I woke up finding myself laying down in my bed. Looking around confused I tried to get up instantly but was still feeling a bit woozy and nauseous.

"Hey don't sit up too fast honey" I heard mom said. "You had a minor concussion".

"Mom? What happened?" I croaked out squinting my eyes trying to get rid of the slight dizziness I felt.

My shoulder was hurting just slightly and in a sling as I tried easing up. I looked down to find that my hand was also bandage as well as that I was no longer in those bloodied clothes.

"Pietro brought you back here, you passed out" mom said to me giving me a glass of water to drink.

"Kathleen? Is she alright? Where is she?" I asked looking around after I finished the water as I remembered she was with me.

"Don't worry she's fine, your father and brother are talking to her" mom said.

"I hope they don't traumatized and scare her more than she already is" I sighed.

"I think they know what they are doing" mom replied. "Anyway, Dr.Lee just left, you dislocated your left shoulder, and you got three stitches in your hand. He also took a piece of glass from it".

"Oh, so its not broken then? And yeah I did thought there was a piece of glass left in there" I replied playing with the bandage on my right hand.

"Yeah so, Dr.Lee had given us some painkillers for you to take. You're gonna have to rest that shoulder and your hand" mom said as she sat on a chair pulling it right beside my bed.

"Lexi, I'm so glad you're okay. I think maybe you should stay in for a while... You know until this whole situation blows over. I mean we don't know what they want with you but I just think it'd be safer to stay home".

"What? Are kidding me? That could take months, years. Mom I can't just throw away all my life just because I have to hide from people who wants to kidnapped me for God knows why" I replied incredulously. "I can't just do that, I have a social life, a restaurant and a store I'm opening next week. What would I even tell Gio?"

"What a store and restaurant?" Mom asked raising a brow.

"Oh. I wasn't supposed to say anything about that until next week. I wanted it to be a surprise" I smiled at her. "But I both the building that the little restaurant Dave's Delights was on as well as the restaurant. It was closing down so I bought it and next door I'm opening a store".

"Wow, that's all great. Lexi I'm so proud of you" mom chuckled. "How did you managed to organized everything to open both a restaurant and next week store all on your own? How long was this in progress?"

"Well that weeks when you guys went to London I made some calls and so on. As for the store Gio helped me" I told her.

"Oh. Well I'm really proud of you" mom smiled. "So is Gio like your partner then for the store?"

"No, he just helped me get all the organizing and clothes shipping together" I replied. "Actually he stocks and redone the entire store. I just found out today".

"Really? That's so nice of him. That means he really likes you to do something like that for you. It is a nice surprise" mom said to me.

"Yeah. And I promised I'd see him tonight. Oh no where's my phone? As a matter of fact what happened to my car? Did they at least took out my things?" I asked frantically.

"Hey, hey. Don't worry, we got your belongings right here" mom said picking up my bag off the floor from the side of the bed.

"Thanks, I thought they didn't save these" I said taking the bag from her. "What about the guns?"

"In your bedside table" mom pointed to the side. "They got out everything from the car, I made sure of it. I know how sentimental you can get about your things and having to replace them".

"Thanks mom" I sighed pulling out the phone I used for social contacts. "So what happened to my car?"

"Sorry sweetie, I know you really love that car but you're gonna have to get used to not having that one anymore. Its done for" mom said to me. "Don't worry Alphonso already ordered you a new one".

"I guess nothing last forever" I sighed. "I'm gonna have to call Gio and cancel tonight. I gotta find something to tell him, and about my car. I hate this feeling".

"What feeling?" Mom asked.

"This feeling of not being able to tell him the truth" I sighed.

"Oh, the feeling as if you're lying to him. I understand, but trust me its not lying" mom replied.

"But I am lying. Constantly" I said to her.

"You keep things from him, doesn't mean you're lying. He kept things from you as well Lexi. He is still hiding things from you, you're only aware of his other true side because you came across that file accidentally and you had him as a suspect from before. You don't need to feel guilty about it".

"I guess you're right" I sighed. "I'm gonna calk him".

"Alright, do that. I'm gonna go get you something to eat okay" mom said getting up.

"Okay" I nodded as she left the room.

Gio answered the phone almost immediately as it had rang.

"Lexi" I heard him sighed with relief.

"Hey" I breathe out.

