Hesitantly, Angus raised a piece of bread to his lips. He'd never eaten this bread before, and he wasn't sure how he felt about a thin layer of butter on top for flavor. Evelyn watched him, an excited glint in her eyes which made him take a bite. The soft bread tore into his mouth and he was shocked from the flavor. He couldn't describe the amazing flavor of the bread however he didn't like the butter.

"Ah, butter not good." He said, still chewing his food. Evelyn nodded at him and handed him a piece of bread with no butter on it. He ate that one happily while Evelyn placed his off to the side of the tray. Next they tried pasta with a simple tomato sauce on it and it took Angus a while to warm up to the taste. It was strange, it tasted so different to what he ate his whole life and being honest he didn't overly enjoy it. His berries and fruits had a mass of flavor and tasted real when this in a way tasted fake, unnatural. When they got around to desert, Angus stared at the piece of chocolate cake.

It looked a whole lot like mud.

But it tasted entirely different. The flavor was magnificent, the chocolate flavor bursting on his tongue captivated that something could taste as good as this that he moaned out without even realizing the sound came from him. Not even a minute later he was finished, licking his fingers and looking Evelyn in the eye ready to ask if there was anything else.

Evelyn couldn't help but flush as her body lit up, the moan from Gus mixed with the sensual way he was licking his fingers made a shiver run down her spine. She forgot everything for a moment and watched his pink lips move as he asked her a question, her eyes locked on them.

"Evy? Evy?" He asked snapping her out of it.

"What? Huh, sorry Gus." She flushed, caught.

"More, uh. Any more cake?" Evelyn nodded her head and grabbed the last slice from the tray and handed it to him. She couldn't help but stare as he ate his cake, his full lips so entrancing and his eyes playfully met hers when he caught her looking. He couldn't help but wonder if she had the feeling to put her lips on his, just like he had before.

By the time Evelyn finished her one slice, Gus finished off his second one. It was so heavenly the cake, however he felt sick now. It was too rich and too much in too little time and he flopped backward on the floor, groan escaping his lips as his hand rested on his belly as though that would take away the discomfort.

"You ate too much cake, Gus." Evelyn laughed at his rookie mistake. The cake was amazing but it was so rich that you couldn't eat tonnes of it, just like Gus had discovered the hard way.

"iknwo." He mumbled in response. Evelyn crawled over closer to him holding up a water bottle and offering him some water. He accepted gratefully and only drank a small bit, knowing how rare clean water is to find.

"You're not thirsty?" Evelyn asked as she skulled most of her water.

"Not lots water. Hard to find." He said, wondering how she was using so much so freely.

"Don't worry Gus, we brang heaps with us. Have as much as you want." Evelyn said with a smile.

Gus loved it when she smiled.

As Angus lay on the mattress, he lay on his back like a starfish, eyes closed and breathing deeply. He's asleep, Evelyn thought, a bit of disappointment running through her. She was hoping they could stay up for a while, talk about nothing or maybe even snuggle for a while but she know she was pushing it. He was used to being alone, he probably didn't want to spend every minute with her. A pile of blankets and pillows were collected before and placed on the ground, enough to make a soft surface but not as good as her mattress would feel.

Sighing, Evelyn took one last admiring gaze at Gus's large sleeping form that looked a bit large on her mattress and started making a bed on the floor for herself. She was always going to sleep down here and give Gus the comfort of her bed but she was disappointed he wasn't awake to put up much of a fight. There would be playful banter on who was on the floor, she was sure of it what would result in staying up late together but now he was sleeping, tired and exhausted.

"Evy?" His husky voice mumbled as he woke from the shuffling of the blankets. He pushed himself up so he was lying but supported by his arms. His tanned, muscular torso was on full display and Evelyn couldn't help but swoon. He was honestly beautiful.

"What you doing?" His sleep filled voice was husky and a bit hard to understand.

"Uh, setting up my bed." She replied, lost in his eyes.

"No, no, no." He shook his head no and moved over to one side of the bed, opening up a spot for her like before. He pet the mattress and was praying to the women above she would come lay next to him.

She flushed but his prayer must have worked as she shyly walked over and climbed in next to him. He didn't hesitate to reach out and pull her into his body, his arms snaking around her waist and his head burying into her neck. Angus was oblivious to the intimacy of this but Evelyn wasn't. She tensed slightly but eventually relaxed into his warm embrace.

"You like I'm?" Gus asked quietly.

"Me," Evelyn corrected quietly.

"Me." He repeated showing her understood.

"Of course I do Gus." Evelyn smiled as her head rested on the pillow her eyes closed as she sighed in content. "And do you like me?" She teased, poking him in the hip.

"Yes. Very much." She could feel Gus nodding his head.

"That makes me very happy." Evelyn told him, her voice dropping into a whisper as she lifted a hand to play with his long hair. It was slightly greasy today but she couldn't care less. Gus sighed and Evelyn felt the deep rise and fall of his shoulders as he fell even more into her. She laughed slightly, his weight a bit more then she could handle.

