Voulge was up and was in the process of trying to put on her prosthetic limb when we reached her room, her eyes were bloodshot, but it appeared that it was from sadness rather than pain. Her hands were shaking so much that she wasn't able to strap the leg on to her leg, ending up making herself even more sad. She looked up as we all entered, and put on a brave smile, but it wasn't hard to see the pain behind the mask.
Rapier pushed forward and helped her adjust the leg on properly, and let her lean on him when he stood up. His face was hard and determined, silently saying to everyone she was going to get better.
Voulge looked at me and simply said "Thank you so much Knife." Even though there was no proof that I was the one who had made it, but that didn't stop everyone from looking at me, making my face burn up.
Katana was the first to speak.
"We need to let Voulge rest, come on guys, we all have better things to do." By that he meant spend the remaining daylight hours making an underground tunnel to the shed and a weapons training facility under the ground, which all had to have special material against the wall to stop anyone accidentally blowing up a sinkhole, which was more than likely. It all had to be done by hand, which meant that we finished the day wishing we hadn't woken up from the pain all over our bodies, which cried from fatigue.
We all had dinner on the second storey's roof, looking out over the whole town. Voulge made the trip with the aid of Rapier.
Suddenly everyone noticed a dark shape on the street directly in front of our driveway, looking at the house.
Silently, we each moved our separate ways, except for Voulge, who stayed where she was to oversee the mission.
Katana, Sling and Raven crept into the branches of a birch that grew nearby, leaning over the building.
Guisarme, Rapier and Glaive started scaling down the wall to the first storey, ready to attack at any moment.
Loch and I went all the way through the house and met the figure on the street.
The figure in question was a kid, shorter than me, with blonde hair brushed messily to the side, with sky blue eyes, and two dangerous looking sais in his hands. I didn't feel threatened, it was impossible to feel threatened when you not only have weapons that compete with the opponent's weapons, but also a lifetime of skill and practice as well as a giant array of martial arts, not to mention you have someone next to you who is wielding a mean looking axe and six people in hidden places ready to attack on a moment's notice.
"I wish to fight you," the figure said, pointing at me, he took his gauntlet off and threw it on the dust in front of him. I stared blankly at him.
"Is there a reason for this show?" Loch always knows what questions to ask and when to ask them.
"Yes, I rule this town with an iron fist, you can't just take that sort of thing away from me," he clearly wasn't getting the point.
I picked up the gauntlet. "This conversation is boring and it's obvious that there has been a misunderstanding, however, a one on one fight to the death will take place."
"Oh it's not one on one," the figure smiled cruelly. "It's five on two," four burly teenagers stepped out of nowhere.
"Is there any more of them?" Loch asked.
"No, but you will be dead before then," the boy lunged at me, thinking I was undefended.
My kick to his stomach knocked the wind out of him. He staggered back as two of his cronies charged at us. I flipped the closest one over my back, slamming his head into the concrete, smashing his skull and killing him instantly, while Loch simply decapitated his opponent.
The remaining two took more time to attack that the first two. One tried to slice at my legs with his sword, which I responded by somersaulting onto his back and snapping his neck before he had time to react, while the other tripped in his attack, landing face first at Loch's feet, where he was quickly dispatched.
The boy was now up and ready to fight again.
"Let's make this fair now and play one on one, seem fair?" He was obviously scared of the pair of us and was going to try to kill us one by one.
"Sure," I said, pulling out one knife, leaving the other 29 hidden. The boy laughed.
"You are going to try to kill the great Sai with a dagger?" He said, mocking me, trying to get me to attack.
"It's a knife stupid," I say and throw it with spin. The blade hits him in the right thumb, right in the crook of his hand, making him scream in agony and drop his weapon, while still holding onto his other weapon.
The next thing that happened was I attacked, grabbing my blade on my way past him, then turned and kicked him in the small of the back, making him stumble. By the time he turned I was launching a kick to the head, which clipped him on the mouth and sent him clambering back, his mouth bleeding.
He rose and threw his sai, which was the dumbest thing ever. Sais are not meant for throwing, so it was reflected easily by my knife, and it now fell into my hand, causing Sai to cry out in despair.
"You'll never kill me!" He said, and drew his sai from the ground and plunged it into his neck, hitting the carotid artery and hitting the top of the spinal cord, causing him to start to bleed out, but the shock sent him unconscious within seconds, but his dying words were.
"You were a worthy opponent, you will have no trouble from Claws ever again..." And fell unconscious, dying from the large amount of blood pouring out.
