Filler, slightly boring.
"Dad!" Evelyn hissed, eventually finding her dad in his tent. His small slightly hunched frame was bent over his desk, organizing the loose white paper with notes and results on them and packing up his spare test tubes and beakers into a black box with padding.
"Yes, Evie. What can I do for you? I'm really busy at the moment." The old man said however he turned and faced her, secretly glad he could stop organizing for a moment. "Before we leave I need to pack everything up and make lists on last minute samples we need. I need to contact the boat and make sure it gets here on time, we need to move everything down to the beach shore so we can pack tomorrow morning, and all of this needs to be done before light disappears." Even through the stress and frenzy of this, the bubbly man had rosy cheeks and was smiling.
"Yeah, lots to do dad." Evelyn said quickly wanting to share the news of Angus coming home with them. "Guess what?" She asked excitedly but bit her tongue when Brad started talking again.
"Have you got all of your findings Evie? I know how much you've gathered over these two weeks." He asked. Evelyn faulted for a second, her mind flashing back to her backpack containing her camera and journal lying on the floor somewhere around Angus home.
"Shit, uh no. I dropped it from the incident but Gus and I will go back and get it later if he's up to it." She answered, frustrations lowly growing in her as her dad was in such a good mood, just chatting away happily. All Evelyn wanted to do was quickly tell him Gus was coming home with them and start discussing details. He's sleeping now, he dosed off about ten minutes ago and she knew he would be sleeping for a while so she decided now was the best time to talk to her dad.
"Ahh, yes. Young Angus. How's he recovering? I heard he had quite the injury but he's getting better now?"
"He's fine. Obviously the hip cut is quite deep but he's rested and rehydrated now so he's feeling much better." A small smile appeared on her face as she talked about him and Brad couldn't help but smile at what he described as young love.
He returned the small smile. "That's good."
"It is." Evelyn nodded her head unable to hold back the smile. "It really is. And you know what's even better?" She asked. He saw the light growing in her eyes and he assumed Angus caved in to returning home with them. It was inevitable really. The love and infatuation or each other would be hard to distance themselves from, but also the fact that now he had experienced human interaction it would be hard to go back to being all alone for the rest of his life. It would be miserable, actually. Brad wished he had taken a psychology course so he could understand the bond between the two in more depth.
"Angus is coming home with us!" She squeaked in excitement. Her whole life Evelyn had been more of a tom boy and seeing her squeak like an over excited typical girl was amusing to him.
"That's great Evie. I knew he would." Brad beamed. "He can use my parent's money for settling in. Let's be realistic, we never will and they'd be more than happy to find out that their money is going towards a positive change in someone's life. I've been talking to your mom and she's more than happy to handle the legal side of this so you guys won't have much to worry about."
"Thank you so much dad." Evelyn said, her voice quiet and laced with emotion as she walked forwards and quickly hugged her dad. The man chuckled and held his daughter for a second before releasing her.
"No, thank you my dear Evie." He said with a jolly laugh. They sat down together and started talking about some basics they would need to do; registering him as an official Australian citizen (which Brad assumed they will go through the process the same as those changing countries). He would need some a type of physical check, a medical check that must be a proper one and an education of some type. He knew sending Angus to school was a silly idea as he looked to be just under thirty years old.
Angus would also need to talk to a therapist and a psychologist to relearn the basics. Encouraging Angus to adapt to these circumstances may be a bit difficult however if Evelyn told him about it, Angus would willingly do them for her. He just hoped that it all went as smoothly as he prayed for it to be.

Angus woke from his sleep dazed and confused. It was a deep sleep but he felt more energized now. He didn't feel drained or sleepy, instead he felt normal with a small pain in his hip from the slashes. He could deal with that after all, before the expedition appeared on his island he had dealt with injuries like this all the time and all alone. His hand lazily reached to the side in search of the little body he loved to hold but drew a blank. Where she had lay as he drifted off to sleep was now cold and unoccupied.
He sat up, his eyes still groggy from sleep, but he was now fully alert. It made him uncomfortable not knowing where she was, especially after what happened with the marozi. He got up from bed in his usual attire, shorts and no shirt and walked from the tent determinately. His goal was to find her and he wouldn't stop until he did. The men from camp knew not to talk to him when he needed to do something, but the guys he grew close too tried talking to him.
