~Above is our boy Cole~

She never would've thought that she'd end up in this position, of any place she could've come to lay that night, she never thought she'd end up there. But somehow she had, having come enveloped in warmth, eyes gazing into the white heat of the fire while her back was so gently rubbed with fingers so large yet so delicate. Her head felt heavy and it wasn't because she needed sleep, she was in fact on her third bottle of booze and she was only now beginning to feel the effects. She had been drunk before, knew how it felt and what it could do. She didn't care in that moment though, sitting in Darricks lap, she used his shirt as a makeshift blanket while his finger danced across her back, drawing circles over her shoulders and spine.

She couldn't believe that they had spent all day together, talking about anything under the sun, collecting wood which was mostly Darrick grabbing wood while she sat on his shoulder while they chatted. They had spent time together at lunch and had now ended up drinking together. Tess being considerably more drunk then Darrick at that point as she was using alcohol to numb her nerves to what the night could lead to and found alcohol would probably give her the confidence she needed in-front of Darrick. He was so god damn good looking, so kind and genuinely sweet. She had her suspicions that there was a chance he was playing her, if he was he was doing a good job at it cause she was swooning in his lap. Soaking in every touch and leaning into him whenever she got the chance, wanting to be near him and he seemed to have the same idea. Always touching her, carefully pulling her closer against his abdomen whenever she'd move too far away. He played with her hair and ran his fingers down her arms and whenever he stopped, she would miss his touch and try get his attention to continue

And he would.

Jace was sat next to the two, leant back in his chair with a beanie on that had been dragged down over his eyes. He wasn't drinking tonight, instead munching on some snags they had cooked up for dinner. He was in a brighter mood then earlier, having eaten and had some water he looked lively as he talked to Austin. Austin was sun burnt. Having no shirt on where he sat and even in the darkness she could see the glow of his red skin. He hadn't put sun block on and had spent most the day without a shirt on, showing off thinking he looked good infornt of the girls but not thinking about the burning sun above. He didn't seemed bothered by his red skin, either ignoring the pain or sitting with it. He sat cross legged in front of the fire as he listened to Jace talk about school beside him while sipping on a beer. He was extra quiet which seemed weird, unlike him to be so quiet which she had noticed he had been more of lately. She wanted to ask but didn't know how she'd get the chance to have alone time with him, maybe once they got home she could speak to him. Ask if he was okay.

But in the mean time, she was enjoying her time with Darrick whilst being drunk for the first time in a very long time. It was their last night and she was going to enjoy it. Wrapping her arms around Darricks large finger as it was trying to snake down her arm, she giggled softly as he looked down to her and gave his finger a wiggle

"Excuse me?" He smirked and moved his finger some more to try and shake her off but she simply held on tighter not wanting him to leave her. She had always been a clingy drunk and especially now she just needed his touch, to feel his warmth and let her bones warm against it.

"Noo let me just hug you" she pouts her bottom lip up at the dark headed boy, his hair was out and was like a nest about his head from the lake still. Not having had the time to brush it since he'd been spending every last second with her. He rolled his eyes at her as she had his finger trapped between her arms but let her have it, sipping on his beer with a hint of a smile etched across his face as he swallowed. Giving in to her he began to use that finger she held to rub lightly at her stomach, which made her eyes slowly close enjoying every touch. Her insides knitted beneath his finger and ached, making her bite her lip at the feeling. She quickly brought her drink back to her lips to finish, letting the rancid liquid roll down the back of her throat into her stomach then raised her bottle, wanting another.

"Slow down there cow girl, your gonna end up vomiting" Austin chuckled having seen the small human finish her cup. She gave a glare and rolled her eyes, of course Austin had to say something

"ill be fiine. Hand me another one, I can't even feel anything yet" she smiles confidently, a toothy grin that spread to her flushed ears, which makes Austin laugh and shake his head with amusement. Handing Darrick the tiny bottle which fit between the giants fingers like a toy, Darrick held out the bottle for the small girl in his lap which she happily takes and opens.

