Twenty Eight: Frustration

Seated in Darricks hands, with his fingers clasping around her body, a large thumb pressed gently between her shoulders blades and lightly rubbed at her small body between his fingers. She found herself feeling slightly annoyed all the while avoiding eye contact with Darrick for the first half of the drive where they sat together with Ava and Jamie in the backseats of Austin's car. Jamie was sat with Ava within her lap, his face whiter than usual, looking to be the most terrified he'd ever been in his life while being conflicted as he was seated in a giant beautiful girls lap. A boys dream.. Ava was delighted holding Jamie, looking down to him whenever there was a bump in the road or turning a corner too quickly she'd hold him against her abdomen. Making sure he was okay every second of the way. It had taken much persuasion to get Jamie to come along, Henryk, Cherry and Jules not helping in her attempt in bringing her friend along which she hadn't seen in so long.

"You better be kidding me"

"Don't do it"

"Are you dumb?"

Tess had to bribe Jamie by the end of the day to come along, agreeing to come as long as she bought him a six pack of beers. She could tell Jamie was still scared of the idea of giants but also fascinated by them at the same time, especially by Ava. Ava was so sweet, carrying him with the utmost care. Ava was taking incredible care of him and Tess knew her old friend was in safe hands. She hoped. At least he wasn't with Austin, he'd probably traumatise the poor boy.

Austin was noticeably very curious of the new human, turning in his chair every few seconds to glance down at Jamie. Brows furrowed and lips tugged into a smile as he drove to the diner, "so.. how long is this new kid gonna be sticking around?"

"Don't be rude Austin" Ava spoke first, looking up toward Austin and gently pushing his shoulder with one finger, making him smirk where he sat grasping the wheel. Tilting his head to the side, he gave a low sigh followed by a chuckle, similar to an evil genius who just got an idea.

"Hey its not rude, it was just a simple question.. He looks fun. Cole probably won't be too happy about the new comer though, aren't you two a thing now?" he smirks as he glanced back to Tess with amusement in his eyes then to Ava, his tongue poking out the side of his mouth as he eyed the girl for a brief second then turned to the road once more.

"W-what?" Tess turned her gaze when hearing Jamie squeak, seeing him curled in on himself with his knees against his chest and hugging his school bag as he looked to Tess also, letting his eyes lift up toward Ava as if seeking for assistance. His breathing was rapid and shallow. She could see his his pulse pounding in his temples as his jaw clenched. It's a relief he is seated, because between the heels and his legs shaking, he'd probably would have fallen over. Ava was busy glaring toward Austin to notice, who sat mischievously in the drivers seat, a devilish look having come into his eyes which she could see in his rear view mirror, quickly turning to shock as Darrick reaches forward to pinch at the nape of Austin's neck, making Austin yelp in pain

"Ouch! What was that for.." he grumbles, rubbing at the back of his neck while sinking further down into his seat and keeping his eyes on the road away from the group of big and smalls seated in the backseat.

"Don't worry little Jamie, Cole is no one and nothing to me. Don't let Austin scare you" Ava smiled to Jamie who didn't seem any more comforted by her words. Tess roller her eyes and instead focused on Darricks thumb that continued to stroke at her back in circles, massaging her lower back and shoulders which made her feel like a melting at his touch, humming happily she shifted in his lap to cuddle into him.

He was good at a back massages that was for sure.

Sighing she turned her attention away from Ava and Jamie, who was being happily played with by the giant girl. Instead she found herself looking up toward Darricks handsome face, seeing he was already looking down to her with a soft look across his features. She couldn't help but blush as he gently sent her a small smile, the corners of his lips twitching ever so slightly then looking away out the window.

She noticed a smirk playing across his lips as his fingers delicately moved til they clasped around her entire body, somewhat in a suffocating hold but was comforting in a way for her. He brought her closer in one effortless movement by guiding her tiny body across his lap with his large hands til her back pressed into his lower stomach, his shirt feeling like a soft blanket around her. She could see him begin to blush as she giggled softly, ever so slightly warming his cheeks pink as he held her. Smiling she raised a brow curiously, never seeing him blush like this as often as she'd like.

She jumped a little as she heard a low groan come from deep within his body, vibrating her bones as he grumbled, abdomen moving slightly as he shifted in his seat seeming uncomfortable in his own skin. Her brows raising, she felt her world move as he slightly pushed his pelvis up from beneath her, rubbing denim against her skin. He let out a low breath, head resting against the headrest of his seat as he looked to the window, evidentially avoiding eye contact with his cheeks and ears having turned a deep beetroot pink.

Did he just...

She blushed darkly, cheeks feeling warmer then the pavement of a hot summers day as she looked at the underneath of his sharp jawline, clenching and unclenching. Letting her arms wrap around his large fingers, she smiled lightly to herself as she curled into the warmth of his body trying to ignore the fact of what he just did. But looking down the length of his long legs, her eyes grazed over the dark denim that hugged his large thighs and her heart hammered in her chest and up into her throat as her eyes grazed over his crotch. She sucked in a sharp breath through her nose at the sight and turned her eyes away, watching instead Austin as he pulled into the parking lot of the diner.

"Oh my~" she swallowed tightly, making Darrick squirm beneath her, clearing his throat lowly as he continued to look out the window and bounce a knee seeming eager to get out of the car.

Jace had stayed behind with Cole and Katy and would meet up after Cole finished working on his play he had been working on for a few weeks now. He would be performing in the coming weeks, Cole having kept the entire thing a big secret wanting it to be a surprise.

