was surrounded by all of Lorenzo's high ranking men. The seat to his left was empty and he gestured for her to sit, the men had gone quiet as she walked to the seat. Tony noticed her glancing around nervously as she walked so he quickly started up a conversation to get the attention off her. When the food was served all the men talked about random things and Elena sat there quietly picking at the food on her plate.

"Why are you not eating?" Lorenzo asked in a low voice as he leaned towards her.

"I just feel a little weird being the only lady here." Elena said honestly and he chuckled.

"Sweetheart it won't always be this way but you should get used to it." He said smiling at her and Elena looked down at her plate. Lorenzo reached over placing two fingers under her chin and lift her head to look at him. "You need to eat, Martin already told me that you haven't been eating well in the last two weeks."

"Do you they tell you everything I do?" she asked trying to keep the anger out of her voice.

"Not everything, only what is important and your health is important to me." Lorenzo said dropping his hand back to the table. "Like I said earlier I care about you; I didn't just mean about your safety."

Elena nodded at him and slowly began eating as Lorenzo tuned back into the conversation Tony was having with the guys around him. After dinner was over all the men scattered around the compound and the few that didn't live there left for the night. Elena had gone to the library and relaxed in there reading until she had noticed that not a sound could be heard from anywhere. She closed her book placing it down on the table then stretched out her body as she got up to go to her room.

For the first time since arriving there Elena noticed the house was silent by nine o'clock. She walked upstairs to her room and not a single person bothered her on her way up. With a small smile to her face she walked straight through her room to the balcony. Glancing around she noticed the grounds of the compound were just as quiet as the house. After standing there enjoying the peace and quiet Elena walked over to the sofa that was out there and sat down.

When the door to her right opened Elena quickly looked over to see Lorenzo coming out to the balcony with two drinks in his hands. His tie was no longer around his neck and the top few buttons of his shirt hung open giving of just a hint of his chest. Lorenzo's hair had been a bit disheveled but it looked good on him. Elena was broken from her lust filled daze when he spoke.

"Is it alright if I join you?" he asked as he walked over and held one of the drinks out to her.

"Of course." Elena said softly as she accepted the drink and he sat down.

"I needed a night without chaos." He said sitting back and closed his eyes. "This place is always busy."

Elena glanced over at him and noticed the peaceful look on his relaxed face. "I was wondering why it was so quiet."

"I suggested everyone stayed out of sight if they ever wanted to see the sun rise again." He said rolling his head to the side and opened his eyes to look at her.

"I've noticed that you already had clothes here." Elena said and he just nodded his head. "How long have you been living here?"

"Elena I have always lived with you, when my nights ran long with business I would stay a night here but I have never lived here."

"Can you be honest with me?" she asked and he nodded his head. "I'm not trying to start a fight with you, I just need to know the truth."

"Ok." He said hesitantly as he sat forward and finished off the drink he had knowing he was going to need it.

"Have you ever had another woman here?" she asked in a low voice.

"No." he answered quickly. "Since we are being honest with each other can I ask something personal?" he asked and waited while she thought over her answer. When she nodded her head he smiled softly. "Before we got married did you ever have any boyfriends?"

"Yes." She said nodding her head. "I had dated one guy from school my freshman year..." she trailed off on her answer and Lorenzo raised his eyebrow.

"Just one guy?"

"No, there was another." She said then took a quick drink before continuing. "I was dating someone that worked for my dad when I was told about my fate. It was serious and he had planned on asking my dad for permission to marry me but it was too late. Antonio had already closed the deal with your father."

Lorenzo did his best to hide the anger he felt slowly rising. "The guy never tried to fuck you?" he asked and she quickly looked at him with a raised eyebrow. "Ok let me word that better... he never tried to have sex with you?"

"No... he respected the fact that I wanted to wait until I was married." Elena glanced down at her watch then looked back up at Lorenzo as she placed her drink down on the table. "Thank you for the drink. I should get to bed now."

"Goodnight Elena." He said with a smile and she nodded then walked back into her room. Lorenzo sat there looking out at the ocean taking deep breaths to calm his anger. Once it no longer worked he pulled his phone out and scrolled to Tony's number.

"What's up Lorenzo?" Tony said as he walked to his window and glanced out to make sure it was still silent on the grounds.

"I need a name on one of the men within Russo's ranks."

"Ok." Tony said in a confused voice. "I'm going to need a little more to go on if you need a specific name."

"Find out who the man is that my wife had dated prior to us getting married."

"Whoa... are you telling me that Elena was dating a man in Russo's ranks?"

"Exactly what I'm telling you and I want to know who the fuck he is." Lorenzo snapped into the phone. "I want a name by morning."

"That may take some time." Tony said shaking his head. "That shit has to be buried deep if we are just now finding out about this... wait how did you find out?"

"Elena told me." Lorenzo said as he glanced back at her room door and watched as the light went out. "Get me a name soon." Lorenzo hung up not waiting for a response.
