Two months went by and it seemed like we were getting colder and colder when it came to the investigation on who killed Craig. Every time someone thought they had a lead and we were making some progress, we were quickly pulled right back. At this point, everyone was waiting on another clue, although another clue meant another death. Don't get me wrong. I wasn't some weak b-tch that wanted to sit and wait things out. I wanted to kill first and ask questions later, but I had no idea who to go after and it was driving me crazy.
When I wasn't trying to figure out who was the crazy ass killer on the loose, I was busy doing my head honcho duties which actually wasn't that bad. Stefano was right. Being head honcho was quite some work, but it was fun at the same time. Most of it was meeting with other gang leaders of my caliber, keeping peace, negotiating deals, delegating tasks and most importantly having a great time. I had been partying and going out more than usual over the past two months. It was almost necessary. In order to withhold my power, I had to be in the limelight. I had to meet up with other gang leaders in V.I.P. sections of clubs and drink, smoke and converse almost every night.
Before becoming head honcho, I was attempting to stop drinking and smoking so much but now that was basically out of the door. It came with the social life, but even though I did smoke and drink, I tried to make sure I never lost my head. I barely got sh-tfaced or high out of my mind unless I knew I was around good company or celebrating.
Delaney would come and club with me on occasion, but over the past two months, she had been helping Shawn at the clinic. So her nights out were limited. She was committed to practicing medicine and according to Shawn, she was doing well. Sometimes Shawn would leave her unattended to care for patients and she would do just as well as him. She was a fast learner and loving everything about medical sh-t. She would me sh-t that I couldn't understand and I'd just laugh and nod. It was cute to see her so passionate about something though. I was happy for her. We were both doing something we loved and somehow, we still made time for each other.
As for my friends, as usual, we were always together. Not much had changed in that aspect. The only problem was that now that I was head honcho, we needed a new chief. Unfortunately, none of our members were mature enough to be in that spot and that showed a lot. Rafael, Lin and Leo were immature as f-ck but the rest of our crew seemed to be much worst. I was trying to keep track of everyone and although many people wanted the title, no one deserved it. At least not yet.
Anyways, tonight was a special night. It was finally the night of my celebration. I was starting to think that people forgot to f-cking plan it. Becoming head honcho was a huge deal and the celebration for it was even bigger. When they finally announced my party, I was ecstatic and when they told me they had rented out the f-cking Staple Center for it, I got even more enthusiastic. And when I finally arrived in the building with Delaney on my arm, thousands of people clapping and cheering for me, I damn near cried.
Everyone was at the f-cking party, my parents, Giana, my friends, the Family, head honchos and dons from all around the f-cking globe. It was the biggest gangster party that one could dream of. Everyone was flashy in their dopest attire, drinking, laughing, smoking, dancing and enjoying themselves. It was like a big ass family reunion but with a lot of crazy people and guns everywhere. There was enough food to feed a village, enough alcohol to knock everyone in a coma, lots of f-cking drugs and where there's gangsters, you know there's a lot of f-cking women. Leo and Rafael didn't know what to do with themselves. Their tongues were nearly hanging out of their f-cking mouths.
"Damn, I didn't bring enough rubbers for this many girls," Rafael told me as if he was in paradise. We were standing by the punch that was obviously spiked. Once I took a sip, I jumped back but I kept on drinking. It was my night. I might as well get twisted as f-ck. Rafael wrapped his arm around my shoulder as he scanned the room. I did too. The amount of people here was overwhelming. The party started an hour ago and I had already shaken hundreds of hands and talked to several dons. It was kind of intimidating. "Look at that. An ocean full of p-ssy and I'm about to dive in."
I chuckled and shook my head at him. My eyes were focused on Delaney. She was chatting with Mia, Shawn and Leo. It seemed like Leo was getting on her f-cking nerves. She kept pushing her and rolling her eyes. Mia seemed entertained though. I wondered what the idiots were talking about. Rafael walked away without saying a word, trying to get some girl's attention. I walked over to my aggravated girlfriend and put Leo in a playful chokehold from behind. "Are you annoying my girl?"
Leo laughed loudly and nudged me off her. I laughed and walked over to Delaney who was laughing as well. "You know I love annoying the hell out of Delaney. It's an opportunity that I can never pass up. She knows she loves it."