The diner was quiet as the group entered, it looking considerably empty compared to the first time she'd visited the diner with the boys. She felt comfortable in Darricks hands as if she belonged seated in his palm while Jamie looked awkward and shifted anxiously within Avas grasp. Ava petted and tousled his hair, holding him close against her body as she walked. Austin walking in empty handed while Ava and Darrick entered with humans in hand. Taking a seat, Tess found herself being placed on the table delicately by Darrick who sits behind her still seeming to recover from his embarrassment as he glanced to her. Jamie was set down beside her as Ava took a seat, smiling she shifted to go stand by her human friend only for Darricks arm to come down like a wall between them to rest on the table.

Jamie noticeably flinched as Darrick created a barrier between the two, leaning up ever so slightly on his tip toes trying to make eye contact with Tess with worry on his face. She tried to smile and waved in return trying to comfort him but also trying to not piss Darrick off who seemed uncomfortable with the idea of the two even being near each other. Which annoyed her but also was to frightened to go against Darrick, who was so large and seemed so evident in keeping the two apart. But she knew he wouldn't do anything.. Sighing quietly to herself she moved til she was leant against Darricks arm that rest upon the table, finding comfort in using his large arm as a makeshift seat while also trying to get closer to Jamie so he wasn't sitting alone.

"I'll share a fry with Jamie, what are you going to get.." Tess spoke while tilting her head up toward Darrick, who glanced down at her with a slight nod. His jaw was tense as he looked to her at the mention of Jamie, tilting his head slightly as he eyed her leaning against his arm

"I'll just have a burger.. you two can share one of my fries" Darrick spoke, his voice low as he looked to her where she sat upon his arm and not at Jamie. She smiled up at him, his face making her heart flutter and her stomach knot but also frustrating her, he seemed to notice and winked in her direction making her entire world burn with embarrassment. She didn't realise how much of an effect they had on each other, even when she was angry at being kept seperate from Jamie she couldn't stop blushing and falling for Darrick again with every touch and look.

"So~ I was thinking drinks at mine this weekend after the game" Austin spoke up from where he sat behind a menu, lowering it slightly as he looked to the giants then down to Tess, a smile reflecting on his face while she lifted her brow. She knew the game was on this Friday, hadn't stopped hearing about it from Austin ever since they had arrived home from their trip. Darrick mentioned it every so often, not seeming as excited as Austin was expressing, especially since it seemed he was training every lunch time and would never visit her

"Have you asked Brian yet?" Tess said while tilting her head curiously toward the giant brunette, who shrugged and pushed the giant menu across the table away from him. Seeming to know what he wanted to eat already.

"He usually lets me invite the team and a few friends over after the game, besides I'm sure I can convince him to have a romantic get away with Margaret. Especially if you help me like last time" he chuckles and shakes his head with amusement, making Tess roll her eyes, resting her cheek against the warmth of Darricks arm

"Austin.. you couldn't possibly think that's a good idea would you? The entire team can't go to yours.. especially Lenny.. what about Tess?" Darrick interrupted Austin's moment of glory and the other boys grin turned down into a grimace, looking to Darrick as he ran his fingers through the length of his hair

"She'll be fine.. just lock my door and she can stay in her house. No one will bother her. Everyone is expecting to come back to mine anyways." He frowned a little, looking lost for words before his eyes met Tess again "Hey why don't you have a party of your own, Tess. With all those little human friends of yours" he turned his attention to Jamie and gave a grin, making Jamie shudder beneath his gaze "he can come too, have a cute little sleepover or whatever you do. And us boys can stay downstairs" he grinned, looking to Darrick for confirmation, eyes wide with a hopeful look behind them.

"Austin.. that isn't a good idea~"

"That sounds good!" Tess chimed in, sitting up from Darricks arm to press further. She hadn't hung out with her human friends yet, hadn't got the chance when being forced to go everywhere with the giant boys she'd become friends with. Looking to Darrick she smiled, giving a confident nod "I'd love to have something at mine, as long as you don't come up and bother us and scare everyone!" She pointed toward Austin, who look startled as he lifted his hands defensively

"Hey I promise! Not a single giant will be allowed in. Only Darrick" he smirked and gave a sly wink up toward the black haired boy, who grumbled in response and rolled his eyes

"Deal, only Darrick cause I trust him" she hummed and looked up toward Darrick, her eyes glistening with admiration and happiness. Darrick met her gaze with a small smile but didn't seem convinced, instead turning his attention back toward Austin and leaning into the table a little, making it groan beneath his weight

"And I'm the only one that can have the key to your door, and I'm sleeping in your room so no one wanders in" Darrick added, making Austin grin and give a clap making Jamie and Tess flinch with the volume of the giant.

"Yes done deal!" Austin grinned and looked to Tess, nodding toward her in a silent thank you. She waved him off and simply rested against Darrick, finding his protective side adorable and also very attractive. He was the sweetest melody on her eyes and ears. She could wrap herself up in his words and sleep more soundly than a baby. She guessed that was attraction but it feels so deep, as if this were the start of a song that plays on and on, something so soothing to her soul.

She'd have to start trying to persuade the humans from now on, she was sure she could influence Cherry and Henryk to say yes, Jules would probably join as long as the other too came along. Oreo.. maybe not considering he seemed to have a deep phobia of giants. Smiling to herself she began to plan the night, drinks and music. What food she'd have to buy and considering she had an entire home to herself she'd have plenty of room for everyone to sleep over. Humming she looked over to Jamie who sat upon the table by Ava, looking to Tess with a tight smile as he turned his eyes up to Ava every now and then. Sitting quietly and keeping to himself, seeming too nervous to say a word.

He'd warm up to them soon enough, she knew.