"Id keep an eye on your little girl if I were you, she's sprint drinking" Austin smirked and raises his own bottle toward Tess before taking a swig

"What's that even meant to mean?"

"Your drinking too quickly, like a sprint. It's meant to be a marathon, slow and steady" Austin explained, arching a brow toward her. Was he teasing her or trying to protect her from becoming a drunken mess.

"I'm not sprinting.. I'm fine" she rolled her eyes at Austin who was seemingly eyeing her with a cocky look reflected back in his eyes. She huffed and shifted closer into Darrick, keeping her bottle in her lap to make a point that she wasn't sprinting and didn't become like Jace the night before.

Looking about the campfire from her spot hidden against Darricks abdomen and loose shirt, she could see Katy and Ava were now sat together, having reunited as Cole was now with Austin and Jace, chucking twigs into the fire as he rummaged through the grass around him, sipping on a beer in one hand and breaking sticks with the other.

"Well tonight is our last night, I reckon it's time to celebrate the right way" Cole said finally as he turned his attention away from the fire, earning the groups attention. They were all tired from their big swim today, cheeks a shade pink and shoulders redder. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a little bag wrapped in paper. Giving the baggy a shake in the air infront of him, causing the group to eye him as he pulled out a twisted wad of paper.

"Cole, no" Darrick shook his head "come on I thought you were done with smoking" Darrick leant forward a little in his chair, Tess noticing Darricks large hand moving around her small body protectively. Holding her as he leant forward trying to snatch the blunt from Coles hand, his nose scrunched while Cole pulled away

"Hey~ it's a special occasion"

"Pass one here"

"Austin, not infornt of.."

"Of Tess? Pfft, I'm sure she's seen it all before. You know it's very popular in the humans quarters" Austin rolled his eyes toward the larger boy that held the human, Tess's brows furrowing and lips pursing at Austin's words. Looking up toward Darrick she could see his cheeks turn red and a vein appear in his forehead, his jaw noticeably clenching as he stared toward Austin and Cole who now had their hands on a light and were puffing away at their blunts.

"That's disgusting.." Katy spoke from across the fire, nose scrunched shifting away from the smoke that twisted into the air. Weed wasn't popular among the giants, and was very much illegal if found on a person. She could tell from the disgust that had come over the others faces, spotting Ava eyeing Tess and the boys that smoked.

"I don't know why you'd smoke that disgusting human.. crap" Ava spoke then toward Cole, her eyes narrowed and mouth twisted to the side appearing annoyed with the blond haired boy

"Don't be a hypocrite, your drinking alcohol" Austin butted in, making avas eyes widen and her face blush red. She could feel Darrick fuming over her but didn't dare look up to him, too focused on looking down at her bottle of alcohol, twisting it between her fingers

"Yeah but~ that's different" Ava said back, making Tess sink into Darrick more to hide against his shirt, using the wall of fabric as a shield to hide from the arguing giants. She felt uncomfortable, hearing them speak of her own species, speaking as if she wasn't there. Talking about how disgusting something humans created so long ago, which had managed to find its way to this world and into the hands of giants. When they found out what humans had, instantly was considered an abomination to giant society and made illegal.

"Not really it's all from the same species~"

"But~"

"Guys... quit it" Jace snapped, resting a hand on his forehead with a groan, squeezing at the bridge of his nose. Clearly annoyed but the conversation when letting out a groan

Tess sat back with her hands clasping the bottle in her lap before bringing it up to down the entire contents of the bottle of human made substance, making her stomach turn as the alcohol hit her stomach. Burning through the bottle, she found herself almost gag on the taste before chucking the bottle over the side of Darricks knee she leant back and let her eyes fall away from the group and cuddle into the warmth of Darrick. He was warm and comfortable and her head began to spin so she found comfort in being held

It felt as if the earth were rocking beneath her and her mind began drifting in and out like the tide, trying to focus on Darrick instead of the other giants since they seemed to only think of her human ways as being gross. Her vision wavered so she kept her eyes closed for a second longer to regain stability, physical and emotional. Feeling as if she might cry and laugh at the same time. There was one thing she was sure of. He was there... he was all around her, sitting in a camper chair in the cool night air, moonlight pouring onto his skin. In that moment, she knew they would be great together, and he was so beautiful.

