"Why are you so quiet?" Katie asked, taking a bite of her sandwich. "I mean, you are normally quiet, but you are more quiet now. Also, you aren't eating your food."

I sighed and looked at the untouched food. I knew that I had to eat, but my mind was going a mile a minute. I wasn't able to enjoy it nor stop feeling sick. Worry was something on my mind, and I had no idea how to stop it. "Just tired, I guess," I replied.

"Why are you lying to me?" Katie asked, raising an eyebrow. "I know that it is more than that." She took a bite of her food. "You only do this when you are thinking too much, or we don't have enough to eat."

I took a deep breath and sighed. "For your protection, Katie," I said. "If you know what is going on, then he could hurt you."

Katie furrowed her brows. "He?" she asked, causing me to curse mentally. "Who is he?"

"Don't worry about it," I grumbled. I scowled at my food before shoving it Miguel, who had been eyeing it since he had finished his food. "I don't know why you have been staring at it and not get it, but here."

"Gracias, Señorita," Miguel said. He popped a fry into his mouth. "You know, you should tell her. Katarina can help you out. I thought you trusted her."

"I do," I replied. "But, I don't trust you."

Miguel mocked winced and placed his hand over his heart. "You wound me, Señorita," he said, causing me to roll my eyes. "Please, tell me why you don't trust me? Katarina does."

"Katarina, also, knows you," I replied. "I don't."

He shrugged. "I am the son of Jorge and Yasmin Cortes, I am nineteen years old, and I am the Beta of the pack. Is there anything else?"

I scowled but didn't reply.

"She isn't going to say what his bugging her," Katie said. "She clamps up like a shell when we are talking about touchy subjects like..." A thought crossed her mind causing her to look at me with shock and fear. "It's not him. Is it?" she asked, her voice shaking.

"He'll know if you know," I replied, gravely. "I am not saying a word."

"So, it's both? How is that possible? Mah-"

"Not here," I hissed, interrupting her. "And do not say that name."

"But, Why. Why are you helping him?" she spat. "Have you forgo-"

"I have not forgotten," I hissed, leaning forward. I stared at her, anger filling my body. I took a deep breath and tried to relax before leaning back in my seat. "Do not ask. If he knows that you know, then he will know where you are."

Katie leaned back and frowned. She wasn't afraid of me, but I could tell that she was afraid of them. "Will he know if I have you wipe my memory?" she asked.

I hesitated but shrugged. "Don't know," I replied. "But, I want to be safe than sorry."

"But, you need to talk about it. And I want to know what happened to my..." She glanced away from me.

"They're alive, missing you," I replied. I glanced at the bar area to see Jerecho sitting there. "They asked about you," I said, looking over at her.

Katie frowned and nodded her head. She glanced at the bar area to see Jetecho and looked at me. "What about him?"

I pursed my lips and shrugged. "Part of him does," I said.

"Who is him?" Miguel asked.

"None of your concern." I glanced at Miguel, causing him to scowl. "Ask your Alpha if you want. He knows."

"Why does he know and not me?" Katie asked. "Do you know why I am even at this lack? I felt..." She furrowed her brows, and I could tell that she felt a connection here.

I smirked at her tiredly. "It was written in the stars."

"Sky?" Katie asked before I left to go back to the pack. She furrowed her brows and sighed. "Do you think that he can..." She glanced away and licked her lips. "I-I want to remember talking to you, but I don't want to think about him and how stupid you are."

"I still have family there, Katie," I said. I gestured towards the forest before walking that way. I didn't need to look back to know that she was following because I all ready knew that she was. "I think that he will be able to do it or knows someone. I think that that might be the reason as to why he was sitting there."

Katie nodded her head. "He knew that I would ask what was wrong and figure it out because you are too stubborn to tell me."

I smirked at her tiredly. "You know me, Katie. You seem to know the shit that I try to hide."

"Does Thomas?"

I shrugged my shoulder. "Somewhat, but you had been through what I had been through."

Katie nodded her head, slowly. "Will I ever get to see my parents again?"

"I think so," I replied. "But, I want to take care of them first."

Katie nodded her head. She gave me a hug, causing me to tense up in her arms. "Just don't die, ya? I want to have my sister alive and well."

I tensed before hugging her back. "I will," I promised. I cleared my throat and to a step back. "Jerecho," I called out causing the God to appear.

Jerecho smiled at Katie. "I am glad to see you alive," he said, causing Katie to smile. "I am sorry for doing this, Katie."

Katie shrugged and gave him a small smile. "If it keeps Sky from worrying too much, then it is worth it," she said. "Will they be able to trace me?"

Jerecho shook his head. "Not when the spell is made," he said. "He doesn't have that much power but he is gaining it back."

Katie frowned and nodded her head. "Keep her safe?"

"Of course," Jerecho said.

"Katie linked me. What is happening?" Jethro asked, running over to us. He looked at me and then at Jerecho.

"I am getting my memory erased about a conversation that I had with Sky," Katie said. "I might not be able to walk back to the house and Sky needs to get back to the pack."

Jethro furrowed his brows in confusion. "Conversation about what?"

"The God that is being a pain in my ass," I replied. "He knows that Katie is not at my pack and is trying to find her."

"The Gods have placed a shield around this pack, so he isn't able to see her," Jerecho added. "But, he will be able to find her if she thinks of him or his... apprentice."

"Dummy is what you are looking for," I said, causing him to give me a pointed look.

Katie furrowed her brows. "Wait, how does he know about Gods?" she asked. "I mean, I know that I drunk said stuff to him, but I tried to make it look like that I had no idea what I was talking about."

"This pack... had some sort of connection with the Gods. Like I said, it was written in the stars for you to be here," I said.

Katie frowned but nodded her head. "I can tell that you are confused about this too, so I won't ask."

I nodded. "Stay safe. Ya? Don't do anything stupid."

Katie smiled. "I am not as bad as you," she said, teasingly. "But, I won't," she promised. She nodded her head to Jerecho. "I am ready."

Jerecho nodded his head. He walked over to her and placed his fingers on the top of her forehead. His eyes glowed gold, causing Katie's eyes to glow gold.

Katie gasped but that was the only sound she made. She didn't move from her spot, and I had no idea what was going on.

Jerecho pulled away from Katie, his eyes turning back to their normal color. He caught her before she fell and held her out to Jethro. "She is going to be a little woozy and disoriented when she wakes up," he said. "But, she'll be fine in an hour or two."

Jethro nodded his head. "If you need help, Alpha, just contact me. I won't send Katie there." He glanced at me, causing me to nod my head. "It was nice meeting you.'

"Nice meeting you too. I'll keep the help in mind," I replied. I looked at Jerecho. "I'm ready to go back."

He gestured at the forest. "Then start running," he said.

I nodded goodbye to Jethro before starting to take off running.

Everything seemed blurry for what felt like an eternity but was maybe and hour or so until everything "normal".

The trees had changed back to the way they had been when I left this pack, and the air was different too.

I was home.
