"Oh please, spare me your words. Save it for your other whores!" Bella was really mad and I was actually slightly terrified for General Josiah as he faced her wrath.
"Bella... M-my l-love, I can explain." Josiah tried to calm her down. It did not work to say the least.
"You promised me Josiah, you said I was the one for you! Instead you slept with my sister. My own flesh and blood!" She angrily slapped him again.
"You are real scum you know that?! I don't ever want to see you again. I hope your cock shrivels up and falls off with all the filth it's been in." She turned and stomped off in an angry huff.
Just before she went around the corner, she stopped and turned back around making eye contact with me.
"Oi, I would leave him if I were you! That man will cheat on you with anything that has two legs and a hole where he can put it!"
She was gone right after that.
Hold on, what?!
I turned to Josiah in disgust. I would never even consider to be with a man like him to begin with. I can't believe she thought him and I were together.
"Pity about her, she was a good shag and her sister had nice tits too." Josiah let out a sigh while rubbing his slightly swollen cheeks.
"You are a real piece of shit aren't you." I muttered while dismounting my horse and hitching it.
"All in a day's work Master Thief. I like to keep my options open you know." He gave me a wink and started making his way towards the gate.
I rolled my eyes and followed after him.
We entered a small guarded tower like building built up against the one side of gate. After climbing a couple of stairs and becoming level with the top of the wall there were two doors. One leading to what I assume the top of the wall and the other to a small room. There was a lot of noise coming from that room. It sounded like two men arguing over something.
"Arghh, you never listen! I refuse to believe your bullshit. You lost and a deal is a deal!" At that moment the door swung open and we'll built soldier stood on the other side, he glanced at us, stepped out the room and closed the door.
"Josiah, my man, what brings you here? Maybe you can help me out with Hector, the son of a bitch won't uphold his side of the deal!"
"I've actually got some urgent news, I'm glad I ran into you here, saves us a trip to the Eastern gate. Her majesty summons you. You are to report to the western outskirts of the city centre. Are any commanding officers currently manning your gate, if leave at least one in charge of your troops and bring the others." Josiah ordered. The men gave a quick nod and proceeded to make his way down the stairs.
Josiah then knocked on the door to the room. A soft 'enter' was spoken from the other side.
The room was a small office, it was very messy with scrolls and pages scattered everywhere. Another well built man was seated at a desk. His fingers slowly massaging his temples and his eyes cast low until we entered the cramped room.
"General Josiah, what brings you and your..." he gave me a funny look, hesitating, "... Lady friend to my side of the wall?"
"Enough with the formalities, I told you not to address me like that, Commander. Unfortunately I bring urgent news, I've already told Sedrick. The Queen summons you and a few of your commanding officers to the western outskirts of the city centre. All will be explained upon arrival. Now if you will leave us, I need to relay this message to Quin."
The Commander, Hector or whatever his name is, gave a nod and walked out after us.
Soon Josiah and I were back on our steeds galloping at a fast pace through the streets again. About 10 or so minutes in, out of nowhere another horse and rider joined us nearly crashing right into Josiah in the process. What horrible riding.
"Thought you could use some help, Ivor sent me; it seems you are taking to long!" The rider yelled over to Josiah over the loud thundering of the horses hooves. It was Vorn.
"Oi, you nearly killed me!" Josiah yelled back.
"Not my fault you are a shit rider and this horse that I have is stupid as well!" Vorn argued his horse falling into place behind Josiah's next to mine.
"Face it Vornie, you are the shit rider here, I'm fucking amazing!" Josiah turned his head around just to gloat.
He was not concentrating and was already not the greatest rider so it was no surprise when at that moment a hanging sign that was sticking out slightly hit him smack on the back of the head.
Josiah yelped in pain and swung his head forward. I could not help but laugh a little, Vorn however next to me was just about choking in laughter at his brother's misery. It made me smile, the dark serious atmosphere had been lifted for a moment.
"Great rider indeed Josiah, you just proved how shit you are!" Vorn wheezed back.
"Shut it Vorn! If you think you are so much better than me, let's race to the south gate! Master Thief, you are in this too! Just head in this general direction but who am I kidding, just follow me cause it's obvious who will win!" Josiah challenged.
Oh its on now. He is going to regret those words.
Josiah's steed lurched forward in a powerful leap as the race began. I would not let him get the lead and Vorn had the same idea.
"Eat my dust slow pokes!" Josiah turned around again and stuck his tongue out at us.
Again not concentrating, he hit another sign.
Vorn took off next to me in an almost uncontrollable terrifying manner. If his horse did not have a mind of its own and semi control, he would have crashed within the first three seconds. Vorns steed was galloping in a zig zagged wobbly line, Vorn too hitting a few signs and nearly taking out a pole.
"Fuck!" Vorn kept on screeching every time he nearly died.
Good grief, who the hell taught these two how to ride especially Vorn!
Not wanting either of them to beat me, I urged my horse to take off after them. I caught up to Vorn in no time and when I tried to overtake him, I was nearly killed when his horse swung out to the side crashing into mine. A sly yet apologetic look was thrown at me by the perpetrator.