"Wow" she grinned up at him, a little thankful that he didn't hear her an

Smiling to herself she turned her eyes up to look at the giant, seeing he was still watching Cole and Austin as they sat smoking with a stone cold look growing across his face. She could feel his hand moving further around her entire body the longer the night proceeded, holding her, keeping her as if she were his. Her heart warmed and her stomach began to flutter, not caring anymore that she was staring at the larger boy.

She found herself locking eyes with him at some point without even realising, seeing him smile made her entire body warm with a blush down to her toes.

"What are you looking at?"

"Nothing" she hummed lowly, turning her eyes away quickly, her vision felt sluggish and head becoming heavy. Her eyes felt heavy like bricks and she didn't take notice as Darricks hand came around her to tuck her into his side, her eyes opening to find that he was walking somewhere. Feeling her head sway with every one of his steps and quickly closed her eyes once more, only to reopen her eyes to find they were in a new location.. a tent.

"Stay here okay, don't move" Darricks voice sounded so distant, but she definitely heard him and gave a slow nod finding herself sinking down into the soften of what she could only guess to be an oversized pillow. It was heavenly soft and her entire body was enveloped in the soft cloud.

"Oookay, I promise. I won't move" she giggled and rolled over slowly and let her eyes open to see Darrick hovering over her, his hair haloed about his handsome face, eyes glowing a golden brown. She felt as if she lost her breath at the sight above her, he was good like in all his glory. She was breathless as she pressed back into the pillow, feeling intimidated as he looked down at her, eyes travelling over her body before lifting away as he left. Letting out a breath slowly, she closed her eyes feeling her head throb and her heart.

She forgot how much of a light weight she could be.

Darrick stepped back into the tent quietly, needing to duck his head when climbing in to avoid from catching himself on the top of the tent since he was too tall to stand completely straight. Walking in, he moved over toward his sleeping bag where he'd left a drunken Tess upon his pillow. He'd gone to collect the girls little blanket from in her own tent for the small human, not wanting the girl to get too cold when she stayed with him. When arriving he quickly pulled off his jacket to leave himself in simply a black shirt and tracksuits. He smoothed down his black hair, giving it a quick comb through with his finger before stepping out of his shoes to be more comfortable for sleeping. He usually would just chill in his boxers at home, but wouldn't dare with Tess around.

With a stretch he slowly wandered toward his sleeping bag with her small blanket being held between his fingers, finding his heart beating harder than usual as he came to crouch down by his sleeping bag, coming to rest on his knees as to be careful to not disturb Tess

"Here I got~" he moved his hands towards the human, only to pause when he saw the absence of the blond human girl "Tess?" Placing down the small blanket carefully before him, his dark eyes quickly scanned about the tent around him. She wasn't there. His heart stopped beating and his eyes snapped wider, his entire body coming to a sudden halt as the fear of he might have crushed the small human when he walked in swarmed his mind.

"Tess?" He said again, this time in a more panicked tone. His heart was thrumming like he'd never felt before and his eyes snapped about around him trying to spot blonde locks. Lifting his knees his heart dropped to his stomach expecting to see a red stain. Shit. Shit shit shit. Where was she!

Thankfully there wasn't any blood. Had she been nabbed by an animal, did she wander off. In her drunken state that was a bad idea especially in the wild. She had gotten so drunk so quickly and he had been planning to hide her away in his tent not wanting her near Cole and Austin but also wanting to have some time alone again. Enjoying being around the small human then with his friends.