"Angus." Mike called. He was standing with that stupid Tyler. "Feeling alright man?" Mike's large hand slapped down on his shoulder, the one opposite the cuts and connected with his skin with a loud smack. It sounded more painful than it felt so Angus didn't flinch, he only blinked.
Mike wanted to laugh at him. He was so clueless when he had his mind set one something. His tall frame was tanned and he appeared more powerful since he first came. Mike knew of Angus' guilty pleasure of chocolate cake and nobody stopped him from eating it after being deprived of it forever. Instead of being muscle and bone he now looked fit and healthy. Tyler stood observing, slightly jealous of his physique that looked natural instead of his body you could tell was built in the gym.
"Evy, where is she?" Angus' tone was hard and slightly worried so Tyler and Mike knew not to joke right now. Evelyn had explained how Angus risked himself for her, all although it was stupid of him to do so, it showed how much he cared and valued her.
"She's in with her dad." Mike nodded his head towards Brad's tent. "She has been the whole time."
"Thanks." Angus muttered, remembering his manners Evelyn constantly reminded him of, before turning on his heel and walking to the tent. The closer he got, the more he relaxed until he stood at the door. The tent flap was closed. He could hear her soft melodic voice mumbled from the outside and he smiled.
His Evy was okay.
He reached out, moving the flap away so he could enter. He smiled awkwardly as Brad's eyes snapped over him, a bright smile on the old man's face. Angus couldn't get over how small he was.
"Angus." Evelyn said, her voice snapping his vision to her. He smiled as she did and walked over to her. She stood from her chair and he hugged her, feeling slightly possessive of his Evy not being there when he woke up. Especially after how she took him into another world by her soft touches. Why would she just leave him after that?
"I was talking to dad about arrangement for you coming home. If you still want to that is, I mean if you've changed your mind that's good." She said, before her face froze in shock. "Shit, I meant that's good as in its good you're doing what you feel is right for you, not that's good as in I'm happy you're not coming home with me. Of course I want you to come back with us, I really want you to but if you change your mind I won't be upset." She closed her eyes cursing internally about how stupid that sounded. "I mean I will be upset if you don't come back but I mean I'll understand your decision and," her ramble stopped when the small chuckle of Angus echoed in the tent.
He loved watching her become like this; talkative. Whenever she did she would just talk and talk and talk, nothing would shut her up. Her cheeks would heat up and she would be too shy to look him in the eye which always ended up in him hugging her to make her feel comfortable because he wasn't the best with his words.
And he did that. He chuckled as he pulled her small body into his, her soft body pressing into his own as her hands rested on her shoulders. It took a moment before her arms rose behind his back and loosely returned the hug. He could only imagine her burying her face into his chest, her cheeks heating up pink in embarrassment.
"I haven't changed mind." He said, his voice still raspy from waking up.
Angus felt her arms tighten around his torso as Evelyn mumbled a 'good' into the skin of his chest.

Evelyn watched in fascination as she followed Angus through the jungle, retracing their steps towards where her bag had been left from the incident with the marozi. Even though injured slightly, Evelyn noticed that Angus was still moving with ease through his home, gracefully jumping over tree stumps and pushing his way through vines and leaves that had fallen in his path. His muscled back was staring right at her, the tanned skin straining as his muscles contracted and tensed under his skin. They were only 10 minutes into the twenty minute journey and only now after Evelyn fussing over Gus hurting his wounds did he let go of her hand.
She also noticed that Angus was a bit withdrawn from her and she knew exactly why. He was leaving his home, where he spend lots of his life and it may be the last time he's ever here. Evelyn gave him space and didn't push him assuming it would be hard moving away from the only place he called home.
She hadn't realized but she had stopped walking to just stand and admire him. It looked like some make believe, photo-shoot as he stood tall and proud on a fallen tree log. The small breeze was making his dirty hair flow behind him and he looked in his domain. He looked comfortable, like the king and that nothing could defeat him. She felt saddened slightly, knowing that even though she was willingly coming home with her, she was still taking him away from his home.
"Evy coming?" He asked, his voice snapping her from her trance. He spun his head around and grinned at her, extending his hand for her to take in aid of her to climb onto the trunk. Evelyn found it cute, Angus did it so he knew she was safe.
"Of course." She replied back, a shy smile on her face. Her small hand clasped in his larger one and Angus couldn't help himself. From pure content and joy, he leaned down and pressed his lips to hers.
