A/N Attention! Mature language ahead (more than usual anyway) :))) Enjoy Nick's P.O.V., I tried hard writing it to show his character, what's happening inside his head. He's a good guy, I think :))))

Scratch. Jump. Bite. Claw. Run. Bite. Hit. Jump. That's the course of actions that is on repeat with me right now, but the only thing on my mind is still Emily. How the fuck did those dickheads manage to drag me out of the house? And they are not letting me in again, while my precious Emily is trapped inside doing god knows what. I hope she got to the safe room with my mother just in time, because if not... Goddess, I refuse to think about any other outcome. My Emily, my precious gift. My mate. My love.

I don't know how many rogues I have killed during these minutes outside, but I promised myself, that I'd get every single one of them. How dare they. In all honesty, the situation was outrageous. Even excluding the fact, that the reason for all this mess was Emily, for rogues to gather in such a large group and attack a pack is punishable by death. But the fact, that Emily is the true target of a one crazy Alpha rogue makes my blood boil. And I still can't figure out his motives. Logically, if he uses one healer to his advantage, why does he need another one? It is obvious, that after everything my Emily went through, she would not help that bastard out of her free will, that leaves another answer - they want to harm her, and I can't allow that.

I was making my way towards the house again, trying to get to Emily and make sure she's ok, but two more rogues jumped right at me. I clenched my jaw around one of the rogues front paw and twisted my head simultaneously jumping up and kicking another one with both of my hind legs. As soon as both of them were down, I turned to the house again, and that's when I heard it - two shots. Two gunfire shots. That means Emily had to use the gun, which means she's still in danger. FUCK!

I darted towards the house, but another rogue slammed into my side bringing me to the ground instantly. I have lost my concentration and that made me vulnerable in the eyes of an enemy. With a feral growl I stood up and jumped into fight. I was fighting with everything that I had, my time was running out, but they kept coming and coming, like freaking cockroaches from under an old fridge. My patience was running out. I needed do get to my mate.

I fought and fought, soon my father joined me, and then my mother. If they were here, that meant that Emily was either in the safe room or gone. But my mother should have been in the safe room as well, together with Emily, and if she's here, then where is Emily? The thoughts of different outcomes were swirling in my mind and driving me crazy, but there was no chance for me to get to the house and see for myself. It looked like the rogues were guarding the house with all they had, cutting our chances of getting in to near zero.

I must admit, seeing my family fight one next to another was a sight. Both me and my father were huge and black, thanks to the alpha blood. My mother's wolf black and white and slightly smaller, her every movement was gracious yet lethal. Our bodies were covered in blood of our enemies, except for a small gash on my mother's head, we were all pretty much intact. Apart from a small wound on my hind leg which didn't bother me at all. It would heal fast and I had to concentrate on Emily. Not only she was weak comparing to us, but she was slightly disabled and with a baby on the way. This whole ordeal was bad for her. And I as her mate am totally failing in protecting her.

I don't know for how long we've been fighting, not more then some 15 minutes maybe, but it felt like years. Suddenly my mother shifted into her human form and turned to me screaming:

"Go through the house and find her! She didn't make it to the safe room! Go!"

And with that she shifted into her wolf again and lounged at a couple of rogues. My blood ran cold in my veins. She didn't make it to the safe room...

With newly found energy I jumped right into the pile of rogues blocking my way to the same window I was lured out of, and started basically clawing my way into the house. It took me only a couple of minute to do that and when I was finally inside, I was greeted my the sight of an abandoned room. The furniture was scattered around. In the middle of the room was a puddle of blood with smudges of it leading towards the exit. I neared the puddle and took a whiff of the blood. I almost vomited at the stench - rogue. Then I turned to take another look around and saw one of Emilie's crutches lying on the ground near another smudge of blood - my mothers. So that's where she had hit her head. Ok...

I took a deep breath trying to calm myself down and concentrated on following my mates scent. I saw that the smudges of rogue's blood followed the scent of my mate, and it made me angry. He was toying with her. Even if she had hit him bad, he would still be faster than my poor mate. I only hoped, that I could get to her on time and rip the fucker's throat out.

I followed both their scent's through the house, down the back porch, through the back yard and into the forest. Goddess, it was bad. Emily wouldn't be able to navigate through the thick woods in the dark. I increased my pace and it wasn't very long until I heard them. I looked up from the ground and the sight in front of me made me freeze for a split second. There they were, the ugly fucker and her, my princess, facing each other, and the fucker had Emily's gun in his hand. With a sadistic laugh his hand started moving up and I realised, that if I didn't stop him in time, everything would be over. So I ran. I pushed myself as hard as I could, and when I was mere 2 meters from him, I jumped, but I was late and my ears filled with the bang of a gunshot.

Everything that happened starting from that moment was like in slow motion. My canines connected to the rogues throat, the gun from his hand fell to the ground. I turned my head roughly, extracting the windpipe from the fuckers neck and looked at Emily, that was still falling to the ground. Her mouth opened wide and a high pitched scream erupted from her mouth, and at the same moment blinding white light flew out of what seemed to be every pour on her skin. I rushed to her side, to soften the fall, even though I couldn't see clearly in all this light, I glided on the ground and managed just in time to cushion her landing.