"I hate it. You're the annoying gay sister I never had nor asked for," Delaney replied back as she folded her arms. I looked from her to Leo and then over to Mia. That's when I looked back to Leo and then to Mia again. Were they giving googly eyes to each other? Leo and Mia? Mia and Leo? F-cking never! No wonder Delaney was annoyed. I doubt she liked the fact that those two were into each other. It was plain weird and unexpected.
"Well, f-ck you too," Leo told Delaney as she hooked her arm with mine. "I'm going to go get your girlfriend high as hell and there's nothing you can do about it."
"I don't care, asshole!"
Leo stuck her tongue out at Delaney before pulling me away from my irritated girlfriend, Mia and Shawn. I waved goodbye and headed outside with Leo. When we got outside, I noticed Lin was already rolling the blunts. She was working on her fourth one and she furrowed her eyebrows when we walked up. "Where the hell is Rafael?"
"He's too busy trying to use every condom he has in his wallet," I told Lin as I carefully grabbed a blunt from the hood of her car.
"That means more for us," Leo said with a shrug as she passed me a lighter. I thanked her silently as I slowly lit the rolled substance. When I hit it, I closed my eyes tight as it felt like all the air left my body. I bent over and began coughing so much that I felt like I had to vomit. Leo and Lin were cracking up as if I wasn't dying right in front of them.
"Where the hell did you guys get this from," I asked once I was done coughing. My eyes were watery from all the coughing. After one hit, I was already feeling a head high. I took a deep breath and took another pull. "F-ck, this sh-t is really good."
"Jamaica. We had to get you the best for such a special night. One of the guys went over there for a vacation so we got him to smuggle it back for us. It's some good sh-t. Just don't ask where he hid it at," Leo told me as she took a puff as well.
Soon, all three of us was just standing there smoking and laughing about anything that was said. I was leant against Lin's car for support as I closed my eyes. For a solid five minutes, I had been laughing and I forgot what it was even about. "Man, she's so f-cking gone," Leo told Lin.
"We're all high as f-ck. Damn, we better get back in there before Delaney and Jenny think we're doing something we're not supposed to," Lin said as she nudged me. I stopped laughing and turned my head towards her. She giggled. "Why the hell are you looking at me like that?"
"I'm f-cked up, man," I told her as I covered my face with my hands.
"I know, let's head back in," she continued to urge me.
I slowly lifted myself off the car and began walking back inside. The walk back inside felt like forever. Maybe it was because Leo, Lin and I were walking so f-cking slow. When we got back in, I began looking desperately for Delaney. I didn't like leaving her alone but she didn't like smoke so I kind of had too. Right when I saw Delaney, someone walked into me. I dramatically cocked my head to the side and grabbed my shoulder. "Ow!"
A laugh came from the person in front of me. "Oh, sorry! F-ck, wait," the woman stopped laughing and put her hands on my shoulders. "You're Andy De Palma! F-ck, are you okay? That was totally my bad. This is your celebration and I'm here walking into you like a dumbass. I'm sorry, I'm kind of drunk. And you look really f-cking high. I don't think it's healthy for your eyes to be that red."
I laughed as if she was doing a comedy set. For some reason, it seemed like she was talking at lightning speed. I couldn't tell if she really was or if I was just high as a kite. "Your lips are really red. Nice lipstick. What shade is that?"
"I didn't take you for the type to wear lipstick," she told me with a small laugh.
"My girlfriend likes lipstick though! That shade would look better on her. Oops! I didn't mean that. I mean...you are a gorgeous woman. I just...um, I have a girlfriend and she's gorgeous too."
The woman continued laughing and her blue eyes pierced mine. Wait, she really was f-cking gorgeous. How did I not notice that before? I peered closer into her deep blue eyes and scrunched my eyebrows. It was like they were taking me on some adventure. I saw myself surfing in her eyes and I didn't stop staring into them until the brunette waved her hand in front of my face. "Did you color in your eyes too?"
"Excuse me?"
"Like lipstick...but with your eyes."
The woman once again was laughing at me. She probably thought I was so ridiculous. "I heard a lot about you, but I never heard that you were this funny."
