I'm so sorry for the long wait. I feel horrible guys!!! I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and got everything you wanted and wished for.

"Evelyn, slow down." Mike couldn't help but let out a small chuckle as the small women eagerly raced on ahead of the large man, clearly wanting to find this mysterious man she claims to have met.

"We need to find him though," she sharply replied, feeling a bit guilty from snapping but not correcting her tone or apologizing in her haste. Already they had been walking for twenty minutes and the heat was making her tired. She pulled the water bottle out of the backpack and took a sip while Mike stopped and waited for her. She strained her neck to look up at him, the head strong man on the expedition, as he scouted the area with caution and judgment.

Mike was the tallest man Evelyn had ever met. Standing at a huge 6"8' he towered over everybody. The evident hours of hard work in the gym was evident as the amount of muscle stood out on his body, however due to his atletism he was lean. His hair had been shaven off leaving his pale head to shine from the suns reflection if you could ever get to a point where you could look down on the giant. His face had average brown eyes and his lips bordered on the thinner side as the pale pink lips rested tilted upwards in a small permanent smile from the man's happy personality. His features were average.

What made Mike stick out to be the true leader of the muscles accompanying the camp was not even his large, dangerous build but his witty, intelligent demeanor involving nature and safety procedures. His ability to think of escapes and ways to protect others was one of a genius. After only having photos from satellite and never having solid proof of dangers on the island, he was the prime candidate for the job of unknown threats and dangers that could call for any type of protocol and rapid thinking on the spot. That, and he was one of the friendliest people.

Quickly, Evelyn screwed the lid back on the bottle and chucked it away in the bag before strapping it on her back again. Earlier Evelyn had expressed her gut feeling to return to their meeting point, the top of the cliff. Mike had maneuvered a way to reach the point and with just under half the cliff left to hike Evelyn was filling with nerves.

"Ready?" Mike cocked an eyebrow and Evelyn frowned when she nodded, not seeing a bead of sweat on him as she was already sweating buckets. "Let me." Mike offered, one of his long arms outstretched in offer of taking the bag from Evelyn's small body in order to help her reach her destination in less of a struggle. Gratefully she smiled upwards at Mike and not even a moment later they continued the small walk up the rest of the cliff.

"He's not here." Mike stated as they stood at the top of the cliff not even ten minutes later. Evelyn stood puffing, her hands on her hips with bad posture as she slouched from tiredness while panting for air. She stood looking out over the edge at the vast body of ocean before her. The enormity of it was unbelievable. She stood deep in thought.

No way would Evelyn be able to remember the route to Angus' hut from memory, and Mike wouldn't allow her to take the risk of entering to far in without the rest of the party on the set hiking days designed for that purpose. Angus was light on his feet and very quiet so tracking him, especially in terrain they didn't know much about yet, would be difficult and next to impossible. Her only option was to yell.

"Angus! Ahhhhh!" She bellowed at the top of her lungs, her hands still on her hips and eyes closed as she yelled as loud as she could as she stooped to sounding in danger would make the man emerge. The island was huge and she knew for a fact that if Angus didn't want to be rediscovered, he wouldn't be.

Quick footsteps were heard behind and as Evelyn spun around her heart dropped when it was only Mike.

"I understand you want to find him Evie, but yelling like that isn't going to help. I thought you were in trouble." He scolded like a father, his age being seven years older than Evelyn making her feel small and naive.

"That was the point." Evelyn murmured under her breath. Mike heard her but chose not to comment, feeling upset that Evelyn was so disheartened.

"Come on then," he tried to encourage her. "Let's go for a walk and we can see if we can find this Angus."

Mike didn't realize how saying Angus' name made Evelyn feel as though he believed her and that alone was enough for Evelyn to smile and head forwards.

"From what I gathered he knows his way everywhere, like the back of his hand." She said and stared rambling all of her observations about this man as they set off again, this time a bounce to her step. Mike followed behind her, happy to see Evelyn motivated and not disheartened like before. Still, he kept his eyes peeled as they walked through the forest. The beauty to him was incredible. The vibrant greens and the colorful fauna with the fresh smell of the forest made him feel as though he is in a place of his wildest imagination and not reality.

However he couldn't let that stop him from doing his job, which was to keep all participants on the expedition safe. Yet he wouldn't let that stop him from enjoying the once in a lifetime experience too.

The sound of his Evelyn yelling his name still rang in Angus' ears as he followed from a very safe distance behind Evelyn. Angus wanted so badly to go up to her, to try conversing with her and explore like they had the day before then go and be able to sleep again like they had the night before, her smaller frame snuggling to his making him feel protective, content and like he had a whole new purpose of survival.

But this one walking behind her made Angus nervous. He was the opposite of Evelyn. Tall, much taller than himself and he was more solid. The shine on his head fascinated Angus but the characteristic of assertiveness he possessed was another reason Angus didn't approach her.

