I was awake now and I slowly opened my eyes and the sun blinded me for a second and then I felt something heavy on top of me and sure enough it was Richard he had moved his head all the way to the gap in between my shoulder and neck, and his arms were spread out on the bed. I sighed and tossed my head back and sighed deeply and poked Richards head.

One of his eyes hastily opened and he smiled one of those sexy smiles you give in the morning. He kisses my cheek and puts his head back where it was, I moved over and he turned over and got up his hair sticking up. He rubbed his eyes and face palmed and rubbed it to wake up I got up and crossed my legs facing him. He sat down facing me with his legs outstretched to me. I started thinking how messy his hair was and decided to mess with his hair. I sat in between his legs and fixed his hair. Richard was staring at me and I looked at him

"What?" He shook his head and I roamed my hand to his face, he raised his hand and met mine his fingers intertwining with mine. I was so touched that he actually liked me, I had never had anyone like me or sleep in the same bed with me. I came closer with him and hugged him his smell was so intoxicating his hands straightened my back and he started undoing my braids.i smiled and turned around so he could undo them, it took him a few seconds to undo them and when I turned around he started laughing and I rolled my eyes.

"Yea yea I know I look like a lion." I said laughing picking my curly hair up and putting it into a ponytail. He stopped laughing and turned my body around and he made me lean back against his chest and stomach, he compared his huge hand to mine and I laughed. "Kahli?" He asked "yes?" I asked kinda hopeful. "Am I the only guy you like?" I stopped playing with his hand and looked up at him. "What do you mean by that?" His Adam's apple bobbed up and down and I knew he was nervous. "It's because sometimes I think you prefer or like Johan better than me." I hold his face in between my small hands and approach his face. "I used to Richard that's different but I really like you and I can't believe it's only been a few days."

He smiled sincerely and leaned down and kissed me and for the first time I felt the Sparks I felt from Johan but instead it was happening with Richard. Our lips moved in sync and he licked my bottom lip asking for entrance but I denied it and broke the kiss he looked disappointed but I stuck out my tongue and teased him. "Hurry up get ready we're going out to eat." I said, I wanted to get off the bed but he pulled me with his strong arms. I turned to face him "come on Richard." He did his puppy eyes and I smiled. "I love you Richard but if you keep acting like this you won't get anywhere." I said teasing him.

He sighed and got off the bed, I went over to the closet and took out some black sweatpants and a white loosely shirt that covered my butt. I went into the closet to change and put on my black old vans. I came out and met Richard who was waiting impatiently for the closet. "Hey wear something warm because after breakfast we're going somewhere." I said and grabbed the brush from the counter. "Ok help me choose." I looked at him with a seriously look and he looked serious. I walked over to his pile of clothes and choose out a black leather jacket, white t-shirt, and jeans. "Here." I hand him the clothes and he shrugs and goes puts it on in the bathroom.

I comb my hair and put it in a messy bun and walk out and walk through the hallway to Angels room, I walked in and they were up and changing. "Good morning babe!" Kayla greeted and hugged me, she looked at me and had a curious look. "Why are you so dressed up?" She asked, at that moment angel came out of the bathroom yawning. "We are going out for breakfast and then to a place I can't say." Angel nodded and Kayla squealed. "Omg babe what should I wear come on help me choose!!" Angel came up to us. "Me too."

Richards POV

Kahli picked out my clothes and I went into the restroom to change, while I was changing someone mind linked with me. 'Hey Richard where you going?' I looked out the window to meet Luke. I smiled and responded back, 'We're going out for breakfast, wanna join us? Just don't let Kahli know.' He ,looked up at me from the window and nodded and then speed away. I got changed quickly and headed out, I saw Kahli fixing Kayla's short messy hair and choosing her and Angels clothes. "Is our room a dress room or something now?" I asked, Kahli looked over at me and looked up and down and gave a satisfactory grin, I looked down at my clothes and she came up to me and kissed my cheek. "We should get going dontcha think?" I nodded and put an arm around her and held her close. Kayla mind linked with me during walking out the apartment.