"What'd you hear about me," I asked curiously. My eyes peered down to her body and though my eyes wanted to wander, I quickly looked back up to her face.
She shrugged her shoulders and strategically crossed her arms so I wouldn't peek down to her cleavage. "Well, I heard you're really nice. You're a great leader. You're brave, young and all the girls always talk about how gorgeous you are. I thought they were overreacting, but now I see they weren't."
I smirked and blushed lightly. "Wait, so, the girls?"
"The girls from Sacramento. I'm part of the Family but I'm from the Sacramento sanction. I actually just moved to Santa Monica. I was hoping you had room for me. I was expecting to meet you more formally but here we are."
"You're a long way from home. Why'd you come down this way?"
"Well, our head honcho is sh-tty. He's a misogynistic asshole. And like I said, the girls said you were gorgeous and I wanted to find out if it was true. Also, I heard you were in need of a chief and guess what I was back in Sacramento?"
"A chief?"
"The best damn one," the woman said with a confident grin. She reached her hand out for me to shake it. "Eva Biagi."
"Eva Biagi. I like it," I told her as I shook her hand. "Listen, I'm high right now but I'd love to try you out as a chief. Give me your number. We'll plan out a date and see if we'd make a good match."
"Are you sure you have a girlfriend because you made that sound really suggestive," she half-joked.
"I didn't mean it that way. My girlfriend would kill the both of us and just so you know, the other chiefs would have to approve of you too so they will also be at our 'date.' And just because I like you doesn't mean they will. They have strong personalities."
"Everyone likes me," Eva said simply. We exchanged numbers and she excused herself. I stood there for a few minutes confused on what I was doing before I had run into her. Oh yeah! Delaney!
I walked towards Delaney's way. She was standing there talking to my little sister. When I approached them, they both stopped talking. "Well, look who's back," Delaney said as she crossed her arms. She seemed annoyed, maybe because I had left her alone for so long, but where was Mia?
"Speaking of the damn devil," Giana said sassily. I squinted my eyes at her and she squinted right back at me. Little brat. "I'll leave you two alone." Giana walked off but not before making sure she brushed against me aggressively. I reached back and pushed the back of her head with my palm as if she was some kind of doll.
I got a laugh from Delaney and it was nice to see her lighten up for a second. She seemed on edge all damn night. "Why are you two always so aggressive with each other? You almost broke her neck."
"She's a brat. Where's Mia?"
"Probably f-cking Leo. They walked off somewhere together. I don't know how I feel about it. It's kind of cute but it's kind of not. It's mostly weird because Leo has become my aggravating sister while Mia and I have always been like sisters. So, it's like two of my sisters are into each other. But I can't really say anything because I did stuff with Mia so..."
I stopped Delaney from rambling by moving behind her and wrapping my arms around her. I kissed her hair and nuzzled my face into her neck. "Let Mia and Leo have fun. Don't let it worry you."
"It's not worrying me. You know what is worrying me?"
"Hmm?"
"That blue-eyed b-tch that gave you her number."
"Hey, she's nice!"
"And hot. And you were nearly drooling while you were staring at her. So, what's the deal? What was so important that you two had to exchange numbers?"
"She moved here from Sacramento and wants to possibly be our new chief. I have to see what Lin, Leo and Rafael think about her, but she seems really nice. Trust me, darlin'. It's nothing like that. You get so jealous when you're on your period. It's so cute." I kissed her neck but she didn't react. I sighed and kissed her shoulder. "Please, don't let it get to you. You trust me, right?"
"I trust you," she said so softly that I barely heard it.
"I'm going to go grab a drink, do you want one?"
"No, Andrea. I'm fine. I'll just stand here by myself for the fifth time tonight."
F-ck, she was so f-cking b-tchy on her period. I knew she was pissed when she used my full name. "Okay, I won't go anywhere. What do you want to do? Do you want to dance or what?"
"I don't know. Go get a drink. I'll be fine."
"Alright, I'll be right back. Just two minutes, darlin'." I gave Delaney a kiss on the cheek before walking towards the bar.

Do you guys ship Mia and Leo?
Do you think Delaney has a right to feel worried/jealous about Eva?
