This is it

"Oooh, Angus is wearing a shirt this evening." Evelyn sang as she heard his footsteps pad on the wooden floor. "What is this special occasion?"

Angus was leaned up against the door frame, his arms folded over his chest and a grin on his face as he admired the women in front of him. She was wearing nothing special, just her black shorts and a running bra to try and escape some of the heat that carried through to the night. Her curls were running down her back, frizzing at the ends from the humidity yet the black mess looked mesmerising. But most importantly, the grin on her face made the tiny dimples in her cheeks pop and reached her eyes, unable to hide the true happiness she felt.

"Evy like?" He asked with a raised eyebrow, pretended to not be affected as she confirmed he looked dashing. Not only was it a shirt he was wearing tonight, it was a black short sleeved top with buttons going down the front. Buttons.

"I need you to do me a favour." Angus said. He disappeared for a second and reappeared with a small bag, making Evelyn frown as she looked at it. "I need you to out this on."

"Okay?" Evelyn opened the bag curiously, finding a plain and simple white dress in the bag. \

The halter top neckline fell into a t shirt dress style with a small bit of figure cut into it. It stopped mid-thigh, with pale green pattern circling around the bottom hem line. The green swirled around, almost like a wave, with stray waves coming off the main one. It was quite a casual dress, yet it was a dress notherless. In a jungle, where they were the only two there.

"You look beautiful," Angus commented as he watched Evelyn admire it in the mirror. He did well to find her size, granted Mrs Miller needed some credit for it. He felt pride in him as her cheeks flushed from the compliment, mumbling something incohort under her breath.

Angus just chuckled, holding out his hand. "Let's get out of here."

"So what's the occasion?" Evelyn questioned as they walked to the secret destination.

"I wanted to do something for you, something we'd do if we were still at your home."

"Wait a minute Angus," Evelyn said with a laugh. "Is this a date?" She turned around, steadying herself from the uphill climb they were doing. Angus' loose hair dropped in front of his face as he mumbled a response, a sudden shyness overtaking him.

"That's so sweet, Gus." Evelyn said softly, placing her hands on his shoulders. From standing on the taller part of the assent, Evelyn was at a height where it didn't require her standing on her tip ties to reach his mouth and she took full advantage of it. She gently placed a kiss on his lips, savouring the moment before pulling away.

"We're almost there," his husky voice spoke as he looked deep in her eyes. "Just to the cliff." He patted her bum to start her moving again. He didn't wasn't to miss it.

A few minutes later, the couple had reached the top of the cliff. The sun was due to set in about half an hour, so the sky was already starting to tint pink and red as they stared out over the sea of bright green canopy of leaves. The blanket had already been set up, a box sealed (and thankfully not attacked by monkeys) was in the corner as well as a few pillows and blanket.

"Gus, this is beautiful." Evelyn said as she reached for his hand. She pulled herself into the side of his body, his arm naturally sliding around her waist to hold her close.

"It's about to get better." Angus smiled. "I cooked."

"You? No way." Evelyn laughed as Gus led her to take a seat.

"By cooked, I mean I ordered special bread for yesterday's delivery and used the plant's you grew to make sandwiches." He said with a laugh. "And I packed a cake."

"Chocolate?"

"There's no other choice." He laughed, sitting down next to her.

The next half hour was spent in endless laughter, sore stomach and sneaky kisses. They talked about everything they could in the time frame, and when the sun finally began sinking they fell into a comfortable silence.

"There's only one thing more beautiful than the setting sun the women in the sky made." Angus commented. "You." He looked over at her and was rewarded with a poke in the hip. "Stop poking me, Evy. I'm trying to be romantic." He spoke. He jabbed her back, making her fall on her back in a hysterical laugh. He didn't waste the opportunity to get on top of her, straddling her smaller waist.

"I like the reaction I get." She cheekily smiled up at him.

"Female, if you wanted me to pin you down all you had to do was ask." His voice dropped a pitch to a seductive tone, a smirk plastered on his face. He loved the booming laugh that left her body.

"Pig." She laughed. "Now get off me, I want to watch the sunset."

He complied, sitting back down and pulling Evy so she was leaning on his side as they watched.

"I love you Gus," she spoke spontaneously, just feeling the urge to tell him.

"I love you." He whole heartedly spoke back. "I'm glad it was you who found me, not Mike." He said. "Imagine if I had fallen in love with Mike."

Evelyn laughed. "You'd be in for a big surprise."

"I'd say." Angus took a deep breath. "Look Evy. I do love you, and I'm glad you found me. Not Mike, not your Dad and not some other girl. I believe the women in the sky gave me this opportunity to find and love you, to put away all the other not so fun memories of this place."

Evelyn looked up at him, a flush to her cheeks.

"This is my home, it's where I belong and it's where you belong. Where we belong." He took her hands, pulling her to her feet as he looked down on her smiling face.

"I've never been so happy before, not even when my parents were around. Even then, it was about surviving but with you I just want to live, to experience new thing." Slowly, Angus lowered himself down onto one knee, reaching into the container of food and pulling out a small blue box. Evelyn gasped, and with the hand Angus had let go of she raised it to her mouth in shock.

"I was talking to your dad, and I told him just that. How I wanted to live with you, to protect you, and to love you. Forever. I told him, that I would never let you go and he said I should marry you. I know it's been a dream of yours to get married, and I know living here with me won't have the typical married life but I want to do this so nothing will separate us. I want you forever, and I know this will show how much I love you." Angus felt extremely nervous. The speech he had been practising for weeks was finally all said, and he still has so much more to say. He took in a deep breath, anxious on why she hadn't said a word and why there were small tears in her eyes.

"Evelyn Miller, will you marry me?" His voice cracked, feeling extremely vulnerable. He had known her for about a year now, and they'd been on his island for about six months now. They had been nothing but happy and he wanted what would bind them tother through everything.

He looked up at the female he called his love. The female he wanted to spend forever with. He could see the shock on her face, but he could see the thrill too.

"Angus, of course I will." She spoke, her voice shaking. Angus opened the box, shoulders sagging in relief as he pulled the silver ring from the box. It was a flat, thin ring with small diamonds bound into it around the whole ring. It caught the light and shun whether it was night or day. It was practical as no bulging rock was pointing out ready to catch on anything. It was beautiful and it was secure, much like them.

Angus had to calm himself as he held Evelyn's quivering hand in his to slide the ring on. As soon as it was on her finger, he stood up and immediately grabbed her, pulling her feet off the ground and placing a heavy kiss on her lips.

"I'm so happy Gus, but I'm so shocked." She said pressing kiss onto his lips. "So unbelievably happy." She kissed him again.

"I can't believe this." Evelyn spoke, her voice still shaky from shock.

"Neither can I." Angus said back with a laugh, pulling her in once more for a kiss.