'Richard! What do you think you're doing?! You know that Kahli belongs to Johan right? He is her mate!" My heart ached and I started to shift, Kahli noticed and looked at me wondering if I was ok and I gave one of my fake smiles that ensured that I was ok which I felt bad about because I don't like lying to her. 'Kayla.. Of coarse I know but how can I separate those feelings from her? You know what I am and how long it took to gain Johan's trust. I don't want to break his trust but for her I will.' I turned behind me to see Kayla's face mixed with anger and frustration. We finally got to the car and she looked away from me.

'Kayla please I'm begging you don't tell Johan' I prayed that she wouldn't tell him because if he did I would have to hurt him. 'Richard.... You know I love you like a brother. I promise I won't tell him however...' She paused stopping everything at once. 'You'll have to tell him one day.' With that I breathed and sighed a breath of relief knowing she wouldn't tell. I held kahlis hand tightly knowing that one day I'll have to fight for her.

Kahlis POV

Richard was holding tightly my hand and I was wondering what was going on with him. We where going to IHOP and then ice skating and then I would be getting ready for the pack party I will be having besides I turn 18 today. I haven't been to school or work because I just need days of relaxation but I'm sure I will survive. I keep on driving till I see a blue roof that is IHOP I park in an empty space and get off with Richard holding me closely. "Well this is my surprise for y'all besides today I turn 18." They all look surprising at me. "Ohh babe why didn't you say anything I would've treated you out!" Kayla said holding my hands and whining. I laugh at her childishness, "Kayla please don't think like that besides I did this for you all." Kayla looked sad and guilty but I smiled. Angel came up to me and hugged me. "Happy birthday Kahli sorry about this I wish you would've told me sooner." I smiled at her she was just so sweet. "Look angel I appreciate your kindness but please understand I want to do this for y'all."

They all looked down and guilty but I enlightened them. "Come on don't be glum now lets go eat!" Richard opened the door for me and I met a middle aged men, Asian, with his name tag that said Tate but before I could order our table I saw Luke behind the guy with a nice smile. I opened my mouth and walked to him and hugged him with tears in my eyes. "Luke why are you here? How are you?" He put up a finger up close to my face and took my hand to lead me through a door with a huge room that awaited just for me and turns out there were people there.

"Surprise!! Happy birthday Kahli!!" Luke said. There was a long rectangular table which there waited Lucas,Sam, and Johan. I looked at Johan and he smiled and so did I and this time my heart wasn't racing even though I liked him I didn't have those feelings anymore after what I found out, but for now I have to play it cool although this man is responsible for the murder of my parents I can't go ahead and attack not yet. I looked at Lucas who was dressed nicely and so was Sam. I went over to the two of them and hugged them tightly. "I was wondering how you where." Lucas said with a grin. "I am fine thank you for this surprise." He smiled genially. "It was nothing, glad you like it." I looked over at Sam who was fixing his hair. "I see the great Kahli came once more, hope you have a wonderful birthday." I awed and hugged him again.

I went over to Johan who had a gift in his hands. "What's this?" I ask curiously. He smiles and hands it to me "A good birthday can't be made without a gift. Happy birthday Kahli." He gazed in my eyes and he was leaning in for a kiss but I gave him a hug instead. "Thank you Johan." I turned away from him and took Angels hand who was shaking probably from all the new people. "Hey everyone I want your attention!" Angel looked confused and I smiled at her.

"This is a new friend of mine and I want you treat her like it were me." I gestured her over to Luke who was checking her out the most gentlemanly he could. "Angel this is my good friend Luke who is also a twin." Angel outstretched her arm and Luke was only staring at her. I cleared my throat and he snapped into his senses. "Um hi, Me is Luke, I- uh I mean my name is Luke." He bowed and looked at the floor blushing next came Lucas who had a nasty grin I gave him a stare and his grin disappeared. "This is Lucas, Luke's other half, this red head is Sam, and he is Johan."