We had lost sight of Josiah which was strange because there was no way he could be that far ahead unless he has taken another way.
Just then I heard a bunch of loud crashes, some screaming, swearing, a dog barking and things breaking in the building beside us. Next second a horse burst through the wooden shutter doors completely destroying them in the process.
The horse and rider fell into step beside me. They were completely covered from head to two in dust, small bits of wood from the door and of all things flour.
Josiah gave a sneeze and tried to dust himself and his horse off.
"How on earth did you mange that?!" I laughed.
"I don't even know, I tried taking a short cut but all of a sudden I ended up bolting through the open doors of a building and some crazy lady came out of nowhere with a fucking knife, there was a dog or something then I destroyed a door!" Josiah dramatically recounted his experience.
"Yeah Josiah you are shit, look who is winning, obviously the better rider!" Vorn hollered over his shoulder.
At that moment his horse slammed on breaks lifting its head up. Its path was blocked by a large cart and his horse obviously was not a jumper.
Vorn slammed foreword, he had the air knocked out of him and was just about hanging around the horse's neck.
Josiah took it this moment to swerve left to take another route unfortunately cutting me off last second and forcing to head straight. I just managed to avoid Vorn who was regaining his senses.
I nearly forgot about the cart but fortunately for me, I got a jumper. My horse picked up speed last second and launched itself up and over the cart gracefully landing with a soft thud on the other side.
I turned back to see that Vorn had gone off in the same direction as Josiah.
"How are you ahead of me?!" Someone yelled at me from behind. It was Josiah and he was catching up fast.
I ureged my horse to go faster and I could see the wall coming into view ahead of me, more specifically the gate.
Yes, I'm winning!
I spoke to soon. The last second, I do not even know how the hell he managed to do it, but Vorns horse burst out from a street beside me and bolted ahead of me.
He won.
Coming to a stop in front of the gate, both our horses were huffing and sweating. I too was a little out of breath. Vorn and I were about to dismount when Josiah's horse pulled up beside us.
"Yes, I win! In your face!" Vorn chanted emphasising the 'your' part.
"You cheated!" Josiah accused.
"Shut up and admit defeat, I'm the better rider here! Even Skyler couldn't beat me!"
"Well done Vorn." I congratulated.
Josiah huffed and dismounted.
I noticed he had managed to get most of the dust, wood and flour off but it was still rather noticeable.
"What is all the racquet out here at this hour?"
A plump armoured man stomped towards us eying all three of us before stopping at Josiah and giving a chuckle.
"Josiah, you look terrible."
"Oh shut up. Let's not talk about my appearance right now. There is something more urgent." The light atmosphere darkened again.
"The Queen has summoned you and some of your top commanding officers to the western outskirts of the city centre." Josiah once again relayed the order.
Not long after we were all gathered at the required location. The Queen had yet to make an appearance. I stood beside Vorn while Josiah discussed a few things with some of the Commanders.
I had been given armour much to my dismay. The Queen had ordered one of her men to give it to me. If was fortunately a lot lighter in weight compared to the previous armour that I had. It also fit me a little better. I had received a few looks from the other soldiers as yes, I was a lady standing in armour. Its still very much against the law for women to join the army and fight.
"There you are. I'm glad you managed to do it Sky." Ivor walked up to me totally ignoring Vorn.
"Hey, I helped to you know. In fact I did most of the work." Vorn wined.
"Oh, Vorn, I did not see you there sorry bud." Ivor teased.
Next minute two muscular arms wrapped around General Ivor's torso from behind.
"Ivor, my love. I have missed you so much, especially your well shaped perfect butt."
"Let me go Josiah. How many times have I told you, people are going to think that we are a couple or something." Ivor peeled the arms from him and moved to face Josiah.
"But we are lovers. You and I were destined to be as it is written in the stars above. Come here and give me a kiss." Josiah wrapped his arms around Ivor again and tried to kiss him.
Ivor looked beyond terrified as he tried to hold him back away from his face by pushing on his shoulders.
"Stop it. You are making a scene." Ivor complained.
"Aww, is my sweetheart feeling shy while we show our true love in public?" Josiah smiled, "Don't worry my love," he grabbed Ivor's butt before he could stop him, "Later in bed I will make sure that you don't need to be shy."
"Damnit Josiah, let me go and stop your nonsense. You look filthy go get cleaned up." Ivor managed to push him off. Josiah indeed was still covered in dust and flour.
"Aww so mean Ivy-poo." He pouted and started making his way off, last second he turned around, a cheeky smile on his lips, "Perhaps you want to join me now and we can throw in a quickie?"
"Just go already!" Ivor angrily ordered.
Josiah winked, blew a kiss and laughed at Ivor's reaction before leaving.
"That was beautiful." I teased.
"I don't know that the hell is wrong with that man. He terrifies me." Ivor looked slightly distraught.
I laughed.
"You and me both General." Vorn added with a nod.
"Aww it's okay Ivor, but he I don't blame him. You do have a perfect butt after all."
That was all it took for Ivor to turn beet red. He become all flustered and turned away.