She was convulsing and screaming nonstop, her hands clutching her stomach, her eyes unseeing, as they were rolled so much, that I couldn't see any colour. I gently pushed myself from under her and took a quick glance around - the white light was coming off of her in waves and flowing through the forest for a couple more seconds and than slowly vanished. I was lost and confused, but decided to shift to tend to the bullet hole in her shoulder. As soon as I shifted I smothered the hair out of her face, my own stricken with grief and tears streaming down. My mate was hurting bad and I was at loss of what to do next. I tore a piece of cloth from her t-shird and tried applying pressure to her wound to stop the bleeding.

Thankfully I wasn't alone for long, maybe a couple of minutes tops. Emily was still screaming, but not as hard as before, and that brought some conflicting emotions out. I looked around and saw both my parents rushing towards us from the same direction I came.

"Nick! Is Emily ok? What's happening?" my father screamed reaching me first, then my mother.

"She's shot. I don't know what else is happening, she is clearly in pain and I don't know what to do!" I was frantic, squeezing Emily's battered body to my chest. She was still trembling, but not as horribly as before. Her screams turned into whimpers, and I was tempted to join her out of sheer desperation, but I held it in. She needed me, I had to keep it together.

My mother suddenly pushed my father out of the way and started examining Emily's body. She took one fast glance at her shoulder, then felt her hands, then her stomach, but when she reached her thighs he cussed out loud. I have never heard my mother cussing, so I guess it was bad. I looked at her hands and they were covered in some fluid.

"Nick, she's in labour!" She screamed and I felt panic strike my heart. It was too soon, she wasn't strong enough.

"Make it stop!" I screamed in response. She just shook her head remorsefully and started pulling her pants down.

"It's too late, we have to deliver now."

Then my mother started giving out instructions. We have turned Emily so that her back rested against my chest. Mother finally got rid of her pants and threw them to the side spreading Emily's legs apart.

"Shit, I can see the head already... Jonathan, go to the house, bring me as much towels or sheets as you can and hurry! Nick, hold her knees!"

My father rushed away meanwhile with trembling hands I grabbed Emily's knees and held them still while my mother applied some pressure to my mate's stomach.

"Emily, if you hear me I need you to push hard, now!"

I don't know if she did hear my mother or if it was just some natural instinct, but Emily's body tensed and her head fell back, her nails dug into the ground.

"That's it girl! Don't stop! She's coming!" Another painful cry escaped Emily and I felt tears streaming down my face. I wish I could take the pain away, my love...

After a couple of long agonising minutes a piercing cry sounded through the forest and my mother lifted a tiny little child in her arms. The chord was still attached to her body, connecting her to Emily. My father suddenly appeared behind my mother with a pile of sheets. With a fast move of his nails he severed the chord and took the baby out of my mother's arms, wrapping her in one of the sheets. My mother turned back to Emily to deliver the placenta.

"Come on, girl, you did so good, a little more..." she muttered under her node and applied some more pressure to the stomach. Emily's breath hitched, the screams dies on her lips, her eyes started closing.

"Mother!" I was in full blown panic mode, I couldn't loose her now, not ever. She couldn't die...

"Nick! Listen to me! You have to mark her now!" she screamed at me while tucking a sheet between Emily's legs, taking her knees out of my hands.

"But this will kill her!" I screamed in agitation.

"Or heal her. That is the only chance we have now, son. Do it!"

And so I did. With tears still streaming down my face I sunk my canines into Emily's neck and marked her. I felt a surge of power rush right through me, another wave of white light coming out of Emily, surrounding us with it's glow. My mother fell on her backside, covering her eyes with both hands, my father turned his back to us, protecting the baby from whatever this was. Along with the power I felt pain rushing through my veins, pain so blinding that I shut my eyes from the force of it. It was her pain, my mates pain, both physical and emotional, so I accepted it without a hint of complain. If it could keep Emily alive, I would go through it a million times more. I could understand her emotions better now, my poor mate. The hurt of rejection of her parents, the betrayal, the worry for all of us and for the baby, but also the love for her daughter and... me. For the first time I received some proof that her love for me was as strong as mine for her. She did feel the bond. It was a turn for happy tears to escape my eyes now. And then suddenly it was all over. Emily's body went limp in my arms, my canines detached from her skin. I licked the bite marks clean and looked up. Both my parents were stunned to say the least. Quickly my mother stood up and rushed to Emily's side to check her pulse. Her heart was beating unsteadily, but she was alive and breathing.

"We need to get her and the baby to the hospital and soon... Let's move!" She commanded again. We wrapped Emily's lower body in the rest of the sheets, that soon were soaked in her blood, and I lifted her up in my arms. It was time to move.

But we didn't get far. As soon as we reached the backyard we were met with a brewing war. It looked like a scene from a movie - two armies of wolf's were standing on both sides of the yard, both armies had their leaders, our's had Nathan and Andrew by their side, the other had a person I figured was the Mayor and behind him were two older people, that were definitely human.

"And finally they arrive! Welcome to the party! Where is my son?"

A/N I know, another author's note, sorry :)

I just wanted to say thanks for reading, because I just realised, that we have reached 12k... It is the best B-day present one can get (yep, it was my birthday yesterday and I celebrated hard, so I apologise for the mistakes, there are probably a lot:)))) )

Don't forget to vote and yeah, we are close to the end! Wohooo!