"Hey, Gus. You're kind of squishing me." She laughed. Reluctantly, Gus backed off and let of his weight, this time lying on his side so he was facing Evelyn. Her hand stayed playing with his hair, and for hours and hours they talked.

Most of it was Evelyn trying to improve his English slightly and by the end, he had improved hugely as he managed to pick up on forgotten knowledge. It was amazing how quickly he picked up again on the language he hadn't spoken in ages. Evelyn yawned, and Gus followed a second later before they were both laughing at each other.

Never had Evelyn felt so content around another male, and never had Angus felt so alive and not alone.

"Sleep now?" Gus murmured as his eyes felt droopy. Evelyn mumbled a yes as their eyes locked and they just stared at each other.

Evelyn felt the urge to kiss him, to feel the fireworks she was desperately wanting to but the only thing holding her back was the fact she had only known him for two days. That was all, 48 hours and she was already more captivated by him than any boyfriend she's had in the past. 48 hours and she knew her fascination wasn't from the fact he was out in the wild like a science project to discover, however fascinated by the man he is, the one who tired his hardest to please, converse and learn from her.

Angus felt the urge to put his lips on hers again. The feeling he could push away last time but with Evelyn glancing down and staring at his lips made his self-control very thin. He found himself leaning in, very slowly but he also noticed his Evy not pulling back. Until his lips softly brushed up against hers.

Gus didn't know what to do now, he just knew he didn't want it to stop. Evelyn took charge and pressed her lips a bit harder against his and Gus just copied her actions. The butterflies exploded in both of them and Angus head spun wild of emotion and bliss. His hand rested on her waist, pulling her in closer to him as their lisp gently moved on one another. What made it even better was the fact that Evelyn seemed to be enjoying this as much as him.

It was to soon when they pulled away, completely out of breath and Evelyn couldn't help but swoon at his flushed cheeks. An uncontrollable smile broke out onto his face and Evelyn shyly smiled up at him.

"Good night, Gus." She murmured, closing her eyes and sinking into Gus body as he pulled her in flush with his body with grin on his face he just couldn't wipe off.

Angus' new favorite thing about life was sleeping on a mattress, with Evelyn wrapped around his body and waking by the sound of his jungle and the beginning of the day's sun peeping underneath the tent. Just like the last time, Gus had never been so pleased to wake up but didn't feel the urge to get off the mattress and begin his day of survival. Instead he wanted to stay right here all day, just like this with Evelyn clinging onto him as she slept.

Her hair was pulled back into something she called a braid leaving her face on clear display with her black curls pulled back. Her face was tanned, hinting a small burn with an array of freckles littered all over her face. He couldn't help himself. He leaned down and gently pressed his lips to hers, pulling back and hoping he didn't wake her up. His heart beat quickly but she showed no signs of stirring and he let out a small sigh of relief.

Half an hour after, Evelyn woke. She peeled her eyes open and was greeted with an eyeful of tanned chest and she couldn't help but smile.

"Ghmornign." Angus greeted her, his husky voice, however slightly hard to understand, sounded like music to her ears.

"Good morning, pretty." She mumbled. Instinct took over and she kissed his bare chest where her lips where in line with in a lazy morning greeting. She froze at her actions, her eyes wide.

Completely inappropriate, she scolded herself. Contain yourself Evelyn.

"Time to get up," she mumbled, more to herself then to Gus. Gus stayed silent, watching on as why she seemed a bit tense after she kissed his chest. He hoped it wasn't something he did wrong. Maybe she felt him this morning while she was sleeping. What if she was mad about that? What if what they did last night wasn't normal? But she smiled after so she must have liked it.

"Argh." He mumbled, a hand dragging through his hair in frustration. He pushed himself up, careful not to knock Evelyn off. She watched confused to his change of mood, slightly cautious. Her hand rose from under the blanket and placed it on his thigh, the hair on his leg tickling under her fingertips as a shiver ran down his spine. A small fraying thread brushed Evelyn knuckle and she made a mental note to get him a new pair of pants from one of the men on the camp.

"Gus, talk to me." She said concerned, looking up at him. "Are you okay?"

He looked down at her, his eyes conflicted as he searched her face. He was beyond confused. Last night she was happy, this morning she was happy then she kissed his chest and it looked like she wanted to get away from him but now she was concerned for him? It was all too much and from his lack of social interaction he didn't know what was wrong.

"Evy, still like me, yes?" He asked, his voice husky from hot having spoken too much today.

"Yes, yes of course Gus." Evelyn now pushed herself up so she was sitting cross legged next to Angus. If he wasn't upset by something Evelyn would have laughed at how ridiculous this would have looked with almost no space left on the bed.

Her thumb, still resting on his thigh, began rubbing small lines up and down for comfort and reassurance.

His conflicted eyes brightened a bit from her answer and next thing she knew, Angus reached out and pulled her body into his as he hugged her tightly, never wanting to let go.