His eyes snapped toward his left, when hearing a soft giggle. So gentle he could've missed it but it was there and he leant forward toward one of his shoes to carefully lift. His eyes widened as he came face to face with a little doll, smiling large, eyes vibrant and hair having become a bit of a mess upon her head. He felt like snapping, to tell her to not do that but as if anxiety drifted away he simply smiled

"What are you doing?" His heart eased and he reached forward to carefully grab the small girl who squirmed in his grasp, making him have to keep a steady hold to not drop her. Sighing lightly he sat back onto his sleeping bag, carefully placing Tess onto the pillow before lightly pinning her there with a finger, smirking overhead as he leans in "that was very dangerous you know, does help that your drunk" he whispered, amused as he held her there so carefully, but she was still unable to move.

"Nah Uh~ I've never been more sober in my life" she laughed, her words ever so slightly slurring and he felt her little fingers press against his much larger finger that rested on her trying to keep her from squirming and escaping against, her small fingers cold and sending a shiver up his arm from her very touch.

"oh really?" He grinned watching the girl squirm beneath his finger that rested so gently on top of her, pulling his finger away he brought his hand up over the tiny girl and held up two fingers "how many?"

"Do you seriously think I'm that dumb" she rolled her eyes and crossed her arms now that the weight of his finger had disappeared "two" she scoffs with a cocky smile, raising her own hand to reflect the fingers on his hand

"Uh~ just because you can count doesn't mean your sober" he chuckles and moves down closer to her, letting his elbows rest either side of her small body upon the pillow. Resting his head in his hands, his head hung over the small girl, his hair falling about his face as he looked down on her on the pillow bellow. She was so little... She squirmed under his gaze, her eyes looking to him then drifting away when his eyes didn't break away. She was so small he wanted to just hold her and keep her safe, yet so delicate he didn't want to touch her in case he accidentally hurt her. Lowering himself down he lay on his stomach, letting his head come to rest beside Tess where she lay on his pillow, hair billowing one the pillow about his head. She rolled to her side as his head lay on the pillow to look at him, while his cheek faces down so he could face the little human.

Lifting his hand, Darrick slowly moves his finger down to lightly rub the human's soft cheek, finger grazing down to feel the small arms that were similar to twigs between his fingertips, the soft locks of blonde hair tickling his fingers as he takes the human into his hand again to bring her closer. The small heart pounds against his palm as he pulled her up a little so she could lay closer to him

"I think I can trust you enough now to tell you my crush" he whispered, his heart thrumming and ears feeling like they were hot lava, the heat running down the back of his neck and making his palm clammy. He saw her instantly pipe up a little to his words, her head coming to rest in his fingers and making him want to awe at the sight

"Who is it?~" she smiled largely, her eyes meeting his own and he could see a slight rosiness on her cheeks. Even in the darkness he could see the glint in her eye and the pink of her small lips, the look that had come upon her face made him chuckle softly, feeling embarrassed and a little overwhelmed

"Isn't it obvious" he whispers, His heart throbbing in his chest. Darrick smiled, snuggling further into his own pillow knowing Tess was very drunk and could see her little eye lids threatening to close . Now that she was tired he became a little less nervous around the tiny girl, fingers finding the fragile body and stroking at it to ease her to sleep

Darrick grins to himself as he watched her curl into his fingers and cuddled into his hand, "I like you too.." she spoke soft and he had barely heard her, yet her small whisper travelled to his ears. His cheeks warmed and he felt his mind begin to buzz with energy. He didn't think, didn't realise what he was doing as he leant up to press a soft kiss to the small body, making his whole body tingle as it came to rest on her body to graze her soft skin. Pulling away, he lightly licked his lips tasting her on his mouth before he rolled over and brought her to rest in the curve of his neck.

He grasped at a bunch of his sleeping bag beneath him to tug over him to keep him warm. His entire body was buzzing and he couldn't wipe the smile from his face, not looking down cause he was too scared to see her upset. The new feeling of Tess being so close to him was all so new and the feeling he felt in his heart and gut, it was strange. He could feel her as she curled up into him, it was so sweet, felt so right: so perfect in the moment. Bringing his hand up he began to play with the human, feeling the human's locks tickling his neck and the small movements of the girl curling into his neck against his skin.

"Night~"