We all regrouped up on the roof, where Voulge had seen the entire thing and wanted to know every single detail that we could possibly offer, right down to the boy's shoe size, which didn't seem important to us but Voulge said was vital, which I couldn't help but see the pun made by that, even if unintentional. As darkness fell completely we took the bodies to a tip and burned them on funeral pyres and let their ashes drift into the spring air, being whisked away from here.
We went back to the house and I had a long relaxing bath in my en suite, which had all it's piping and materials installed by the tardies while I was outside fighting. The room was storm cloud grey, which followed a sponged pattern, which gave even more of a look of storm clouds. The shower was a beautiful goose neck shower with frosted glass for privacy. The basin had cabinets below it, the nozzle was in the shape of a snake, and the taps were bird's claws, with a beautiful wide mirror. The claw foot bath was situated underneath the circular window, with a toilet in the corner away from it. The floor was heated tiles, and had a mist selection, which allowed steam to rise in whisps and vapors to make you feel like you were far away.
After my shower I dressed in all black, apart from my shoes, which was colour coded with my carpet, which was crimson. Everyone has a different colour, this is so that we didn't have fights over who owned what back in C.L.O.U.D.
Rapier had royal blue, Glaive had lime, Loch had dark green, Katana had orange, Raven had purple, Sling had sky blue, Guisarme is yellow and Voulge had white.
All in all we were all pretty obsessed with the colour after spending 13 years of our life with it, with the first year of our lives being nothing more than a blur.
I joined the others downstairs, all wearing similar clothes to me with the same colour scheme. We made small talk over dinner, but nothing significant was talked about, although Katana and Sling practically looked like they were about to go make out somewhere, and Glaive and Raven were holding hands and gazing at each other while they talked to everyone at the table.
Loch and Guisarme felt the same way as the others did about themselves as they did, so that left me. I excused myself from the table, having only eaten half, and walked down the street to a park.
I sat and thought for a long time while swinging on the swings, not being able to leave the negative thoughts that I wasn't good enough for a girlfriend out of my head. When I could bear solitude no longer, I ran back to the house and fell into bed reading crime fiction.
I must have fallen asleep because I woke up with the book still on my bed, still on the correct page.
I quickly pulled on some clothes and walked down stairs, to find the rest of the group already sitting down, eating their breakfast without a care in the world. I ate my breakfast in the kitchen to avoid any awkwardness, and afterwards stayed locked in my room, reading, writing and drawing.
I continued to write in my code until 12:00 when someone came banging on my door. I opened it wearily to find Katana standing there, Rapier, Loch and Glaive behind him.
"The girls are having a movie marathon, so why don't we chill somewhere and talk or do stuff," came the voice, which sounded like they would much prefer to spend time with their girlfriends then with me. I made a terrible excuse about staying awake all night from worry, and so they went downstairs and joined in the movie marathon, which turned into what seemed to be truth or dare judging by the amount of sympathetic sighs and the squeals of excitement.
I went back to writing and didn't stop until about 10pm, when I crept downstairs and grabbed frozen pizza to eat. Not sure how they wanted to divide it up, I only took one piece, and went back upstairs, where I fell asleep.
The next morning I was up much earlier than anyone else, so I had my breakfast, showered, cleaned my teeth, and went out for a morning run.
I chose to go a different way than I had explored so far, and my run took me past a paddock full of horses. I've always had a connection with animals, not like stop attacking something or anything like that, just something small like hey guys.
As I approached the fence, I saw a middle-age woman walk out of her house. She noticed me from a distance and waved.
"Do you want to come in?" I was so shell shocked that I barely made out the words, I simply nodded and entered the paddock by way of the gate.
As I approached, I realized that all the horses were palomino or buckskin, making the horses almost sun like in their coating.
The woman was in the midst of them and she offered me a seat next to her, which I sat down in and took in the majesty of the animals surrounding us.
The woman was kind and asked me questions about how I liked the horses, I would always reply with the fact that they were beautiful and I wished I owned one, but I didn't have the space or the time.
After about an hour just sitting and talking, I took off back to our home, which was now bustling with activity.
I asked Guisarme what was happening, but all she replied with was, "Raven is thinking about us all getting a pet specialized to us, and we need to set up, oh and the animal can't be too large. So nothing like a cow or a horse."
"So, when is it happening?"
"We were all just waiting for you, you need to decide on what animal you would like, oh and there is sort a hidden rule asking to have it match your colour." Came the answer to me
"Can I have a dark ginger cat then?" It would be the closest thing I could legally get to crimson.
"Yeah, sure, go tell Raven, otherwise you'll miss her."
And so began my adventures with Adrianus.
