We had overpowered them in the end. We had them kneeling at our feet, their hands and feet bound to the ground that they walked on.

I stood in front of them, my arm bleeding from a hit that Reeves's sperm donor had tried to give him. My whole body was sore, but I knew that I had to release them from Mahklha's hold before I was able to do anything else.

Reeves stood at my shoulder with both Dean and Ben leaving to make sure that they were not needed in the battle that was just about finished. He was silent, and I could tell that he had wished things had turned out differently and not the way that they were about to play out.

Me, I wished for the same, but I knew that my father was long gone. He died when my mother died, and there wasn't anything that I could do to bring him back and live a long happy life.

I looked at Reeves when he shuffled his feet, knowing that the three of them couldn't move. "You don't have to stay," I said. "There is still a battle going on."

Reeves shook his head. "I am staying," he said. He smiled, but it didn't reach his sullen eyes. He knew that this was the end of the both of his family members, death being their only escape. "Someone needs to watch your back."

I scowled but didn't reply as I turned to look at the three of them. I ignored their identical glares, them not fazing me as they would have done before all of this. "Back up."

Reeves took a step back and gave me space. His whole body was tense, and I knew that he was worried about a surprise attack.

I wasn't that worried. I could feel the gaze of animals that were symbols of the Gods and Goddesses that lived on the world that counted as my second home. I knew that they were going to be watching over us and make sure that nothing happened to us.

I pulled the sword out and held it flat in my hands. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. I could feel the power coming from the sword and changed it until it was smaller and easier for me to handle.

I opened my eyes and stared at the now dagger. "It is time," I said, coldly. I turned to look at Reeves. "Last chance," I warned.

Reeves nodded his head and cleared his throat. "I am staying. They are still..." He stopped and grimaced.

I nodded my head. "Understood." And, I did understand. A part of my father, the real Nathaniel was still there but covered in greed and hatred and the other shit that Mahklha had showed him.

I took a deep breath and let it out before going to Reeves's brother. Power filled the air as I tapped into my power reserve and started to mutter a language so old that it was only possible to say it orally. There was no written language, and there would be no account of it if the Gods died.

Reeves's brother's mouth was open as he "screamed" out in pain. No sound was heard as I made markings into his skin, cutting the ties between him and Mahklha.

Black blood flowed from the cuts and hit the ground in front of it. The smell of burnt flesh filled the air, and that was because a part of him was dying before the rest. The grass in front of him died because of the spell, and it would never grow back.

After what felt like an eternity but was only a few minutes, Reeves's brother's blood started to turn red, and I finished the spell.

He was slouching forward, his back going up and down as he breathed heavily. Sweat dripped from his forehead and mixed in with the blood still flowing.

Reeves stirred and moved to my side. His face was deathly white, and I knew that he thought that he should have left when I told him to. "Caden?" he asked, causing his brother to tense. His voice shook, but he didn't go any closer when I shook my head.

"I'm sorry," he whispered, his voice sounding rather different. It was softer than it had been and lost the sarcasm that Makalha had placed in it. "I have failed you and Caroline." He stiffened as he thought about his sister. "Is she..?"

"She is alive," I said, speaking for the first time between their exchange. I wiped the blade on the ground and watched as he stared up at me with the same expression that I had seen on Reeves's face many times. I kept my face void of emotion, not wanting them to know that this hurt me as much as it hurt them. "You know what I have to do. Correct?"

"Yes," he replied. "Make it quick."

I nodded my head and looked at Reeves. Silently, I asked him if he wanted to leave or stay. I knew that he wouldn't see me as a murder, a monster, but I knew that this was going to be tough on him.

Reeves nodded his head and backed up a step. Pain and guilt filled his eyes, and I knew that he hated that he wasn't strong enough for this.

"Go," Caden whispered. His breathing was still labored, and I could tell that he was in pain. "It's not your fault."

Reeves nodded his head. "See ya?" he asked, his voice cracking.

"See ya," he replied. He watched as Reeves bounded away from us and looked at me. "Take care of him, ya? It's going to be painful."

I nodded my head. "Will do." I grabbed his shoulder and took a deep breath. I hated that I was going to have to kill, but it was the only way to complete the spell.

"Do it," Caden said. He gave me a smirk, causing me to scowl. "You said that you would do it quickly."

I nodded my head and stabbed him in the heart with both some magic and my dagger.

Caden didn't cry out in pain or fight. The light in his eyes died out as his spirit left his body.

The wind around me picked up, and I heard a small voice whisper, 'thank you' drift through the air.

I took a deep breath and let it out. My stomach turned, but I didn't throw up.

I looked at the other two and placed a mask on my face. I took a deep breath and moved to Reeves's father to start the process all over again.

One down and two to go. And after that, I was going to have to wait for the rest to come to me.
