"So you wanna be my date to this years' Corporate business ball?" Marc asked smugly.

"I don't think I'm going Marc" I replied typing on my computer.

"Why not?" Marc asked. "I was hoping to take a hot girl with me, you know one that'd make me look good in the tabloids but one that won't possibly get clingy or take things serious or expect a relationship afterwards"

"Oh you want a trophy date" I nod. "I'm not the type. And who says I won't want a relationship afterwards? Why don't you just hire an escort, they don't expect anything from you except money which isn't a problem for you".

"Seriously Lexi? I'm not that shallow" Marc protest. "I want a beautiful sophisticated woman with me. You know somebody like you".

"Marc I'm flattered but I don't know if I'll be able to make it" I told him honestly looking up at him. "I may be busy that day".

"As it so happens its a late evening and night event sure you won't be so bust in the night?" Marc said to me.

"When I say busy for that day I mean I may be out the country" I said to him.

"Out the country?" Marc asked raising a brow in curiosity.

"Yeah. I think I need to finally go do something I've been avoiding for years now" I said to him.

"What?" Marc asked.

"I wanna visit my parents" I told him.

"You mean....?" Marc started.

"I'm flying out to London. I never went back to England after Dad found me and brought me here" I said to him. "And I just always somehow try to forget that my biological parents died but I don't wanna do that anymore, I think its time to get this over with".

"Oh, I had no idea" Marc said to me. "But why not go before the ball or after?"

"The day of the business ball marks another year anniversary of my parent's death" I said to him. "Its been years now and I don't think I can just go and enjoy myself at some business function, eating drinking and chatting it up all carefree knowing that I've been ignoring their deaths and trying not to acknowledge the fact that its the same date that they got killed".

"Lexi I'm sorry" Marc said getting up coming near me as he took my hands in his. "I'm sure they'd be proud to see how wonderful you turned out today".

"Really?" I asked. "I doubt that, I'm an occasional criminal Marc. Knowing them they'd be so disappointed seeing me like this".

"I think you turn out pretty wonderful" Marc smiling reassuringly.

"Sure you do" I chuckled. "We're exactly alike. Well almost"

"Yeah you're right" Marc chuckled. "But for the record I am proud of you. So what were they like?".

"Huh?" I asked confused.

"Your parents, what were they like?" Marc asked.

"You really wanna hear about my parents?" I asked in surprised.

"Yeah, I'm interested" Marc replied.

"That could take a while besides aren't you supposed to be busy today or something?" I asked.

"No and I have the whole day" Marc told me.

"Okay fine" I sighed. "Well I always thought my parents were the absolute best....." With that I proceeded to tell him about my late family.

"So you said you wanted to asked me for a favour?" Leon asked as he handed me a cup of coffee.

"Yeah" I nodded before taking the cup from him. "Thanks. Did Em fall asleep already?"

"Yeah, I guess today she had quite an eventful day" Leon chuckled. "She was extremely tired when I pick her up from school this evening".

"I figured because she only said a few tired words to me when I got here" I said to him. "She must've had a lot of fun today".

I had stopped by Leon's apartment after I left work to catch up with him and Emily because its been a while now since we've seen each other.

"She did" Leon nodded smiling.

"So I needed to asked you for a huge favour" I said to him. "You've told me before that if I needed anything I could asked you".

"Yeah sure I did. And it still stands" Leon nodded. "What is it?"

"Do you have plans this Saturday?" I asked him.

"Not that I'm aware of so far" Leon replied. "I haven't made any plans plus Em is staying over at my mom's for the weekend, so I guess I'm free. Why?"

"How do you feel about accompanying me to London this Saturday?" I asked.

"England?" Leon asked with raised brow.

"Yeah. It's on my families' private jet so you wouldn't have to worry about plane tickets or anything" I said to him.

"What's happening in London?" Leon asked.

"Nothing, its just that this Saturday is going to make nine years since my parents died. And I've finally decided I want to pay my respect in visiting them, I just don't wanna do it alone" I said to him.

"I'll go with you Lexi" Leon smiled.

"You will?" I said in surprise before going to hug him. "You're awesome, thank you"

"You're welcome" Leon smiled putting his hands around me. "We're friends Lexi and I told you I'll be there for you if you need"

"Thanks Leon, you know I really appreciate it" I said to him. "I've been trying to ignore the fact that they died all these years, I never went back to England after their deaths. This Saturday is also the annual ball for business personnel's and I'm meant to be going but knowing that its the anniversary of their death I just don't think I could attend and have a good time knowing I haven't acknowledged my parents death. Plus I'd need a date which I don't have so it'd make it just worst".

"I have an idea" Leon said to me. "Are these business functions something that you'd genuinely want to go or enjoy?"

"Yeah" I nodded. "At first growing up I hated those functions, it was a bore having to just walk around chatting with boring business persons. But then I became one of those business person and these functions tend to be a good business opportunity as well as strangely fun"

"Well how about we leave for London on like Friday since it takes a few hours to fly over to England. We could stay over at a hotel or something and then in the morning we go visit your parents spend a while before coming back here and I could be your escort to the ball" Leon said to me. "But that's just a suggestion only if you want to".

"You'd really do that?" I asked surprised.

"Yeah that way you could do both on the one day especially since you have your own flight transportation" Leon said to me.

"I guess I'd like that" I smile at him. "My family have a few hotels over there so we could stay at one".

Friday evening Leon and I had board the jet to London where we had stayed in one of the Luciano's hotel family suite. On Saturday morning after breakfast Leon and I had a car organized to drive us to the cemetery. I don't know if I even remembered where their tombs were but I had to relied on the little memory I had to find them. After walking passed a couple of tombs I finally come to the two heads stones which were my parents, with their names DOB and time of death.

