Nora's POV

There was no way in hell I'd stop pacing. Yes, well, maybe being heavily pregnant should stop me from doing it but it hadn't. The rush of my thoughts were too obscure to describe and my stupid, pathetic mind could only imagine the worse. Even Ollie was frantically pacing with me. I hadn't even noticed him until he startled me from my bedside after Damon's departure.

I was still in the bedroom, pacing, when I heard the noise of scratching. I stopped dead in my tracks and halted the twirling of my mother's chain from around my neck. Luckily Ollie had became quiet too, likely from copying me. June perked our ears and found the source as coming from above. No.

There were guards trailing outside I knew, so despite assuming I went to check and saw the mangled corpses upon the earthen ground. A scream came up naturally since everything graphic made my stomach turn lately. Luckily, my hand covered the scream before it was even voiced. My feet took me back away from the window, and the sound of my heart pounding filled my ears. Ollie gave a low whimper and snuggled by my legs from below.

More footsteps joined the previous from above. June...

I tried remembering the old layout before it was ever remade. Xavier wanted to make it exact, so that meant the only way in for them was to break through the attic's small sun deck and down the ladder, into the house. The attic was suppose to be right above me which meant they had to come down into the end of this hallway. Cazzo.

My thoughts scattered at what to do. I didn't even know where the other three girls were, whether they were unconscious or not. June, please, I can't.

Step aside sissy, June said as she swapped my control for hers, my eyes burning a radiant gold hue as seen from the vanity's reflection.

She tied our hair into a stiff ponytail and waddled ourselves out as best as she could with Ollie of course trailing silently. With our hair swaying to each side, she peeked round the edge of our door and checked to see if they had opened the attics door. They had not. Angels bless them.

June was leading us down the staircase when there a vicious low growl from below. Ollie being just as possessive as Damon, gave a returning vicious growl. Ah fuck.

Language.

I made our ascend back up when the sound of a wolfs feet padding the wood came closer. I took him to the second floor before dashing to take one of the decorative daggers we had. Making Ollie sit a good distance away, the wolf was just coming up when I, standing besides and waiting patiently, rammed it through its head. The grey mutt didn't even give a whimper when it fell. Ollie for some reason did, yelping a bit. Genetically altered my ass.

There was an encore of howls, coming from above and below, and outside and in.

There were more coming up when I took no time in hurrying up the staircase back to the third floor. I got to my old bedroom, still painted in the same old royal navy I remember with the old clothing I promised to rearrange thrown over the chair to my desk. I think here was a plate of old crumbs on my bed too, Ollie cleaning it real quick though.

Not even bothing to lock the door, I cradled my stomach when tearing open my closet for the box I always kept here. Finding it stashed away under my heels felt even better than finding money in my pocket. Donning the thick yellow gloves, I took it out with great caution, smirking to myself. Ollie sniffed curiously, tongue panting out his mouth.

The door was thrown open when the first of the liquid WolfsBane was shoot out of my modified Nerf gun while I sat on my chair with the clothing pile. It was only two wolfs at first and then I heard more coming.

Rising, I turned to a leaping Ollie and undid the clasp on the homemade grenade bombs, which I happened to make in 7th grade, before striding to the door with a yawn and tossing it out. I closed and held the door in place when the eruption went off. Until I heard the last whimper died, I didn't let go of the door and when I did, I standing on my bed and undoing the escape hatch. The old rebel me had it constructed from watching YouTube DIYs whenever the boys were out with the girls on dates, where I happened to be very unwelcome. The caretaker was a drunk who loved her bottle and sleep more to care about the ruckus.

Luckily the twirled rope ladder was still in tact. I tested it strength before climbing just to be sure.

It would take me up to one of the old hallways Xavier never had reconstructed since it wasn't exactly destroyed. No one went to the old remains because it was sealed off. From outside it looked to be a part of the beautiful brown and black manor, but no halls crossed its path.

It had a ghastly, musty stench but after shutting it and getting Ollie up too, I held a scarf to my mouth to keep from coughing too much. My eyes strained to adjust but June drew from Dylan's reservoir for assistance. If I followed this hall correct and made a right and went down the old foyer, I'd reach where the old opening was at one time. Which now luckily happened to be the garage. I still remember leaving the old tin sheet of metal over the opening on wall like it was yesterday. No one went the garage, ever. From here I'd escape out in one of Zayn's vintage cars hopefully.

Despite nearly tripping and catching myself on the banister, I kept the run in my strides until I saw the shininess like a beacon. The only sounds heard could be Ollie's collar tag, his panting and my own rigid breathing. It took some effect to move the metal without making much collateral noise but when I had, I felt the dread in my stomach before feeling it tear at my rounded belly.

A shriek left me when I fell back through the opening, the tin smashing the ground. Ollie began growling loudly, biting and snapping his teeth after leaping in front of me. There on the ground, clutching the bloody scratches, my breathes were becoming too labored with fear as the wolves made the crossing into the dusty darkness. Like promised, their eyes were bloodshot and metallic canines prolonged with foam.

June wanted to growl her dominance but our bond was feeling too weak for the exchange of power. WolfsBane on the talons, why am I even surprised?

My head spun as they were closing in but suddenly paused to direct their attention to the snarling wolves behind them. There were dots spotting my vision but I saw the color of her fur. Recognized the beautiful mellow blonde fur which seemed to be white under the bright light and the other's ashen grey.

My mouth grew dry when she shifted nakedly, holding my head in her lap. Last I remember her, she was unhappy when whining about how possessive her two Mates were becoming on the night of my birthday celebration. Today Emma looked worse and so worried, it wounded me further. "Drink this."

She tilted a vial at my lips and I drank it, feeling the burn course my veins before my head cleared a moment later. "André?"

Emma shook her head sadly. Opening my eyes, I saw his corpse with a single bite wound to his almost decapitated neck next to the opening in the wall, facing the outside as if to defend. "I'm sorry."

"I-We need to get out now," June howled her loss while I clutched my stomach when trying to rise. There was too much pain and I would've bashed my head if Emma hadn't caught me. Ollie, who stood to a side, curled up and began to coax her head against my stomach.

"The vial had counteraction to the WolfsBane on their talons, it'll make you groggily but it should help with the pain. The scratches are superficial and aren't life threatening," Emma loomed my arm around herself. "We need to get you out."

"The girls?"

"I had a few of my more loyal warriors stand watch by their doors. They should be safe," Emma said, trying to get me to take a step.

"What do you mean by more loyal? What's going on? Who the fuck are these assholes?" I retort, groaning shortly after asking for the pain around my stomach was now throbbing. I later groan again as she helps me past Andrés body and out into the lit garage.

"It's him, Nora. He's lost it. He's absolutely fucking-," Emma said before Ollie began barking nonstop and directed our attention to another herd of wolves between us and the closet car.

Emma swore and it was then I felt something smack me on the back of my head. I heard my name being called but my eyes closed from the heaviness. Emma gave a snarl before something supposedly silenced her. I fell like a feather into someone else's arm. Ollie's growls grew before there were sounds that suggested she was being hurt. Then shortly after, came the painful sound of Ollie's whimpers before being put out. ...