She shook all of their hands except Sam who is a playboy and likes to let the girls feel like they are special. After our reunion we sat down so we could eat. I was at one end with Richard and Angel by my side. At the other end was Johan and beside him were Kayla and Sam, and in the middle were the twins. Johan looked at me but I didn't dare look at him.

We had just finished breakfast and we were at the skating ring and Richard was teaching me how to skate which I didn't like because I had fallen a few times already. "Come on Kahli if you need a break we can go out come on." He was pulling my arm but I insisted in staying. "I'll be fine Richard, now let's -" I felt a vibration in my back pocket and I pulled my phone out and Diana was calling me. "Take 5 Richard I need to take this call." He nodded and kissed my cheek before going skating like a bro. "Hello?"

'Hey Dina today is the day!! You will look fabulous I'll be over at 9:00 to pick u up ok?"

'Alright oh and hey um I saw Johan.' There was a long pause before I heard a Yelp.

'Where is he so I can go kill him?' I was surprised by her words and looked around if anyone heard but luckily I was distanced by everyone.

'No relax Diana I'm good and he's good there is no reason to advance now.' I say trying to calm her down, and sure enough she sighs.

'Alright just be ready by 9:00.' 'Ok.' And with that I hung up.

Richard rushed to my side and started whining. "Kahli can we go please? I don't like boys staring at you!" He says pouting like a child. I laugh out loud getting people's attention and smack both of his cheeks and close in his cheeks. "Ok alright we will be going now." He smiled and leaned in and kissed me but that didn't last long before I slipped and fell and we started laughing and he helped me up.

Johan's POV

I was skating with Kahli's new friend angel to get her jealous but that didn't work every 10 seconds I would turn to see her and everything she would be with me Richard. "Are you alright?" I looked at angel who I was hurting her small hands because I was trying to clench something. I let her hands go and apologized. "Sorry I'm just cold, I'll be back." I was heading towards the exit when I saw Kahli kissing Richard and then falling my heart literally broke in two and I just headed out. I sat down on a bench and put my face in between my hands.

I don't know how long I was in that position but I just felt someone removing my hands from my face but I wouldn't let them. "Go away Kayla." I said hoping she would go away but she didn't instead she insisted on removing my hands I got annoyed and removed them and faced her but to my surprise it wasn't her it was Kahli.

I stayed shocked before I came to my senses and looked away from her. "What do you want?" I asked harshly trying to make her feel guilty. "I came to say thank you for today and my gift." I looked at her neck and sure enough she was wearing the Ruby shaped heart that I got her. "I'm glad you liked it." I said simply. I met her eyes and she smiled and took my hand in hers and massaged the skin with her thumb. "It was very sweet for you to get me it, I really like it. Well I should get going I have something important to do this afternoon. So see ya hope to see ya soon." The warmness of her hand left mine but without thinking I stopped her and grabbed her hand. She looked back at me in surprise and I thought quickly in what to say. "Good luck with your thing." She smiled and I let go of her hand. She went off walking and without looking back. But somewhere inside of me I could hear my heart breaking for what I had just lost was my mate..