"This is it" I said holding onto Leon's hand stopping him from walking past.

"Oh" Leon said stopping and looking down at the headstones.

"I can't believe I'm finally here after so many years" I said. "And now that I'm finally here its just all so unbelievable, I don't even know what to say".

"Do you need a few minutes?" Leon asked me.

"What?" I asked confused looking at him.

"You know to maybe... talk to them" Leon said to me.

"I don't know what to say" I said truthfully.

"Trust me you'll think of something" Leon said patting me on the shoulder. "I'll be over there, just gonna give you some time".

"Okay" I nodded as he walked off.

I crouch down in front the headstones with a sad smile on my face before I started talking.

"Hi mom and dad" I said brushing off a few weeds that had grown and tangled around their headstones and placing down the flowers that I had bought.

"I know you guys probably won't hear me but still I just think this is something I should do. Even if you guys can hear me you probably don't know who I am right now considering the change of voice and lack of accent, but its me Kathleen your little girl. Well I kinda go by Lexi now and I'm not exactly your little girl anymore, I've grown. I now live in the US hence me working on perfecting the american accent. You guys don't need to worry about me, if had a good family since you've gone and I think I now turn out okay. I own a store and two successful restaurants and in a few more months I'm thinking of starting a few more stores. I really missed you guys, I wish you were here. Just so you know those guys that took you from me they got what they deserved. One is imprisoned for life and the other is no longer alive either. I know I haven't visited you guys in years but its because I couldn't bare the thought of knowing that I no longer have you guys with me. I've decided that its now time I pay you guys a visit, I didn't mean to neglect you but I just wasn't ready to come back here as yet"

" I'm going be visiting more often, I came here today with a friend. His name his Leon and he's really great, he's an awesome friend not to mention a great dad, he has a five year old daughter her name is Emily. She's a special girl, I think you guys would've love both her and her dad. I did a lot of things that I'm not proud of and you wouldn't be proud of either but I just have to say that everything I've ever done is because of a caused. I've been trying to be the strong brave girl you always wanted me to be, I've learned to stand up for myself now. I maybe attending this huge business ball back home if I make it back in time. I really miss you guys and I wish you were here. I'm going to be going now but I'll be back from time to time to visit. I love you guys so much, I just wish you were here for me to say it to your face or that you guys could really hear me. Bye mom and Dad".

I stood up wiping the few tears that had escaped my eyes and ran down my face. I hadn't even noticed I was crying until now. I sniffle as I walked off back towards Leon who had been leaning against a tree a few paces from where I was.

"Are you finished already?" Leon asked.

"Yeah" I nodded with a slight smile. "It felt really good talking to them even if they won't hear me or can't answer but it still give me a sense of relief just getting certain things off my chest".

"I know it would help a bit that's why I suggest you talk to them" Leon said to me.

"Len thank you so much for coming here with me" I said throwing my hands around his waist hugging him. "I don't think I'd be able to do this alone".

"I told you its no problem I'm happy be there far you" Leon replied returning my hug. "You've been there for me and Emily so far even if you haven't noticed".

"Thank you" I breathe once more.

"So where to now?" Leon asked.

"We could go grab a bite" I said to him.

"That'd be great" Leon smiled.

"Then..." I said trailing off with a sneaky smile.

"Then?" Leon asked looking at me suspiciously.

"How do you feel about dress shopping?" I grin at him.

"What!? No, no way Lexi" Leon start protesting.

"Oh come on, don't be a whimp. We'll go suit shopping as well after all we have to look good for those pictures and you could match my dress" I said pulling him by the hand back towards the car. "We definite have to get best dressed couple for the night"

"So Lexi I don't mean to pry or bring back any bad memories but I hope you don't mind me asking, how did your parents died?" Leon asked as we drove off from the cemetery.

"Uhm they uh.." I started not sure if I should really say anything.

"Its okay" Leon said to me. "You don't have to say anything I'm sorry I didn't mean to bring up any bad memory".

"No it's fine" I sighed. "They were killed. I had just caught fourteen years old a few days before. Our house was broke into by two guys, it was believed that the motive was robbery, my parents were shot. I had witnessed it"

"Oh my God I'm so sorry Lexi" Leon said sincerely looking over at me briefly before looking back at the road. "That must've been so hard for you. What happened to the robbers did they get caught or what they deserved?"

"Most definitely" I replied. "The police caught only one of them that night, the other one had escaped"

"That bastard is still out running around freely after what he did!?" Leon asked incredulously.

"Of course not" I scoffed. "He got what he deserved".

"What do you mean? What happened?" Leon asked.

"He's dead" I stated.

"He got killed or something?" Leon asked.

"A dagger to the neck that was his gift" I said smiling at the memory.

"Woah" Leon said. "That was harsh although he was a wicked asshole".

"Harsh?" I snigger. "I should have plunge sixty more daggers through him"

"What!?" Leon shrieked in shock as he stepped on the brakes causing us to slump forward before slumping back in our seats as we came to a stop.

"Y-you did it?" Leon asked I'm shock and disbelief.

"Shit" I mumbled mostly to myself realizing my skip up before turning to look at him. "Leon do you trust me?"

"Lexi I-I..." Leon started saying.

"Please yes or no" I said to him.

"Yes I do I don't know if that's ..." Leon started.

"Good, now can I trust you?" I asked looking him dead in the eyes.

"Yeah" Leon whispered gulping nervously.

"Please I don't want what I'm about to tell you change things between us because you're a great friend and I don't wanna lose you" I told him truthfully.

"But that guy that killed my parents, his name was Ethan. And yes I was the one who killed him"