"I thought something might had happened to you. Are you alright?" I heard him asked his voice laced with concern.

"Yeah, I'm fine. But why would you think that?" I asked curious.

"No reason, its just that I'm always worried about you" Gio replied

"Oh, well I'm okay but I'm gonna have to cancel seeing you tonight" I said to him.

"Okay, but may I asked why?"

"I uhm... I kinda met into a little accident today" I told him.

"What!? Why didn't you call me sooner? What happened? Are you hurt?"

"Not really, I've only received a few scratches and dislocated my shoulder. But otherwise I'm fine, however my car isn't" I sighed.

"Lexi, what exactly happened?" Gio asked.

"I'm not quite sure honestly. I may have been speeding somewhat and then some idiot had me run off the road" I told him.

Although it wasn't the total truth it wasn't a total lie either. It wasn't like he'd know what really happened unless he was watching me or had someone watching me. Now that the thought came to me, I was really curious. Kathleen did say she saw two cars at first. It makes sense when I thought about it now, one of those cars probably did belong to Gio's men. But why would he be having me watched? Unless he knows my secret, figure he needed to protect me since he may have enemies or simple doesn't trust me.

"Did you see who it was?" Gio asked.

"No I didn't. Why don't I stop over tomorrow evening and we'll talk about that more. I'm kinda drowsy from the painkillers I've gotten" I told him.

"How about I picked you up tomorrow at your house around 12 afternoon and we'll go somewhere?" Gio asked.

"Yeah, that sounds alright too" I replied.

"Well great, I'll see you tomorrow then. Get some rest okay".

"Yeah I will" I smiled. "Bye".

Just as I got off the phone, I saw Kathleen at my room doorway.

"Hey, are you okay?" She asked concerned.

"You can come inside Kathleen" I said to her. "And I'm fine. How are you?"

"I guess I'm okay" Kathleen replied as she came in and sat down on the chair mom had been using earlier. "A little shaken up though".

"I'm sorry, you had to get involved in all that mess" I said to her. "So Dad and Dominic talked to you? What exactly did they tell you?"

"Well basically about some family business and that I have to keep my mouth shut or else I'd end up like those guys today" Kathleen said nervously playing with her fingers in her lap.

"I'm really sorry about that, its my fault you're now dragged into this mess. I didn't think my association with you would have resulted in this" I told her.

"Lexi, what did those guys want with you? Is thus because of your family?"

"Kathleen, I honestly don't know. I don't even know who they were. And I'm not apart of that part of family business I'm just aware of it" I told her.

"And are you comfortable with this? People dying, illegal businesses? This wasn't your first time killing was it?" Kathleen asked.

"Look Kathleen I was dragged into this life innocently okay. And in this life its either you kill or be killed, you've seen that played out today. I can assure you that anyone that dies, wasn't just killed without a reason, they're not innocent" I replied. "And as for what you call illegal businesses, these are things that are happening all over, even our own government officials are aware of these. Not everything they do is illegal and it may get out of control if the wrong person or inexperienced persons try running it, what my family does is keep it under control and provide jobs for less fortunate males. I'm not saying that its right but its better this way. I don't question things, I know anything they do its because they have to".

"I guess but I still don't know if I have it in me to take someone's life. Today I just couldn't do it. And now all I can see is just the face of those guys" Kathleen said sadly.

"I understand if you don't want to work with me or have anything to do with us after what you've experienced but you do know you really have to keep quiet about it all or you won't be breathing much longer" I told her.

I know I was being harsh or blunt but I have to tell it as it is, it was just the reality.

"I know, I promised I won't say anything" Kathleen replied quickly. I could tell that she wasn't gonna say anything.

"Also, I think you should stay over here a few days" I said to her.

"Your brother thought so as well" Kathleen replied. "They're sending someone over to my apartment to get a few of my things".

"I think its best. You'll be safe here" I told her.

"I guess" Kathleen sighed.

"Kathleen, I also need you to tell me about Keith and why you had to run away" I said to her.

"Yeah" Kathleen nodded before sighing. "Alright so I met Keith when I just months before I finished high school..."

Alright guys so here's what's gonna happened. I'm going to write a brief explanation in a Bonus Chapter telling what happened to Keith and Kathleen, following a chapter written in Gio's POV.

I'm also sorry about the errors that maybe present in this story so far, I haven't gotten a chance to reread and edit it as yet.