Kahlis POV

9:00 pm

"Where are you going this late?" Angel asked. Her and Kayla were in the dining room still awake while Richard was asleep from the long day he had, I smiled. "I'm just going to an important meeting, I'll be back though." Angel gave me a worried look and so did Kayla I went up to them and hugged them tightly. "Don't worry I'll be back." There was a knock on the door and I knew it was Diana. "Ok alright I'll see you later bye!!" They waved back and I opened the door and sure enough it was her she had a white long sparkly gown and her hair was up in a braided crown. She headed us towards the car and through the way we talked but deep in my stomach I had a bad feeling. "We are here!" I looked at the giant wooden mansion standing in front of me. The was a perch and I could see people peering down to see who was coming in, i in fact was nervous. "Come on don't be nervous I'm right here." She held my hand I relaxed smiling a little I got off the car and I could sense people staring at me from all different angles. I closed the door and just stared downwards not making any eye contact Diana wrapped an arm around one of my arms escorting me to the house. I lifted my sight a little and people weren't staring anymore so I stood up straight and started walking with her inside. The were lots of people and we made it to the 4th floor were we are supposed to be. Diana sat me at a table that was reserved for only us, she left to get us something to drink. Everyone was in gowns and long dresses so it didn't make me stand out. I remained calm and reserved as much as I could. Diana came back with sparkling apple cider. "Hey Diana is someone going to announce me as the alpha or can I just be one without all this commotion?" She laughed and cupped my cheek. "You will be announced like the proud alpha your mom was." I smiled and I saw there was a man standing on the stage with all lights on him and he was holding a microphone and a slip of paper.

The guy was tall he was in a tux, with green eyes and dirty blonde hair very handsome. "Ladies and gentlemen can I please have your attention." He paused and everyone directed their attention to him. He smiled and continued "We are here to give our respect to the new alpha to be like we did with lady Angelina. This person has to be a leader, caring, and helpful. This person is Anne Granntent!!!" Everyone started cheering I looked at aunt Diana who had the same expression as me, she immediately stood up and ran up to the stage grabbing the microphone from the guy and whispering in his ear, he looked shocked and the girl that was up there seemed stuck up. She had cherry lipstick, popping blue eyes, and wavy brown hair. She looked impatient in being a fake alpha. The guy looked at me and sent me an apologic look and Diana looked mad and the guy spook into the microphone again. "I'm so sorry to everyone this was a misunderstanding but Taylor you are not the alpha of this pack." Taylor was her name was shocked and her face turned angry.

The guy was about to speak again but Anne took the microphone away. "Who the hell is more important than me!! I saved the pack twice and I was an approval person from lady Angelina. Show yourself the person who says that is so named alpha. Do you think you're more important than me? Let's see how you compete with me come forward!" Diana looked at me and she wanted me to get up and confront her. I stayed frozen until I stood up and walked towards the stage looking at Anne. Everyone was watching me but I am my mothers daughter and I will not let no one lowly like her take her spot.

Anne scoffed thinking this was a joke until she realized that I was serious. The announcer bowed to me and I immediately went to his assistance and kneeled. "Please do not kneel, I do not deserve this kind of respect." However he still remained in place and Diana did the same. I looked away from them and I met with Anne face to face and she sneered and spoke into the microphone. "And you are?" I smiled.

"My name is Kahli Dina Catalan and I am the daughter of lady Angelina." With that she started laughing and I looked at her confused in what was so funny. "You!? Daughter of lady Angelina, I bet you didn't even know what happened to her!" Everyone started laughing and I had tears in my eyes and I grabbed the microphone from her hand shocking her. "Who the hell do you think you are?" I faced her. "On August 21 there was a fire in my house and the only one who lived was me and that person who murdered my parents is still on this earth, there is never a day that passes by that I don't remember that date and the fact that my parents murderer is still out there. I risked my life for someone who is very important to me but she was first a stranger, I was almost beaten to death. You are competing with someone who took care of herself since she was 14 without family or parents, I would rather die before I saw the day that my mothers place would be replaced with someone as low as you. I am my mothers and fathers daughter and like he says A noble spirit is the proof of our existence.' And I tend to keep those words at sake." She looked at me shocked

And the guy in the tux stood up and spoke into the microphone. "We officially now know who the true alpha and that is lady Angelina's daughter. Kahli Dina Catalan!" Everyone cheered and everyone looked proud and looked at me with pride. Diana came up to me and hugged me tightly. "You are the reflection of your mother." I hugged her back and the guy in the tux approached me. "Welcome lady Dina. My name is George, and I am the packs secretary and it will be nice to have a mini Angelina here."