If there was anything he had learnt from the wild, it was that the bigger, tougher males got possession over the female for the strongest possible offspring. And from the smile on her face, she seemed happy near him. It pulled on his chest knowing it wasn't him.

But he didn't stop trailing them. Every now and then this stranger would slow and turn his head in the direction of Angus making him hide himself and stay out of their sight. He would later catch up and even deter them from areas he knew large predators roamed throughout the day just to make sure Evelyn didn't het harmed.

At one point, they both stopped. The both of them had found a clearing and sat on a log and opened a thing and pulled food from it. Angus was fascinated at the contraption. He had one similar, however the leaves easily broke and he had yet leant how to make a sturdy reinforced carrier. He planned on threading vines and thin branches but he hadn't the time yet.

A small brown rectangle was pulled from the bag after a while as well as a branch. Angus watch confused as the rectangle opened and Evelyn started moving her hand that held the branch in different directions over the opened rectangle. Her focus was solely on a flower in front of her and he felt irritation emerge as her focus was solely on the plant and the rectangle in front of her. The other person had left a few minutes ago, leaving Evelyn all by herself.

As much as Angus wanted to see her, and now has the chance to as well, his stomach fluttered and felt heavy from nerves at the thought on approaching her again. What if she was happy with the male? What if he showed up and they had to battle. Angus had no ideas on this others strength and as confident as he is in his own home and jungle, he had no clue on the strength of the same species as he.

Angus didn't realize but his curiosity got the better of him. Slowly he begun creeping forwards closing the distance wanting to see what has Evelyn occupied. The pull to be near her mixed with his curiosity unknowingly made Angus creep forwards, his neck straining as he tried to find the angle to watch his Evelyn and see what on earth she was doing. The closer he got, he saw lines kept on the page from wherever the branch touched and the rectangle brown on the outside was white on the inside. He was so fascinated and intrigued that he lost his footing for moment as his toe caught on a root and his body harshly thumped into a tree trunk. He sucked in a sharp breath of air, mentally punishing himself for the slip up that in many other situations could have caused him his life.

What angered his most however, is that Evelyn hadn't been alert enough to hear him, opening her up to dangers that she wouldn't be prepared for from the lack of focus.

As Evelyn sketched the wild flower in front of her, her mind zoned out. Mike had left for a few minutes to relive himself and have a quick look at the small river that was a small walk away giving Evelyn a few moments to herself and actually start getting some of her research done by recording the flora and fauna of the island. Next to her was also a digital camera to document after her sketch.

"E-Evelyn." The voice broke her train of thought and she jumped slightly, turning to scold Mike for making her jump. However her mouth dried up when she turned her back to see Angus. His tall frame stood ten meters away from her, one hand on the tree supporting some of his weight. His heavenly brown eyes swarmed with nerves and even fright as his timid voice had called out to her.

"Angus," she breathed out in shock.

He was right there. So close to her.

All she wanted to do was hug him. She stood to her feet, placing her long forgotten sketch of the wild flower next the camera on the forest floor and stared in disbelief at Angus. His brown waves fell down his back, the left side having a loose chunk hanging in front of his ear.

"Evelyn" he repeated unsure on what to do. He watched in shock as Evelyn propelled her body forwards and next thing he knew, she was running at him. She abruptly stopped about a foot away from him, her infectious grin washing off onto him as he felt all nerves and anxiousness from before wash away as the corner of his mouth tugged upwards.

Shyly, Evelyn closed the tiny distance between her and her wild wan and wrapped her arms around his waist lightly, holding his shocked frame to hers. When he didn't return the gesture, Evelyn's cheeks flamed from embarrassment at the bold move and stepped back, her head facing the floor.

"I'm so sorry, I don't know what overcome me I'm so embarrassed." She said quickly, her words mixing up into one another making no sense to Angus. He didn't care though. He was over the shock of Evelyn being happy to see him so he lightly reached out and grabbed her wrist, immediately getting her to quieten up and look up at him, her eyes wide in confusion. He tugged her body so she stumbleled forwards and landed in his arms and he hugged her, just as she did to him a few moments ago. It took Evelyn a second to react before her arms rose and hugged Angus. Her head turned so her cheek was pressed into his solid chest and her eyes squinted closed.

Evelyn didn't understand why she was so happy to see him. Clearly he had been out here for a long time by himself so she wasn't worried about how he would survive on his own. Maybe it was the fact that he tried to hard around her and always tended to make sure she was safe. In her mind, she knew he was only like this due to the fact she was the first of their kind he has seen in ages. She wasn't anyone special to him apart from his first form of civilization contact and she frowned when the thought stung her. She has only known him for just over 24 hours yet already she was attached to him.

And that though honestly scared her.
