Angus was nervous. His palms felt slightly sweaty as his name was called out, a women appeared at the door with an overly happy smile on her face. Her blonde hair was cut short in a bob, dropping straight like a pin to just above her shoulders, her brown eyes not recuperating the smile her thin, painted bright red lips gave off. She was old though, or at least in his eyes. Her skin was tanned and wrinkly, making her appear to be similar age to Evy's mother.

"Angus, it's a pleasure to finally meet you." She greeted the man as he neared her door that she held open with her thin arm. "Please, come on in and take a seat. Make yourself comfortable."

Angus stepped inside cautiously, wishing that his Evy was here with him. He wanted nothing more than for her to be here and guide him through this, teach him what to do but unfortunately, she wasn't. And it was this lady's job to teach him. Evelyn wasn't allowed into the private sessions and even though she had dropped him off not too long ago, he was already craving her presence and her touch.

As he reached a chair in front of a large wooden desk, he bent to sit down, watching the lady in front of him and taking in every detail of her. Before he was even seated, she started taking again.

"I'm Doctor Jones, Loretta Jones." She sat herself down on her puffy black desk chair. "As you know, I'm your speech therapist but will also be acting as your psychiatrist to treat any mental malfunctions, disorders or traumatic experiences from living on your, um, island." She looked at Angus expectantly, waiting for an answer in words but all she got was a nod of her his, a very minor movement at that. She forced a polite smile on her face, already assessing him and his interaction with other people.

"Now, Angus. After we finish out the last of the paperwork," Angus mentally groaned. He hated paperwork, not that he understood it, but it took up a lot of Evelyn's time and he didn't want to waste any more time than necessary.

"We can begin this by just sitting and having a conversation with one another, or we can begin the educational stage in teaching you the basics of numerical and literacy." Doctor Jones gave Angus the options. She watched as he raised his eyebrows slightly, giving her a passive which she recognized as clueless.

With a small smile, this moment reminded her on why she loved her job. Helping the dumb and naive become a part of society. Although she had been at her job for the past fourteen years, never had she come across a patient like Angus and she was keen to start and begin to explore his mind and the development he had made over his lifespan. She may be forty three, but she knew a special person when she saw one, and when she looked at Angus, he screamed potential.

"What have you got there?" Evelyn asked Angus as he opened the passenger side of the car. His tall body folded to sit in her car that was parked in the parking lot in front of the building Angus had just spent two hours in. Her heart fluttered at the breath taking, beautiful smile he gave her. In the most adorable manner, Angus bit his lip and reached inside the white paper bag and brang out a book.

"She said to read. This." Angus said, holding the book out for Evelyn to take and have a quick look at. "That tonight, another different nights. Until Gus go back." He said, distaste on his tone as he mentioned going back to the room.

Evelyn noticed the distaste and smiled to herself, laughing how Angus was repulsed by education after only two hours, whereas her and many other kids went to school for thirteen years of their lives. Not including university. The small book in her hand was green, and a nonfiction book. The literacy level was quite low as it just listed pictures and words of numbers, letters, colors, objects, animals, pretty much every daily object.

Although the book was simple, Angus didn't know how to read or write and she noticed some sticky tabs on the book, probably indicating homework of some type. Her heart swelled slightly at the thought of Angus learning everything and adapting to society, it was a sign that him learning was another step closer to him becoming civilized and she was excited for him.

"Did you enjoy it?" Evelyn asked him, handing the book back to Angus. She laughed as his face scrunched up.

"It hard." He said. "It's." he corrected himself a second later.

"Just remember that this will take time Gus, and if you ever need help I'm here for you." Evelyn smiled over at him. His brown orbs softened at her words and he reached out his long arm and caught her fingers in his.

"Evy too good for me." He smiled at him, and Evelyn blushed, her heart hammering in her chest. It was simple, sweet words like this that Angus casually said to her that made her feel as though she was on cloud nine, as though she was falling in love with him.

With a blush, Evelyn turned the key in the ignition and the car sprang to life.

"Three thirty." She heard Angus speak.

"What Gus?" She asked, frowning her eyes as she reversed from the parking space.

"The time, three thirty."

Quickly, Evelyn glanced at the digital clock on the top of her dashboard and saw in fact, that the time was three thirty.

"Three thirty one." Angus corrected himself as the time ticked over.

Evelyn stopped the car once she was out of her parking space and turned to look at him. He was passive at the moment, but Evelyn was shocked.

"You learnt how to tell the time that quickly?" She asked. "You were in there for two hours."

Evelyn couldn't wrap her head around the fact that Angus had so quickly picked up learning how to tell the time. It took children tonnes of time to learn but here Gus picked up within the space of a few hours.

"Only that type." Angus pointed to the digital clock. "Not one with sticks." His nose scrunched up when he referred to the analogue clock Loretta tried making him read. That was way too confusing for him to warp his mind around.

A loud, impatient car beeped them from behind and only then did Evelyn remember that she was stopped in the middle of the parking lot. She looked in her rear view mirror to see an older lady with a blonde bob in an expensive looking black car behind her, scowling at her parked vehicle.

With a rushed wave in the back mirror to the women apologizing, Evelyn quickly moved the car back into drive and left the parking lot. "I've gotta keep an eye on you, before we know it you'll be a genius." She was only joking, but she thought there was a huge possibility of that happening.

Instead of a laugh in return, Angus huffed, slightly annoyed that someone would pass such an aggressive action towards his Evy. He couldn't see anything wrong that she had done yet they had blasted that annoying sound at her making Evelyn flustered as she hurried to leave. He knew not to get angry so he stayed in his seat looking ahead with a scowl.

"Hey, don't get pissed off." Evelyn chuckled. "Road rage is a thing, you kind of get used to it." She reached her hand across and lightly grabbed the balled dup fist closest to her. Angus hated the idea of Evelyn getting used to the fact people act aggressive and impatient towards her in such stupid conditions but he failed to realize that it happens to everything and it's just a part of driving. She flipped on the indicator and went to pull out and the black car pulled next to her turning the opposite direction.

With one last ugly scowl, the lady sped off and into the traffic making Evelyn laugh at her impatience's, and eventually Gus joined in too.

"That's a total of $15.25." The girl read out to her from the till. Evelyn smiled and handed over a $20 bill and picked up the bag with two water bottles, a punnet of raspberries, blueberries and a chocolate bar that was on sale for $1. It was a twin pack, how could she pass up the opportunity?

"$4.25 change and a copy of the receipt is in the bag. Have a good day."

Back outside in the sunshine, Evelyn hurried along back to the park where she and Angus were kicking the football again. Already they had been playing for an hour but the desire for food and water overcome them. So as Evelyn headed off to grab some energy food, Angus headed off to the bathroom with the goal of meeting again in 15 minutes. Angus felt reluctant to let her go by herself, however after a minute of arguing and his desperate need to pee, he gave in.

Ever since their special night a few days ago, Angus felt even more of a connection between himself and Evelyn. He wanted to be closer, he was more protective and he constantly craved having her. At first, Angus didn't know what to do with the unknown emotions, however he had learn to love them because he knew Evelyn felt the same way. The bond between the two increased and strengthened where it got the point that the both of them always had to be near each other. Both were equally infatuated with one another, and both of them loved it.

The sun was shining down and Evelyn was nearing the park. The city smell was finally starting to dissipate as the cleaner, green air started overpowering the pollution and gasses of the busy city.

"Evelyn? Evelyn Miller?" Evelyn snapped her head around and saw chasing after her was a man, dressed in a suit fitted suit. His short, sturdy frame had black hair swept backwards neatly as he ran with a microphone. A camera women was trailing just behind him.

"Yes?" Evelyn asked skeptically. She was on alert as she stopped walking in the middle of the footpath, watching cautiously as the man closed the distance. Immediately, the cameras red light turned green and the women steadied herself and started filming the interaction between the two.

"Sorry for bothering you, but we believe that your close to Angus, the man found in the wild on the expedition?" Evelyn felt shocked that strangers were talking to her, that with a camera and a microphone. The mention of Gus steadied her awareness slightly.

"Yes, is he okay?" She asked. Her heart was beating rapidly.

"Yes, Angus is fine. So tell me exclusively for nine news, what was it like meeting him? How did it happen?"

"Uh, it was fun." She frowned, cursing herself for such a ridiculous answer. She wondered how the news had found about Angus and felt the desire to go to him, make sure he was okay and not make a fool of herself. "Look, sorry but I need to get back now." Evelyn had no clue what to do, however she knew that attracting attention on Angus would only make it harder for him to adapt to life in civilization. She wanted to go back to him and then just go home. It was obvious that sometime in the news it would pop up, however the expedition and associates made it clear to keep Angus' arrival and adaption a secret until he was ready to go public about his life, or even if he ever wanted to.

Evelyn couldn't be more thankful that the park opening was just in front of her. She ignored the questions about their relationship with one another, sending apologetic smiles their way every time she avoided a question. She saw Angus standing in a stiff stance, another camera pointed at him and a female reporter holding a microphone to his face.

His body language was tense and he looked uncomfortable. She broke into a jog and when he saw her nearing, he stiffly smiled at the lady mid question and left her, meeting Evelyn half way.

"Who is that?" He asked, confused on who these strangers are. The stick shoved in his face and the massive box like contraption on the man shoulder was nerve racking as he had no idea what the camera was. The only camera he was used to was the one Evy had at his home, and the one on the thing she calls her phone.

"I'll explain it to you later. Do you feel comfortable talking to them, or do you want to leave?" Evelyn asked, leaving the decision up to Angus. It was his story, he could make the decision to go public with it when, and if, he ever wanted to.

"Go." Angus said with a frown. That was all the confirmation Evelyn needed to grab his hand and walk back to the car. Both reporters from nine news followed, apologizing for being intrusive yet their cameras were still rolling which contradicted their apologies.

"It's okay, we just have an appointment to go to." Even responded, lying through her teeth to get away quickly. Getting the in car, her heart was still racing as she was well aware of the camera watching her drive, and all she could think was don't you dare crash.
